Lets squeese in a bit of Tessie updates and improvements for the next upcoming adventures in 2025! And thanks for all the great support on my "Expedition Greenland" series, Chapter 6 is in under edit already!
Tessie looks gorgeous with the orange trim, it will certainly be popular when you sail to the Netherlands. The new wind sensor that compensates for sway is really cool as well. I recently got into your channel in the last few weeks. Your expedition around Scotland and through the highlands brought me to tears at points, so beautiful! You are super inspiring and I look forward to Chapter 6 of Expedition Greenland.
Painting the coach line and the Viking on both hull sides would really finish the orange transformation off perfectly. And I bet it would add to visibility too - far more than one would think. But looking really, really good so far!
Good job!! 🎉 nice orange color and upgrades.... But yep, you now you need waterproof connectors on that amazing new lights!! Give us names because they are amazing. Keep going and share with us! Thks
With everything I have owned I have wanted to do this .( I am getting there with my motorbike ) you have everything as you want it all working very time consuming but how satisfying 😊 Looks great all of it 👍
That has been very interesting. I Think every improvement makes a lot of sense and will make your Journeys safer and Maybe even more fun. Looking forward to update 2.
Thank you. Erik seems to be at better health. But it seems he will not reach Greenland. At least not some time soon. I will follow him whereever he goes.
@erikaanderaa You will like Sail Amsterdam. But be aware, it will be packed with boats (all kinds of boats). Especially the parade can be a challenge to navigate in, another boats get incredibly close to you from all sides. But it's fun.
Top dat je naar ons land komt, Nederland! Voor Sail Amsterdam. Je heb de boot al in onze kleur geverfd, Oranje. We hopen je te zien in Amsterdam 🎉. Groetjes Henk en Nella.
Hi Erik, it is best to kea e though household screw in block electrical connectors at home. I recommend Deutsch automotive connectors (that require a special crimper). Easy to use. Also I recommend a Mastmate ladder that slides into the main sail track (just remove the top three sliders), and maybe a couple of steps bolted into the mast high up- much easier operation.
She not only looks sporty, but she will be seen from a long way off now. For the dodger top, rub the zippers with bees wax. It will keep the salt from doing what it loves best, making life harder. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

You have my admiration, Erik: I couldn't use tools up in the mast that aren't tethered to the body somehow - I'd probably lose half of them, particularly if it is cold up there, too!
Amazing updates, I fully understand they make your life so much easier during your solo passages, almost impossible to keep up with technology, indeed, safety second!😂 Thank you for the excellent footage!
Hey man amazing video as always. I love the color choice and all the work on the boat. Every time I watch one of your videos I know I’m in for a little adventure. Thanks for sharing these things with us and working so hard. Safe travels and I look forward to those future videos. Happy holidays🎉
It might be a good idea to take off the new spray hood and give it a thorough washing at the start and the end of each season so that it doesn't get full of salt and seagull crap and the zips will continue to work. You could pay Martin to do it for you, teenagers always need money.
I didn't know I would love sailing just the same as I love skydiving. anyone in NYC have a boat? LOVE THE ORANGE THEME. After watching this I'll be editing my TH-cam. much love from NYC
Only other comment about the leccy updates. Please DO NOT trust a home owner connection. If you want to join +/- to extend a wire please, please cut the + wire shorter (or longer) than the - wire then use whatever method of joining those wires....if + and - are the same length they will definitely fail (boat ownership 101 :) and if they get free from their connected points they will short! If you make the connectors for + and - different lengths they can't physically short. As long as the lengths of the pos/neg from the consumer to the power supply match you are golden
Hope you are doing perfect Erik!!! Superhugs!!! Still not sailing in the Pacific if they are not allowing here I will move to Indo and there almost I can manage with the lumbung and I can sail with the waves and the sharks. I amgine how I feel. Studing diatomeas sharks for free still and still with zero income to have my ship!!! My be I will be old and dead when I will have it. Jajja. Kissssesss for you all you are great people!!!
Hey Erik! If you're coming to Amsterdam, Get in touch :) Maybe I can sail out to meet you when you arrive :) We can do a Wolf VS Viking race on the way in :P
What cool updates! High viz orange is very modern looking. One question Eric... Could you not have taped/ tied the new sensor wire on the bottom of the mast them pulled the old out from the top, fishing the new? Do you call it fishing in your language? It's the English slang for that technique. Of course, you would say 'fisk'ing 😅. Love your channel mate, sail on.
Hej, We're also very interested in the interieur- and position lights. Could you please tell us more about. Sending some love from the netherlands. Thank you for your very high quality Vlog. 🙌 Frieda and Basti onbord Finja.
That Greenland thing has been extended too far trying to maximize it’s monetization. It is nowadays 3 weeks of waiting for 20nautical miles of progress, lots of fill content and ofcourse North VPN add is 1/3:rd of the whole video. Starting to lose interest as it drags on to infinity.
I very interested in the sort of pully method you are using to climb the mast with the climbing assenders. I have been using one on a foot loop and another on the harness (as in the start of this video… th-cam.com/video/pi13iwiYWlg/w-d-xo.html ) but your method seems much more effective. Do you have any pointers to videos or websites that explain your method?

