Orchid Bay is shaping up to be the most beautiful vanilla city I've ever seen. With such great care and attention to detail each and every episode, you can clearly see the love put into it. Keep up the great work mate!
The way you play vanilla has completely changed the way I view the game. With C:S in the state it is, with all the DLC and such, it's amazing how detailed you can get!
I love everything about this, lol. The extravagant walking path gives it an interest and feels very modern, the transport tower's positioning as an "introduction" of height for those driving into the downtown area, the the elevated train tracks and roads to have this element of a safety and even sound barrier and the detailing ties it all together. Lovely.
this is the best day since the remastered announcement. we console players finally got all the missing DLC's and now we get to use everything we've learned from the build guide with the skyscraper assets!!
Wee comment and 👍 up. We are off to Majorca for 10 nights, no kids no dog and our first holiday in 4 years. Egg thanks for all your content, I can speak for many, you have kept us entertained, laughing and sane through these last few years. Many thanks....❤️
I am in full support of your train design. No matter how nit picky I get with my modded builds you may good looking cities seem so easy. Quite the inspiration
I found this episode extra inspiring egg. I don’t play cities, but I am an Architecture student so this stuff is interesting to me. The way you incorporated so many different personalities into the thought process of your design is amazing
Careful those new quay walls with trees caused tons of issues in my game. Primarily it broke all my public transit. As soon I removed them, it fixed all the issues.
Indeed. In my experience the bug is that the number of nodes adds up rapidly using those quays. The max nodes count will be reached fast. And that results in issues with public transport, broken connections and not able to add stops anymore.
i love how you control so well the shape of the terrain and the height, when i play and press to lower the terrain is makes a huge hole or something else i dont want it
What an awesome blend of parklife and plazas and promenades! ❤ A feast for the eyes for real. (also how have I never thought of putting in parklife plazas diagonally?! they look soo cool!) The HoK waterfront is chef's kiss, and love love love the elevated train track. Sights are amazing with all the layers and again from every possible angle. 😍
Absolutely beautiful park And love the small additions of shops and houses The park feels like it was founded by the big tower in front. The monorail looking Abondend because it stops suddenly reminds me of something from like south America or Asia where they wanted to build something and then suddenly stopped because money ran out or something, my head Canon now hehe
Super build again! I also like to place the bird house in park areas to create interest, its a really great asset. Also ... spotted a little cheeky Move It action in there!
Another great build and use of awkward space! I love how you mix and match assets from different dlc too! You have taught me so much about how to play this game and I thank you so much!
Egg, this build was such a great use of an awkward space! It came out so nicely, the layers of elevation are choice. One question- those 3 plazas on the diagonal, did you mean to put bushes all the way around them on every side? 😅 I was wondering how the cims would be able to get in and out of them hahaha
I'm probably late here, but I would say an amusement park would work great in the area all the plazas were just placed in this episode. Would make sense right off the ferry/tourism sector that's been created there! Anyways loving Orchid Bay mate!
You, sir, are the Master of Vanilla. You not only make it look incredibly easy to do, but you make it incredibly beautiful too. Well thought out, fantastically detailed, and a sense of Place that is very difficult to achieve. Watching you play this game is always a highlight of my day. Thank you, as always, for your boundless creativity and your wonderfully generous soul, and for sharing yourself with us. Love you ❤️ (I'm feeling quite nostalgic and I haven't even had any ciders)
Egg I can’t catch up on your videos because your British Bob Ross impression is curing my insomnia. Keep on growing strong and I’ll catch up…some day! 🖤
There are few people that can hold a candle to your detailing skills, they're superb! That said, sometimes I question the intent. You've got a park where you have gazebos set up next to train tracks? Trains are loud, I don't think they're so appealing that folks would want to have a meal at the cafe next to them, or want to chill with their peeps in a gazebo next to them. Meanwhile, you've got thick trees between all those lookout and the OCEAN. I would flip those two ideas, and use trees to shield from the trains and open up some water vistas. Yah there's roadways between them but they're on a downslope so the water views should remain intact. ;-)
Nice build. Maybe a bit excessive to have a fence next to the highway ramp sound barrier (the ramp leading from the oldest part and into the unbuilt areas)
You definitely do good work. Even with ALL the mods I usually struggle to make my roads and interchanges look deliberate rather than flung spaghetti. But, and this is a critique of C:S TH-cam in general, this is why I rarely watch the long-form videos. I don't know what elevation trick was promised by the title. The rail line? That is a fun trick, looks neat, but I don't "need" it. C:S 'Tubers do this all the time- put up a title about some specific thing then spend an hour just doing generic gameplay without ever highlighting the thing from the title.
I know you won't see this comment but a bit of commercial in the river community around the plazas area would make the community feel more realistic and a bike and predestination connections. Probably need a second entrance for police, Fire, EMS and Cities Service around the Farry area. It a long road and would be a pain for the above Services to help the people at the end. Great job on the area.
18:31 you could turn the info booth by 90° CCW so that it's front is on the new short stretch of path and both the existing path and the ped road are decorated by the bushes on the side
wow! I just came across this video and your way of building looks good and nice, seems like there is alot to learn from your channel, i'll take a look into more videos of you!
You make adding green space seem so easy to design. Couple things, why didn't you connect road at backside of transport to the other road past the bridge. Also, think the park asset at the park entrance should be a different one, when you used 4 of them already at the front of the transport tower. Always great builds and ideas of how to bring things together. 👍😁
I appreciate that not allowing overtaking on both sides is not universal, but the way you have the access ramps set up at 08:00 means slow vehicles join the fast road in the fast lane . As you're English, I would have thought this would make you uncomfortable.
This episode was really useful and has triggered some ideas for my city :) Slightly random question but how is your RTX 3070 holding up with all the DLC? Do you share your game settings anywhere as it seems a nice balance of quality and performance.
Excellent build as usual. I love the way you make the transportation network feel useful as well as aesthetically pleasing. Question: You said there is new content coming at the end of the month. What is this? I seem to be a tad belated in my following of Cities: Skylines news.
A few more content creator packs are coming. Industrial revolution, Brooklyn & queens (mostly medium density residential), hotels & retreats, and railroads of Japan
Could the monorail track break off from the road to run parallel over the train track and connect back up to the road? I think that would look neat! The height would then remain fairly consistent (maybe)
Too bad only the train driver will get to see that view down track approaching the downtown tall buildings, pretty awesome. Don't know if they fixed the new vanilla key, but it broke my paths, caused them to run out at game load.
How were you able to get the zoo assets into a city park? Don't they need to be in a zoo to work? Second question, when did they get unlocked? I don't remember a zoo build ever. I might just be forgetting something, but where is the zoo?
After watching this, I'm going to go look at my city again and reconsider my gaming life choices. That train elevation trick should also work with highways, right?
I'm having such a hard time with this game, if the map is not perfectly flat then my buildings are flattening the terrain so bad that it leaves huge holes or platforms wherever I place a building and it looks terrible. I don't see anyone else having this happen and don't understand if there is a setting I hit or something?
Can anyone tell me at which episodes Egg introduces specific DLCs? I'm going for a play-along and don't have every DLC yet, so I'm trying to mantain my budget here ':D I'm currently on episode 4, when he introduces Snowfall. How it goes next and at which episode?
I don't tend to introduce dlc in this series, just use what I need when I need it. My Noobs Guide series starts with base game and then slowly introduces each pack, that might be more what you are after 😌
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG Oh my god, I commented on the wrong video. I was recently watching the start of this series, so I must have switched playlists. Sorry about that, but yeah, I was talking about Noob Guide, could you maybe provide me with that list, please? Anyway I really enjoy your commentary, feels like listening to the old pal.

