That was honestly the one scene I agree with Cosmo about. It felt so weird and random. I completely disagree with him that it was too long. It's meant to feel more like a miniseries, NOT a movie. I don't know what the fuck he's getting on about it not feeling episodic, cuz it absolutely did.

Honestly,it puts more weight behind Aquaman taking more responsibility. He's been bitching about being an orphan prince, mean while he notices that this kid is stepping up to save the world after losing his parents, his body, and his normal life.
A little disappointed that Batman didn’t confronted Victor about seeing his own parent die in front of his eyes. Batman is the only person who knows best how it feels (well yes Aquaman also can relate to them but he didn’t exactly saw his mother die in front of his eye like Batman and Cyborg)
I just loved that they felt like an actual team, not just a few strangers who met a few days ago. You get to see them working together(before the final fight) and actually have conversations and get to know each other. One of my favorite scenes is just when Arthur and Barry are talking about Cyborg's dad dying. You get to see that Arthur cares alot more than he lets on and him and Barry are getting more acquainted
I laughed really hard at the end when j'onn went "btw i'm martian manhunter" at the very end of their conversation and just leaves and batman goes back to bed
There are videos that stated Snyder originally wanted Green Lantern meeting Bruce for the end scene, but WB wouldn't allow him to use GL, so he used Martian Manhunter instead.
It cracks me up when the Humans are hiding the motherbox. Atlanteans: Under the sea, in the lair of a giant squid. Amazon's: In a pyramid with multiple traps and defenders. Humans: "Let's dig a 2 foot hole in the woods."
@@lauxbonet4475 Lmao. Humans are like Patrick Star. They are so dumb but in the end are the geniuses and the voice of reason because everyone else was overcomplicating things. Its like that one time were Nasa spent a billion dollars to make the ultimate space pen when all the Russians did was bring a regular number 2 pencil 🤣
9:07 i really liked the part where flash is shown starting to panic and batman tells him to save 1 person and he’ll see what he’s capable of and find his confidence in the original justice league because it really fit to the characters (surprisingly) but the pace was really odd knowing people were dying at the same time. cyborg saving his dad in the snyder cut and then everyone staying alive makes more sense but i would’ve loved being able to see both
That was kind of the DCEU issue: lack of individual movies building the characters. To use a Marvel metaphor, they started with Captain America: The First Avenger, skipped to The Avengers, skipped to Age of Ultron, then were surprised when we didn't care. That scene of the Flash being uncertain should've happened in his standalone movie, where he's terrified of his powers (will I also age super fast? Does running fast hurt my body in any way? etc.), and then something happens - e.g. massive factory fire in a sweatshop with no exit. Some old guy with a cane yells in anguish something like "my daughter!" and tries to hobble in to save her - and Barry stops him. He tells himself "I'll just save one. One person." then he finds the daughter and brings her out... But as he runs to her, he slo-mo sees everyone terrified and dying, and after saving the daughter goes "okay, just 2. I can save 2... maybe another. One more." And before he realizes it he's saved everyone. Boom, character arc, individual movie.
@@ha-kh7ef None obviously, unless you want to count Uma Thurman speaking out against him due to that car stunt he forced upon her. Not sexual harassment, but he’s been accused of being abusive.