Add also reflex paint or 3M reflex bands for night visibility in searchlights for example
How tall are you, Erik?!
Sorry should have stayed in english ... Wago clips are fast reliable and can be made waterproof( for some reason could not post below)
Just purchased a lightly used and well preserved Contessa 39. Not much room if you are over 6’1”. Set up for solo and short hand.

Laura Dekker is just as cute as ever.
Tessie needs an RNLI logo now. 👌
Hi, I love the NBJS T-shirt... bough some of them a X-mas present to offer to some sailors friends!
Season greetings!
"Pretty dam spiffy" So pleased to hear you watch sail-life too 😊
Been following them for many years, great channel😀
"Now we have a crime scene here..." LOL She's brilliant in her commentary! Love it!

Tessie looks stunning!
Tiger needs an orange coat to match the sails and keep him dry in any storms.
It's my favorite color, so I very much approve!
I am really proud to see orange colour on Tessy.
Use tape to have the top 2 meters of your mast to be orange + add also reflecting tape. The reflecting tape is great.
Love it! I’ll check it out, thanks!
Great to see your family assisting you Erik, onwards we go, NBJS!!!
Great job...well done ..
Tak for mange fine Videos og Rigtig Glædelig Jul og Godt Nytår.
God Jul!
Painting the coach line and the Viking on both hull sides would really finish the orange transformation off perfectly. And I bet it would add to visibility too - far more than one would think. But looking really, really good so far!
Was thinking the same☺️
awesome work mate, keep up the amazing content.
Thank you!!
amazing upgrade!
Good job!! 🎉 nice orange color and upgrades.... But yep, you now you need waterproof connectors on that amazing new lights!! Give us names because they are amazing. Keep going and share with us! Thks
Your videos are simply amazing!
Love the color amazing. Tessie is looking sweet!
The orange looks fucking rad… and looking cool is the most important thing.
Tessie 2.0 version with orange details !!👍💪💪
Tessie will colour coordinate with Tiger. Looking good.
With everything I have owned I have wanted to do this .( I am getting there with my motorbike ) you have everything as you want it all working very time consuming but how satisfying 😊 Looks great all of it 👍
Self-amalgamating tape (Vulkteip)!! 🙏❤💪
That has been very interesting. I Think every improvement makes a lot of sense and will make your Journeys safer and Maybe even more fun. Looking forward to update 2.
They are going to love Tessie's new colour scheme when you do Sail Amsterdam
Great to see your upgrades, looking forward to the next one
Thanks eric!! Very nice to hear you are visiting Amsterdam this summer. I really hope to see you there💪
Hi Eric ...being a manufacturer of boat canvas to keep the sliders going just spray them now and then with DW-40 and move the sliders now and then
Makes sense. Orange is the opposite of blue on the colour wheel. So in an environment of primarily blue..... Yes!
Great episode. Always enjoy seeing Haugesund in the background 😊
Safe sailing 🙌
Loved the show
I love the orange buddy! She looks amazing!!
Thanks!
Thank you. Erik seems to be at better health. But it seems he will not reach Greenland. At least not some time soon. I will follow him whereever he goes.
Orange is also the color of the Dutch. Suitable for your upcoming sailing plans. 😉
That is what I learned too :) One more reason to reach Amsterdam!
@erikaanderaa You will like Sail Amsterdam. But be aware, it will be packed with boats (all kinds of boats). Especially the parade can be a challenge to navigate in, another boats get incredibly close to you from all sides. But it's fun.
Tessy’s looking grand Erik! Nice to meet your son; have a VERY Merry Christmas and all the best to you and yours in ‘25!🖖🏻
Love the orange and it will help other boats see you from a distance better maybe. Either way she's looking sharp!

