I am going to be 65 very shortly and have taken care of my skin since I was very young but I didn't use sunscreen at all. I grew up on the beach in southern California and we slathered oil on our skin and laid out in the sun for hours. I wish I knew then what I do now. Anyway, I used good skin care back then but went through a phase where I just washed my face and slapped on some makeup. About 5 years ago I started noticing the hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and just general skin sagging that unfortunately happens with age. I think it is so smart for young people today to keep on top of their skin care and to always take the time to research as new things are being developed all the time. Wear sunscreen religiously both indoors and outside. I use a lot of Korean and Japanese skin care as Korea has long been a leader in developing and revolutionizing skin care. I follow Gothamista here on YT and can recommend her channel without hesitation. She also has dry skin so her recommendations work well for me. Your skin looks beautiful, Taylor. Congratulations on finding a routine that works for you. Deborah
@@bitteredsweeticee I totally agree. When she posted her Sephora Rouge sale guide, I was literally without any skin care. I had just returned from a 5 week trip to Europe and had used everything up while I was there. I was pretty much using 100% Drunk Elephant with some Tatcha and Sunday Riley thrown in and I thought it was all working well. After watching her video and others over the years I decided to pack it in and just order one thing from each category that she gave. That was about 3 weeks ago now and I am even more amazed at how my skin is looking. I always rub my left over skin care from face, neck and chest onto my hands and the other day a lady stopped me and asked me what hand lotion I use as my hands looked so soft, without wrinkles and no age spots. My face has responded to the changes really almost overnight. I am excited for what will happen when I have been using her recommendations for longer than 3 weeks.
@@bitteredsweeticee I literally went through her video and under the video she lists her recommendations in each of the categories. I picked one from each category and did some price comparison and then just ordered everything. 1. First step cleansing I use Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil and then follow that with either Tula Purifying Face Cleanser or the Nuxe Reve de Miel Cleanser depending on how dry my skin feels. Once or twice a week I will use the MIBA Calcium Ion Cleanser. This wasn't on Renee's list but I had seen another Korean makeup artist recommend it so I ordered it and started using it just before adding the recommendations from Renee. 2. Step 2 is kind of a two part for me. I use Missha First Essence Toner Mist and then Kiehl's 12.5 % Vitamin C Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate. The Missha makes the Kiehl's product go further and not feel quite so heavy on my skin. I am a bit of a mist junkie and am always trying new ones. 3. At night I apply Farmacy Honeymoon Glow and during the daytime I use Tula Pro Glycolic 10% PH Resurfacing Gel. I replaced Good Genes with the Farmacy Honeymoon Glow and I did that with some trepidation as I love Good Genes but the stuff is so expensive and I really don't like the smell. I have used it for about 3 years though and do feel it is an excellent acid but if I can get the same results with something cheaper why not? So far, I am feeling like the Farmacy is getting the job done at a cheaper price point and no horrible scent. My skin likes acids a lot so I use them twice a day but don't recommend this to anyone who has sensitive skin or who has not used acids before. 4. Blythe Vital Treatment Essence for Hydration 5. Blythe Tundra Chaga Pressed Serum This stuff is seriously concentrated and a little goes a long way. I am really loving this product. 6. At night only I add Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate and Glow Oil if I feel like I need a little extra hydration and during the day if I want a little more hydration I add Clinique Jelly Moisturizer. 7. Algenist Genius Liquid Collagen Lip It took me a little bit to warm up to this product as it gave my tongue a slight numbing sensation the first few times I used it. I don't notice it now and it does plump up my lip lines which I love. In fact, I am loving it so much I am thinking about trying the Genius Liquid Collagen for face. Also the lip collagen treatment can be added during the day if needed. 