Years ago I painted my EJ Holden panel van with Camouflage Green British Paint (house paint) with a brush. I put the car in the sun 25° C Australia. Put the paint on a bit thick. The heat made the paint smooth out to the point you had to get within 6 inches to see lite brush marks. I was very happy untill I parked it in the bush and when I returned I started to think someone had stollen my car untill I saw a reflection off one of the windows. 😂😂
T@theaussienurseflipper.8113 That's a great story. Paint must have gone on pretty thick to ripple. I am glad you didn't drive at 100kph in reverse to get the ripples out.
Don't try painting this colour outside during the uk summer. Flies can't resist it. Years ago whist working fo british coal I was given a painting job to do. I had to paint 4 inch pipes yellow as they were to be used for methane. It was summer and once the flies found us that was it. Luckily the painting wasn't for cosmetic purpose so no real harm done. A van paint job is another story.
Overall an improvement at a distance, but the non smooth imperfections would drive me mad, I once was convinced by a painter a decorator to do this to an old car when I was young and more self conscious of what other people thought, did not like the effect as it looked cheap. But its a personal perspective thing.
That came out looking new enough. No crazy fumes where you dont need a mask? And I just look up coach paint? I know you showed the can but it didnt say enamal or acrylic, i dont know what I'm doing or details. These results though are all need for my cracking clear coat hood.
Better to add oil to the surface than heating to bring out existing oil. I did my van’s running boards with oil months ago and they are still like new.
hi mate. just some basic questions i bought old van want to brighten it up a bit, but for health reasons want to make it as simple as possible really aint too fussed about the outcome. I'd really appreciate your help. 1. can i just do a simple sand using those sponge type sander or do i need electric sander 2. what grade of sandpaper 3. what type of paint 4. what type of roller?can i use a small one 5. how many coats. cheers!!
I wouldn’t do that either my T5 has a pop top that’s black and I’m going to get the top wrapped in body colour (white) because it get vey warm in the summer.
I painted a Nissan truck years ago with a foam roller. Three coats. Sanded about 1/2 of the orange peel after coats 1 and 2. Last coat let it be. Make sure to let the paint dry well before sanding
TH-camrs always seem to think they are DJs as well ..... Most of them ruin a good video this way , I've no idea what this bloke said as I watched the video in bits with the sound off ..... That's the only way to watch videos like this .
Good job that im not youtuber, just a guy who uploads videos once in while. Also never claimed to be dj and have to use some music on time lapse parts, otherwise it would be too boring. Appreciate your comment. Thanks ☺️

Good video mate

Look at the paint on the drive 😮
It had few drops. White spirit helped to clean it off.
AA ready for any breakdown 🤣. Good job.

Well never looked at tin so dont know exactly what it was but they stink, cant be acrylic
Well done
What kind of paint did you use? Is it gloss enamel? Could you give it a go with 1800 and then buff it to make it shiny?
Some clear coat applied the same way would be interesting....
You could go over all the plastics...bumpers, door handles etc with a heat gun 🔫🔥 it brings the plastic back to black from grey 🤷♂️
Makes the plastic brittle by bringing the oils out of the plastic. Don’t do it
He should paint the windows yellow to

3 coach paint
4 short bristle roller
5 two coats
Hi did you add any thinners or straight out the tin good video 👍
Straight out of thin. One thick layer
What roller is it ? And paint
Just normal foam roller and coach paint
Would like to know which roller and which make paint
All explained in video at the end.
A black roof will be bad as will get very very hot in the summer sunlight
Hello did you sand it only with a 600 sandpaper?
i have tried 600 grit but to much hustle so changed to green Scotchbrite pad.
Rain + Car wash will smooth out the orange peel
Great job 👍🏼. Did you use thinners with the paint?
What paint do you use
Hello friend, what kind of paints did you use? acrylic?
Coach paint from ebay
Black roof? Won't that attract/hold the heat during the summer?

Ghastly music always ruins a good video, why do it?
Music is same as color or smell, everyone is different. Some might like some don't. 😊
