Roller Painting Our Sprinter Van for $200 USD: DIY Paint Job For Sprinter Conversion

- We decided it was time for an exterior van makeover! In this video, we walk you through the process of doing body work on our T1N sprinter van before we get started on DIY painting our sprinter van. We decided on roller painting our sprinter van because it would have cost thousands to get it re-sprayed by a professional. We are thrilled with the results of our van's transformation for such little money.
Disclaimer: we are not experts by any means, but we wanted to share our experience in case we are able to help you avoid any mistakes we made
We used 1 gallon of Krylon Oil Based Rust paint and Xylene at a ratio of about 15% to thin our paint. To roller paint the van we used high density foam rollers and a foam brush for the detail work.
We coated the bottom of our Sprinter van in an EZ Liner truck bed liner. But if we had time to order ahead, we would have used Raptor Coat.

We recommend giving yourself at least a week to complete this job, as it is not a one-day job. The more time you give your paint to dry between coats, the better your result will be.

Great job. Gloss black wheels would really finish it off.

The best part of this video was watching you peel the tape off - so satisfying! :D
It was sooooo satisfying!
LOOKS FANTASTIC!!!
Appreciate it!
@@kristascompass Any rust on the frame, mounts...? Where'd you get your van?
No frame rust, there was some surface rust on the edge. We got it out of Texas where it spent its whole life, we mainly shopped in dry areas to reduce likelihood of rust. With the amount of time it took to do the rust repair, I would definitely recommend getting one with as least rusty as possible, even if it means flying somewhere to get it 😊
@@kristascompass I'm on my second T1N - sold the first because of frame rust. Didn't really understand it the first time around...
Darn that’s rough! I hope your new one is less rusty :)
I so. Love this Chica ❤❤❤ you go beautiful lady
awe thanks for watching!

Do you happen to know what year this T1N body Dodge Sprinter 2500 with the 140" wheelbase & the high roof is? Since this one is badged as a Dodge, it would be a 2003-2006 model year.
It’s 2003 :)
Did anyone else enjoy the tape peeling!
Was the best part!
