I like the idea that King Cold would be so damn powerful if he had the chance to transform, but Trunks, being the guy who does not take second chances and not just let his enemy to powerup for 15 minutes to get a "propah scrap" like other done before and after, just murks him before he could do any of that.
Frankly it's the only thing that makes sense, because I don't think Frieza would've allowed Cold to stay alive after he took the empire over if Cold was weaker then Frieza
@@Linklex7 The class privilege might have been lost... but honestly they still could have had them be bros and the power level made Goku just dismissed by their family as not even worthy of the thrown and also would explain why Vegeta would even care about his saiyan name.
@@Alecations I don't think so, don't get me wrong I love Vegeta and they did great with him but i feel like Radditz and goku could have a interesting dynamic using the class privilege. Think about it, Radditz having self loathing about how he was born, told over and over that he would never break that barrier. Hed never be anything more than a low class warrior, then he watches as his brother just shatters that belief he held for the majority of his life. Imagine the anger and resentment that Radditz would have over that. Their fight could make a lot more sense than the vegeta vs goku fight in the buu saga (Not saying that didn't make sense but it did feel a little forced in my opinion) Radditz would have this growing resentment for goku, That resentment could be so strong that if given the chance he never had (from bababdi) To break that power barrier and finally become something more than a low class warrior. I think theres a lot of narrative potential with radditz in that regard.
I feel like Yamcha should have survived the Saibaman, but then get murked once they start fighting Nappa, Tien/Krillin/Piccolo actually hold their own until Nappa spikes Krillin and disarms Tien, Chiaotzu's self-destruct should have really hurt Nappa, and Tien's Tribeam should have apparently killed Nappa. Then, Goku arrives and starts gabbing with Vegeta, and while everyone is distracted, Nappa launches a blast at Gohan, with Piccolo sacrificing himself to save Gohan. Then, Goku beats the Hell out of Nappa and then Vegeta finishes him for ruining his wish. Same result, but much more respect to the characters.
The villains don't kill the heroes the first chance they get. Heroes have the same problem too. They just play around and let each other power up/transform
It's everything to do with Eastern martial arts storytelling. We as Westerners simply don't understand that mindset, and the whole kung fu movie craze that birthed Dragon Ball in the first place got supplanted by shōnen battle anime which kept a lot of the tropes alive in it anyway. We'd rather think in terms of pure practicality, just "fight to kill, save the day" and whatnot (DBZ even outright showed this off in action via Trunks, who has that modern sensibility of fighting to accomplish a concrete goal, which means fighting to win as quickly as possible). That old-school Warrior/martial artist mentality where fighting is more about proving yourself to yourself and whatnot, that just comes off as so alien to us that we wound up prescribing it to actual aliens to explain why they do what they do, even though the humans of OG DB acted the same way.
I think you were really onto something here!!! Having Raditz instead, barely surviving and turning over a new leaf and instead dying in the battle versus Vegeta instead would feel a bit more poignant, I think! But hindsight is 20/20 and of course I don’t think they expected Vegeta and Goku to carry on such an eternal rivalry at this stage of the story!
Kid Buu, Demon King Piccolo and the Future Androids are the most evil villains in canon DB, at least with Frieza there is a chance he doesn't kill you if you do what he wants, like the time he offered Goku to join his army. The others are guaranteed death, King Piccolo not only was gonna kill everyone, but he wanted them to suffer until their death by promoting all evil acts in the world.
@IWENTTOCOLLEGE True, I didn't take into account the movies, only DB and DBZ, but yeah he is on par with Kid Buu. And if we are including DBS, Moro is up there as well. And I forgot the Androids from Trunks' timeline.
A running theory could be that King Cold was operating behind the scenes and using Frieza to gauge potentially stronger characters/beings. He may have already been familiar with the Super Saiyan legend, existence of Buu and Beerus (if we permit this retcon) and knew of his son's own overconfidence to potentially challenge them despite his initial warnings never to oppose them. As Frieza states that his father was "bloated with self importance", it seems likely that he was preserving his image and originally "retired" on the basis of gauging power levels via his son. Just like the elite, they put puppet governments in power just to gauge the sustainability of their system. King Cold, being highly intelligent and pragmatic, could very much have done the same in order to retain his power over the cosmos.
King Cold using Frieza to scout stronger opponents and expand would also help in bringing in Cooler. Cooler could've been the son used to scout for various techniques in their empire while also training elite squads. Frieza to expand, Cooler to maintain, and both would kill each other before taking up against Cold. Cooler also should've been the one to bring Frieza back, knowing that Cold would've tried to bring Frieza and for Cold to regain control. Would've also kept the DBS Broly joke running that Cold is in his 2nd form to start take than everyone and Colds final form is actually shorter than Cooler. Should've also kept Frieza turning God Gold which is stronger in energy and let Cooler keep his 'Primal' form that is superior in combat.
