Yes I don’t think we could have started with much less experience especially for a challenging area to boat whether it be motor or sail. Luckily we are fast learners and made it out the other side with a lot more knowledge than we started. Still got to tackle the Wild West coast down to perth so not counting our chicken just yet. Thanks for watching
The line / rope path into the winch should ideally be angled down a few degrees. Look at the angle of the skirt below the winch drum. Some yachts that I have worked on have a horizontal roller ( about 10 to 15cms long) mounted in front of the winch so that the rope always enters the winch at an angle. And not square to the drum.
Thanks for the suggestion. Yes I think the fact that our pulleys are attached to ropes doesn't help as the winch sits lower than the height of the lines coming from the deck. Our decision is whether to go a 'quick fix' or re-do the whole rope system and where it comes back to in the cockpit. That would be the best solution but time and money are obviously also a factor....
Yes we have a plan to do a full makeover on the electronics on this boat once we get back to Perth... there is a ton of obsolete and/or poorly done systems happening at the moment. I guess 20 years of bits and pieces being added by various owners. We will get there though 🙌. Thanks for watching
Yes it looks like we might have to do a bit of reconfiguring based on feedback from yourself and others. Thanks for the suggestion. One day we will have a jam free winch setup 😝
The only way is forward so they say 😝😝😝. Hahah yes the life jackets were hanging close by on the door. We wear them in the dark and keep them close during the day when it’s rough or if we have to go up front. Thanks as always for the comment and for watching 🙌
Hi luv the channel, regarding the line overlap on the winch, I recommend changing the angle the line enters the winch. is there a block you can use to lower the entry of the line so it’s closer to the bottom of the winch?
Thank you!!!! Love hearing you are enjoying our adventures !!!!! Yes we have had a look at that. There is a way we can lower the angle on the port side but as the rope comes across the back from starboard we can’t seem to figure out how to drop that angle as it comes off a higher part of the boat 😬🤔. It’s funny cause we know it happens and we are careful but it’s always the one time things are a little hectic that it choses to jam again 😝😂…. Gota laugh or you can only cry!!! Thanks for watching
I take my hat off to you guys. You've certainly had some challenging issues. It was a lot less stressful following you in your caravan. 😂😂 Stay safe, team. Love following your adventures.
I guess it's a little awkward when you get to a place and have to get around for supplies i think i got sea sick just watching the rough bit take care all the best Ron
Yes it’s funny how much you take having a car for granted until you no longer have access to one. I think we were too scared for most of that trip to be sea sick. The camera never shows it well but we were rethinking our life on that day 😝. Thanks as always for watching
Wow you two are hilarious, I can’t stop laughing 😂 watching you guys. Mind you it’s much more exciting than the caravan trips so I really don’t think you two should go out on the ocean for the next 5or6 years or so 🥴🥴. What about a bit of river cruising the water doesn’t go up and down so much 😤😤😂😂❤️❤️ yes guys I am taking the piss a little bit but you two are funny. Anyhow take care and keep away from that ocean 😤😂 jon
Hilarious personalities, looking or a bit of both 😝😝😝😝😝. Lke they say… ‘go hard or go home’, so straight to the hardest place to sail to test out our non existent sailing skills 🙌😜. Thanks for watching and awesome to hear you are enjoying the adventure!
Now thats hilarious! First half of the video, Ohh people warned us about doing this, saying to be careful but it's been so easy, a real breeze! Second half of the video.... WTF I don't want to be here, shits going everywhere, captain is questioning his life choices!! Hahaha Never a dull moment.. Well captured guys! Cheers 🍻🍻
@LBWAdventures quedos to you guys. . . . . I think I mentioned b4 you've bitten off a big challenge. . . . I look forward to your success and adventures. . . . .

Look at fitting a voltage regulator in front of the vital electronics.

Wouldn't clime the tree down south but goes up there 😮
Hahah yer he had to pony up 😝😝😝😝😜
Get rid of the block that's right next to the winch first of all. Then move the blocks that the sheet runs though as low as you can , problem fixed.

Gee you two make me laugh all of these issues, but you keep on moving forward. With the ruff stuff, keep safe and wear your life jackets.

Hahah yes we though the caravan had issues (well the Everest anyway) little did we know that would be nothing compared to a boat 😝😝😝😝😜😜😜😜😱

Hahah yip that pretty much sums up the roller coaster of a ride it’s been so far 😬😬😬😬😂😂😱😜. Thanks for the message and of course for watching 🙌
Hectic!
That boat went for sale in our heads a LOT of times that day hahah 😜
The question has to be asked. Once you reach Perth are you going to fix the cat to continue or to sell (after what youve gone through)?
@@Mr4xl on that day it was 💯 selling, but we have had some sleep since then and are back to enjoying the boat…. Most of the time 😝

Thank you…. Hopefully once we can get into some maintenance on the about back it Perth, it will be more smooth waters than the rough seas so far 😜