8. The only product I am not sure about is the Tatcha Pearl Tinted Eye Treatment. It made my mascara run the first time I used it so I am careful to not put it too close to my lashes. I thought it might impart some coverage as it is tinted like a concealer but it doesn't have any coverage at all. You use such a small amount, literally like the size of a grain of rice so the tub will last me at least 3 years and will likely go bad long before I use it up. Not noticing much in terms of eficacy so may switch back to my Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic and Retinol Gel for eyes. 9. Supergoop Translucent Powder SPF 45 for reapplying sunscreen during the day. 10. At bedtime I add Nuxe Reve de Miel Nourishing Lip Balm over the Algenist Lip treatment. Once or twice a week I use the Tatcha Enzyme Rice Powder for exfoliation and that is an HG product for me. I will never give that up. Masks: I like Drunk Elephant Sukari Baby Facial Dior Rose Mask Boscia Charcoal mask I am currently trying out the Kate Somerville Sunscreen and liking it a lot. It sits well under makeup and doesn't give me a white cast. It looks like a lot of products and it is but is actually much less than my previous routine and this is actually significantly cheaper. My skin has never been clearer, softer, more hydrated and makeup is sitting so beautifully on my skin. Deborah
@@bitteredsweeticee Your very welcome, Stephanie. Skin care can be very intimidating and stressful. It takes so long sometimes to notice whether there is any change and the whole time you are wondering if you are doing it right, is the product ever going to work, is there something better out there, etc. I know how you feel about being intimidated by all the products and I am the kind of person who always thinks the next big thing is just around the corner and I don't want to miss it. I feel like I am going to stick with this product list for awhile as I am liking how my skin is looking and I just purchased all of these so want to give them a fair chance. Usually, I don't change every product as it is difficult to know what is working and what isn't. Usually like to change out only 1 or 2 products at a time but this was a unique circumstance where I ran out of everything at the same time and the Sephora sale was going on so what better time to do it and at a fraction of the cost. You are very smart to start so young. I didn't really start paying attention until about 3 years ago and so I have felt like I am behind the curve all of the time. I think a lot of people use Retin A and it certainly has a proven track record but for me at 65, it doesn't feel quite right. I don't know why except to say that having to gradually acclimate my skin over several months or years doesn't seem like the best option for me personally. I am lucky in that I do have dry skin which is similar to Renee's so her recommendations usually work for me. Skin care is such a personal thing so I hope that whatever you decide to do, you like it and I don't think that any products that Renee recommends are likely to be horrible products. If you are sensitive to products then do a patch test first to make sure you are not allergic. Happy Thanksgiving to you, Stephanie and good luck. Deborah
Good for Taylor for mentioning Angie @Hot&Flashy. Angie is my favorite TH-camr, not only because we are the same age but we have had the same lifestyle. I'm from Florida & I grew up on the beaches on the east coast & I cannot tell you how many sunburns I've had. Angie has helped me so much with my skin. I did not even know about, Timeless, The Ordinary, Curology or CeraVe. Angie is so in-depth in communicating to her audience about the science behind the serums & products that she uses, & the way she uses them. I have followed her example to the letter. I even asked my doctor at the VA Hospital for a prescription for Retin-A. I never would have thought that Retin-A AKA Tretinoin cream, could be used to turn back the hands of time. With Retin-A you need a doctor's prescription in the United States, but with curology you do not need a prescription & it has the exact same Retin-A only suspended in fluids that are tailored just for the user. Angie has a link on her channel for the first month for free and it's a monthly online service.❤❤❤
Can we just talk about how crazy your skin transformation has been! It’s no small thing. you had probably one of worst acne cases I’ve seen on TH-cam. And now here you are with your smooth cheeks and glowy skin, that’s amazing! I’m happy for you. Have you already done a video on the entire accutane journey? You seem to act like it’s no big deal lol, it kinda is!
That’s what I love about her! She made it seem like it was no big deal when she did have acne and now that she is acne free she’s the same. I think I see a little bit more confidence but not much of a difference. She’s great!
keepinitreal I sell unlimited use Neutrogena acne clearing masks and activators here!! rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F112608475230
keepinitreal Yes! She’s one of my favorites. She’s came so far not only with her skin but with her channel and subscriber following. She’s still the same person she used to be and her content just keeps getting better and better.