16:35 I recently watched the Snyder Cut (all 4 hours at once) without ever watching the original or even knowing much about the original and I FUCKING LOVED the Snyder Cut
So did I, I haven’t ever seen the original but I have heard how bad it is so I never watched it. But I watched Snyder’s without every watching the original and it was really good still.
I genuinely turned the theatrical cut off when Superman says the quirky oneliner "I believe in the truth, but i'm also a big fan of justice". That was my limit. That's _stupid._ That was written by someone whos knowledge of Superman is "saw a poster of him once"
I watched both on release and couldn’t stand either of them. Snyder cut still has a lot of the OG shit I despised and 4 hours of a Snyder movie with his style is too much
I will agree the original cut of Ben Affleck in JL was wrong. Ben Affleck under Snyder acts nothing like Kevin Conroy Batman. Kevin Conroy Batman is more true to Batman of the comics then Ben Affleck Batman
Can anyone compliment Steppenwolf's redesign? He went from wrinkly old man with chin spikes to horror voldemort nose creature. Fucking love it, and love the fact that he actually has a reason for being the bad guy, and not just the plot demanding it.
Just a note on the color thing. I'm a diver and Mera's hair not looking red is actually a really clever and accurate choice. The deeper you go underwater, the more the light is blocked by water, and the more the different colors disappear. That's why divers will often carry flashlights in order to be able to see all the natural colors again. Red is in fact the first color to go, so the fact that her hair had a more blue greyish tone is totally accurate. At a significant depth, it will also be so dark that there is very little ambient light penetrating from the surface, hence the darkness of the scene, and a very monotone color scheme. If you actually pay attention to her fight scene with Steppenwolf, every time the light from his axe is close enough to light her up significantly, you do actually see the colors in her armor and hair return. Just thought I'd put that out there. I thought it was an awesome little detail.
Thank you for that detail, that's a genuinely interesting fact I didn't know! I still think this is one of those filmmaking choices where it's better to ignore accuracy though (with it being a comic book movie with flying people, superspeed people, and english-speaking aliens) for a more visually engaging image. It really robs the movie of energy and life to be that desaturated, because even the non-underwater scenes are that colorless, and that's not realistic at all.
@@HovercraftEDM that part I understand. 😁 I absolutely think it's not for everyone. I personally really like it. I like the darker, grittier and more mature tone both in color and feel that has been set for the DCEU. It's something, that I feel, sets it apart from the MCU. I didn't mind the very bright and oversaturated colors they have for the Marvel movies, but I really didn't like it when they did the same for the theatrical release of Justice League. It just took away from it's "world on the brink of destruction" feeling for me.
My favorite way to describe the Whedon cut is that it’s a 2 hour trailer for the Snyder cut. It’s got a handful of those cool moments and a bunch of stuff that makes no sense without the proper context and scenes that aren’t in the final cut.
Yesss. U get to go through all sorts of emotions with them. Here is mine reaction too “Don’t Count In It, Batman” | Zack Snyder’s Justice League (Snyder Cut) Reaction - PART 1 th-cam.com/video/D0tfQ-QqKEo/w-d-xo.html
By the way, people always praised Whedon for being "the guy" who knew how to make different characters play on each other and work together. This movie shows otherwise
Totally agree, in the original all the members of the league feel pointless and that their sole purpose was bringing superman back so he can save the day and do all the job, in this one everyone has something to do and they actually work togheter, massive improvement there
Finally, in this movie The Flash isn't the butt-end of jokes, he's integral to the climax, as well as everyone else. That scene when he rewinds time was so creative, i loved it.
Flash was given the honors of actually doing "Super Heroism". It's a mix of "Of course he could do that" with "Oh my God! He actually did that! Oh shit. Imagine the other things that he would do." That act alone was a jumpstart of anything a good DC writer could imagine. A good DC writer. Heh... funny.
Unpopular opinion but I loved steppenwolf as a character in the snyder cut. He was ruthless and tough but also vulnerable and sympathetic. He had motivations and his facial expressions were terrific
''Unpopular opinion'' To be honest, that is _not_ an unpopular opinion, you are not alone! In fact, it is such a popular opinion it is the source of multiple memes _(Namely Steppenwolf just wanting to go back home, etc)_
Rewatching it today (this is gonna be weird) the most impressive thing about Steppenwolf was the way his lips were animated. They looked really good. Not in a wierd way.. in a- in a 'they talk good' way. ye.
@Doelroarpa he just wanted to go home. He made mistakes and tried to redeem himself. We can all relate and sympathize with someone that just wants to go home.
@@jonnyirish306 he is in a lower position of contouring and enslaving people, but wants to be at his higher position of conquering and enslaving said people. I can not begin to tell you how unsympathetic it is. And it's all told to us in these extremely embarrassing scenes with Desaad where the two of them just scream things the both of them already know at each other, and that's it really. When I heard he'd have this motive going into the film, I was actually excited to see some complexity to his, but that really is it. He's just as simple as "wah I want to back to conquering and enslaving with my family of enslavers and make the world a worse place from a position of power, I was once in until I did that one unspecific thing that's never elaborated on" as is told in the most clunky exposition heavy scenes I think I've ever seen, it was geniunly cringe enducing. Bruh, even Thanos and Killmonger believe that they genuinely are doing what they're doing for the greater good. I really wanted to like this movie, but there's just nothing here. It's literally just josstice league but with more problems.
This has to be the most feel good redemption story of the past 5 years. I mean, they also raised money for suicide awareness and he dedicated the movie to his daughter. That’s gotta pull on the heart strings at least a little bit
@@whodatninja439 I'm not being quiet. All power to Zack Snyder, and I'm awfully sorry for what happened to his daughter, but his films are not good. And the Snyder Cut is not the exception to that. In fact, it basically confirms what everybody has criticised his films for. Way too excessive in its visuals and not a lot to chew on writing-wise; despite the pretense that his films have some meat on their bones when they rarely if ever do.
I really thought Snyder was out of his mind with what he did to Cyborg and Flash because they were truly awful in the original cut. After seeing the Snyder Cut, and then I IMMEDIATELY watched the studio cut, I realize how much the studio and Joss actually gaslit the entire public about Joss coming in to “fulfill Snyder’s vision”. The studio cut is so bad the reshoots are JARRING how bad they are.
Yeah it is insane how Cyborg and Barry got lobotomized in the theatrical cut. And instead of Character development for them we get 3 scened with random Russians, who serve literally no purpose.
pretty insane to me that it took this movie actually coming out just for people to be suddenly somehow surprised by things that are so jarringly obvious snyder fans have been pointing them out since 2017.
This is what we fans said back in 2017. We even pointed out how they meddled with suicide squad. For this we were mocked and made fun of years and years.
you people are insane the character writing is awful ._. if the Whedon cut never existed this Snyder cut would be torn to shreds lol. improving upon shit isn't something to be praised
Reason Cyborg barely had a story in the theatrical release was because Joss Whedon didnt get along with Ray Fisher, so now Cyborg's story becomes the heart of the film
Now that the Snyder cut is out, it's understandable to see why. His character went from being the heart of the film, to being almost inconsequential in the original cut
I may be wrong, but I believe cyborg's backstory was filmed before Snyder left... so basically Joss Whedon screwed over ray fisher hense the not getting along
No it was taken out because Geoff Johns Toby Emmerich & Jon Berg said “we can’t angry black man at the center of a movie”. Of course Zack ain’t have a say so far as Joss taking over so dey told Joss to take his scenes out.
So from all the pieces of info..., I gather that The writers failed to do their job and give a better story to one of the movie's protagonist, so they chose to enable Whedon behavior towards Fisher and get him cut out of the movie as much possible.
@@xthelegend89 completely agree tbh. A lot of my personal other issues match up with the characters from previous films. Like I personally can't stand the messiah kill bill small brained take Zack does with Supes and to hear the others talk about him like he was some champion for all and a friend to your average Joe, it really sits wrong with me because you never see that save for the only superman thing he does in Shazam If I were to show this movie to my gf I'm sure she would think it was p cool having not seen the other movies, but for me its still dragged down by his general direction style and characterization.
@@brandonsclips7741 I said the exact same thing to a snyder fan, along with the whole apocalyptic destruction supes caused and how fking stupid it is, and they tell me that heroes make mistakes, and it's an origin. That has to be the dumbest shit Ive ever heard lmao
That's the best way to watch it. A lot of the first three hours of this move are just the original movie with some extra scenes so it can feel repetitive if you've watched the old one.