What bothers me about the Great Ape is that we don't see it again after the Saiyan Saga. It's like Toriama forgot the Saiyans had it. It comes off as the full potential Saiyans have. Heck, we don't even see or hear what happened to Trunks' and Goten's tails!
Also, I feel Goku's final arc should be him overcoming his fear of becoming Great Ape and growing his tail back and asking Vegeta to help teach him how to control it because the newest threat is so bad that no level of Super Saiyan will top the Great Ape.
@@MegaJetty1the problem is that. Toriyama hated drawing the tails. For a guy that would have 30 min of sleep over 2 weeks stressing out about how to draw tails? I think it’s fine to give him a break 😅
Appule is my favourite DBZ character a fucking role model a fucking strong fighter a fucking underrated character a fucking inspiring personality a fucking good design a fucking sigma and alpha male A. FUCKING. LEGEND.
Goku and Piccolo vs Raditz is more interesting than almost any fight in Super. Raditz is also the perfect example of an actual saiyan, before this "honor" nonsense Vegeta suddenly developed after Namek. They were brutes. Murderers. They didn't fight hard battles, on the contrary, they sent their *babies* to cleanse planets full of insects. They would intentionally time their attacks on stronger planets with the full moon so they could use their trump card. Even on Namek, Vegeta didn't care about beating Goku 1v1 in an honorable rematch - he was a sneaky, clever, pragmatic fighter. The saiyans were never honorable warriors, and they were universally assholes. Goku only became a good person due to amnesia and we all know how much development Vegeta needed before becoming even somewhat a decent a person.
We need raditz back. He kicked off DBZ in a really badass way. He set the bar and I feel like he should have been back after vegeta started showing signs that he was changing, letting Goku realize that og saiyans CAN change and let’s be real….its his brother!😂
@@1st_treekuworshipperThat’s the biggest crime to me. How do you let a guy with hair like that die after just 5 episodes and never even have a hint of returning?
Before the broly movie, I was hoping they'd do, like, DBS: Raditz Like this whole time, he's been chained up in hell- and it turned out, _he_ was the legendary super saiyan! Like, imagine that title screen, with him just seething "kakarot..", until we see glimpses of that familiar green glow. Like, buu yelled his way out of a pocket dimension. Imagine a movie where the goddamn legendary super saiyan awakens his power for the first time, _and uses it to escape hell and get his revenge._ It could be SO good.
Thank you for including footage from the original DBZ Budokai! Definitely the most nostalgic fighting game for me, and every time I see those graphics I can't help but comment on how great they've aged.
I always wondered why Dabura's dog walking by Buu made me so sad, but I think this video helped me understand. He was just so cool and had a badass backstory and creative moveset and they just... do him so dirty. I'm glad he gets an extra moment to shine in the games.
So, a point in favor to Goku that the Spirit Bomb may have worked if Vegeta didn't go Ozaru, the spirit bomb Goku gave Krillin in the actual timeline was weakened since Goku lost some of the energy he gathered when Ozaru Vegeta blasted him. We don't know how much energy was lost there, but it definitely would have done more serious damage in the what-if if it hit, the problem there, is if Vegeta had enough energy after to make an artificial moon or not, cause then there would be a new, more serious problem possibly.
Turles was my favorite saiyan should’ve been canon & the 2 saiyans from the pendulum room filler episode were cool too. Their geometrical ki techniques were trippy . Turles had the donut shaped ki attack the other 2 saiyans had square and triangles shaped ki attacks . Interesting how every saiyan has a unique ki attack exclusive to them.
Hell yea turles is my second favorite villain after super 13. There is so much lore for the saiyans and other races before frieza destroyed it that they can do but choose to ignore. I hate how they change the stype of the armor. The original looks badass and better imo
The Genkidama lost about half it’s power if Vegeta was hit with it full power he was done. But yeah I’m of the mind Vegeta lost that battle because of his inability to sense energy. That is why I think he learned that specifically in the next arc.
I was going to say the exact same thing, the spirit bomb was only about 25% power when vegeta got hit with it, if it was full power Goku would have won with it
@@arrownoir Cell is objectively and obviously stronger based on how they needed to power up in training again to have a chance. Just like of course Buu is stronger than Cell. It’s how the show works or did you not even watch the anime?
Honestly I love the thought that kid Buu was the og god of destruction gone violently insane and that maybe there's a version of kid Buu that would stomp Beerus and pose such a threat that it would demand that everyone including Beerus get involved and take things seriously and not just in a "My numbers are bigger than yours" kind of way! Buu to me isn't just cool because he's stronger than everyone around him, it's because hes so unorthodox and genuinely terrifying that it'd realistically be pretty hard to figure out what insane body horror thing he's going to do next!
Speaking of King Cold, how have we never once been shown Future Goku killing them in the original timeline? That could've been Goku's most badass moment EVER, and it's all offscreen.
