I believe you also need the tower beneath the manual shifter as well. I could be wrong about that, but the last person I saw do this had to get it as well.
You have no idea how much this is helping me plan my build. 🙏 I would to pick your brain on this swap, I am planning on doing a manual swap for my 2.0 ecoboost however it’s on a 2013 Lincoln MKZ. I know I would need different size axles, axle bracket, and possibly custom clutch and shifter lines. But I wondered about the PCM and how I would react to removing the auto. Also the clutch start how that would work.
My local U Pull went from having 6 Fiesta's to 0 Fiestas, within a month. All I managed to get, were a straight pair of hood hinges from an Outrageous Green Fiesta.
@@BigBensCarsAndCyclesLuckily I don't actually need anything else right now, except better tires than the stock Hankook Optimo's. Optimo's are great until we get some ice and snow.
Hey great video! I was wondering if the proccess would be mostly the same for a 2018 ford fiesta, as the dct doesnt want to drive anymore, as well as preferring manual. gonna be watching the next videos!
@@BeeHouseFarms I got the focus today. The weather's gonna be hell tomorrow working outside. You should join the discord group, lots of helpful info there for that
I am in South Carolina but the swap ended up costing me a little over 1400 but I bought the flywheel new and got a transmission with only 15k miles on it that’s the expensive stuff plus I re did all the suspension
Just came across your channel. Can this swap be done on a 2014 Ford Escape 2.0L Ecoboost 6f35 junk trans? If not, is there anything less troublesome than the 6f35 to transplant into the 2014 Escape?
Hey Ben I have a 2013 Ford focus titanium my transmission just went and I was looking to do a manual swap I was wondering what did the parts run you from the junkyard about?
Hi, 250 at the junkyard then I bought axles, master/slave, clutch kit.. all in all close to 700. Now I might be able to sell the automatic for 700 so it may be a wash
@BigBensCarsAndCycles wow that's not bad at all now is there a way to tell if the manual transmission is good or bad at the junkyard or is it just a 50-50 chance?
Why would you want to do this to your focus, also is the manual transmission better than the dps6 transmission in terms of reliability and problems that occur
You are doing more in this series than Ford has done the entire lifetime of the automatic glass transmission.
It is going to be an incredible series
Ben, you are the man! Can't wait to see how this turns out. You are a pro at making these videos as well, so glad I found your channel!
Gonna be doing this swap sometime soon, thanks for your intel and guidance!!
Been waiting for this video since I bought the car in 2015!
Awesome! Next video on the swap should be out by the end of the week!

@thatlincoln4014 hi, new videos coming soon! You should see if that's the same bolt pattern as the focus ST!
I will be following this closely as I will be doing this at some point

That's too bad!

I just did this same exact swap on my car I’m here if you need any help
@zachmercier1034 much appreciated! Do you want to join the discord group? If so the link is on my channel
U will need a new center console and a bracket that sits on the bottom of the shifter
Zach, thank you for your feedback how much did the swap end up costing, also I have to ask what state are in hopefully Northern CA

@zetamale7952 yeah, i don't see why not! Make sure you can get a pair of axles for whatever transmission you're getting.
I wonder how much would it cost to get this kind of job done, including labor and parts!
if you can even find a shop that would do that
I'd say 15-20 hours of labor, and then the parts. So it wouldn't be cheap.

I need to replace the motor mounts but am not sure if it’s safe to buy after market motor mounts.. any ideas? 2014 Ford Focus SE HATCHBACK
That's fine to get aftermarket ones for
Do you have the list of part needed for that please ?
@daniel-oliviermoreau8584 yes. In the discord group, link in description
@daniel-oliviermoreau8584 ill also be adding a link to another list in the video description
internal slave 🤮 and holy cow that dual clutch fluid is expensive! hope it goes smoothly for you
@@BUTTER_BOLT thanks. You can get 75w80 gl4 on amazon for 11 bucks a quart and use it in the mtx75 or dps6
Part 2?
@o_Arthur_Cunha it's on the playlist. It's called "mtx75 teardown" and part 3 is coming tomorrow

It's a bajillion times more reliable than the auto. The 2.0L 5 speed focus is one of the most reliable cars on the planet