There just wasn't much significant chemistry which I think was a problem. They just kinda... say what they need to do and go do it, so it's just straight up exposition. Not much real character outside of Flash, and Flash's personality was grating half the time. I get that this is supposed to be more serious and intense, but that can be done without just turning the interactions into board room meetings. It really is "getting to business" in an extremely literal sense.
I definitely agree that this was far better than the original. It’s a shame that it’s so long, which probably scares a lot of people off, but it definitely told a superior story.
I agree with him that a 3 hour cut of this one would be the perfect version of the film. Three hours is still a lot, but it is justified due to all the work it has to do, thanks to a lack of individual films beforehand.
@@jimmy22334 I recall, at the time it was being made, Snyder had a three hour cut he intended for theatrical release. I agree that would have been necessary for theaters, but the nature of streaming allowed him to release a full cut.
It’s not like there’s loads of blood and they don’t pan in on the violence like Logan so the R rating isn’t really earned and there’s only two f bombs and I’m pretty sure everyone by the age of 12 has heard of it. I feel like anyone who’s at least 12/13 can watch it
@@joeyjerry1586 it had nothing to do with an r-rated look at joker or Deadpool and logan they are truly r-rated. Is it me or in Zack Synder justice league they had some awesome CGI shots but then at other times it had really bad CGI shots it really pulled me out of the movie
I mean, Thanos’ arm (and head) was cut off in Endgame but that wasn’t rated R. TBH, the rating scale for violence is really fucked. The ratings board is far more willing to give a movie with overtly sexual themes an R rating over a hyper-violent one.
I'm surprised you didnt bring up the "For Autumn." That tragedy, Zack's depression, and his dedication to getting this film out despite not being paid to do so and because he wants to provide for the fans... what a mad lad. Major respect to Zack May Autumn rest in peace. I'm sure she would've been proud
This is the big one when it comes to Snyder. You can not like his style or his movies in general, you can even not like his vision (even though it's become apparent he did have a cohesive, long-term narrative in mind for the DC movies) but you've got to respect the grind this man goes on for his art. Especially after everything in his life that got in the way, to come back and finish this and release it in memoriam for his daughter and to make it nearly as good as a film this large could possibly be, despite not being given any financial or career incentive to do so is the kind of stuff the entertainment industry needs more of. This was a true passion project and it shows in the way people have received it that the process and intent in this production were a huge part of the quality of the final product.
@@rileyolson6008 At the same time it all proved the point. You can't "fix" Zack Snyder's vision and bring in billions of dollars because you bring MCU director who saturates up image and brings few quips with him. You let The Mann to do his job. Also ZSJL is second DC film that he has writing credits in, besides Wonder Woman 2017. So people that say he is bad as a *Writer* should also eat shit.
This is why I love you...you admit when you are wrong...and you dont hate on things out of some contrarian sense like a lot of critics do...cough HighTop Films...cough

