This song truly fits the bill of "majestic." The moment the opening melody begins, you are teleported to another time. If you're still young, it's a time that you're still trying to explain. If you are older, it's a time that you wish could come back. You don't just hear this song, you feel it.

Hard to describe what this song does to me. I'm 20 again, my heart is pounding as I listen to amazing 90's real Alternative. Maybe it's the Meat Puppets, maybe the Pumpkins, maybe Blossoms, doesn't matter. Time rolls backwards 25 years for me for four minutes and change. I have searched for this songs for years now. I couldn’t remember the lyrics, couldn’t remember the band name. Like magic it popped up on my recommendations. 😭 so many memories.
exact same thing for me! I could remember the guitar riff and the first line but everytime I searched "I've been waiting for this moment all my life lyrics" into Google I couldn't find it. It's such a satisfying feeling when you finally find that song youve had it your head forever but couldn't recall the name of.
As somebody in 2020 in their 50's. I discovered this song from Rock Band. That game gave me so many new types of music I could enjoy despite it not generally being made for folks my age. This song rocks.
Im also in my 50's I generally always have a look and listen to any bands I haven't heard off before when I'm on TH-cam. I've came across some cracking bands with some fantastic songs. Just like this one I suppose
16 years later, I never knew how important this song would become to me. Thanks Rockband and Silversun Pickups, for creating an everlasting memory my sister I shared, so many years ago.
It blows me away to see this song getting the love it deserves, I use to wake up as early as I could to watch MTV before school so I could listen and watch music videos and 14 years later this song still sticks in my music library.
Incredible video, direction, and song. I am a 53 year old guy and I appreciates the innocence and youth in this video. It has a 70's vibe but is yet modern in its presentation, very profound. Kids being kids. Ahhh to be young again . . . .
And they taped this at a typical dump of a venue, like the Electric Factory in Philly - a fire trap is there ever was one. Saw these guy half a dozen time, and this song was always near then end of the show - crowd ws WAY wound up by then. And yeah, all the pretty single girls had headed for the xit by the time thid=song ended.
The actress is phenomenal. The facial expressions and emotions feel so authentic. The two buds at the conclusion are cool, they see her, the guy's dream girl, and they slowly slip out to somewhere else, leaving them privacy. Isn't all this music and love so good? 😊
That's one of the first things I noticed. His friends cordially got out of the way. But that's not what happens in reality. A good looking available girl is going to be hounded by jerks even if she clearly shows only an interest in the targeted male. But American girls won't settle on one. They will play the field.
She reminds me of many girls from ‘81-‘83 in the Orange County CA alternative scene. The director captured it perfectly, and the actress makes me want to return to that time, if only for a moment. This song is timeless and so great.
This song was one that my ex-boyfriend and I used to love. It reminds me now of warmth and bed and sleep and comfort. We used to have it on repeat and fall asleep to it, then everything went to shit with us and I blocked it out of my head, until I stumbled across it today while sorting through my iTunes. Kinda strange how one song or a voice or certain lyrics can bring back so many memories of a specific time in your life, memories that haven't been unlocked for years. Just thought I would share it with you all as it's a very important song to me.
Biff Stukeley That's what good music does it brings things together, your story was sad but very heartwarming I do hope you find someone as warm and wonderful as your x, I wish you the best. Let the music take you away!!!!
I'm an unborn fetus currently in the womb and this is playing. I'm enjoying it a lot and I'll probably be able to play it note for note when I'm older.
By far! I don’t know many people who have heard this song but I remember getting ready for school during middle school and seeing it for the first time on MTV. Loved it ever since. The whole song is underrated in my opinion
I fell for a girl in my early teens, it was awkward and even though we tried we never made it but it haunted me well into my older life, I never got over her. She was that cliche 'the one' that stories are made of. 30 years later we found each other again and this time we made it right. I showed her this song and video early on, saying it reminded of me of our younger years and it instantly became our song. Once a week on her private playlist to remind her of fate. She left a year and a half ago, career came first unfortunately and I was apparently not part of it, even though I supported and cheer-leaded for her every step of the way. Watching this again tonight, I cried for the first time in many, many years. A grown man in his 40s sobbing over a love lost. The clip hurt more than the song.
You got her dude. Which is more significant than never getting her. I envy you so. I never got my “the one”. She’s still out there and I’m married now. But she will always be the one that got away. You did good man
Love the way the drummer plays the entire song like it's a drum solo
God made man
man made drums
drums made gods
Lmao I had to watch. Poor drums, dudes bangin them like they are someone's mom
what an untrue statement

It never is, i just found out about it. Great alternative song it is indeed
I know - I think I just discovered it about a year ago!
