That Raditz story is, just, amazing. No other way to put it, him getting amnesia is a good parallel from Goku, bonding with his brother and nephew, regaining his memories, then being torn on what he should do, to end up sacrificing himself to save his brother and nephews and his friends in a genius way is such a good story.
The best part of it is it is accurate to his character. Think about it. If Vegeta or Freeza had shown up on Earth instead of Raditz, had the conversation Raditz did with Goku, and then Goku refused to join... how quickly do think Kamehouse would be on fire with Goku, Gohan, Roshi, Krillin, and Bulma dead? Raditz is absolutely a villain, he kidnaps Gohan, tries to coerce Goku into helping him commit genocide, he's awful. But he also clearly doesn't want to kill Goku. I don't think he planned to slay him outright until Goku's power doubled when he shot off that kamehameha. He could have easily killed Goku and Piccolo in any of their fights if he came out the gate trying. Knock out Raditz' memory and he'd probably be a pretty agreeable fellow.

Raditz was probably trying to figure out some way, _any_ way that he could avoid having to kill his little brother, as I suspect he was thinking how his parents wouldn't want him and his brother trying to kill each other. But because Raditz had been stuck for so long with Vegeta and Nappa, and because he'd been under Frieza's thumb for so long, he just didn't know _how_ to handle the situation peacefully. He probably figured that even if he decided to just go into hiding on Earth and stay with his brother that Vegeta and Nappa would eventually come looking for him, and that if that happened they would never stand a chance against them, even if Goku, Raditz, and Piccolo were to team up, and even if Gohan was trained well enough to join them in that fight. I suspect that if Radtiz were to be revived in the DBS timeline he'd be surprisingly amenable to living peacefully on Earth with Goku and the others, particularly with Vegeta there and having clearly mellowed out _a lot_ since Raditz saw him last. I kinda hope we get something along those lines in Super where Bardock, Gine, and Raditz return....in part because I just want to see Bardock and Gine reacting to finding out that not only is Kakarot okay, but that they are both grandparents and great-grandparents, and I'd love to see Gine just gushing and doting on Pan. Maybe even ad a bit of humor to it with Chi-Chi mistakenly thinking Gine is trying to "steal" Goku from her, only to get stopped cold in her tracks upon learning that Gine is her _mother-in-law_ of all things.

He is a bit less reckless and a bit more cunning. I don’t necessarily think he couldn’t be convinced but I can’t see him doing a self sacrifice to save goku ( especially that early)
I would love to see one of where Gohan kills Cell at the moment when Cell launches a massive Kamehameha from above and Gohan sends a bigger one toward him and instead of it wounding Cell it obliterates him completely then Goku would live and Gohan doesn't grow up to be a dork.

There's such a mixed bag of games you'll find at least one you'll like, fighting games 2-D and 3-D, card games, puzzle games, platformers, open worlds they've done it all and they usually do a good job
It actually makes sense that Gohans father would be to worried about him being injured to notice he was beating up the Supreme Kai, he was probably listening in on Gohan with his hearing to make sure he was okay.
0:30 in fact there was a planned Cell Saga What-If story which would be unlocked by winning as Yamcha against Dr. Gero and A19. This story was even fully translated in English and there's a video covering what remains unfinished in the files,and it's hilarious: Yamcha suggests rewriting Cell's programming so he becomes a good guy,and the Big Gete Star produces many clones of Android 13,19 and Metal Cooler. The best dbz what if stories are in the Supersonic Warriors games (Also Ultimate Butoden, but those are Japan only), SSW2 specially has a shit ton of them, very nice ones at that too.

