With every new video I feel more bittersweet since Cities 1 is coming to an end soon. What a great ride, I hope CS2 will be supported for just as long!
Most won't switch to CS2 completely for a while anyways. There will be a lot of missing content and mods at the start of CS2. Sooo, a lot of great time to be had with CS1 for sure. I personally will wait well into the lifetime of CS2 to pick it up in a sale with some DLCs bundled in
@@thegreatdodo5092oubt it. Look at KSP 1 and 2. The second game was(and still is) a mess upon release. Yet most people, and also youtubers made the switch
For sure. All of the new CCPs have appropriate signage on them that fits the style/theme. You'll find no silly, pink octopi vomited up over all the buildings. I think CO will still want to throw in a bit of whimsy from time to time, but nothing like we've seen in the past. Let's hope not. Silly stuff is not going to sell as well in a sophisticated gaming community.
It would be nice to have the ability to choose which kind of realistic buildings you want on a fairly fine level. Like “I want brick housing blocks for HD residential, brownstones for LD residential, a mix of italianate downtown and 5-over-one for mixed res/comm, etc.” I can get that in CS1 by plopping all my rico, but it would be nice to not have to do that.
There's actually an neighborhood in Brooklyn NY called Dumbo, and no it isn't named after the Disney elephant. Its actually an acronym for "Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass". Very Welsh naming style if you ask me, with a distinctly American flair for acronyms, and appropriate considering location.
Despite being two different content creators, the mesh between Industrial Rev--er--Evolution and B&Q works extremely well. Major parts of Brooklyn were built up as huge industry in the mid 1900s, with the residential areas close by. I don't think there's any two packs that go together as well, so GREAT shout to you to throw that small B&Q resi district near your generic industry there!
Another amazing build Egg. Love how the Brooklyns and Queens stuff fits organically beside the new Industrial buildings. Definitely the inspiration I'm taking away from the episode.
Unsurprisingly enjoyed this. Although I can't get on board with the new industrial bridge with the ironwork in the water. Looks like the area has flooded. Apart from nit-picking, though, this looks great, and it's so wonderful to see the new content packs appearing in Orchid Bay
@@aroset select the road type you want to upgrade to, pick the zoning you want and upgrade. Be carful as the zoning tab doesn't seem to default back to both sides so if you pick no zoning and 10min later upgrade somewhere else the zoning will change too. 👍
This was the most exciting game of tetris I've ever seen. 😁 So easy to get lost in the sea of all the new assets, especially when all of them are top notch, but how satisfying when it all comes together in the end. ❤ Can't wait to see what you can do with them in Thessia 😊
What about Pear Tree Productions Industrial Area? Have a bit of Alan in the Orchid Bay lore? There are reports that it was while waiting for the monorail at the ferry hub terminal that Alan had his road to Damascus moment whilst going cold turkey and gave up the Toblerone. It would be some years before he would revisit Orchid Bay to watch his book, Bouncing Back, go into the city's pulp factory. Having seen the parallel lift in the city's fortunes alongside his own, it was safe to say, they had both had the last laugh.
Industrial Evolution and Brooklyn & Queens are great additions. I hope the number of homes in each B&Q building is more realistic than the ordinary vanilla high density. Thanks for another great video! 😻
Been a fan of Avanya’s work for a long time. Between these two new CCPs and European Suburbia I don’t see myself ever using vanilla industry or residential again.
I think a nice Easter egg to the that new bridge would have been a small waterfall. It is orchard bay and a beautiful nature views is a must. Nice build.
The recent content creator packs have been so great. I wish Colossal Order released these at this rate through the life of the game. There would be a lot more vanilla variety.
It is quite the sight watching your mind work through those timelapses! Loving the production rate too 😉 Thanks 🙏 Also... A little decorative ring of trainline might look good inside that roundabout, along with the Japanese railroad statue
Paradox and Collosal Order are pushing out quite a farewell to C:S 1. So much good new content, and OE, you incorparate it beautifully. Can't even imagine what C:S 2 will really look like and what features it will have...
I love vanilla industry now! The orientation near the new cargo train warehouses is soooo satisfying! Orientation King strikes again! My name suggestion for the area is Oil-Vanya :) homage to Avanya's amazing creations.
11:37 there's been 2 power lines in the middle of the residential zoning that you forgot to remove in one of the first episodes (not to be a nitpicker but it's been bugging me for a while 😅) also, i believe you missed one road segment when you were changes the trees to birch in the Queen's residential area (there's also a gap in the fence where the path used to pass through - along the main road (looks like this was fixed in the detailing timelapse ahaha))
Those new industrial buildings are amazing! I love the mixture of mostly the 20th century style with a few of the 19th century brick style too. There is an old (and still active) street light factory near me that is like that, having grown over time, with new additions being in whatever style factories were being built at the time. Hopefully you made most or all of those historical to preserve that mix. I also liked the New York style apartments which are so much more realistic than vanilla, and the sprinkling of Japanese stuff where needed but not too much that the area started to turn into Tokyo. Though I always get a chuckle when I see one of those “police boxes” which look nothing like what I think of as a police box. Though the kind I am used to is more likely to have a Doctor in it than a cop…
Name suggestion for industrial area: Evolving Revolutionary Industries The best thing about the B&Q CCP is that it will fit in and adapt to multiple settings depending on how you decorate/detail/build around them. They can be perfect for public housing, middle income housing, or even fit in fine with downtown/expensive housing. Very versatile.
I know its a vanilla build and it looks great but, as a bridge inspector, seeing the steel parts if the industrial bridge sitting IN the water made me cringe a bit.
I think CS2 has a lot to live up to given all the great content released recently...... I wonder if CS2 comes with most of the content released for CS already included?
I think that this CCP will forever be known by everyone as the Industrial Revolution pack. 🤣 I don't think it can be anything else. Great build though, very cool. Those airport aprons as concrete areas are a game changer for the vanilla players.
Great vid as always egg, that indent from the factory would be a great place to put a warehouse, also seeing the new brooklyn buildings makes me want to play The Division again
I just wish they would do this with the Vanilla Residentials...some of them are so God awful looking, especially next to content creation zones. They look like the background drawings in cartoons from the 80s
Your videos have blown me away and helped me to develop my building style so much too! I'm trying to place your accent, where in the uk are you from? Keep up the cracking builds 👌 much love
I have the same problem, the new add-ons just don't show up in the menus on console. Through the PS App I was able to find them, but I am not able to purchase them. Hopefully someone knows what the problem is and this will be fixed soon.
Good video! I don’t think you upgraded one part of the highway in between the new interchange and the older interchange. You upgraded 2/3 parts and didn’t the last one because the train bridge was too close.

