Never had a Surface Pro before. Picked up a Pro 5 for £200 in 2023 and it’s a complete game changer. You totally can game on it, if you want to play games from 20 years ago!!! Which is exactly what I want. Then it becomes a tablet for reading magazines. Then it’s a full fat windows laptop. Amazing.
Excellent point about how the SP6 bridges the gap between the current Gen smart phones and a full desktop. This was exactly my thought when I bought my SP6 this week. I'm done with "tablets" - my ipad mini sits somewhere in my home office as does my Samsung tab s. My Note 9 is my phone And my tablet. I have this and it's amazing for students and extremely easy to carry andmove around. It makes revision a breeze as you can quickly pick it up and look at notes. Moreover the build quality is great. The typing is amazing.the wake up speed is astonishing just simply great. Windows have done a great job. However not work getting the surface pro 6 it's basically the same just black

It doesnt come with the pen. One of reason i bought pro 4 was its a multi device, the pen just underlined that. Seems no need for me to go from pro4 to new pro. And the i5 is fanless? I use mine at work, loads of stuff, also charging heats devices up. So how does that work without a fan? I wouldnt buy a i5 device for just photos and browsing

I did. It’s a different experience for sure. The MSP is nice hardware for Windows. It’s a nice experience, but it’s not as unified as a MBP is, especially with other devices.
To Microsoft: Is a synthetic leather pouch/screen wiper for this classy tablet is Damn Expensive? Last, a simple sturdy keyboard, still not included? I don't understand, Why you doing this to your consumer? Hopefully, in your upcoming Surface pro 6, please include this to the package.
Not including the keyboard I think is justified, since it's an accessory, and you get to choose the color and feature of the cover (there's one model with fingerprint scanner, for example). If it was included or prepackaged, it might not suit your taste.
if you don't like windows 10, and like the Mac OS better, then go for the MacBook. I personally prefer windows 10 because of very it's versatility and it's little or no limitations. Also, another thing to consider is the great pen support you get with the surface pro. if your a student, it is perfect for taking digital notes with the pen, also if your interested digital art, it's very fun and useful feature to have.
Yea; here is one for ya! Warm! The gets warm with ust simple web usage, and though it’s not going to burn your hands the warmth becomes uncomfortable to hold. The warmth begins on the edges and the middle of the screen. The battery life is not all that impressive. I would not feel comfortable leaving for a Meeting to use the Surface Pro and not have the charger. Though it will get through the Meeting how much life would you have afterwards is pathetic (unless you running it on super low power mode). Let’s be real, Surface Pro is portable fast and easy to carry and I feel is a great portable laptop- but a Tablet - No. y’all need to stop comparing its tablet mode to an ipad. I’ve never had my iPad get warm in my hand from just checking emails and websites. Laptop=Great, Tablet = SoSo

Having just purchased the new Surface Pro and Pen, the 'SP5' and new pen certainly isn't an improvement over the SP4 when it comes to writing or drawing with the pen. The pen jitter while writing is pronounced and ANY attempt to calibrate the pen causes Windows Ink issue where the cursor jumps around and a ghosting stroke appears. No calibration means that the tip of the stroke is slightly behind the pen so that it doesn't feel like the stroke is coming from the pen tip.
I've been watching and reading a lot of 2017 Surface Pro reviews, thinking about switching from my 2015 iPad Pro 12.9. I think this review was mostly fair except for one thing. Everything in the last quarter of the video that you complained about tablets not being able to do easily or at all iPads do very easily. Especially iPad Pros. You really can't lump Android tablets and iPads together. Google hasn't concentrated on optimizing android for tablets for a long time. But I can easily multitask on my iPad Pro, do light gaming, use the entire office 365 suite, edit photos, edit video, Basically all of the things that you said that the Surface Pro does better, or does at all, because it runs a hybrid desktop operating system. That's just not the case.
I'm selling my my Surface Pro 4 and going to Acer, it's almost identical and bonus it can charge off of a USB C. Not the proprietary charger Microsoft uses.

So I thought about to switch to Surface Pro 4 or the Surface Pro 2017 (i5/8GB Ram). So is it worth to switch from 3 to Pro 2017 ? The Surface 3 is doing his job just fine for quite a while.