Nice Tessie. Great
Hi Erik, I'm interested in your new LED navigation lights. Could you give us a link please ? Mange takk !
Attwood 2NM led I think, or something close
You have my admiration, Erik: I couldn't use tools up in the mast that aren't tethered to the body somehow - I'd probably lose half of them, particularly if it is cold up there, too!
Been there done that! Its just easier without all the lines😇
Pretty dang spiffy.. 😊
Amazing updates, I fully understand they make your life so much easier during your solo passages, almost impossible to keep up with technology, indeed, safety second!😂 Thank you for the excellent footage!
You are cool, and your English is good.
Merry Christmas

Great!
The New color scheme looks cool. I think you should make the NBJS Viking logo on the bow bigger.
Don’t worry , Erik. You are not the first TH-camr that shows a bit of skin for clout …..😊
Ship looks younger now . Well done .
Now it already looks as a Dutch boat:-) #orange
The orange looks mega Erik 👊 Can’t beat Raymarine i have the same wind vane - Roll on 2025 summer
How die Rolle Tasker manage to make the Sprayhood without having the shape of the old one??
Did you somehow scan the frame for them??
I want to know too, i allready have an orange Lazy-Bag and need a new Sprayhood too! SO how did they do it?
Thanks!
Erik needs a Klein Bucket Bag 👍🏼
Come to the states and sail the Great lakes someday
...this DIY man does a bit of sailing as well!
The tape..
But nice upgrades👍
Viel Grüßen aus Sachsen . Immer eine Handbreit Wasser unter Kiel und viel Kraft und Gesundheit.

If you want to be seen easier maybe add some reflective tapes on the new spray hood and sail cover 👍

❤ Nice upgrades. Great jobs for the winter time too. How cold was it?
Around 4-5 C ⛵️
When do you plan to be in Lindesfarne / Holy island ?
Hey Erik! If you're coming to Amsterdam, Get in touch :) Maybe I can sail out to meet you when you arrive :) We can do a Wolf VS Viking race on the way in :P
Would be really nice meeting you! Watching your videos, allways starting with that cup of coffee. Love it!☕️😎
All great and well done, but use vulcanizing tape, Erik! Not Plain isolating tape
With all that Orange are you going “ Dutch”…..😮😂😂😂.
What is the device that you used to climb the mast?

The connection plug going into the sensor on top couldnt fit into the base of the mast. Had to take it the other way
Nice! 2025 promising!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🇨🇦
Well, no-one will shoot at your boat during deer hunting season anymore...
Martin not keen on sailing? 🙂
what model bow light is that?
Hej,

Attwood led navlights I think
Erik - is that a CriCri ascender?
Yes! Video here: th-cam.com/video/0aRnKKFy4N0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KbHyqzEK2rE2KlIA
Sides need to be slightly more dayglo
and there is no fear that sea conditions may damage the devices you mount on the mast?
It's never made sense to me when people paint their boats black...