Since you quoted the Alan Partridge sketch, a fitting name for the new oil industry area could be Partridge Petroleum!
I'm so glad vanilla industries just got a much needed glow up. This looks incredible. yes please.
a small commuter train station by the river next to the new public housing could be handy for all those new residents.

I just started the video and was hoping that would be fixed. Gonna drive me bonkers, for no reason at all lol.
I love all the new things they’ve added to the game but I am bummed that they’ve never thought to add different power lines.
Would have been nice
That view from the new bridge is tasty!
Brooklyn & Queens was a good shout for that spot too, transitions nicely in to the industrial area
You actually can just use the upgrade tool to change the zoning.
How please

Just a thought. You should change out your coal power plant for the new one that came out. The Advance coal power plant
Maybe I should watch it all the way through before committing 😅

Yes the new content i have been waiting for. Industry is a huge part of al my builds and one of my faverorite things to build.
Another episode that has left me grinning from ear to ear. So satisfying but still leaves you with wanting more. Lots of cool stuff still to come.

Lol welcome to the present!
Not sure that metallic structure of the new bridge should be underwater
I have been calling it Industrial Revolution too. Didn't realize my mistake until this episode. You're not alone 🤣
1:42 River in OHIOOOO!!! Swag like OHIO!
This district should be called, hmm, I think Orchid+Ohio, maybe Orchio? Just because of that river
Such a fantastic build!
Won’t all the trees just die sat next to industry? Also, too much of the new bridge supports are underwater imo.
Oh yes man, the new industrial builds is what I was waiting for and 2 episodes of orchid bay in a few days, love it!!!
Thanks for adding my queens red brick building. Yes we were on the main road, Bell Blvd.
I’m terrible at naming things but if this new industrial district doesn’t have Revolution in its name ……

The Industrial Evolution and the Brooklyn & Queens CCPs look fantastic in Orchid Bay. They really are much better styles of zoning.
Wonderful ideas of how to use the new assets. Thank you.
The Bridge Police may have something to say about that.
22:42 I just realized that the warehouse with train connections looks like a train depot.
The new paint feature is a literal game changer
vanilla cs could really use a 'favourites' tab where you can star a certain asset and have it appear in a separate tab so you have easier access to it
you said industrial REVOLUTION like 10 times lol

With the zoning toggle, you can upgrade the road. Just like you would switch the direction on a one way road.