The fact that Vegeta didn't beat the Earthlings on his first arrival never made sense to me. I mean it does, because you know, plot. But I couldn't wrap my mind about it when I was a young little power level nerd back then, especially knowing Kaio-Ken wasn't some cost-free power boost that lasts forever. People nowadays don't even realize that.
King Cold was in his final form. Frieza was always saying that he was the most powerful in the universe, if his father was even stronger he would've mentioned that. Also in that text it says that he *looks like* 2nd form Frieza, it doesn't say he's at his second transformation. It also says that he can transform to increase his power, but it can be true if we consider him to be in his last transformation. Another point is that future Goku defeated him, and we know how Goku is, he would've asked him to transform because he might've found him too weak to be a challenge
Maybe Goku didn't wanna take the chance, after all, the only reason he did what he did with Frieza was because he wanted o humiliate him. Also, it wouldn't make sense for that to be King Gold's Final Form, we've literally seen the true forms of multiple characters (Frieza, Frost, Cooler, etc.) They are lizard-like, so King Cold of all people being like that is just inconsistent.
@@niggardosenpai Goku didn't have a reason to fight seriously at 100% against King Cold we also know how Goku loves to fight villains at their full power, the only time Goku fought at 100% from the start was against the androids and that was only because he knew he had the heart disease and had to quickly finish the battle. As for the second point, Cooler isn't canon and Frost is Frieza from a mirror universe, so it makes sense he has his same forms. And I repeat again, if you listen to what Cold and Frieza say, it's clearly shown that Frieza became emperor because he's stronger than his father, everybody agreed that he was the strongest in the universe. Another point: when Cold was bargaining for his life, he didn't even try to transform. 2nd form Cell bargained with Vegeta offering him a better fight if he let him achieve his perfect form, Super Buu tricked Gohan and the others so he could absorb Gotenks and transform. It makes no sense for Cold to not even attempt or say anything about transforming. Last point, the transformation thing is something Frieza invented, I assume it's because evolution he became stronger than his father. In his fight in Namek, he said that his power is so big he had to make multiple transformations to control it
I mean that’s literally every villain though? Even Vegeta claims it despite clearly being under the rule of Frieza. Not to mention if you bring Super into it then Frieza was aware of the likes of Buu and Beerus yet still throned himself as strongest in the universe. So you can’t really make a gauge on Cold’s power with that.
I never saw Raditz as evil…he was basically doing his job and trying to convince Goku who he was….it’s hard to be morally sound when you have no choice but to be ruthless
The guy demanded that Goku slaughter the people of the planet to join him then lowered the number to 100. He really should have realized that Goku would have difficulty massacring the people of a planet he spent his whole life on on the word of a random stranger. Challenging Goku to a fight and having him agree join him, Nappa and Vegeta should he lose to "get stronger" would have came across way better.
I know a lot of people’s favorite villain is cell, but man I just don’t see it, he is soooo shallow, bro has no motivation what do ever and has no real motive to be evil, he just wants to be the strongest in the universe…. Why? For? Because? Does he want to avenge someone? Is there a deep backstory for him to be the android he is? Does he think Dr Gero needed vengeance because of the red ribbon army? Long answer: No
I think it's because he has a lot of different saiyan dna in him, most of his dna make up is of Saiyan blood, Vegeta, Goku, Nappa, Raditz, Gohan. And people with Saiyan blood, except half breeds like gohan, have a strong urge to get strong and punch stuff just cause. Let's not forget he has a lot of Frieza in there too, which may be playing a factor.
@@ZAZA_822Saiyan Cells. That's literally the only explanation for him wanting to fight and grow stronger, just look at Goku. Also, what motives did Frieza and Buu have for being evil?
His motivations were a mix of multiple different people lol. The very reason he wanted to fight the earth fighters was due to a bit of vegeta’s Saiyan pride and gokus love for fighting strong opponents mixing together due to him having both of their cells in his body
@@jasonblack2477 ngl he was wasted potential, goku black was good at first, then they made him not be goku, then… It was weird but yeah it had great potential
Stating Kid Buu is the strongest Buu in the anime still means nothing even within the anime, since the anime constantly contradicts itself, including its own filler. According to its filler, as soon as Goku died he was way stronger than Perfect Cell in base form. Later in the Buu saga, it implies Yamcha is way stronger than Perfect Cell and probably one of the strongest Z Fighters barring someone like Goku and Vegeta. Filler had King Vegeta destroy a whole planetary system with 0% of his power by just flicking his wrist and sustained no damage, while Frieza who was way stronger than him used his strongest attack just to destroy one planet and even that took time. Official Toei books say that several of the early movie Villains had "infinite power" and some of the said that they were defeated by "Goku's bottomless power", so basically they said Goku was more infinite than infinity. The writers at Toei don't know what they're talking about.

In fairness to Goku with the spirit bomb. He implies he lost at least 50% of the energy when Vegeta blasted him as he comments to Krillin that he is giving him what he could spare.