I've been waiting apparently 13 years to hear this masterpiece
I know! Everyone's commenting about the nostalgia they feel. I can't wait to feel the same, I get the feeling that this song's going to stick with me for a long time. Sometimes you wish you'd met that person earlier, sometimes they come along at just the right time, you know?
Me too. I discovered them with their most recent release 'It Doesn't Matter' - another masterpiece!
You should try listening to Kissing Families by them!
Welcome and checkout more of their discography! They jam live too if you get a chance.
Me too. I'm from Spain and I think this band had never came here.
WOW THIS GROUP IS DA BOMB,, THIS SONG!!! IS SO COOL REMINDS ME GROWING UP IN 80S GREATEST DECADE. WHAT A VIDEO I REALLY THOUGHT SHE PLAYED HIM UNREAL ENDING IS GREATEST WOW THAT BOY IS THE MAN!!
I have searched for this songs for years now.
I couldn’t remember the lyrics, couldn’t remember the band name.
Like magic it popped up on my recommendations. 😭 so many memories.
Algorithms, man. Algorithms everywhere.
Glad you found it. It's a great tune from a great band.
I always thought this was Smashing Pumpkins. I’m surprised to find out it’s wasn’t
I love when stuff like that happens! Nice.
exact same thing for me! I could remember the guitar riff and the first line but everytime I searched "I've been waiting for this moment all my life lyrics" into Google I couldn't find it. It's such a satisfying feeling when you finally find that song youve had it your head forever but couldn't recall the name of.
I could listen to this song every day of my life.
I do
Well, that decade went whistling by
It sure did
Omg yeah it did
Sad...I miss my 20's.the music..the feelings.
because there's no transitions in music since 2000...
I remember hearing this on radio after going to a local music venue and seeing some bands. It was this shit and Starlight by Muse.
Love this song, always lifts my spirits when I am feeling down.
As somebody in 2020 in their 50's. I discovered this song from Rock Band. That game gave me so many new types of music I could enjoy despite it not generally being made for folks my age. This song rocks.
Nice man. Yeah you guys had a lot more rock music. Its unfortunate that we just don’t have the number and prevalence in rock anymore.
Im also in my 50's I generally always have a look and listen to any bands I haven't heard off before when I'm on TH-cam. I've came across some cracking bands with some fantastic songs. Just like this one I suppose
i got it from guitar hero :D
this is 'secret' late-genX music
I was in my highschool senior year. It came out in 2006. Good memories. Theres rarely good music nowadays.
This is one of those rare songs that you just never get tired of. Feelings of youth, nostalgia and vulnerability all wrapped up in one. Live on.
The actress and actor perfectly convey that feeling we all had at one time or another.
16 years later, I never knew how important this song would become to me. Thanks Rockband and Silversun Pickups, for creating an everlasting memory my sister I shared, so many years ago.
story time?
one of my favorite songs of all time!
2006 was 2 minutes ago. I always loved the drummer's Battles-style crash. Reach for the apex!
Glad to see that people still coming back to listen to this classic.
I've been listening to this since 06 :( 10 years old!!
ok, so you were 10 years old in 06. lol for a second i ..well i was pretty ashamed of myself.
No, the song is 10years old, I wasnt 10 in 2006, I was 14 when that song was out.
you're so old!
If u think 23yrs old is old, then.u got problems bro
Are you offended bro? Did I touch your feelings?
me gusta mucho la música que produce esta banda ❤❤❤ Saludos desde Venezuela
It's October 2022, and this still hits the same 🔥
2:45
it does. still fun to play on acoustic too.
1st time here- catch up with you later👌
Hey dumbass, wake up. Its November now. As per TH-cam's automatic crap, I'm joking and hope people get it.
@@jasonfoster4060😂😂😂
Feb 2023 would like a word with you
February 2022 and this song is still just as amazing as when I first heard it over a decade ago.
Coolest thing about this video is the dude’s friends knew when to bail.
@Stan Dup HAHA
I was thinking that too though the song is daycent too.
Bro code.
@@johnlehane776 do you mean decent?
And that is absolutely correct!
The interlude/outro on the full track is just brilliant.
It blows me away to see this song getting the love it deserves, I use to wake up as early as I could to watch MTV before school so I could listen and watch music videos and 14 years later this song still sticks in my music library.
it is awesome that more people are finally discovering the band, and this song...they have so many good songs... 🥰
Incredible video, direction, and song. I am a 53 year old guy and I appreciates the innocence and youth in this video. It has a 70's vibe but is yet modern in its presentation, very profound. Kids being kids. Ahhh to be young again . . . .
Same age, same feeling👍
This song delivers that "I'm 20 years old and going out with friends is the only thing that matters to me" feel.
Im in that phase rn lmao
@@alexbeastav Savor it. It goes fast.
