Hello Mr new guy, restoring your nand is only if you brick your console. Meaning your console is no longer operatable. As an added bonus, a factory reset will not fix your issue and will not eliminate Homebrew from your system either in case you were wondering. To remove files you need to remove them manually from the SD card. It's as simple as following the guide in reverse and just deleting the files that you want to get rid of.
I appreciate the video man but I do got a question. When adding more wii games, how do I get the newly added games to show up with the other selectable games? I can still play it but I have to open it through the file Explorer. Thanks! Edit: nevermind I got it fixed. To anyone with the same issue, just reload your cache within wiiflow and your newly added game should be good!
hey just FYI, I found the select all button on GCBM for those who have a lot of games. At the top there is a button called select and it drops down the options "None" and "All".
It can, but the file locations on your SD card are going to be different and I can't speak as to downloading the wad. I heard downloading wii wads on a vwii would brick a system
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!! This tutorial and use of tools answered a LOT of questions I had from my first go at using Wiiflow! I do need to ask an opinion- on the PS1- Metal Gear Solid- 2 discs, one .bin file and one .cue file for each disc. Would you recommend using the CD tool to combine al this or separate the folders for separate discs?
For multiple discs you should separate them and they should have (disc 1) and (disc 2) in the titles. If I'm not mistaken the PS1 emulator should be able to read the discs that way
@@BelowAverageGaming my apologies- I am just going through each step because I jacked up my plugins, etc on the first go around- i was reading each txt to ensure i followed instructions and I didn't change the tab back to the correct one in the notepad tabs.
I was able to add them all without issue! In your first Wiiflow video, I took it to heart when you said all files had to remain zipped. Well, now I know why Atari 2600/5200 roms were never read!! With that said, how would I know which files are to be zipped/unzipped? I ask because I am using Fuzzy remane technique on other retro systems.
Great videos!!! I was able to get homebrew on with now problems! Thank you so much for the tutorials. It seems a lot of the files for the wiiflow tutorial are not downloading as zip files and just one file that doesn't need to be extracted. Is this because of an update?
May I ask, what would be the biggest SD card you could use? I only have a small-ish one and lookimg to upgrade to do it this way. Your work is also amazing thank you so much!! :)
@@BelowAverageGaming Brilliant thank you, also is there a way of using a USB with wiiflow? Some games can be quite large, do you reccomend any good sites to dowload them from please? :)