The only thing with the spirit bomb part of the discussion I didn’t get hear mentioned was that it was a tiny portion of the energy he had collected that didn’t escape…. Which is why vegeta survived at all at that point. So full power spirit bomb might have lethally wounded the great ape…. But I feel it would have been written for the same outcome as the current story, just with less steps lol
still cant belive we never got a raditz movie seeing as how there are so many. At the very least he couldve been a big part of heroes but even they said nah
I’d like a return of Raditz, but where he’s peaceful and passive. Vegeta spent his time under the thumb of Frieza despite being a prince of a whole race, so his arc makes sense as is. But it would be cool to see Raditz react in a completely different way, and to start enjoying his freedom no longer under the rule of Frieza OR Vegeta. He’d make a great companion for Launch, too. His Saiyan past would make him relate to Blonde launch while his desire to enjoy peace and relaxation would make him get on with blue Launch.
If Raditz met Launch he'd assume she's some bipolar Saiyan that may have hit her head when she was young after seeing her sneeze. That would be hilarious.
Bro you are like a dragonball scientist.. And nothing like the other DB youtubers who skim through the details and are hella bias between so many characters.. I subscribed instantly. Everything youve said resonated with me and you even made me think about things ive never thought of when it comes to the show ive been watching since i was a small child. Thank you! 💙
For the Goku vs. Vegeta argument, Vegeta would have won the battle, yet lost the war. I have only 1 argument that is worth a mic drop: even IF Vegeta would have nevered powered up against Goku's 4x Kaioken, Vegeta and Nappa had already killed Piccolo. They lost the war even before it started the moment they killed Piccolo.
You forgot that Goku's Genki Dama was a fraction of what he really collected because Vegeta blast disrupted the concentration. There's a chance that completed Genki Dama would at least seriously harm Vegeta.
Cell is a dark reflection of Gohan. Both are "made" of Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, and Frieza (and Cell technically has Cold's DNA). While Cell is literally made from their DNA, Gohan was molded by them (and Goku's DNA), either by parentage, training, or fighting against them forming the most impactful moments of his life. But the thing Cell lacks that Gohan has is his humanity. Cell doesn't have any human DNA. In the end, it was Gohan's humanity and compassion that set him over the edge to SSJ2.
Kid buu was never considered the strongest in the anime kid buu's strongest form was when he absorbed south supreme Kai. When buu absorbed grand supreme he became weaker, which is fat buu, simply because he had a kinder less violent nature this was stated in the anime. Also one can argue this is where buu became sentient. Evil buu and Majin buu are the same but evil buu wins because he wants to fight where fat buu does not care to. Super buu is stronger than fat buu and kid buu because it is the focused energy of the Supreme Kai's that were absorbed into a tactical fighting machine. This is further proven when goku admits he CANNOT fight buuhan without potara with vegeta, whereas goku felt he could beat kid buu with ssj3 just like he could beat fat buu with ssj3. The reason supreme Kai is so scared of kid buu is only because kid buu does not think or have remorse. He simply destroys things for the sake of destruction.
The movie/Gt timeline should have done more with the "ressurected" villians, At least cutscenes of 1) ssj1 Nappa and Raditz giving the weaker Z Fighters trouble and/or 2) Bardock and his crew helping out the weakest z fighters, against Team Bojack.
Radditz was a good opportunity to have him in the story long term. Good guy good bad kind of thing. Maybe he could’ve become a hermit in a galaxy far away after feeling ashamed by the defeat. Then later on they call on his help, and then eventually he gets killed by Cell or the Androids.
This title exactly how you bait dragon ball views. DB fans are stupid overly opinionated at times lol. i love the playful vibe this title adds to a pretty solid vid❤
Raditz really would least likely to be revived but I want it. Would be pretty cool he wouldn't be too OP and not join the Z fighters. He'd just be a space cop like Jacko and his arc would be to control his ruthlessness. His gimmick is he's the only saiyan left that can turn into Great Ape
I stopped watching dragon ball z during the cell saga during its original american airing. I think I was 10 or 11. Freiza in his weakest form blows up an entire planet with 1 finger. Goku when he reaches super sayian 1 is probably twice as strong as freiza in his strongest form. Trunks shows up and mops up robo freiza and king cold like nothing but somehow a couple of robots that a human built are stronger than all of them? There's like 40 more villains after that. Screw that
One thing I'd like to point out is that I don't think the Saiyajins would as strong as they were during the Bardock Special when Freeza first arrived on Planet Vegeta. They wouldn't have been roaming the galaxy fighting all sorts of aliens, getting stronger, and learning techniques. They'd be bare minimum. So I think the whole Planet would have been even weaker than our Scholar here speculated during the Freeza vs Saiyajin race battle (had he decided to kill them right away on discovery). Freeza created his own problem by allowing them to battle off planet to get stronger, but really even then it wasn't an issue for him. A pointless point, I know, but I thought I'd share it anyway.
