Just had Monte's for the first time, literally 10 seconds ago. Totally lives up to the score. Dave, they are SLAMMED but still were all smiling and super pleasant. You can tell they very much appreciate the press and are excited to seize the opportunity.

Monte’s is a really new place and the people are super nice, but gotta try some of the Maine classics, too. I did the landscaping at Monte’s before they had their grand opening and they were very gracious and gave us pizza!

Montes is amazing. The owner moved to Rome and lived there solely to learn from the pizza makers over there. That location used to be a dingy pizza place that shut down. Montes came in and turned it into something amazing. I used to work down the road and ate there way too often. The 8.4 to me confirms Dave has amazing taste
My neck of the woods!! Monte's is killer, amazing store. You can walk right down the street to the park and enjoy the weather(when it's nice) with your pie. Portland is VERY underrated for food, lots of good places. Try Alex's Pizza in Biddeford. Amazing small pies only, the old oven is ancient..

Pizza by Alex in Biddeford, ME is really good.. I'm not from there but used to go there on vacation every year as a child.. I know that the place is still going strong..
It's sadly not. The owners sold it some years ago and took all their seasoned pans with them and the new owners just don't have the same touch. Thankfully the old oven remains but it's nowhere near as good as it used to be. Coletti's is the new Biddo hotspot. On the plus side Alex now takes card, on the negative they no longer sell weed out of the basement! 😆

I’ve watched you for enough years to know me and you love the same type of pizza all around and this is gonna be an easy 8.1-8.9 for you, unless you really end up loving it like i do, you may end up even throwing it a 9 man. It was cut Roman style. Like a hash rather than a spoke through the center. Which leaves a few pieces on the outer edge that are the traditional triangle shape but most are square. Yes, I'm fun at parties.

Tried it today, excellent pizza, their red sauce isn’t that great, a bit “too overwhelming” but the sausage ricotta pie with a white sauce was worth the drive and the dough is amazing. Great staff as well definitely would go back!
I need to reply too this. I just went to montes and I too thought the red sauce wasn't that good but I thought due to being underwhelming. Tasted like crushed tomatoes and that's it.

Dave gives a high score when he's off the adderall, this makes sense and is making it hard to take the rating system seriously. I used to take it daily and it kills your appetite and makes you appreciate food less.
As somebody literally waiting for my Adderall to be filled by 5pm after already being made to wait a week, I can confirm that shit just falls apart without it if you're a scatterbrain like us.

I made there back in Feb. Amazing pizza!! My family all agreed it was one of the best pizza we've ever had.