I recently purchased rosehip oil and mandelic acid! CHANGED MY SKIN and I couldn't be more happy. My skin is a huge insecurity of mine like many, and your one of the only youtubers I found that actually suggests products that work. Im not sure why or how but I do believe its because your skin isn't perfect and a majority of you tubers have perfect skin now a days! You struggle with your skin and you actually put time and effort into caring for it to try to make it better. Your skin has shown so much progress and it amazing to see it first hand. I appreciate every tip and trick you give your subscribers!
I would say im combination, usually if im wearing makeup my makeup/face gets oily throughout the day in my T zone but if im not wearing makeup Its more on the dry side especially during Winter! The biggest difference I noticed is my texture, my face has never been more smooth and I do deal with scaring and acne. Mandelic acid is also a life saver, I feel like it helps more so with scaring because it sorta peels off the top layer of the scar making it way less pigmented. Them combined is a great duo!
Dude!!! all the recommendations had purchased from other youtubers did not work at all everything i've purchased that Taylor has recommended has changed my skin and Mikey said, I believe it's because her skin's not completely perfect and mine is shit so it's crazy how everything g she recommends works!!!
I'm a CANS (certified aesthetic nurse specialist, RN) and I love CeraVe and La Roche-Posay! I recommend them to my clients on a daily basis. Your skin is looking beautiful, Taylor. I've been following you for 3-4 years now.
@gothamista @thataylaa Do either of you recommend rose hip oil for oily skin? My skin has finally cleared of acne and I’m so scared to try anything new! Halp 😊
@@GoddessSparkle21 i have normal to oily skin and rosehip oil left me feeling so greasy it was a bit too much for my skin lol. it didn't break me out i don't think but didn't really work either for my scarring. i've seen pretty good results with the ordinary's azelaic acid though and it's definitely more mattifying. if you're just wanting something as a moisturizer though idk. i've been using the first aid beauty ultra repair face moisturizer just bc it's very lightweight and good for sensitive skin.
I am almost 42 and after watching this video probably 3 times, lol. I started to use the Ordinary Rose Hip oil and oh my goodness. It has totally changed my skin. I don't have a lot of issues with acne but I do get a break out from time to time and this has majorly changed my skin. I use it everynight as I have very dry skin and I have been loving it for about 3 months. I was really shocked by how quickly it started to help the texture of my skin. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I don't hear enough people talking about this, but I trust your videos and opinions like the bible girl. So thank you for introducing e to this product. You're the best! This has also helped but down on the amount of product I need to use and has really helped under my eyes as well. Just letting anyone else out there know, that this one knows her shit.
Honestly this is the only video I care about. I’ve witnessed your transition with the similar texture and I can’t thank you. I’ve struggled and have had the worst self esteem. I would go to sleep with makeup on if I was with company. I appreciate you and what you’ve done. Thank you!
Thank you so much for posting this!!! side note, every video i’ve commented on i’ve received nothing but positive responses. You just inspire positively and kindness. I feel like we all make a small community of a support system. Everyone you’ve inspired and brought together makes such a difference in my life and hopefully so many others 💕💕 I used to feel so weird about leaving comments on videos because I feared being viewed as a creeper but it is nothing but friends! xxoxo
Karen Doppel same Karen!! I’ve only watched YT since the beginning of this year and always felt super awkward about posting. Idk what I thought would happen but I just didn’t know what I was “supposed” to be doing I guess 😂 but I’ve gotten so many helpful comments from subs here on Taylor’s channel, it’s really made this a super positive experience for me. Idk how other influencers’ channels are since I’m not subscribed to many, but here it’s just all positive all the time. Love it 🖤🌯🖤🌯
Don't you think about it after this comment! Taylor's subscribers are super supportive & I've always found a helpful tip piggybacking on hers, but always with positive notes.
Angie I got mine from amazon, it’s the Pure Majestic brand, it’s the one marked Amazon’s Choice!! I think next time I’ll try The Ordinary since that’s what Taylor loves, but I really love the one I got too!