There’s no situation where Frieza loses to a Saiyan uprising. He’s paranoid enough that he killed them all before any of them was even close to going Super Saiyan. As soon as a saiyan reaches a level of power to rival half his first form, planet Vegeta would be exploded. If your analysis is correct, King Cold could have taken the place of Cell as the arc villain. The hard part would be writing compelling reasons for him to not just kill everyone while they train up to defeat him. It would probably just turn into a story where Cold tries to turn everyone to his side, which has a high potential for boredom and silliness.
19:00, I mostly agree here, but goku was making a Spirit Bomb for Great Ape Vegeta, so in a situation where he was making one for post Kamehameha Vegeta, he'd likely only need 3 seconds to form a bomb powerful enough to beat Vegeta, as he needed 10 seconds for the one to beat Great Ape Vegeta. So in this situation, Goku could likely Solar Flare Vegeta, make the bomb and throw it before Vegeta recovered, because he is still that much weaker than Great Ape Vegeta.
King cold only reached the 2nd. Their race would stay in the highest level form. Frieza was the exception because he stayed in his 1st form to suppress power.
We need to discuss the ramifications of Dr Gero's inventions. They go WAY beyond simply making technology stronger than Frieza. Not only is he a brilliant engineer and doctor of robotics far ahead of Eggman, but he also seems to be a biochemist. He builds Cell from nothing with no basis besides saiyan DNA, so he must have synthesized everything else (brain matter, tendons, muscle tissue, etc) himself. Not to mention modifying 17 and 18 at the cellular level. Also assuming Android 16 is using advanced artificial intelligence capable of learning and developing empathy, he's also a genius in the field of computer science and AI specifically. ALSO also, his development of 17 and 18's infinite energy generators means he's solved the mystery of the perpetual motion machine, so he's a physicist as well. ALSO ALSO also, he's a surgeon. He arranges for a computer he programmed himself to perform his own brain transplant into a mechanical body. How many disciplines has this guy mastered? Toriyama never put much thought into anything he wrote in DB, but I wonder if he realizes that Dr Gero is possibly the biggest monster he ever created.
Honestly I see why raditz never came back, think abt it from gokus perspective this guy you’ve never met in your life comes to your planet and says he’s ur brother which is true however he’s evil and he kidnaps your son and wants you to kill like a hundred ppl you don’t know that guy and he’s evil who cares if he’s ur brother
One thing that always upset me is Goku said fuck off to his brother and gave vegita a second chance. The fuck. And i don't care how strong you are that's his brother fam. Vegita got a pass because he was strong but poor raditzs was actual family and wasn't given a chance for redemption.
I disagree with your post about Raditz so I just wanna outline my perspective. 1. A Raditz redemption arc would have taken away character bonding between Piccolo and Gohan. 2. Raditz redemption would be pretty much be a copy of Vegetas redemption arc but much shorter, Vegeta took nearly a decade (up until Buu arc) to redeem himself, and if Raditz took one year, then Vegeta had no excuse acting so cruel in the cell and start of the Buu saga. 3. Raditz redemption would undermine the fact that Saiyans are an inherently evil race. This is required for the nature vs nurture dichotomy between Goku and vegeta. One of the worst changes in DBS is the retcon that all the Saiyans were good guys and Frieza forced them to be evil. The only reason that more people want Raditz to have had a more complete arc is the meta reason that since he’s the brother of the main protagonist, he should be more important, and not an in universe reason. PS: frieza being brought back and getting a “redemption” in the TOP is a horrible move and spits in the face of the entire Frieza arc. If we were all being honest, Frieza being brought back was because Super doesn’t know how to write good villains so recycling the series’s most Iconic villain was the best they could do. We shouldn’t use Supers horrible writing to justify Raditz coming back. I hate it with frieza and would hate it with Raditz.
Dragonball would be so much more interesting if somebody we know as a trusted friend to goku ended up turning into a villain. Instead of Granola, Yamcha could've held resentment for not being chosen to be in TOP. He finds the dragon balls and makes a wish to be the strongest....etc.
While Kid Buu is my favorite version, like with many manga with their anime, if it didn't happen in the manga then it's not canon since it's the source material unless the mangaka says so. Dragon Ball Super is a special case.
Yeah... Goku would 100% let King Cold go full power, no questions asked. Since he won against Mecha Freeza + King Cold, most likely alone, in future TimeLine, he having 6Billion+ is unreal.
Hello. I'd like to make a slight, but important, correction. As someone who speaks Japanese, I can tell you that the word "genki" (元気) does NOT mean spirit/life energy. 元気 is a concept referring one's primary state of health or mood, and it gets used more as adjective rather than a noun. "Ki" (気) is life energy, and it's the thing that makes us 元気. Goku's "元気玉" (genki dama/Spirit Bomb) literally means "healthy/lively ball", and it gets this name by gathering 気 from healthy, living beings. So basically, your explanation that the Spirit Bomb gathers "元気" and not "気" makes no sense, as 元気 is just a description, not a physical thing. 気 is what the Spirit Bomb actually gathers.