No one's gonna talk about the scene where Barry saved all those people from the falling debris? Well... That was one of the coolest fucking shots in any superhero movie I have ever seen.
They were a lot of things I liked about how Badass they all looked, but I really didn't like the debris falling stuff. I don't know, I think the shot in the angle didn't make it all that impressive. His last feat tho (which I won't spoil for anything who haven't seen it yet) was fucking dope and made him look soooooo cool. But this one rely on slowmo a bit. Just.... Well it's super Badass.
I love the saving Iris scene. I feel it's on par with the Quicksilver one, yeah quicksilver's the best and the coolest but this one is different cause it is beautiful. The music does the magic
Personally, I'm actually thankful Josstice League came out. After fans saw how the Justice League became even more horrendous, they trly realized how better Snyder's vision was. If Snyder's came out in 2017, people would still have hated on it simply because it was Zack Snyder.
But if the original cut that he had made came out back then, it wouldn't have been this 4 hour masturbatory slow-mo riddled nightmare, it would have been a messy 2 hour 20 minute rush to establish Steppenwolf (with the same original design BTW) as a threat when Darkseid was supposed to be the original antagonist until they decided he had to be the most powerful being in creation & wanted to set up a follow up where the extended Justice League have to battle him alone (which was also changed thanks to Thanos). It would have been Fant4stic levels of fucked up with the continuity of the reshoots after they pivoted to match Wonder Woman's tone. The only reason half of the Snyder cut exists as it does is because the internet literally gave them the power of hindsight, with years to work on the movie outside of a definitive release date & traditional theater release, they could literally stalk through Reddit and Twitter and specifically tweak the story to avoid people's complaints.
People wouldn’t have hated on it “just because it’s Snyder” 😭 they would’ve hated on it because the movie is just alright… Joss’ version coming out first just made Snyders look comparatively better, but it’s still kinda “eh”.
@Whiteytheripper lol none of this is accurate. Yea the snydercut would have been different but it still would have been roughly 3 hours long and similar to BvS would have probably released a director's cut that was 214 minutes long since that's what snyder teased for years. Yes some Geoff John's dialogue would have been in the movie that we saw in the OG trailers back in 2017 but no Darkseid was always in the movie snyder had previz of him in the history scene. This cut would not have existed sure but it still would have been significantly better than what we got from joss whedon. Also snyder didn't reshoot anything outside of adding the epilogue with the knightmare stuff. The rest of it he and the actors are on record as saying he shot different versions of scenes during filming behind the studios back and he used only his shit for this movie. Like the aquaman batman scene. He didn't rework shit he just used the take he wanted vs the one he did with Geoff John's dialogue.
No they wouldn't. If Snyder had been able to release the film in 2017, the best case scenario is that it would've been cut down by at least an hour and a lot of the best moments would've been removed for pacing reasons. WB would never have let Snyder release a four hour summer blockbuster. Worst case scenario, it would have been even worse than the Whedon cut. Why do I say "worse than the Whedon cut"? Because the creative decisions that led to the theatrical cut being Like That were almost all made by WB executives, not Whedon himself, and Snyder's film would probably have been subjected to the same meddling if he'd stayed on for the entire project. Whedon, whatever else you can say about him, has a lot of experience doing emergency rewrites on troubled productions and working on MCU films. Snyder does not. If Snyder had stayed on and had to turn Justice League into a two-hour MCU clone, the result probably would've been an even bigger mess.
When you mentioned the part where flash lands on Diana’s boobs I was like: “oh that reminds me of that one part in Avengers: Age of Ultron where Bruce lands on Black Widow’s boobs.” Then I realize that Joss directed BOTH those movies. I guess he really likes that joke.
@@slipknotter I can’t say “for real”.... had to say “alleged” 😂 Google his controversies, apparently quite the few female co-workers uncomfortable around him etc.
@@CTheRobot I don’t have a source for this but supposedly Gal Gadot was uncomfortable with the scene of Flash falling on her boobs, but Mr. Whedon absolutely needed this scene to be in the movie so he used one of Gal’s stunt doubles.
“Faith, Alfred. Faith.” I love Batfleck’s character arc from Batman vs Superman to Justice League. In BvS, he was broken, hateful, and alone. But, Superman’s sacrifice showed him that there’s still good in the world. In Justice League, he’s rejuvenated and enjoys the company of others. He believes in the team, the people around him, he cares for all of them. The final scene with Bruce standing outside, smiling and looking at the sunset, that was brilliant. He knew his parents were proud of him, and he finally found peace.