Could just adjust dpi scaling or if you want to keep your current dpi, the magnifier tool in Windows accessibility. The best workaround I found without having to wait for Microsoft or Adobe to act on it

The new Siri Great I wouldn’t recommend the camera for the surface pro. The iPad Pro’s camera is noticeably better. The surface pro is mainly for note taking and everything in the video. Windows 10 is a great plus, but doesn’t help the camera.
Didn't mention the face recognition for unlocking - Windows hello. Personally - I think the iPad Pro is much better. Remember the IOS11 improvements will be huge for iPad Pro. Having full windows on a tablet doesn't sound appealing to me. If anything I would want Windows on a decent laptop not a tablet. I think your other video was more compelling. People will buy this Laptop though. It's just not the best tablet or the best laptop either. Jack of all trades and master of none.
I disagree. I really like the 10.5" iPad and would say that it's the most well rounded casual tablet in the world. The screen is also way, WAY better than the Surface Pro's screen, even though the Surface Pro still has a great screen. For a large screen tablet, though, I love the versatility of having full Windows. It allows me to do regular laptop work, but can be used for casual browsing and media consumption by pulling the keyboard off. It hasn't replaced my MacBook Pro, and the iPad has better casual games and is more accessible for the kids. But I really like the Surface Pro as a complimentary device. I currently have the Surface Pro 4, but I'm going to switch to the Vaio Z Canvas.
Lesley Harrys It hasn't replaced your MacBook Pro (your best laptop) or your iPad (your best tablet). It sits in the middle as a jack of all trades. FYI I think the Surface Pro is a great device. I just don't personally get it. I'm like you and I'd want either an iPad or a decent laptop. The iPad would be predominantly used as a tablet and not as a laptop replacement. Basically I'm not a fan of two in ones.
This is the same reason I went with the iPad Pro 10.5. I already have a laptop that serves me perfectly. I wanted a tablet so I got something that is good at that. I haven't even bought the Smart Keyboard for my device because that's just not how I use the iPad. If I really wanted a new laptop or some kind of laptop replacement, I would have gone with the Surface Pro.
Bagel Burger Yes exactly. Typing on a two in one is doable but not a great experience. Anything power intensive is better on a more powerful machine which doesn't over heat as easily. Best tablet (used as a tablet) - iPad Pro. Best Laptop (used as a laptop) - MacBook Pro for Apple and Dell XPS for Windows. Best Gaming Laptop - Alienware Laptop. Best power & performance - iMac for Apple or a custom built desktop PC for Windows. The Surface Pro is great but it's heavily eaten by these two:- 1) iPad Pro as stand alone tablet. 2) Dell XPS as stand alone Laptop with much better specs. Surface Pro sits in the middle as an expensive all rounder with poor performance (compared to the Dell XPS).

same model here, it lasts for 7-9 hours of photoshop using.. though the last hour may be in low battery mode (screen brightness goes down, etc.)

Samsung Notebook Pro 13.3 will give it some competition,. Plus, its comes with the s pen housed within the device.

I just don't personally get it.
I'm like you and I'd want either an iPad or a decent laptop. The iPad would be predominantly used as a tablet and not as a laptop replacement.
Basically I'm not a fan of two in ones.
This is the same reason I went with the iPad Pro 10.5. I already have a laptop that serves me perfectly. I wanted a tablet so I got something that is good at that. I haven't even bought the Smart Keyboard for my device because that's just not how I use the iPad. If I really wanted a new laptop or some kind of laptop replacement, I would have gone with the Surface Pro.

Yes exactly.
Typing on a two in one is doable but not a great experience.
Anything power intensive is better on a more powerful machine which doesn't over heat as easily.
Best tablet (used as a tablet) - iPad Pro.
Best Laptop (used as a laptop) - MacBook Pro for Apple and Dell XPS for Windows.
Best Gaming Laptop - Alienware Laptop.
Best power & performance - iMac for Apple or a custom built desktop PC for Windows.
The Surface Pro is great but it's heavily eaten by these two:-
1) iPad Pro as stand alone tablet.
2) Dell XPS as stand alone Laptop with much better specs.
Surface Pro sits in the middle as an expensive all rounder with poor performance (compared to the Dell XPS).