@@SaiyanScholar Honestly, I too always found it kinda weird that it's called the 元気玉 (genki dama) in Japanese, since the idea of it is to borrow energy from other living beings. My guess is that it gets called that because, when we say in Japanese that one is "元気", it means the person either feels very lively/energetic, or they're in a really good mood, so they have extra "energy" to spare in a way. I haven't read the manga, but in the anime at least, I think it's fairly clear to any Japanese viewer that 気 is what fuels the Spirit Bomb, but I also think you were right about the androids not having any 気 since their energy comes from an artificial source, so the fact that the androids can give energy to the Spirit Bomb at all is a plothole in my opinion.
@@Trey5S5S I think it was named that way as a joke in reference to a rice cooker. I could be wrong about the later, but it was definitely along those lines.
@@Trey5S5S I think it was called Denki Gama. Toriyama has a naming scheme to everything in Dragonball. Mostly food related items. Thats why Genki Dama doesn't necessarily make a whole lot of sense when taken literally.
The problem I've always had with King Cold transforming is just that there's no indication he can do it. No hints in any source, anywhere, whatsoever. Certainly not by himself against Trunks, which you'd think he would have at least considered it when Freeza got vaporized in a few seconds. It's also convenient that when people do assume he can transform more, it is going towards something like Freeza's 4th form. Not a 5th form like Cooler, or not Golden Freeza, or Freeza black. People just assume that because it looks like Freeza's 2nd form, he should be able to transform twice more as well. But again, no evidence of this, not even an implication. I think the most obvious conclusion is that 2nd form is as far as he got. Just like 4th form was as far as Freeza could go before he deliberately tried to surpass his limits, maybe Cold just never developed beyond that. In fact, I think it makes sense that Freeza ultimately had some sort of advantage over him, otherwise why would Cold abdicate the throne when he otherwise seems to still be completely healthy and competent?
The weird thing though, is that Freiza's transformations are steps to his base. Each form freiza had was a limiter on his power, and his fourth form is what he normally looks like. So using that knowledge, why would Cold look more similar to a form made to limit his race's potential, than more similar to the true form of his direct kin? But then of course Frost turns that on it's head, and the non-canon cooler and chilled also go against that. So who really knows.
We just don't know enough about Freeza's early life, or his species. Maybe he is a genuine freak accident and came out a hornless albino runt when everyone else looks like Cold or Ginyu. Or maybe he's like a Pokemon and grew into more advanced forms as he aged, but figured out how to revert back at will if he needs to (Cell actually pulls this trick, if you think about it). There's just too many gaps to draw any real conclusions. I will maintain though, it makes zero sense for Cold to watch Freeza get smoked as badly as he did, and then make no attempt whatsoever to power up if he actually had more to give.@@Rose_and_Thorne
Frieza, Cell and King Vegeta have to be the biggest butt hurt people ever in the series. Frieza and Cell: my ego was hurt because you're stronger than me so I'm blowing up the planet just to off you! King Vegeta: you're too strong so you have to die! I find it amusing that none of the sayajin have ever tried training to get stronger.
Never understood when they got dragon balls. Goku or vegeta never thought to bring their parents back. It’s not impossible. It’s not like if they where a threat they would even be able to touch their base forms. Basically Goku and vegeta say F there parents tbh
Radditz the biggest missed opp in all of Shonen anime. Literally Goku's brother. Couldve been a LONG TERM foil. All he had to do was be allowed to survive in some way. Maybe even escape to return in the Freiza saga. Just a complete waste.
I was just thinking that like a story where Raditz just take vegeta spot Vegeta dies etc then Raditz marry bulma and trunks would be his son the story would be deeper if it was Goku and Raditz beating Villains and raditz being the one telling Goku about the sayians and etc
I know I've said this in past comments, but the idea of Raditz being a mid-tier saiyan makes it clear the saiyans, frankly, SUCKED. Most of them were inferior to the average Frieza soldier. Oozaru was the only thing they had going for them, and unless one managed to live long enough to accumulate many saiyan power boosts (not zenkai - that term is a misconception). But then they ran the risk of King Vegeta having them executed. The levels of power Goku and Vegeta reached on Namek would have been considered godlike by saiyan standards, and is the only reason SSJ was able to defeat Frieza at all. SSJ on top of an unprecedented 3 million is massive compared to, say, if Vegeta had unlocked it on Earth. A power of 900,000 would impress Frieza for a moment, then he'd go second form and match it. Third form and it's over. The saiyans were crap until the retcons. Prior to that Frieza had good reason to view them with contempt.
