Fantastic, love it! On my own so made up the dry ingredients for the batter then just used about a third of the recipe. Will save the rest for another day. Deeeelicious! Turned out I didn't have Harissa so I used Sambal Oelek, and the flavour is just beautiful. Thanks for a great appetizer recipe, Chetna!

I love everything with cauliflower, but I don't like to deep fry, it feels like I am wasting too much oil. I don't cook that much so I could not reuse such an amount of oil. I might try pan frying it or possibly in the oven. BTW I could finally buy a big pot of Gochujang paste and now I am adding it into everything. So far I fried mushrooms, cauliflower, courgette, potatoes, got a bit of char on them in a pan and added a tablespoon of the paste. Turned out great every single time.

You can filter the oil trough a fine sieve and then freeze it to use it in the future without it going rancid.

In the US there is corn flour and corn starch. It looks like you are using corn starch. Is that correct?

I have this issue of corn flour versus corn starch, and I also think she is using corn starch. I purchased corn flour from an Indian grocery and It's corn meal in the US.

Crisps, or potato chips as us Yanks call them, the good ones anyway, are outstanding. Unless you have diabetes. Then you should avoid them. Something like this recipe is very common in the States, generally under the name of Buffalo Cauliflower, a vegetarian (sometimes vegan) take on Buffalo chicken wings. I avoided it for years due its association with a non-shakahari food item, but it actually is pretty good when made well (meaning lots of chili). I probably would not like the Harissa version (there is usually caraway in Harissa, or the Devil's seed, as I call it), but it is easy enough to use other spice mixes. Americans tend to serve this with ranch dressing, another food item to avoid at all costs. I prefer some class of desi chutney or pickle, the hotter the better. Sriracha mayo also works in a pinch.
BTW, the video is out of sync with the audio here--probably should have led with that.