I think the smartest decision Zach Snyder made with this film was to divide it into segments. Seeing that his movie was four hours long, he KNEW people would want to take at least one break, so he divides it into four chapters, allowing the viewer to pause between acts if they need a break. This is genius, because the acts are also structured like episodes of a TV show, where it doesn't feel disruptive if you turn the movie off after the end of an act. It made it MUCH easier for my parents and I to watch when the movie came out, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought that Scandinavian song and every scene with Lois was weird. I’m glad J’onn is the chillest, nicest dude in the universe. And I’m glad Snyder acknowledges how broken the Flash is being the Universal Reset Button. No “oh, but it’ll be at a cost”-nonsense. Speed Force helps reload from previous save. Deal with it, villains.
@@gazyng not really. He's certainly incredibly powerful, but I don't think you could say he's more powerful than some of the Cosmic/Godly characters like the Endless or the Presence
if you found scenes with Lois weird then you just slept through previous movies. She is a very important character its there to show her turmoil during all this.
@ZOAD TAUFIQUR I agree with your summation of the purpose of her scenes (to show her inner turmoil), but I feel like that is useless, as we need to care about Amy Adam's version of the character, to begin with. I would argue that for me and many others; we were not able to at least care (for Adam's rendition).
Let me put it this way, I can think of more memorable scenes in the Snyder Cut than I can in the original version. In the original version, the only memorable scene was Superman turning his head towards the Flash. In the Snyder Cut, the choices are numerous.
This really sums it up for me. I remember that scene so vividly in the original cut but in the new cut it is just one of many memorable scenes. That is a damming verdict on the original! Also I actually felt something while watching the new cut, not second hand embarrassment which I felt all the way through the original
I agree. In the DCEU there is generally at least one memorable scene per film, that will be remembered by ages (Clark's first flight, No Man Land, Warehouse fight, Arthur putting on his suit for the first time, Billy jumping from a roof/Billy's siblings transforming, Harley's jail fight, even Deadshot's scene shooting evil guys with different guns by himself). But JL didn't have that apart from the one second shot of him looking at Barry. But now, we have Diana beheading Steppenwolf, Barry reversing time, Cyborg discovering his powers, Clark's first flight 2.0, etc.. there are many to choose.
@@7felipe14 Second this Barry reversing time and Superman´s return to the final battle can rival Thor´s entrance to Wakanda and Portals scene in my opinion.
Eh, theatrical needed about 30-45 mins of slow mo and some unnecessary fat trimmed but tbh most of that is world building and makes for an appropriate extended cut.
Because it was four hours long and still mid. Trust me, it’s for the better that the mass-audience didn’t go to see it and instead was released specifically for the fans that asked for it.
As a person who avoided the original cut like it was coronavirus, I can confidently say I think this movie is fantastic and something really special. Loved this movie.
Ditto! I went in knowing enough about the original to have not watched it. I actually really enjoyed the extended cut of BvS and similarly never saw the theatrical release.
Oh no! Now you didn’t get to watch it immediately when it came out. I hope you make it, that sounds like quite the tragedy and hinderance on living your life😂
@Jeremy Pick No need to be polite about it, BvS is dogshite. The Snyder-cut is also painfully average at best. Snyder-bots are collectively losing their shit over this movie because it's one of the very rare Snyder movies that isn't objectively dogshite.
It's not really the Joss Whedon cut. It's a working cut put together by Whedon at the last minute a as a working director, not an artistic one. It's exactly what Warner Bros wanted.
this cut is released to let DC fans feel happy that something better finally coming out of them. Thats just a thing for comparison and Zack Snyder Justice isn't a award winning movie like avengers though.
The weird song choices were the music his daughter liked, that’s why he used them. While the songs didn’t always work, I love that he used them. After all, she’s why he made this movie, it’s dedicated to her.
I think it was respectful of him to do that and great way to contribute to his daughter. But did he really have to play it over and over every time Wonder Woman does something!?
And I loved every minute Darkseid was on screen. Even the part where he lost, people are saying it makes him look weak but to be fair it's the only time he failed and if the world of men, the old gods, the Amazons and the green lantern weren't United he probably would've won.
And he got beat mere minutes in by the guy wonder woman defeats in her movie and decides to just stare at the justice league rather than take the planter (which he forgot had the anti-life equation) foe himself. Epic.
@@samirh2758 I literally don't care about the types of gods. For me it is one of the best scenes of all times, right next to "those aren't mountains". Which is very fitting considering that the 2017 version, where Flash is pushing a truck while Superman is pushing a building, is one of the worst scenes that I've seen in any movie.
agreed, although Zack Snyder did say there would be an intermission from 2 to 10 minutes during the middle of the movie if there wasn't a pandemic, though I'm not sure how much it would help sales.
Not gonna lie,I actually loved the fact it was 4 hours. It gave enough times to develop the characters more, enough time to get us to care about them.I get to appreciate alot of things in the movie so I never mind it

