Jungle fight looks 10x better than in actual game. BUT - this was of course pre-rendered (back than there was no pc to run this game like that). There was other clip showing difference between DX9 and DX10 (again - actual game doesn't look like at at all) where it looked even better.
It was PC exclusive for ever. The console version uses a different engine, the CryEngine 2 was and will ever be forever a PC exclusive for Crysis only, no other games were ever made with it, no other hardware was ever supported outside PC.
Remastered is fairly optimized when raytrcing isn't involved, but it also suffers from being a console port losing some features from the 2007 build. Throw in creative liberties by Saber Interactive and the game just doesn't feel the same.
How can a game from end 2000s have better FX / textures and CONTRAST than most of today washed out games .. it's insane BTW this game made me bought 8800 GT card lol and The Witcher 3 was the next step with my still functionning GTX 970
This trailer is definitely per-rendered using the final games assets with a way more complex lighting engine. i wish they would have kept the blood splatters, huge muzzle flashes, and how the enemies dropped like sacks of potatoes when killed that would have been awesome.
So this was 12 years ago... go and have a look at cutting edge gaming technology from 1994, 12 years before 2006, (eg Sonic 3 on console, Tekken at the arcades, Doom 2 on PC) and it's pretty clear that graphical upgrades have become more and more incremental, rather than revolutionary.

Half-Life 2, Crysis, F.E.A.R. developed PC first. Now imagine where we'd be today if it stayed that way... The only good thing, you don't have to change GPU every 18 months any more like back in that time (unless 1440p+ 144+ Hz)

thats because crysis was an pc exclusive for 4 years. They didn't have to think about the consoles, so no downgrading like we see today

Commenting 3 years after: Watch Dogs is really fun game. Shitbisoft downgraded it but gameplay is great.
Lol the shadows looked way better than the retail version. Overall unpolished but this version looked much nicer.