Imagine if he did transform then we’d have 2 Frieza’s
Future trunk had that "thrill of the fight" beaten out of him by the androids, he had no intention of messing around
Radditz is such a missed opportunity. As a kid, seeing him for the first time, I expected him to be very important from now on
Radditz should’ve had Vegeta’s arc. The actual brother of Goku the dynamite would’ve felt better.
I think theres a lot of narrative potential with radditz in that regard.
no he wasn’t. he did what he had to do and dipped.
He did what he was supposed to?
The Saiyan saga was the best. You could feel the desperation and a lot of minor characters had parts to play.
I love how this isn’t even clickbait because they are indeed bad but some people might think he’s saying their not good villains😂😂
More like a bait and switch using wordplay😂
@@mailowmailow5207yeah most are pretty boring

@@mailowmailow5207 You are saying that in hindsight. That is kind of like saying The Lord of the Rings is generic.
Well they're not good villains, otherwise they wouldn't be villains, right? 😜
An honorable mention for most evil villain would be Janemba, Ik he isn't cannon but the man was literally hundreds of evil souls condensed into one
@IWENTTOCOLLEGE True, I didn't take into account the movies, only DB and DBZ, but yeah he is on par with Kid Buu. And if we are including DBS, Moro is up there as well. And I forgot the Androids from Trunks' timeline.
@@dimitri4888 and dont forget about Omega Shenron from GT as well, who was literally made of negative energy
Moro is NOT canon 🧝♂️
Moro doesn't even deserve to be on the list.

A. FUCKING.

Before the broly movie, I was hoping they'd do, like, DBS: Raditz
Like this whole time, he's been chained up in hell- and it turned out, _he_ was the legendary super saiyan!
Idgaf about raditz
Thank you for including footage from the original DBZ Budokai! Definitely the most nostalgic fighting game for me, and every time I see those graphics I can't help but comment on how great they've aged.
If anyone wants to see a good story for Raditz,"What if Raditz turned good?" from Masako X is a quite good one.
Callmearj is pretty nice with his fan mangas
wait hold up...
Yeah, that one is great. I'm not even a fan of that stuff generally, but i'd recommend that one.
You made a really good case for Raditz.
Salad Saiyan made like a 3 hour long video on it
Turles was my favorite saiyan should’ve been canon & the 2 saiyans from the pendulum room filler episode were cool too. Their geometrical ki techniques were trippy . Turles had the donut shaped ki attack the other 2 saiyans had square and triangles shaped ki attacks . Interesting how every saiyan has a unique ki attack exclusive to them.
The pendulum room Saiyans were cool. And I loved their dialog in Abridged lol
Nice comment but they are not canon 💣
Hell yea turles is my second favorite villain after super 13. There is so much lore for the saiyans and other races before frieza destroyed it that they can do but choose to ignore. I hate how they change the stype of the armor. The original looks badass and better imo
The Genkidama lost about half it’s power if Vegeta was hit with it full power he was done. But yeah I’m of the mind Vegeta lost that battle because of his inability to sense energy. That is why I think he learned that specifically in the next arc.
I was going to say the exact same thing, the spirit bomb was only about 25% power when vegeta got hit with it, if it was full power Goku would have won with it
Yeh he wouldve ended like turles
They don't sense energy, the correct terminology is sensing "ki"
Even though he’s overused, Frieza leaves every other DB villain in the dust.
Cell was far better, flexed more & was overall a complete villain, freiza was impactful but now where near cells level
@@joeybanks18 Cell is nowhere near as good as Frieza.
@@arrownoir that’s crazy you’ve just said frieza leaves them in dust when cell literally exists

To be fair for the most part the hero/shonen story is often overcoming the odds and Dragonball certainly counts under this mold
Bro trolled us with the Appule story 😂

Vegeta is my favorite hero
Vegeta is more Anti-villain
Vegeta is my favorite anti hero

Raditz was the shit. Also you advocating for piccolo and goku team up, clearly you are a man of great taste and intelligence.
@@MHinds15 Ok, I'll scrap that point I made. However, my other points still stand
Kid Buu is one of the worst, if not the worst. Homie pulled up to the after life for more smoke. He is HIM
I feel like it's raditz hair that cemented his demise. Toriyama and no one else wants to draw it. Same reason ssj3 died

I never saw Raditz as evil…he was basically doing his job and trying to convince Goku who he was….it’s hard to be morally sound when you have no choice but to be ruthless
Bro what? That's like saying criminals aren't evil because they are "doing their job" trash logic son
Raditz had more impact than Super Saiyan Blue.
Long answer:
No
I think it's because he has a lot of different saiyan dna in him, most of his dna make up is of Saiyan blood, Vegeta, Goku, Nappa, Raditz, Gohan. And people with Saiyan blood, except half breeds like gohan, have a strong urge to get strong and punch stuff just cause. Let's not forget he has a lot of Frieza in there too, which may be playing a factor.