same. i couldn't care less about the character in MCU because they all feel the same. sarcastic and snarky. i only enjoy Infinity War because Thanos is so damn entertaining.
Idk why but Barry hyping himself up before running back in time is elite and got me so pumped and was definitely the best scene for me. Followed closely by the superman scenes and the bit where the whole team realises what the mother box can do and cyborg projects a image of superman and his music swells.. just love those moments ngl
I don't get, why people say this movie didn't use the superman theme and the original did? Wasn't that the Superman theme during the hologram scene, during his flight scene and during his fight vs Steppenwolf? I'm really confused.
yea i am one of the people that normally don't love the Snyder movies and hated JL and figured it could not be fixed in editing.. and yet thought the Snyder Cut was well done...in the other version i had no idea Cyborg was made from the same technology ( idk if that is because the other movie didn't explain it properly or i snoozed thru a scene or just because i don't know the lore well enough) either way the movie actually made sense and the back stories really helped..

The Snyder Cut not only redeemed the whole movie and the DCEU, it also redeemed Cyborg and the Flash. For the first time ever, I'm a fan of Cyborg and Flash.
The difference is, each episode of those shows has a structure. They're all beginning, middle and end, 3 acts, or sometimes 2 episodes will blend together and the 2nd episode will be the 3rd act. This 4 hour movie has a first act that's longer than most movies, period. It's exhausting to watch because it's nonstop buildup and information you're supposed to absorb with no payoff at all until the 4 hour mark.
watching this film you can actually see and understand sneider’s vision for the whole series. from having superman to kill on the first one and putting visions of a dystopian future to make us doubt about superman. from introducing the pool that bring back to life to bvs to be used later on the jl. his vision is so well structured it is unbelievable..
Yeah he’s not some amateur brunch hating jokester that doesn’t know what he’s doing. Though I did enjoy the humour in the first movie. It was cool to see a Barry Allen who actually knows what he’s doing and doesn’t just push people and run away.
The Snyder cut put Superman's overpoweredness in a new perspective. In the original him taking on Steppenwolf himself came off as cheap. In this version we are constantly reminded of the threat of an evil Superman. Seeing Superman destroy Steppenwolf actually made me a bit terrified.
agree, and at the same time also showcases no matter how powerful superman can be, in a situation like snyder cut's ending, it shows that other member is as valuable and powerful as he is in their way. giving flash and cyborg the light they deserve
@@Ray-gg3vq Yup. Superman, powerful as he may be, was dead. Done. The Flash and Cyborg were still needed to save the day. And without Wonder Woman and Aquaman, they wouldn't have had the time or space to. And without Batman, The Flash would've died before being able to do his part. They all had a role here. It was great.
It also came off as cheap because in the Josstice League Superman was literally dead, gets revived and immediately trashes on Steppenwolf, which also undercuts the entire effort the other Superheroes did up to that point. Especially with Superman carrying a whole building at the same speed as Flash moving a single car. Superman basically ridiculed the ONLY thing Barry did in the entire final act. Yeah we know it, Superman completly OP. In the Snyder Cut we see Diana and Arthur actually holding their own against Steppenwolf and being badass while doing so. We see Superman chosing the black suit to better absorb Sun radiation and then we actually fucking see him fly into space and get a Sunbath! So here his sudden overdrive in power is explained and notice when he shows up, he doesn't undercut his whole team by doing everyones Job. Yes he still trashes Steppenwolf but Wonder Woman and Aquaman are still involved and the three actually work together. Not to mention Flash has a entirely new Objective and is the most vital Character in the Team besides Cyborg. The Characters who were basically shallow shells in Josstice League, with Barry going as far as "he was just there" (at least Cyborg still had to take care of the Motherboxes) became the total MVPs of the Snyder Cut.
@Louis Van Der Walt Well said! Exactly! It also ties in with BvS. Superman lost hope in the world. Lois was the one who gave him hope, just like his mother gave his father hope in the world. Take that away and you have a violent and cynical god
@@Beastinvader WELL SAID. Some say he was too extreme with taking off Stepphenwolf's horn, but that's just a reminder that he's not gonna be a good guy forever.
Quick tidbit about Meras hair not being noticably red. Red is the first color to disappear visibly when going down in the ocean. This isn't an excuse for how washed out the movie looks. Just a fun fact about how red disappears in the ocean (I believe around 20-30 it's completely gone)
Well, the Aquaman movie showed how Arthur and other Atlantians "See" under water. So maybe, we were "Looking through their eyes" when watching the movie. And we haven't listened to how they "hear" under water yet, which explains the "whale noices"
I never saw the original and watched this one and really enjoyed it. I think the whole story about how everything went down intrigued me enough to check it out