Hey, maybe I completely missed it in the video, but can I still use this tutorial with a hardrive or should I look back to the previous tutorial? I love the content!
If you'd like to use the hard drive, I'd recommend doing the previous video, but you can use the updated tools for renaming your retro-roms if you have any from this video
Hi, appreciate your videos. When downloading the Wiiflow plugins pack, it says that some files cannot be transferred due to it being too long or not recognised. What should be done in that case? Thanks
@@angelbabyyy3420yes it will, formatting is important but i have an amazon basics micro sd in the amazon basics sd converter thing and it’s worked well for me so far
Dear, I noticed one issue. Whenever I open WiiFlow from main Manu screen is balck and Wii remotes disconnect. When I open WiiFlow from homebrew channel it works. I reinstall WiiFlow but it did not help.
That means the wad you installed did not work. Go back into the wad manager and uninstall that wad and perhaps reinstall it. If not, install a different wad. Try blue circles instead of clouds as mentioned in the video
Great video! I'm now wanting to upgrade to an HDD for more storage, how would I go about doing that? Can I transfer everything off of the SD or is there more to it than that?
I see you had some files from a previous SD card. I'm starting totally fresh, can I still use this guide even though I'm starting with a blank SD card? You had I believe 2 folders you carried over in this guide. Thank you!
@@BelowAverageGaming after setting up, having an issue with Wiiflow. When I try to launch it, the Wii just goes off for about 15 seconds then boots back up to the menu. I noticed with a fresh start as mentioned earlier, I only have folders and not the following items on you root that you do - boot.elf, installer.log, key.bin and nand.bin. Could this be the reason for the issue? I was able to test Nintendon't which seems to work totally fine. Please note this is the first guide I've used to setup my Wii, other I had the homebrew channel already installed that is it. Thanks again for your time and assistance.
My Wii struggled with GX loader and I installed this over it and redid the ciso files and it works a million times better. Whenever I tried loading Gx loader it would crash and was extremely finicky but Wii flow hasn't crashed yet.
Hey bro, great tutorial. I’ll be sure to link both in my upcoming showcase video of my build. Got a full 512GB SD with a full 2TB HDD. Is the CDImage necessary? As WiiFlow boots the .cue file anyway, I have 800 PS1 games so it will take me a while 😅😂
I followed this to the T and when i Load up WIIFlow app I just get a black screen... can't do anything. I let it sit for awhile and nothing. How long does it take? Any idea what I could have done wrong?
I got same problem In homebrew there is something there called “Wiiflow wfl” load that and it will load your games to a similar menu. Haven’t tried continuing the tutorial but I hope this helps
Great video, thank you. I have a Wii U and wanted to know if i could use a 2 TB micro SD card for my wii and retro side and a 2 TB HDD for the Wii U games? Is this possible?
Amazing tutorial as always, thanks so much! Just one question, in my wiiflow version I'm using I don't have the Mame addon, when I go to arcade, I can see CP1, CP2, Neo Geo and Arcade. I don't know hoy to create that mame channel. Also, will mame game work in the Arcade road?
@@BelowAverageGaming thanks for the quick answer. Then, I provably did something wrong. I created a folder named "Arcade" and add all my mame games but I can't read them. I´ll try again. Is there any difference between mame2000 games and mame 2003?
@pablotaglia2066 just structure everything how the tutorial gives it to you. Mame games should go in the ROMs folder in the mame folder Meme 2000 does work, but the 2003 ROM set works better. And it's just a guessing game of finding out which games work unless you do it the way I display it here
16:16 Would love to know how to manually add cover art to this section: the apps in the Homebrew Channel. 🙂 Any videos on this topic, Below Average Gaming?
I wanted to touch on a few things. My setup is a modifiied copy of the wiiflow masterpiece edition with the danimals theme I've modified myself and I personally have not had to convert mp3 to ogg that I can recall. I see you have one spot for n64 which is nice but I'm also assuming that means you're only using one out of the two best N64 emulators for the wii(not64 and wii64). This means you're missing out on a lot of compatible games that you could be running. When I did this I had a young nephew staying here a lot of the time so I added media center stuff to my wiiflow complete with boxart. I forget which wiimc version I used but it allows me to open movies that way fairly readily.(Granted the movie quality has to be low enough to allow the wii to play it correctly) One last thing is really a question. I see you have computer based games such as c64. Are you having to use a keyboard plugged into a usb port to play those? Lastly I wanted to thank you for making this tutorial and redoing those rename tools to help so many people. I wish I had these when I did my setup rather than manually renaming the boxart on my Chromebook.
Modifying the .ogg files may be unique to this setup, so I can't really speak to that. What I can say is that it works and you can actually create a whole entire playlist with that method. I'm not sure how long ago you did this method, but there's no need for having two spots for Nintendo 64 anymore. You can select a plug-in system from the main N64 spot and allow not64 and wii64 to either run at the same time or pick and choose. You just need to select or deselect the plug-in from the menu. I had no idea about a media center! That sounds sick so if you have any info on how that was done that would be cool The c64 you can use keyboard and mouse or you can use a mix of the wiimote/GameCube controller but performance will vary with the controllers
So within the plugins folder on wiiflow you'll find a dol file called mplayerce-svn-r673.dol. i created an mplayercw.ini file and the contents are... [PLUGIN] displayname=MPlayerCE magic=4D504345 coverfolder=mplayerce dolfile=mplayerce-svn-r673.dol romdir=movies filetypes=.avi| .mp4| .mkv consolecoverid= covercolor=ffffff bannersound=THX.ogg arguments={device}:/{path}{name} I had to make a folder for boxart called mplayerce in the wiiflow boxart folder and i made a folder called movies in the root of the SD card The magic number doesn't necessarily matter but has to be unique. You'll use it in the wiiflow source menu folder and you go inside your rhapsodii shima folder. Then pick your category you want to place if in and add an entry in that ini file. Make sure to have that magic number because you'll use it when making that addition. Make coverart in both this folder and the small_covers folder for mplayerce. It sounds complicated but once you have this all set all it takes is creating coverart and adding files to the movie folder. Just remember this very important caveat. The wii is low powered so any video file should be say 360p or 480p for the best results.
@@BelowAverageGamingi forgot to tag you when I added the reply about the media center stuff. Also for some reason your Gameboy coverart renamer doesn't work for me. I had the files in the correct spots but it doesn't seem to properly recognize y or n and eventually asks why I bothered even though I hit y for everything
I’m updating from Haxchi and wiiflow was all setup and working. Now I’m on Aroma and need to update wiiflow. Do I just add the new files or I need to start all over?