I love how real you are..watching skincare routines for youtubers that have absolutely no issue perfect skin is just a waste of time for me. You are a real person who has been courageous in showing that real side and what you do to help others just by filming. I soooo appreciate that. THANK YOU. Your videos are amazing..keep them coming!
I have bad acne scars. I mixed some of the Oridinary Rose Hip oil into my Neutrogena hydro boost moisturizer and have used the whole jar of the mixture. I can see a,huge difference in the texture of my skin. Thanks for reccomending the Rose hip oil! It is such an incredible product at an awesome price!
Samantha Jennings I use this exact same combo and it’s been a dream ! I use the unscented Hydro Boost moisturizer with about 2-3 drops of the Rosehip Oil and it feels so good on my dry skin ! Works fantastic under makeup as well 💕🌸🌷
I hate the smell and i tend to use too much when applying it without mixing it so this worked perfectly for me! I use the hydro boost cleanser gel, scrub, and moisturizer all in the blue containers. Using these plus the rosehip oil has really changed my skin! Katherine, great minds think alike lol! Danielle, definitely give it a try! After application of the mixture my skin is so soft and not greasy at all! I can use it morning before makeup or at night!
@@divergent_one9715 good luck! I hope it works as well for u as it has me! Be patient. It took me using the whole jar of the mixture before i saw significant results! Also, i only put about two full droppers of the oil in with the whole jar. Seemed to be a good amount to keep the consistency of the gel moisturizer.
I get my Rosehip seed oil from the Vitamin shoppe, the brand is Life-Flo and it’s cold pressed/organic for any of you who want to try it. I loove it and it’s only 8$
Idk if you'll see this since it's an older video, but if your interested I'd LOVE an updated skincare routine. I'm struggling with dry acne prone skin and trying to fade acne scars as welll
You are the reason I tried Rosehip oil and OMG! I'm so happy I watched your video. My acne scars have lightened. My skin is glowing (especially in Canada's cold winter, lol), and it doesn't break me out! I also use Rosehip oil with Argan oil on the ends of my hair which makes my ends look smooth and hydrated. I've ordered Rosehip THREE TIMES off of Amazon since your recommendation! I also put a few drops In with my foundation for a more glowy, hydrated look. :D
Kayla Weigart Yes! I've noticed my scarring has lightened. I've been using rosehip oil at night as my moisturizer and I recommended parring it with a vitamin c serum afterward. I've been doing this for about 5+ months now. I feel the vitamin c and rosehip together has helped hydrate my face, lightened my scarring, and has improved my terrible texture. It also doesn't break me out at all. How long have you been using yours and when do you use it?
Amber Marie do you mind sharing what brand vitamin c you use? 😁 rosehip has made such a difference for me too. I sustained skin damage in a car fire, it is fading it.
Kayla Weigart My nightime skincare routine consists of removing makeup with the Garnier Micellar water to remove my makeup, then follow up with the Cerave hydrating cleaner (that tayla uses and recommended that I love!), then I use the rosehip oil off of Amazon from Leven Rose (they have great costumer service and if the product doesnt work for you they will refund you all your money), and then finish with a vitamin c serum from amazon as well from All Natural Advice.
You are my skincare SAVIOR!!! I went through the EXACT situation you did with your skin, and watching your videos has helped me discover which products to use, what to look for, etc. I had skin so oily that you could make plastics from it, went on Accutane, then had hella dry skin--but still had some acne. My derms had all but given up on me. I didn't know how to get rid of that remaining amount, nor how to treat my now-dry skin until I found your videos. Bless you!
Dr. Dray is a dermatologist on TH-cam I follow. She is really cool and educates about skincare ingredients. She advises Cerave and I think you would love her. She is a real cool chick like you and you are both extremely intelligent, practical, etc. just a suggestion. You look gorgeous!
