On the 2012 there's a shift cable clip on the engine side of the firewall, tucked way up underneath the insulation material. It's a pain, but if you feel around you can unclip the shift cables before starting to pull, and they will come out much easier (although it's still a pain). At least this is true on the manual I've been parting out-- I've read it's there on the autos as well, but haven't gotten there yet on my own swap. Thanks for the great series, been watching it all.
Are you sure there was no pilot bearing needed for this? Seems odd there wouldn't be? Looking forward to more of this! I really want to do this to my 2015 Focus Titanium. Like really bad. I would have when I rebuilt my motor and redid the automatic clutch, but couldn't find a donor anywhere by me at all, and needed to get my car going again.
Hey I have a question, I bought a new luk flywheel and compared to the oem one the center where the bolts go is different, can I still use the oem bolt or do I need to use the torx bolt off of a st
@BeeHouseFarms hi, to my knowledge the st flywheel isn't compatible, but if the bolt holes line up, yes definitely use the st bolts. And check if your mtx75 clutch will bolt up
Whoa now! Man did I miss a lot, that's neat. Though I got a dilemma on my hands, I need to change my work vehicle (as much as I love my 300 touring L AWD, the cost is too much a month) though I have to really think hard, 2.0 5 spd, or the 1.0 6 spd. As you see those things day in and out which would you suggest? I know of the belts and an turbo for the 3 Cyl, but Carbon build up is something I'd expect either way. Though I have to say the 1.0 sounds like a mini straight six which makes it sound nicer lol.
This question has notting go do with this procedure, but my focus keep changing my settings from miles per gallon, to kilometer per liter all by himself, there's something that I can do?
@luislopezPerraxO try unhooking the battery for an hour, If that doesn't fix it try resetting the ipc with forscan. Oh and make sure the battery isn't dying
@GREGHOLUB no problem ask away. I would get one from a focus, the mtx is a very good transmission. I think the Fiestas use a b5. And I'm uncertain if it's the same bolt pattern or not. I'm pretty new at this custom type work.
Its my understanding the ST 6-speed has a different bolt pattern. Also, the 6 speed wasn't an option in programming if i recall correctly. Though, that may not matter much as you can just tell it its a 5 speed and it wont know.
A sane person would swap engines. This dude is swapping the Trans while converting to Manual. While I appreciate the technical ability of the tech, I question the profit/loss scenario. The aforementioned slippage issues likely could have been avoided by replacing both the input and output speed sensors. {often damaged when the car is operated without the splash shield}.
Thanks Ben for all the infomrative videos, Patron Saint of the Foci.

I'm glad there was a mention of my suffering with the flywheel bolts so hopefully others don't have the same issue lol
amazing
You’re going to have one hell of a dependable car. 👍
Looking forward to it!
Thumbs up man!
Thank you!

@@nicksimadis2086 hi! Yeah, the input shaft has no pilot on it. Just the splines, and that ends in the clutch
@BigBensCarsAndCycles seems like a little bit of a poor design on the MTX-75, unfortunately!
A like for the Sam Adams 😂😂😂
Ive recently done the swap and i'm missing the wire of reverse lamp switch and rear parking aid if you have any idea
@@MG-fk1qb I would get the connector from a junkyard for like 5 dollars
@BigBensCarsAndCycles I have the connector but I don't know where to find the wire that go with it
@@MG-fk1qb should be able to help in my discord, with wiring diagrams

Yea the clutch lines up perfectly but the bolts just seem to long for the luk flywheel
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles I have the luk dmf160 flywheel

@@BigBensCarsAndCycles Awesome thanks!, good luck with the swap! can't wait to see the end result!

Hey Ben sorry for so many questions but my next question is, would the 5 speed manual out of the Ford Fiesta work / be compatible year 2012-2018?

Hey Ben would it be different if I used a manual 6 speed transmission?

Actually after doing more digging, i may be wrong on that. Still though, the mtx75 seems like a much more reliable transmission than the 6 speed
@@BigBensCarsAndCyclesthank you my local pull aparts only had a 6speed manual transmission I will keep searching! Thank you

Flashlight, but pronounce the A as an E and then have a funny word, too.

@ALPHAOMEGA-x4u Not sure I follow. Thanks for watching
Think he's keeping the car for himself not to try to make money. He now knows what's in it. Will last maybe rest of life.
