Hey man, ggs on those games. In the time between our games and you uploading, I actually came second in a YOMI tourney. Trust me when I say even I had to get beat down to rise up. Hope we can rematch sometime, either to check your progress or to help you along.

1. Zetta
2. Azaya
3. Tsutsuji
4. Scrodum hat / Axolotol God
5. whims (lol)
Axolotol only participated once so Im not sure between him and Scrodum
@@legit_98 To be honest I think I'm below Scrodum. I haven't fought Scrodum in a while, but I am decently sure he is better. I also count Tsutsuji as an all rounder in my head, so I can cope and keep the 4th robot slot.
Any tips for new player like me? I just want to get better and am feeling a little stuck. :(

@@TheStripeTailedFiendrobot has lots of tools to combo! All of his moves have high hit stun, so he can combo occasionally
You say him walking is styling on you, but I believe that was his way of waiting to see what you’ll do so he can react to it.

Don't get discouraged, we all had to get washed to be clean as you put it. Also Axolotl is pretty sick.
If I can offer a few pieces of advice:
1) Be careful giving opponents easy/reactable parries. They give a ton of meter and almost always lead to punishes.
2) Defensive options in this game tend to be pretty bad and only used as a last resort or on hard read. When you try to read your opponents, as long as they're pretty good at the game assume block and roll will not be the options picked unless there's literally nothing else.
3) When you feel stuck, especially after a whiff cancel, try seeing if free canceled flipped attacks can get you out. On Cowboy flipped Backslash and Stinger are very good for this.

This got me thinking is that when both you and your opponent is basically so close that both of you just grab instead i just dash up using cowboy the other one often thinks that you will also grab but what he doesn't know is that you have more advantage if you dash up giving you free combo
month late but this works as any character by just jumping
remember if they attack youre screwed and same applies to you if they jump

Hey Drem, i know your skillset in this game is more towards modded characters, I'm just gonna let you know ranked is a whole different game but against base characters, it's especially difficult. if you wanna git gud gonna have to learn how people play their characters first.
Have faith though! if cowboy your choice of main he got a lot of effective tools to pressure just gotta know how to use them right. GL!
I would say the people tend to play only vanilla develop a significantly deeper understanding of the 4 characters and how they interact with each other, adding a significant layer of depth to the game which is not present in modded characters due to the nature of having so many. It definitely takes a bit to learn but it does feel damn rewarding to go through the process.
Don't give up dre, as a cowboy main I believe in you.
Also a tip for robot matchup as cowboy, you really don't want to be close to him, and if you see him spamming command grab you can use dash to dodge it. (Careful of try catch though, but they generally don't use that until they see you jump the first time in my experience)
@@josephdonohoe7327 yes the learning curve may have a steeper effect on vanillia on modded mainly due to what you said, good players can master the 4 matchups and gain insight on your character that they can't have playing within lobbies with dozens of installed mods. Ranked even if its dead right now, is where you really get to understand that .

The pain that comes from realizing you only are really good with playing mod/boss characters. I feel like the OG characters need an overhaul.
The og characters are fine... And generally really fun with lots of cool unique interactions between them.

Yeah, since then, robot got nerfed because someone who, while being a high ranked tourney cowboy; never really trained enough with Robot to go tourneying, but decided to go into one of the bigger ones and *easily* take the championship.