Stop playing with Supersonic warriors 2 what-ifs, literally introduced storylines we’ve never even seen before. Majin Piccolo, Coola and Freeza taking over earth, a different future trunks from another alternate timeline etc
I remember there's a What if story in the first game about Future Goku teaching Future Krillin the Spirit Bomb and Kaio-ken to him before the attack of the androids. Krillin is one of my favorite characters, so seeing him gain these awesome abilities was quite the treat.
This gave raditz a lot more character then in the original, I really really wish he could’ve been saved, since he wasn’t treated right by Nappa or Vegeta at all, and always known as a weakling, it never felt fair for Raditz
In the Buu Saga What If, since Gohan never went Super Saiyan 2 and everyone else was supressing their energy, it makes sense that Yama and Spopovich would abandon the tournament since the strongest person they could detect would be Mr. Satan and that Babidi at that point would opt to kill Yama and Spopovich to use their energy instead This also explains why Majin Buu wasn't resurrected when Goku used Super Saiyan 3 to destroy Dabura because Babidi would've had alot less energy stored without Gohan
I REALLY hope sparking zero doesnt do these what if's half assed because they can go crazy with these scenarios especially since we have the super story and the tournament of power! I just hope they dont disappoint
About the Zarbon story, Goku by himself at that point could’ve handled 1st form Freeza. Base Goku’s PL was 90K and his training had allowed him to comfortably utilize KKX10 at that point putting him at 900K which’s nearly double Freeza’s 530K.
Except some of them aren't even what if stories and are just extra stories. (And then there's freedom which doesn't make sense since goku and the others fought broly during the cell saga so gero couldn't be alive to make broly his slave.)
Budokai Tenkaichi 2 has some great what-if scenarios by my heart beats for Supersonic Warriors Z. That one game man, can't replicate what it did for our Earthlings. Especially Krillin.
There's a mod of this game that expands and fixes some things about the story mode in Tenkaichi 2, this means that the what-ifs are bigger and more consistent with the original series. I don't remember what is called but searching for Tenkaichi 2 Mod Story or something like that should appear

When it comes to Goku showing up in the Zarbon story, I thought the idea was that Goku was already on his way and happen to show up just as Zarbon is in trouble. I mean, the events up to that point should have still happened with Bulma contacting Earth and Goku going to help his friends I'd assume.

I wish we got more of Raditz. Goku having a brother is such great potential for stories, but the guy comes and goes so quickly that nothing really happens with this premise.
I loved the what if stories. It was the only part of the games story mode i cared about. Because i saw the original story over & over in every bloody game.
Raditz's story is amazing. I think the only change I would've made to make it a bit more "canon" was if crashing his space pod into Vegeta and Nappa's would only delay the inevitable.
Raging Blast 1 had some pretty good stories too. Loved the Ginyu mini-arc, where the Ginyu put Zarbon and Dodoria for try outs(hilarious), then Ginyu is being a massive ass before Vegeta comes in, beats Ginyu and makes it the Vegeta Force.
I hope we see the Cellin what if story (Cell accidentally absorbs Krillin using the integration method meant for #17 and #18 and gets weaker). Or maybe a what if story where Raditz and Nappa survive and eventually join the Z fighters. (Nappa after being left behind on Earth and not killed by Vegeta). Or of course the best what if story of time travel GT Pan.
0:01 in I’ll stop you right there, the best what if scenario is future trunks hopping in his Time Machine and grabbing all the z warriors and going back in time to run the fade of kid gohan so he can become as tough as he was meant to be and none of the horrible things that happened in the world would have happened because gohan could have soloed.
Clearly, the reason Piccolo didn't immedately realize Shin was the Supreme Kai in this alternate timeline is because he was too busy being worried about Gohan. Dads gonna worry about their son.
I think the Reason we didnt get one in the ceel story is bacuse we got a Good one in the original DBZ budokai where cell absorbs Krillin instead of18 and becomes essentially an orange cell JR. and has to fight yamacha and Tien sure it turned to it was Cell having a Nightmare but thats hard to top
idk the zarbon story fell apart at the end cause they wanted to end it fast. teleporting goku straight up goes against what literally happens this exact same way in the show. and if goku can randomly hit buttons to make the ginyu spacepot work, how would zarbon not be able to fly the earth ship. plus if the ginyu force was on the planet, he couldve just used one of their ships while they are distracted fighting cooler? and vegetas ship is on the planet too. theres so many plotholes its crazy.
You know, I have this what If in the works if sparking Zero gets Dropped, heres most of it: Episode: Two Sayains from the Future United? Gotenks Reborn! This episode starts in the future timeline, Androids are causing havoc while Gohan is training with a slightly grown up trunks, when they get a message from king kai, coming specifically from piccolo, now fused with piccolo and had spent most of his time in the otherworld, he learned about the fusion technique, he quickly relays the information to Future Gohan and Trunks, Getting the Idea, they pressure the andriods together, after a hardfelt fight, Trunks and Gohan finally do the fusion dance, eventually fusing in Gotenks, this time, it's a **Serious** Gotenks, and with a easy battle, the Future Fusions finaly win the battle. That's basically the plotline for the What If, if theres anything that doesn't make sense, I'll edit
My favorite thing about What-Ifs is when less prominent characters get the spotlight. I'm probably not going to advocate for Raditz or Zarbon to make a comeback in the main story with their own dedicated arcs (though I also wouldn't complain), but here, the writers get to explore some of the potential these characters have. I really like both of their stories, though I do agree that the one set during the Buu Saga feels somewhat weaker. I do appreciate the changes to the plot, but I would've liked to see more results stemming from the premise rather than things adjacent to it.