I'm probably a weirdo for noticing this, but in the Josstice League they had an unnecessary scene with Wonder Woman's butt full on screen but in Zack Snyder's cut they removed it.
There's still the slo-mo butt and a few shots which served really for no other reason but to show her butt. Although, there were also shots which obviously cut off the butt even by leaving it out of the frame, or cutting to another angle before it's shown. Whatever the case, Gal Gadot seems way too self-aware in all shots, it's like she's posing for a photoshoot. But since it seems her looks are what got her the role, it makes sense and it defintely turns a profit so power to her.
@@omnirhythm huh? Seriously if the shots make no difference just leave that in. The joss whedon ass shot is brand new cause you can spot the dubbing of Affleck since it was reshot. In the snyder cut you can see that affleck isn't dubbed over and he's actually speaking with his mouth meaning that shot was added in by joss just for....well you know. @@mattgee4867 I feel like she isn't quite as aggressive as WW is in the comics, but tbh she got the mannerisms and fighting VERY right. A prime example of this is when Steppenwolf reaches for his axe and Diana gives him the "Go ahead" look. It shows her love for a good battle and then she proceeds to seriously hold it down against Big Horn Badass over there. AND a nod to all of this was Steppenwolf making his minions fuck off instead of ordering them to help like in the Whedon Cut. Overall, Gal does feel pretty natural as WW. "It's a cool normal superhero movie" is the best compliment you can give to a superhero movie, we don't need a MCU rip off, we just need something enjoyable
Erm... no, basically they did more or less the right thing in the theatrical release. Because in the Snyder Cut, Victor *is* the angry dude, who basically has the story arc "oh, my father was never there for me - I'm angry at him - oh, he saved us by sacrificing him - I am not angry at him"... yeah, erm... not that great of a story-arc. And that is the story, that apparently Terrio, Snyder AND Ray Fisher came up with... Sorry - WB was right to get that out of the movie. They should've gotten him a solo-film, where they were able to explore his complete story arc, but not this thing we've seen a million times before.

It felt like a deleted scene
aquaman relating to victor losing his dad with how he lost his mom, amongst all his lone wolf qualities, really made me appreciate this more.
It’s the little moments like that that did an even better job characterizing everyone than the 2017 version did

@@dominiqueodom3099 I haven’t thought about it that way. I appreciate that scene more now.
A little disappointed that Batman didn’t confronted Victor about seeing his own parent die in front of his eyes. Batman is the only person who knows best how it feels (well yes Aquaman also can relate to them but he didn’t exactly saw his mother die in front of his eye like Batman and Cyborg)

I agree to an extent, but I didn't really like the execution, felt incredibly goofy and off putting, but I do think an element of that could've worked

Thank you for that :)
I had no idea, thanks for educating me lmao.
@@HovercraftEDM that part I understand. 😁
I absolutely think it's not for everyone.

Then the Whedon cut would be false advertisement because the final cut cut out an hour of footage from the Whedon cut.
Now I realized that it was Joss whedon that started the annoying MCU quipping.

This is the big one when it comes to Snyder. You can not like his style or his movies in general, you can even not like his vision (even though it's become apparent he did have a cohesive, long-term narrative in mind for the DC movies) but you've got to respect the grind this man goes on for his art.

@@vanity1602 Such a bold and dangerous statement to make, may your soul rest in peace when the Superman fanboys find this. (i agree with u though :p)
The complaint most people had about the length seems odd in a day and age when we binge entire seasons on Netflix in a day.
Exactly
why does this feel true
They wouldn't care about its length if it was good. It simply is not.
Warner Bros should allow Zack Snyder to create his vision for these characters. He literally saved Ezra Millers flash reputation with this version.
Also Cyborg.
the world would be an entirely different place if we got to see ALL of Zack Snyder’s intentions flushed out
watching this film you can actually see and understand sneider’s vision for the whole series.
from having superman to kill on the first one and putting visions of a dystopian future to make us doubt about superman.
from introducing the pool that bring back to life to bvs to be used later on the jl.
his vision is so well structured it is unbelievable..
@@tsoupakis Who's Sneider. Mediocre structure and pity the rest was bloated. The 4:3 aspect was pointless too.

Quick tidbit about Meras hair not being noticably red. Red is the first color to disappear visibly when going down in the ocean.
This isn't an excuse for how washed out the movie looks. Just a fun fact about how red disappears in the ocean (I believe around 20-30 it's completely gone)
Then why is it not red even when she's out of the water?
This is not a real criticism, I don't really care
Well, the Aquaman movie showed how Arthur and other Atlantians "See" under water. So maybe, we were "Looking through their eyes" when watching the movie. And we haven't listened to how they "hear" under water yet, which explains the "whale noices"
What's the last colour?