I appreciate everything that you have done, your videos are so detailed and helpful. There’s one thing I can figure out, I try to go into wiiflow and the screen goes black then I go back to the home brew channel, any idea why? Any help would be awesome
@bkelsey1982 You should considering you have a forwarder that directs it to it. If you're not able to open it then that means the wad you installed is bad and you need to uninstall it through the wad manager. You can repeat the process where you installed the " clouds" wad. Try "blue circles" instead
That didn’t work but I did get a window that says blue circles has properties that can’t be copied to the new location, same with the cloud one, but I’ll go back through your video and see if I missed something
Okay so I got everything to work perfectly!! I added GC + Wii games, and they all worked-but, when I tried to add more Wii games a second time, they will not show up on wiiflow…any ideas?
@ you’re amazing‼️just like u said, worked again!! Thank you so much for all of these videos you’ve posted, and for being active in the comments!!! The last thing I’m curious about is that I cannot get the rapsody shima background to work, are there alternatives I can download?
Do I *need* a theme installed to view the retro systems?? I followed everything in the videos, and BTW, your Python scripts are GOD TIER. For the sake of minimalism, I would prefer to keep Wiiflow Lite on the default theme (the screen is less bright with the black background). Unfortunately for me, everything else is loading BESIDES my retro systems. On the PC I can see everything transferred successfully to the SD card-sadly I can only see my Wii and Gamecube stuff in Wiiflow.
Try setting everything up like you were going to have the theme. Once everything is 100% set up, you can just turn the theme off and then go from there
Hey, bit of a weird troubleshoot question if you know how, but whenever I run the Python sequence with N64 zip files in the N64 folder it’ll say “N64 games folder does not exist” and “there are no zip files in tje folder." Wondering if you had any idea what might be happening?
So I followed your previous “The ultimate guide” video to set my Wii up for using Homebrew and I’m using the same SD card. The only difference I can see from the files you copied over to your SD card in the beginning and mine is that I still have the 4 WAD files from that video. Are these good to stay or should I remove them? I apologize is this is addressed, I am following along with the video and trying to avoid any mistakes.
I’m having trouble getting wiiflow to work. Could it be my console is not properly modded? Or is it my sd card? When I try to copy some files it says “some properties cannot be copied do you wish to still copy” something along those lines. It’s in fat32 1tb sd card
Thanks for this man. Just about everything runs smoothly, thanks to this. For some reason, though, I can get my PS1 games to load but not to actually get into the game itself. I get the title screen and then when I hit play it just acts like it's loading but never actually loads. Any suggestions?
Hey I followed your homebrew video and this video and everything worked great but all of a sudden about 90% of my box art for my Wii and GameCube games disappeared and they just say no image available. They were all there and working perfectly since the start but it just randomly started doing this when I turned my Wii on today. I’ve tried refreshing the cache, resetting path manager, etc.. I’m not sure what else to try. Any suggestions? Thank you.
@@BelowAverageGaming that’s what I’m trying now. I plugged the sd card into my computer and it says those box covers in the wiiflow folder are corrupted so I’m currently transferring the good files to another storage device and I’m going to reformat the sd card in order to get rid of those corrupted files. I’ll let you know if this works.
Okay open question since I can’t find much online: every time I open a game through Wiiflow it shows me the Wiiflow loading screen before closing the WF channel and taking me back to the system menu. Any thoughts? I followed the video step by step and can’t get to the actual gameplay :(
@@BelowAverageGaming just tried to do it and as soon as i put the wads folder in my sd card to install cios and put it back to my wii, all the files on my sd card straight up got deleted.
That wouldn't be an issue with the files, sounds like your SD card is faulty. Is this a brand new card? Either way I would try a different SD card if you have one
Hey! I have no idea if you’re gonna see this but my wii is unable to connect to my internet. How do I download the game covers from the wiiflow settings if wifi isn’t an option? I tried creating a hotspot with my phone and it wouldn’t connect to that either. Besides that, everything has worked perfectly so far! Thanks ^_^
Question regarding boxarts of other languages, I've tried to patch the Mother 3 boxart into wiiflow but havent had any results. Is there anything I'm missing?
Hi, i’m having issues with solely wii games not booting up and either leading to a black screen or a frozen loading bar. I installed CIOS, and i’ve tried to change the IOS versions, disable nand emulation, and now im completely lost. Do you have any advice?
I used GCBM to add GC games to my sd. On WiiFlow i see just the games with .ciso extension but not the one with .iso. Do i need to reload something in order to see all the games on my SD? Thanks!
How do I add more games afterwards? I was able to successfully install and play the Wii and Gamecube games i had added initially, but the games i try adding to the games folder afterwards have not shown up in my WiiFlow library. Is there a different process?
Help me! You could tell me, at the beginning of your video when formatting the SD card you enter some files (app, bootmii, private, etc.) I will be Get those files and When I'm in the wiibackupmanager step when I want to pass the games they mark me error and I can no longer follow the next steps. Another question on which page do you get your video games? Why do I download them in .nkit and I can't convert them into wafs?
I am using DEM Wiiflow Tools 3.0 and I am having trouble running the PS1 script. On the page it does say it was consolidated into a single script for simplicity, but it unfortunately isn't working properly for me. The covers aren't being put in the proper folder. Any advice?
Hi great vid but i have 1 problem when i have used the python tool and selected yes on everything there are no games found in the game folder ie snes games any help would be greatly appreciated thanks
Amazing Tutorial! Thanks so much for taking the time to do this and provide resources. One question I have is regarding when I add SNES games - everything is fine in terms of boxart and playing the game but when I click on the game preview it always plays the Metroid Item Fanfare music. Has anyone gotten this and if so is this intended? Can I turn it off or change it? Thanks in advance!
It is intended by who designed it to have that sound, glad the tools worked for you! That is a good question about changing that sound effect, I might look into that now!
Hey my friend. I'm back with an answer for you. Open up your SD card and type in "SNES.ogg" Find that file and delete it and the sound will turn off. Alternatively, using the hamster tool used at the end of this video, you could make a new sound effect as long as it's converted to the OGG format and named exactly the same as the original Happy modding!

