    In 2000, I was walking around with my 20lb laptop, that had a 2 hour battery and a 5lb power supply, like it was nothing.
    In 2018, you need a more portable laptop than your laptop for leaving the house.

    I own the Surface Pro 6, i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB storage. I bought the keyboard and stylus, then a case and screen protector for, well, protection.
    I love it and am just worried about how it’ll hold up for the inevitable drop. But as a laptop replacement, I’ve had ZERO regrets and would highly recommend this device if you can get past the price tag.

    • @ICCUWANSIUT

      Timber van den Hul amen. Preach. USB C is ARGUABLE, and that’s literally only because of external drives that use usb c to usb a connections, or phones that oddly come with usb c to usb c. It’s hilarious that people complain about it when it’s such a niche thing incorporating it would make more people upset about the increase in cost, than make people happy it’s included.

    • @mahoslash
      @mahoslash 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For tech savvy people, yes it is a big issue.
      For what Microsoft is aiming for, which is the business market, no, it's not.
      Most business corporations do not update their hardware as frequent as the common consumer, and for businesses, if it ain't broke and you can't fix it, then don't replace it.
      Funny enough, I find that USB Type-A slot a lot more useful then any USB Type-C slot for most occasions due to how outdated the company hardware are.

    The stylus is not Wacom EMR. It uses N-Trig so it uses a battery. However, the battery lasts for months. WRT your display issues regarding touch and the screen blemish, it seems you got a bad device. I rarely got stutters in Windows, so I really do think you got a lemon. (Not excusing Microsoft; they need much better QC for what these things cost.) You should try to get a replacement. You should be getting a much better experience.

      Jimmy Cerra I have owned a Surface Pro 2, a Surface Pro 4, a Surface Book, currently own a Surface Book 2 15" and have just bought a Surface Book 6. All of these have been immaculate out of the box, and I have never had a BSOD event on any of them. It is inevitable that some such lemons will get through. The majority who get on well with their machines probably never bother to post about it.

    The iPad Pros have a 4:3 ratio, not a 3:2 like the Surface Pro. The iPad Pro 11” has a slightly wider ratio than 4:3, but it is still far from a 3:2 ratio.

    • @FuryonKnight
      @FuryonKnight 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct, the the previous Ipads were 3:2 which = 16x12.03The new I pad at 2388x1668 = a slightly wider 16x11.18 but then again at 7:26 he calls the surface pro 6 a 13in. I like the guy but he obviously needs to do his homework as he is unintentionally giving bad information to the less informed

    Will be getting the Surface Pro 7 when it releases later in 2019. It will have USB C Charging which is more simpler, cheaper to replace, and faster at charging. The Pro 6 is ultra portable and perfect for students and for people to take around without the bulk of a 15' laptop. And the alcantara keyboard is cute and back lit. Even though it's sold separately, it offers choice on what colour keyboard you can choose from.

    I honestly don't get why people think they need touchpads that are the size of the screen or something... this is a touch screen, so if you combine the touch pad and the touch screen you can touch your heart out with this. The touchpad is plenty large enough. I'm also pretty sure that the pen won't work without batteries in it. It also has tons of pressure sensitivity and stuff. Yeah, the Apple pencil is better, but the new pen for the Surface is pretty solid.

    Considering upgrading my 4 yr old HP white laptop to this. PROS: Ultra portable, SD storage, perfect for school home and bus/train commute. CONS: (1) No dedicated GPU (2) Overpriced esp. keyboard/pen (3) Slow 1.something Ghz CPU, at least it's quad core (4) Keyboard and pen sold seperate (5) No USB C/USB 3.1, limited ports (6) Display is not anti-glare so will reflect like a mirror in sunlight. Even HP displays are anti-glare. The 128GB is going for NZ$1500 so waiting for sales later this year to get that or preferably the 256GB. Otherwise I could get an HP 15' Pavilion which has an i7 8550u and 512GB SSD with 2x USB 3.1 ports. One major pro with the pro 6 is it's not a behemoth like the average laptop.

    Those are not death pixels... it is actually dust inside the led diffuser layers. Awesome review, my hp omen pro is painted black and it is a dope color... also the best paint job on any laptop I've ever seen... two years and no scratches or even peeling paint, just as pristine as first day

    Love my SP6 but Microsoft support and quality is not great I think. In my case my unit had a battery issue, MS support promise me that they replace it for a new one because I report this just after purchase. They return a refurbished one with loose kickstand and artefacts on screen. Found many comments like this seems like a general issue that Microsoft usually replace units for refurbished ones.

    My tv has the cast feature for TH-cam built in. I want to get something that will allow casting chrome tabs to it. What can I get for that? Chromebook? Will I need a chrome cast as well. I don’t think so because for TH-cam it detects the tv on the iPad but can’t cast chrome tabs in iPad

    Hi there. Thanks for this review! Would you happen to know if Microsoft has already fixed the screen flickering issue on the Surface tablets? I currently have the SP4, and I like using it especially for illustratins, but after just a couple of hours use, the screen begins to flicker to the point where I can't work anymore. Would love to know if the newer models don't have this issue anymore, as these machines are pretty expensive. I hope you could make another update review, maybe mentioning this issue. Thanks, ZoneofTech!

    • @thatone3809
      @thatone3809 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      that was due to the design of the Surface Pro 4 specifically. Newer models have not been plagued by this.

    As a long-time SP3 user who's looking to upgrade, I'm going to hold off on the SP6 until MS offers a modern implementation.
    USB-C is no longer "coming", it's here and now. I don't want to invest in something without a certain level of future-proofing.
    Hopefully my SP3 stays strong until SP7 comes out.

    • @justing7490
      @justing7490 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Explain to me why it needs the port? Your devices come with usb-c to usb cables, so you're asking that they make you have to go out and buy new cables for no reason...
      As long as the USB port is 3.0+ it's fine.

    • @yamamancha
      @yamamancha 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@justing7490 Type C is 2x faster than the 3.0 used in the SP6. Type C also enables full charging or the use of a mobile charger in a pinch. You can also connect monitors using Type C. Keep one Type A port for current/legacy use but Type C vastly expands the usability and applicability of the Surface Pro.

    The SP6 is the perfect device for students. Absolutely unbeatable. Keep it on power saver and the battery will last a very long time. At home plug it in and jack up to high performance mode, and it runs plenty fast. Sure you can't do most 3D FPS style games on it (well maybe in low detail), but it can play any other game ever made. Add to that the stylus and touch screen on full style apps and it does anything I need!

    I think the MS Surface Pro 6 is the best device for students wich study science. Cause you can write on the surface an take your notes and although you have enough power to use some software like mathematica, matlab, or anything wich needs a bit more performance.

      Axnfell it has a full i5 8th gen and full windows home so yea. Obviously an i5 has its limitations, specially for heavy rendering projects and apps. But it also comes in with an i7. As he say though, its mostly a tablet that is a better laptop. And the best you can get out of the 2 in 1 per prior research.