Don't watch Batman V Superman. It's a nightmare of bad editing and tonal whiplash. A lot of scenes are established by a close up on a character and the entire scene is closeups then they go to the next scene.
@@Horatio787 Don't worry, I was never planning on watching that garbagio. I remember being hyped before it was released, until I saw people calling it dookie.
Same
i recently went down the path of joker again so recently ive been exited fo dc again as well best joker is mark hamil who has voiced every animated joker till now
Kind of shocked... honestly didn't expect this film to be so good. I'd actually like more from this universe. Can't believe I ended up caring about these characters. Really feels like Ray Fisher got screwed over big time with the original version.
Yeah I was kinda sad that we don't get to see what this universe could have been. I really like Affleck as batman, Cavill is as perfect as it gets for superman and wonder woman.. well Gadot could use some acting classes but at least she's nice to look at and she finally kicked some ass in this movie.
There are a few more examples but I don't wanna ramble.
@@digitalcamaro9708 I don't remember if it was in whedon cut as well, but I really liked her in the sewer fight. Especially right after she punched Steppenwolf through the wall, she made this motion where she stowed away her lasso behind her back and immediately took her shield and got into a defensive stance. The whole motion looked smooth and really showed that she has had battle training and a fighting routine. You can see she's a trained warrior. I Really liked that. The constant amazonian chanting during her scenes was very cringe though.
@@mattgee4867 I love her theme song but the chanting was a bit much.
It’s so satisfying to see them actually talk like humans. One of my favorite scenes is weirdly the Aquaman/Flash convo.
I liked aquaman talking with everyone. He felt very human and vulnerable, not a quip machine
@@ilikerice5208 yeah I really enjoyed all of his conversations, most notably WW and Flash, you could tell they were actually acting and not reading lines Whedon gave them
@@Nate_Jensen I agree, aquaman was just a douche during the whedon film. None of the characters had any depth
Yeah. I also really love how when they’re talking about bringing back Superman, Aquaman is kind of the voice of caution instead of just standing around stealing screwdrivers.

"It's a cool normal superhero movie" is the best compliment you can give to a superhero movie, we don't need a MCU rip off, we just need something enjoyable
They did cyborg so dirty in the theatrical release. Hes probably my favorite character in the snyder cut.
Agreed
Erm... no, basically they did more or less the right thing in the theatrical release.
"i couldn't do that last night" has to be the dumbest exposition dialogue in cinematic history
@@the.abhiram.r I just got off the comments section of the “The Snyder Cut Is Worse” vid and someone had the fucking gall to say ZSJL stretched things too long and Josstice League actually respected the passage of time.
@@kp1xNah sorry but I agree. Cyborg should've had his own movie before the events of Justice League. It would've been a lot better for the character.
Batman and Joker teaming up is always so much fun.
2nd lmao
Cool
It wasnt fun in this. Letos joker/ Marilyn Mason was terrible
@Sam Thomas Good actors can still be terrible in the role no matter who is writing. Plus it was more Marilyn Manson than Joker.
Cut Joker some slack
The convo between bat and joker is really good. Bat said "When Harley Quinn was dying on my arms, her last word was to kill you very, very slowly" and Joker's expression is just... masterpiece. The trembling hand, like, damn. And Joker said "You almost got me there".
What a great scene
Zack Snyder managed to redeem Jared Leto's Joker. I despise the Suicide Squad one, but this Joker was actually really good, considering how he's on screen for only a few minutes and yet he's good.
Maybe I would've noticed it if I wasn't so busy being traumatised by the horrendous way Joker looks. He doesn't even look like Joker. He looks like some kid went crazy with a bunch of lipstick
@@vulpine3431 Joker doesn’t just have one look
@@vulpine3431 They don't have mirrors in the apocalypse
@@vulpine3431 1st its cool and diffrent and has some depth to it, its all gotham badges whoxh makes us think he killed the GPD and weara there badges as trophys and a bullet proof vest in.an apoxolypse just makes sense and 2nd. Joker has always has half-hazardly placed lipwtick.
I think Barry saving Iris scene was great...
Wait... We needed the Scandinavian scene if only to show that someone collects Aquaman's clothes when he ditches them to go swimming.
You're telling me Bruce Wayne didn't track Arthur by following trails of abandoned clothes from all the beaches he left them on?
🤣🤣😂
It was a form of worship from th people to Aquaman. He is treated as a god. The girl picking up clothes and sniffing at it, is more meaningful than the jokes people are making about it. However, not many will understand it because of cultural difference.
@@rongsenakiliolusang2902 This is the same thought i had. It was worship