on the wii flow plugins pack, when i try and transer the three files into the root of the sd card, it says "name is too long ":(
same here i think the solution would be changing the name, but i haven’t done it yet
you can’t save files with certain characters like underscore

Great tutorial! What is the largest SD/microSD card will the Wii-U recognized?
256 GB
I appreciate the video man but I do got a question. When adding more wii games, how do I get the newly added games to show up with the other selectable games? I can still play it but I have to open it through the file Explorer. Thanks!
Edit: nevermind I got it fixed. To anyone with the same issue, just reload your cache within wiiflow and your newly added game should be good!
hey just FYI, I found the select all button on GCBM for those who have a lot of games. At the top there is a button called select and it drops down the options "None" and "All".
Thanks for the detailed video! Can you tell me if this instruction can be used for vWii WiiU?
It can, but the file locations on your SD card are going to be different and I can't speak as to downloading the wad.
I heard downloading wii wads on a vwii would brick a system
this is an awesome tool
Thank you for the video! Just wondering where do you download the games? Thanks
Outstanding thank you
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!
If I'm not mistaken the PS1 emulator should be able to read the discs that way
@@BelowAverageGaming Gotcha! I appreciate the help!!
What did you need with the N64 tool?
Im having the same issue did you get it figured out?
May I ask, what would be the biggest SD card you could use? I only have a small-ish one and lookimg to upgrade to do it this way. Your work is also amazing thank you so much!! :)
264 GB SD is the max I believe
@@BelowAverageGaming Brilliant thank you, also is there a way of using a USB with wiiflow? Some games can be quite large, do you reccomend any good sites to dowload them from please? :)