@@weldone3829 yessir I will
Yep. I have been trying to figure out how to get back there.
And they taped this at a typical dump of a venue, like the Electric Factory in Philly - a fire trap is there ever was one. Saw these guy half a dozen time, and this song was always near then end of the show - crowd ws WAY wound up by then. And yeah, all the pretty single girls had headed for the xit by the time thid=song ended.
is this the sequel to 1979 by the pumpkins
No, this is far better, and I suspect it will age better too.
I've been waiting for this moment.
PERFECT by SP is the sequel to 1979
@@LVE4GOD ah come on man. You must be born after 2000....1979 is a classic, always will be
I've never felt so understood. 1979 came out during high school for me. This song came out when I felt like I was an adult, but I really wasn't
this is the kind of nostalgia that hurts
Nostalgic for a song from the early 2000s that’s nostalgic for a time 10 years before.
The actress is phenomenal. The facial expressions and emotions feel so authentic. The two buds at the conclusion are cool, they see her, the guy's dream girl, and they slowly slip out to somewhere else, leaving them privacy. Isn't all this music and love so good? 😊
yere
Paul Dano as the bartender, LOL.
They have a pretty solid discographyu.
This song is beautiful
This song was one that my ex-boyfriend and I used to love. It reminds me now of warmth and bed and sleep and comfort. We used to have it on repeat and fall asleep to it, then everything went to shit with us and I blocked it out of my head, until I stumbled across it today while sorting through my iTunes. Kinda strange how one song or a voice or certain lyrics can bring back so many memories of a specific time in your life, memories that haven't been unlocked for years. Just thought I would share it with you all as it's a very important song to me.
:/
This song is awesome, my wife and i would jam this out on Rockband a few tears back. I loved it and memories we will share forever. !
Thanks for sharing with us!
+farm bugs happened the same with me
Biff Stukeley That's what good music does it brings things together, your story was sad but very heartwarming I do hope you find someone as warm and wonderful as your x, I wish you the best. Let the music take you away!!!!
Takes me back to my teen years, this song still gives me the chills❤️🔥
This is one of those perfect songs that never ages.
great song
This was my jam when I had a lazy eye. After getting corrective surgery, it's still my jam!
As a former lazy eye haver myself I much enjoyed your comment
Wow 17 years ago I was in love with this song and now in 2024 it has that new love effect. Much love thanks for this great song
It hurts that I'm in rural Texas. I never heard of them then, but now they're one of my favorite bands.
This hit close to home since I read it during the video buffer that comes with my rural Texas internet
This was probably not the music you were expecting from a band with "Pickups" in its name....
RIP texas
Man, welcome. This song has been one of my favorites for a very long time
This song was on guitar hero back in the xbox360 days or I'm sure I wouldn't have heard of them either in rural missouri!
She fucking rocks...hey all do .one of the best songs of my youth..remember when bands actually played shows..in shitty dives
The videos and the song encaptures a feeling that I can't explain
ItsTara 215
Word
ItsTara 215 good music tends to do that ❤️🎼
So much
This song reminds of The Smashing Pumpkins who I'm sure is one of their influences.
the video encapsulates that experience we had that one time. I know exactly what you're saying. and i appreciate you for saying it.
It's 2018 and this is still a jam. Great music stands the test of time!
That bass player is bomb bomb #wife goals
Wild berry jam
Agreed friend!
I've been binging on this track for the past month.
npc response = you aint real son. cos algorithm
Im 32 and now hearing this song for the first time. I love it!!
I’m 44 and remember the first time I heard it, it took tictok to bring me back and I was like I remember this fabulous song ❤
Oh what a great song.....!!!
Nostalgia caught me by surprise. Awsome song but it almost feels sad.
71 years old and loving the music from this band
I'm 37, music transcendence time. Im pretty sure you remember your first kiss.
Just remember, your children are making there own memories. Love your children they are YOUR future.
Fuck yea
Man
50
I'm an unborn fetus currently in the womb and this is playing. I'm enjoying it a lot and I'll probably be able to play it note for note when I'm older.
Probably one of the most underrated guitar performances.
By far! I don’t know many people who have heard this song but I remember getting ready for school during middle school and seeing it for the first time on MTV. Loved it ever since. The whole song is underrated in my opinion
copied from a song by Smashing Pumpkins - Drown
It was featured on Guitar Hero, so it's definitely recognized. I play this song in that game all the time. So hard too lol!
Agreed
45 million views...definitely not underrated by any means
Beautiful. Xx
You did good man
@@PainKiller0247 Thank you brother.
God loves you through hard times ❤
I feel you.
I lost the one also. Thought at the time she was it, but she slowly left
remember seeing this for the first time on fuse tv when they used to play only rock videos all day long...seems like yesterday :(