How is Raditz Goku's brother when he look more like Vegeta? 🤣
That yamcha part is awesome tho and why i love filler
Multiple infinites with some being more infinite then others is a legitimate thing..

In fairness to Goku with the spirit bomb. He implies he lost at least 50% of the energy when Vegeta blasted him as he comments to Krillin that he is giving him what he could spare.
I wonder if Toriyama ever watched Ghostbusters because the main villain appeared as a huge, fat candy man.

Everything youve said resonated with me and you even made me think about things ive never thought of when it comes to the show ive been watching since i was a small child. Thank you! 💙
Can’t see Vegeta torturing those under his authority but I could see him not caring if they didn’t make it
For the Goku vs.
I use Appule in Dbz Tb 3! Besides Prince Vegeta, he’s the true strongest! 😂
Appule literally can solo the entirety of anime if he wanted to he just chooses not to and to stay in hell
The movie/Gt timeline should have done more with the "ressurected" villians,
At least cutscenes of

Radditz was a good opportunity to have him in the story long term.
Good guy good bad kind of thing.
Maybe he could’ve become a hermit in a galaxy far away after feeling ashamed by the defeat.
Then later on they call on his help, and then eventually he gets killed by Cell or the Androids.
Shame we didn't get more info on King Cold. His sole purpose in the original manga was so Trunks could show off by killing "two Friezas."
Kid Buu take at the end is crazy
This title exactly how you bait dragon ball views. DB fans are stupid overly opinionated at times lol. i love the playful vibe this title adds to a pretty solid vid❤
My favorite parts of these videos are the #JusticeForApulle -like segments😂
the true villains are the Friends we Made along the way
Raditz really would least likely to be revived but I want it.
Radits with demon ki. Transformations showing more of a demon form like Goku with his halo in angel form. Lol just a thought.
If raditz came back into super to be somewhat relevant, I would like him to be the person to discover super saiyan 4 in canon
I would like to believe that King Cold was in his final form, because said Frieza was some kind of mutant of his race
Bro you have the same accent as a saiyan 😹🔥it's fuggin awesome!!!
I would’ve loved to see Radits be part of the story like it would’ve been so cool to see him grow with goku and everyone
Radditz had incredible potential only to be wasted right off the bat. Toriyama probably offed him because he got tired drawing his hair tbh.
One apple a day keeps dr. Gero away. Ah yes, I forgot bout that.
Raditz breaks out of hell and comes after Goku and Piccolo for revenge
I wish Raditz was never introduced as Goku's brother, just as a regular saiyan.
0:20 wth on pc, when he says "hit that like button" some special effect happens to the like button when its not pressed
One thing that always upset me is Goku said fuck off to his brother and gave vegita a second chance. The fuck. And i don't care how strong you are that's his brother fam. Vegita got a pass because he was strong but poor raditzs was actual family and wasn't given a chance for redemption.
I always wondered what SSJ3 Raditz would look like... If hair could talk... ^^
Raddtz in would have been awesome in the tournament of power as an alternate saiyan. Could have gone to earth instead of Goku and been raised by Gohan
Mans got me wishing for a whole Radditz arc I never knew I needed.
Raditz was the very last time that Dragon Ball felt close to it’s original story, and even then it’s slipping
I really wish we had something more with Raditz.
If we were all being honest, Frieza being brought back was because Super doesn’t know how to write good villains so recycling the series’s most
Iconic villain was the best they could do. We shouldn’t use Supers horrible writing to justify Raditz coming back. I hate it with frieza and would hate it with Raditz.
5:38.....talking about literal jobbers in the frieza force lol. They look like they came out of create a wrestler lol
King cold told freeza to avoid beerus and buu. I did calcs on my own years ago and he fell short of fat buus power above ssj2 gohan and cell

You said goku wasn't taking chances after namek? Doesn't he give cell a sensu bean???
I respect that. Thank you for the correction. Maybe Genki isn't the best word for the concept of the Spirit Bomb?
@@ReeceHoward06 Rice cooker? I don't really get it
@@Trey5S5S I think it was called Denki Gama. Toriyama has a naming scheme to everything in Dragonball. Mostly food related items. Thats why Genki Dama doesn't necessarily make a whole lot of sense when taken literally.
9:24 Wait... is that CANNON!? When did Bardock fight Gas!!?? I don't watch Super
Sometimes I wish they redeemed Raditz, instead of Vegeta.
Vegeta doesnt really deserve everything he has tbh. Even with all he has, he still acts like an ungrateful ingrate
I was just thinking that like a story where Raditz just take vegeta spot Vegeta dies etc then Raditz marry bulma and trunks would be his son the story would be deeper if it was Goku and Raditz beating Villains and raditz being the one telling Goku about the sayians and etc
To be honest raditz wasn't even that bad lol. He was rather lenient and reasonable