Hey, maybe I completely missed it in the video, but can I still use this tutorial with a hardrive or should I look back to the previous tutorial? I love the content!
If you'd like to use the hard drive, I'd recommend doing the previous video, but you can use the updated tools for renaming your retro-roms if you have any from this video

Where do I get the Wii and gamecube games to upload??
Hi, appreciate your videos.
When downloading the Wiiflow plugins pack, it says that some files cannot be transferred due to it being too long or not recognised. What should be done in that case?
Thanks
Make sure you're extracting your files with a zipping program.
@@BelowAverageGaming Thanks. I didn't realize that I was transferring from the zipped folder 😐.

Wait for real, is it 128GB SD card? I mean the limitation of Wii SD card GB only allow 32GB, but 128GB SD card still work on wii?

@@BelowAverageGaming Is there anyway to add Nintendo DS roms to wiiflow as well?
No because it runs on the Wii side of things which can barely handle that kind of emulation
Are the games already preloaded or you need to find your own games
I see you had some files from a previous SD card. I'm starting totally fresh, can I still use this guide even though I'm starting with a blank SD card? You had I believe 2 folders you carried over in this guide. Thank you!
Those files were just for me, so yeah you can follow along still. Assuming you have Homebrew installed already

@@BelowAverageGaming after setting up, having an issue with Wiiflow. When I try to launch it, the Wii just goes off for about 15 seconds then boots back up to the menu.
As WiiFlow boots the .cue file anyway, I have 800 PS1 games so it will take me a while 😅😂
To my knowledge, CD image is only half necessary, it depends on the plug-in that you're using. For wiisxrx though I believe it is recommended

I have a Wii U and wanted to know if i could use a 2 TB micro SD card for my wii and retro side and a 2 TB HDD for the Wii U games? Is this possible?
I believe a 256 GB is the highest you can go for an SD
You can use a 2 TB HDD if you want
Cool man!
"arcade" is the mame channel 🤙
@@BelowAverageGaming thanks for the quick answer. Then, I provably did something wrong. I created a folder named "Arcade" and add all my mame games but I can't read them. I´ll try again. Is there any difference between mame2000 games and mame 2003?
@pablotaglia2066 just structure everything how the tutorial gives it to you.
Mame games should go in the ROMs folder in the mame folder
Meme 2000 does work, but the 2003 ROM set works better. And it's just a guessing game of finding out which games work unless you do it the way I display it here
Thx for the tutorial 😊🙏 can we use it on a Wii U?