Thank you! Glad you are having fun :)
same. Before I watched this series i just mass zoned everything and added a few services. Now I always add more details and make everything beautiful
I love everything about this, lol. Lovely.
I think next episode you should sort out the residential demand by building some small neighbourhoods around the city!
Yes! Maybe a live stream of that would fit in with this series!
this is the best day since the remastered announcement. we console players finally got all the missing DLC's and now we get to use everything we've learned from the build guide with the skyscraper assets!!

Ah thanks bro! I'm glad the videos can help inspire an Architecture student haha!
Your talent for filling out awkward spaces is always amazing!! Loved this build! Would love to see residential expansion next :D

Love the park Egg. Like the creativity with the walking path, aesthetically pleasing and interesting.
Did someone say ELEVATION?
Wooooo, wooo-ooo-hooo
That's a very nice trick he did there!
i love how you control so well the shape of the terrain and the height, when i play and press to lower the terrain is makes a huge hole or something else i dont want it

Absolutely beautiful park

36:05 move it! 😮😮😮😅
Another great build and use of awkward space! I love how you mix and match assets from different dlc too! You have taught me so much about how to play this game and I thank you so much!
did you use moveit for the couplets road? 36:08
Bro i saw it too.
He is literally using mods........
Look carefully..... there's an entrance at the middle one off the walking path..
This is beautiful! I love that elevated train. And those Korean residential buildings are gorgeous!
I'm probably late here, but I would say an amusement park would work great in the area all the plazas were just placed in this episode. Would make sense right off the ferry/tourism sector that's been created there!
Anyways loving Orchid Bay mate!
Hi egg
nice work, I really like the city
but I think the bicycle road should have more connect with the main road on the coast
keep the nice work
I really love the asthetics of the "elevated" train line.
Absolutely great idea.

