Hello! Thanks so much for all the info. Gonna do this myself in a couple of weeks. Just wondering how the paint has held up?? I'm in Ireland, so similar enough weather to you! Thanks 😊
You're welcome ☺ I mean it had been holding up really well but then I had to slip into a bush when someone was in the middle off the road so he's got a lot of scratches now. It's not the hardest wearing when it comes to bushes but it holds great, doesn't flake at all and minimal prep. Perfect for a budget build. Raptor is what you want for a really strong coat but it does cost more.
We bought from ebay, I think it was 'Trade Paints'. If I recall we read forums of people not using a primer and having great results so that's what we did. If you have the budget then priming will certainly give you a better lasting result. I can't say Bruce is perfect 10 months on but that's because we drive through pretty crazy roads so he gets scratched up by bushes and trees all the time. Most of the scratches are a light green and come off when we wash him, but some are deeper. Whether primer would prevent this I do not know. Again, if you have the budget then probably a good idea to do everything you can to prolong the paintjob.
@@TheWoodlandNomad thankyou for your reply again. Aslong as the paint isn't flaking away I'm expecting to get a few scratches. Just need to get welding done and lots of it.

It'll never stop rust in that sense I'm afraid mate. It's really just for surface rust. Something like a wheel arch will have rust coming from all angles. It's best used on areas where paint has chipped and made a little spot of rust. It's more of a plaster than a fix, it'll allow paint to bond and then every year or so it'll need treated again. Rust is a bugger.
A little warning to all with this paint, its 2022 and the paint isn't the same as it use to be,ie,thinned down,so beware, also it take a week or so to harden, thats totally different to touch/dust dry(1-2hrs),do not it anyway touch it,or run your hand or rag etc over it,otherwise it'll mark and look horrid

@@brettmanvalleyvan Really odd, not sure why that happens. Guess we just need to keep checking manually! Congrats on the new subs :) You guys watched our new intro video? Matty is dead happy with it :) xx
@@TheWoodlandNomad it's class guy's, very inspiring 👍🏻 we'll have a go one day 🙈😂😂😂💙✌️
That cure rust is rubbish, I used it for my wheel arches and it does nothing to stop the rust coming back at all.
❤️
Kurust? It's a Transit, your gonna need a bigger bottle! Lol
Haha indeed. Just spent £1000 on welding for his last MOT :o
That's why I bought a galvanised Renault trafic! 😄
Good choice! I hear they best combo you can get is a Renault van with a transit engine. A match made in heaven 😁
2:06 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂 I think every show should use that sound effect instead of bleeps 😝
A little warning to all with this paint, its 2022 and the paint isn't the same as it use to be,ie,thinned down,so beware, also it take a week or so to harden, thats totally different to touch/dust dry(1-2hrs),do not it anyway touch it,or run your hand or rag etc over it,otherwise it'll mark and look horrid
Thanks for the heads up! Nothings like it used to be anymore is it? Always trying to get more money out of us.

Thanks Paul. We'll be sure to check out her channel when we have another TH-cam binge 😁
Why wash it then sand it down🤣🤣🤣🤣
To reduce the amount of sandpaper needed. No senses clogging up the paper with dirt, grime and algae when you could remove a lot of it with a quick wash first.
