Bringthe air intake for the diesel heater INSIDE... Easy to do. That will keep it from freezing up/getting plugged with road grime, and draw a ton of condensation out of your van... I have been running mine this way for 5 years.

Such a stunning landscape and Aurora and foxes and muskox and were those ptarmigans? That last stretch into Prudhoe Bay was frightening, I have a friend who lived in northern Alberta who has described trying to drive in this sort of icy conditions, does not sound like fun at all. In the end the trip looks like it is worth it, what an adventure!!

You are brave to take a old vehicle to such a cold and desolate place even if you have a a ton of money to call for help You're far away from someone fixing it and getting parts just saying you are.