Really love the long siteline to the big towers!! It's really cool 😍 Keeping it green at the same time!
Always some cool new stuff with your builds. I think the slightly elevated rail line is s new favorite. The couplet interchange looks great, too.
Egg I can’t catch up on your videos because your British Bob Ross impression is curing my insomnia. Keep on growing strong and I’ll catch up…some day! 🖤

41:33 I feel like there needs to be a fence protecting the kids from wandering over to the train tracks when the parents aren’t paying attention
Loving this series!!! Thank you for sharing with us 😊
Glad you enjoy it!
The way you utilise all the dlc's assets is nothing but genius.
"I do love a wild hedge"
Egg's videos/70s men😂
Banger build, a little slow for my liking but I still love the series and use it mostly as background or when I’m tired, absolute banger
Nice build. Maybe a bit excessive to have a fence next to the highway ramp sound barrier (the ramp leading from the oldest part and into the unbuilt areas)
Waiting for the airport 😸

Great job on the area.
Very nice built. At 38:03 the lantern protrudes through the street.
really interested and would love to see how ur traffic is going next episode! the infrastructure in this city is perfect
Perfect timing for me to get some inspiration while I'm taking my lunch break from the game. Bank Holiday life 👌
There is no limitation to build for this game! Your guide is helpful anyway it depends on people style instead!
18:31 you could turn the info booth by 90° CCW so that it's front is on the new short stretch of path and both the existing path and the ped road are decorated by the bushes on the side
An amusment park would look super nice in the city😊 i hope you have planned one haha
Surprised that you haven't put in a hedge maze in a park with your use of the line tool and bushes. I think that be really cute💜
wow! I just came across this video and your way of building looks good and nice, seems like there is alot to learn from your channel, i'll take a look into more videos of you!

Wonderful Episode Egg!😊 Really like that trick with the trainline👍
That sunken but elevated train track through the park. Yes please!
This city is beautiful and your videos are so relaxing
This episode was really useful and has triggered some ideas for my city :)
Slightly random question but how is your RTX 3070 holding up with all the DLC? Do you share your game settings anywhere as it seems a nice balance of quality and performance.
This build was really awesome. Which Prop line tool you are using. I was using one and it is buggy
Bro.... You nailed it once again! I hope to get to your level someday.
With the railway line embanked you could run a road of path underneath it to further improve connectivity
How do you change elevation of roads so incrementally, my goes from ground straight to standard bridge height
Change your elevation step in the bottom left
the high speed tracks look awesome!
boy that residential demand is big, nice build by the way
Five ring park made me think about how cool building an Olympic park would be!
Could the monorail track break off from the road to run parallel over the train track and connect back up to the road? I think that would look neat! The height would then remain fairly consistent (maybe)
I’m really enjoying this serie, every time I see the new episode I can’t wait to watch it. How long before the international airport? 😃
Hats off Sensei; bang job as always. Amazing stuff
The chirper balloon in the cinematics!😂😂
That elevated train line looks so good! How do you come up with all these great ideas?
The "Birthday Plaza" was absolutely horrendous 🤣🤣🤣
Didn't CPP get that monoline harbour to work?
With the new CCP and update (?) CO should add an option to replace trees in park assets like you're able with roads and pathways
I found this episode especially inspiring!
Too bad only the train driver will get to see that view down track approaching the downtown tall buildings, pretty awesome. Don't know if they fixed the new vanilla key, but it broke my paths, caused them to run out at game load.
Is it me or is that uturn at 9ish too close to the on ramp?
A few observation decks and lookout towers from the nature park items would do as well.
Hey there, I saw that use of Move It. ;)
Amazing episode, haven't watched it yet.
I can't not chuckle every time I see the Catfish Cafe. The Internet ruins everything!
How were you able to get the zoo assets into a city park? Don't they need to be in a zoo to work?
Second question, when did they get unlocked? I don't remember a zoo build ever. I might just be forgetting something, but where is the zoo?
That park is AWESOME
At this rate the Highway should be called Bob E. Ross Expressway. E as in Egg, because you are the Bob Ross of City Skylines.
Can Orchid Bay be real please? This would be such a cool place to visit! I’m loving how well everything is coming together 🥰
Great episode sir! The blending of park life and other assets came out very nicely ❤❤❤
After watching this, I'm going to go look at my city again and reconsider my gaming life choices. That train elevation trick should also work with highways, right?
Hey egg, huge fan and trying to replicate this episode by episode on console. You're an inspiration thanks for the awesome ideas.
40:36 fence police 🚨🚨🚨
Great building as always!
The gazebos look great for watching trains.
The city looks absolutely beautiful Egg.
How about using the flowery bushes sometimes!? ❤❤
36:06 move it ???
Amazing video, the networks look amazing.
Amazing as always🎉
I love that the Birthday Plaza is ugly enough to break the "If it fits, it sits" rule 😆
I'm having such a hard time with this game, if the map is not perfectly flat then my buildings are flattening the terrain so bad that it leaves huge holes or platforms wherever I place a building and it looks terrible. The British in me cringes when i see the trainlines without fences! THINK OF THE HEALTH AND SAFETY! lol 🤣
love it, can you make snowy hill
Yay
Great vanilla trick that!
"AB-SO-LUT-LEE.... NOT!" - referring to the birthday plaza.... lmao
amazing, just amazing