I loved the what if stories. It was the only part of the games story mode i cared about. Because i saw the original story over & over in every bloody game.

Raditz's story is amazing. I think the only change I would've made to make it a bit more "canon" was if crashing his space pod into Vegeta and Nappa's would only delay the inevitable.

Raging Blast 1 had some pretty good stories too. Loved the Ginyu mini-arc, where the Ginyu put Zarbon and Dodoria for try outs(hilarious), then Ginyu is being a massive ass before Vegeta comes in, beats Ginyu and makes it the Vegeta Force.

0:01 in I’ll stop you right there, the best what if scenario is future trunks hopping in his Time Machine and grabbing all the z warriors and going back in time to run the fade of kid gohan so he can become as tough as he was meant to be and none of the horrible things that happened in the world would have happened because gohan could have soloed.
Clearly, the reason Piccolo didn't immedately realize Shin was the Supreme Kai in this alternate timeline is because he was too busy being worried about Gohan. Dads gonna worry about their son.

As far as what if scenarios go I had kinda wished we had gotten a what-if option for goku joining the saiyans and becoming a villain

The raditz story is very emotional, i really wanted that his character ended differently
I think the Reason we didnt get one in the ceel story is bacuse we got a Good one in the original DBZ budokai where cell absorbs Krillin instead of18 and becomes essentially an orange cell JR. and has to fight yamacha and Tien sure it turned to it was Cell having a Nightmare but thats hard to top
Tenkaichi 2 what ifs were phenomenal
idk the zarbon story fell apart at the end cause they wanted to end it fast. teleporting goku straight up goes against what literally happens this exact same way in the show. and if goku can randomly hit buttons to make the ginyu spacepot work, how would zarbon not be able to fly the earth ship.
plus if the ginyu force was on the planet, he couldve just used one of their ships while they are distracted fighting cooler? and vegetas ship is on the planet too.
theres so many plotholes its crazy.

Episode: Two Sayains from the Future United? Gotenks Reborn!
This episode starts in the future timeline, Androids are causing havoc while Gohan is training with a slightly grown up trunks, when they get a message from king kai, coming specifically from piccolo, now fused with piccolo and had spent most of his time in the otherworld, he learned about the fusion technique, he quickly relays the information to Future Gohan and Trunks, Getting the Idea, they pressure the andriods together, after a hardfelt fight, Trunks and Gohan finally do the fusion dance, eventually fusing in Gotenks, this time, it's a **Serious** Gotenks, and with a easy battle, the Future Fusions finaly win the battle.
That's basically the plotline for the What If, if theres anything that doesn't make sense, I'll edit

Supersonic warriors 1 and 2 were all about what ifs and were pretty good tbh
My favorite thing about What-Ifs is when less prominent characters get the spotlight. I'm probably not going to advocate for Raditz or Zarbon to make a comeback in the main story with their own dedicated arcs (though I also wouldn't complain), but here, the writers get to explore some of the potential these characters have. I really like both of their stories, though I do agree that the one set during the Buu Saga feels somewhat weaker. I do appreciate the changes to the plot, but I would've liked to see more results stemming from the premise rather than things adjacent to it.
The best what is story is what if Goku was locked in the Hyperbolic time chamber for 1 gatrillion years.

This game was really ahead of its time