16:16 Would love to know how to manually add cover art to this section: the apps in the Homebrew Channel. 🙂 Any videos on this topic, Below Average Gaming?
Figured it out! 😮 In page 12 of WiiFlow settings, select “Homebrew settings” and change “Coverflow Smallbox” from “Off” to “On”.
I forget which wiimc version I used but it allows me to open movies that way fairly readily.(Granted the movie quality has to be low enough to allow the wii to play it correctly)
One last thing is really a question.
That sounds sick so if you have any info on how that was done that would be cool
The c64 you can use keyboard and mouse or you can use a mix of the wiimote/GameCube controller but performance will vary with the controllers
So within the plugins folder on wiiflow you'll find a dol file called mplayerce-svn-r673.dol. i created an mplayercw.ini file and the contents are...
[PLUGIN]
displayname=MPlayerCE
magic=4D504345
coverfolder=mplayerce
dolfile=mplayerce-svn-r673.dol
romdir=movies
filetypes=.avi| .mp4| .mkv
consolecoverid=
covercolor=ffffff
bannersound=THX.ogg
arguments={device}:/{path}{name}
I had to make a folder for boxart called mplayerce in the wiiflow boxart folder and i made a folder called movies in the root of the SD card
The magic number doesn't necessarily matter but has to be unique.
I appreciate everything that you have done, your videos are so detailed and helpful. There’s one thing I can figure out, I try to go into wiiflow and the screen goes black then I go back to the home brew channel, any idea why? Any help would be awesome
Is this happening when you open it through the forwarder on the wii main menu?
What happens if you open it through the Homebrew launcher?
@@BelowAverageGaming it happens from the Wii menu, I don’t have a way to load wiiflow through the homebrew channel.
@bkelsey1982 You should considering you have a forwarder that directs it to it.
If you're not able to open it then that means the wad you installed is bad and you need to uninstall it through the wad manager.
You can repeat the process where you installed the " clouds" wad. Try "blue circles" instead
@@BelowAverageGaming ok awesome I will try that, thank you very much for the help, and everything you do

@ you’re amazing‼️just like u said, worked again!! Thank you so much for all of these videos you’ve posted, and for being active in the comments!!! The last thing I’m curious about is that I cannot get the rapsody shima background to work, are there alternatives I can download?
Something must have gone corrupt along the way, I would just redownload the theme and put it in
Do I *need* a theme installed to view the retro systems?? I followed everything in the videos, and BTW, your Python scripts are GOD TIER. For the sake of minimalism, I would prefer to keep Wiiflow Lite on the default theme (the screen is less bright with the black background). Unfortunately for me, everything else is loading BESIDES my retro systems. On the PC I can see everything transferred successfully to the SD card-sadly I can only see my Wii and Gamecube stuff in Wiiflow.
Try setting everything up like you were going to have the theme. Once everything is 100% set up, you can just turn the theme off and then go from there
@BelowAverageGaming Thanks for the speedy reply and for all your help!! Will go drink a pot of coffee, cross my fingers, and install a theme...
Would this weork on the vWii on Wii U? I have just modded my Wii U and want to do something like this on the Wii side of it.
Hey, bit of a weird troubleshoot question if you know how, but whenever I run the Python sequence with N64 zip files in the N64 folder it’ll say “N64 games folder does not exist” and “there are no zip files in tje folder." Wondering if you had any idea what might be happening?
Sounds like your games aren't zipped just from what you are saying
@ For me they all say “Compressed (Zipped) folder” (Since I’m on windows). I believe that’s supposed to be .zip?
@charkusunderground9650 try watching the video that covers just the tool

Since the box art for those two systems were downloaded right from the Wi-Fi. Just re-download them from the Wi-Fi

Open up your SD card and type in "SNES.ogg"
Find that file and delete it and the sound will turn off.
Alternatively, using the hamster tool used at the end of this video, you could make a new sound effect as long as it's converted to the OGG format and named exactly the same as the original
Happy modding!
