I'm working on removing the high pressure pump, and your video is a life saver. Finally, I have a confirmation that it's not timed and that I got all the bolts out, and it's normal for it to not come out too easy 😁
Really great video thanks! I've got an oil leak that I suspected was the vacuum pump (got a new gasket ready to go on), so good to hear you say it's a common fault. I replaced the thermostat last year and definitely the hardest part of accessing this area is dealing with all the pipes, hoses and wiring loom. Very helpful to see an engine out of the vehicle so you can show where everything is!
When re fitting the high pressure pump, would pumping the hand pump near the fuel filter be sufficient or would I trap air in the lines ? The seal has gone and is leaking oil down the back of the gearbox.
Hello martin, just as you finish the timing chain subject you spin the black pulley. What is that pulley, what im asking is where is the water pump. My van is 10plate 1.9cdti. Great instructional videos!! Regards chris
Great video. Seem like I may have some oil leak on the timing chain cover. Could you please make a video about that or any where that are potential for oil leak. thanks you
Hi Martin, really good video with hight value content ! hope i won't have to use it one day ^^. Keep going ! My turbo is on his way out, if you have any occasion to show how to change it it will be nice ;-)
Finally a well explained mechanical video no messing about Martin your a legend mate, wonder if you can help my situation, iv got a vauxhall movano 2.8 tdi the high pressure fuel injection pump is leaking under moving part on top of pump witch accelerator cable is attached too. I can see star head and nut screws so can i change a seal or will I have to buy second hand/ new one ? Thanks Martin if you have a garage I would be happy to pay you to do job. Let me know
V5 description :- vauxhall movano dti 3500 mwb 2799cc 2001, it has the old school key pully on top of high pressure pump so hopefully its a simple fix because new part is £3500, second hand £700 or refurbished is £400 but if I can change seal myself happy days Thanks for reply martin
Hi Martin, desperate for some expert advice, i have a 2008 traffic 2.0 dci. It's been laid up for 12 months cos of injector fault, thought it was time to get it sorted, fitted new battery and found starter would not crank engine. Bought new starter and fitted it(what a pig of a job) went to start and again starter sluggish wont even turn over engine. Checked engine was free, turned it over by hand with spanner on crank, fitted another new battery just in case 1st was bad still wont turn engine over although sounds like starter is turning but not the engine, have you any advise please, thanks Paul.
Any tips for doing the glow plugs? I've been spraying penetrating oil on them recently to help free them up, but do you have any advice? Also any good ideas for access, remove intercooler and top of bumper assembly?
@@MrLilygreen thanks for the reply. I actually did them a few weeks ago and they all came out fine! Sprayed them with penetrating spray a few times over the week prior. In the end I didn't even take the front end off, the access is fine once you remove the intake hoses and shift the fuel lines and loom.

Great video, I'm going to change the thermostat on my Renault espace. With the same engine. Seeing that the vac pump is not so scarry is good. 👍👍
Cheers Martin, another useful video for me, espacially the location of the cam & crank sensors.
thank you, you have helped me no end, about the high pressure pump got to say you are spot on.
Awesome, clear and easy explanation.
many thanks ,just taking my fuel pump off, very helpful.
grate video i would love to see the water pump change thank you

No that would be fine. Pump the priming bulb until it goes hard.

Can you clarify that's its a 2.8 , as I'm only aware that they are 2.5 or 2.3 .
Found out that my vauxhall movano 2.8ltr is a iveco engine.
Ah that explains it. Really sorry I can't really give good advice on Iveco engines. They didn't make many of those and I've never come across one.
Hi,What type of grease should you use on the vacuum pump seal?
is the High pressure diesel pump Timed on a Renault master III 2,3 Dci 165 RWD ? pls help

I've got a 2007 2.0l Vauxhall vivaro cdti fault code fuel temperature sensor any idea what this is?

The only advice I can give is be patient, yes soak in any lubricant is good and just work them back and fore but don't move them to much to quick

How about bleed the fuel / injectors ? Pls