Dr Dray is really great for skincare, but I do find her attitude toward supplements kind of problematic. She is very anti-additives in skincare, but uses and heavily promotes GOOP Beauty Dust and Four Sigmatic products, which are both very expensive and have even fewer documented beneficial effects than some of the products she eschews. Her advice is awesome, but that kind of stuff makes me question her a little more than I did previously.
You probably won’t see this but I love you. I really appreciate that you were a beauty TH-camr even when you had crazy acne like me. Your skin is so clear and beautiful and you were beautiful before but the difference is staggering. Your videos have been an amazing resource and I’m thankful that you address the side effects that the dermatologist looks over. I’m starting accutane next month and I’m so excited and thankful to have your videos for reference during my own journey! Thank you!
@@bjornolson21 only if used in extremely large amounts can it cause a problem. Every single dermatologist I have been too says the same exact thing, it's perfectly fine just don't put 10 different products with it in it on your face every day. It can dry your skin out faster than others when used in large quantities.
makeupfascination and I’m a chemist. Mineral oil is a byproduct of gasoline production and while it retains moisture and is inexpensive, it can be a skin irritant.
If there’s anyone I’m taking skin advice from on TH-cam, it’s you. Your skin has been thru a lot & it looks amazing!! I have problematic skin...I’m on BC for acne but sometimes my skin just looks awful in regards to texture and I have no idea how to minimize the scarring although I’ve spent so much money on skincare throughout the past 2 years 😒😒 I wish I felt confident going bare faced 😩 Also, for anyone who cares, since Taylor mentioned adapalene in her night routine, Differin (sold over the counter) is 0.1% adapalene.
Rosehip oil broke me out soooo bad and it was such a bummer because it was so moisturizing and felt so nice. I’m glad it works for you and others though!
Claire Young which one did u try? This brand? I’ve tried 4 and the other 3 broke me out too lol. This was first that just worked like it was supposed to. Hopefully the ones that didn’t work for you were different so u can try this one! Glglgl
Holy cow your skin looks amazing! I haven’t watched one of your videos since right before you started accutane and I couldn’t believe when you were taking your makeup off how great your skin looks. Wow, so happy for you😍
FRESH DUPE! I too was going to bite the bullet and repurchase the fresh cleansing oil cause I hadn't found anything quite as good. Right before I ran out of fresh I gave Palmers a random chance.. Girl.. Its the same. Gets off my waterproof makeup, doesn't leave a residue and doesn't break me out. Not repurchasing fresh as Palmers is $7 cad. PLUS it has rosehip oil in it 👍
Just want to say, watching your videos helps me so much when I’m feeling really anxious! I think it’s because you’re so real and chilled out which is such a nice change from so many other TH-camrs on here. I really love your videos. Thank you so much for making them! 💕
Bhumi Patel Best way to go about it is to try stuff out, Ulta will take anything back as long as you have the receipt. I bought a fancy moisturizer from that brand that has something to do with first aid, and it’s supposed to be good for sensitive skin, but it burned on my skin so, thanks Ulta for taking it back
I like to really dig into reviews of products I'm interested in and then try to find sample or trial size bottles on eBay or Ulta combined with a coupon, plus like previously mentioned Ulta will take it back!
I am so grateful to have found your channel! I have had extremely painful cystic acne since I was about 10, and wasn’t cured until a few months ago after I did two separate rounds of accutane, and being put on a dose of spironolactone. I used to watch other beauty gurus who give the (filtered) illusion of “perfect” skin and just cry because I knew my skin would never look like that. Thank you so much for being so real and honest with your skincare journey ❤️ you are such an inspiration!!
I have watched this video countless times. I am trying to lock down my skincare routine, and this has been IMMENSELY helpful. I tweaked a few things, and I am LOVING the results. Your skin is beautiful, and who wouldn't want that too?! Thank you!
You have one of the most relaxing channels. I love putting on your videos in the morning as I’m doing laundry or getting ready for work. Your voice is perfect for the early hours lol. Also your skin has come such a long way. Absolutely stunning.
It's also full of empty chemicals and cheap ones. You can find much better products for nearly a 10th of the price. Real dermatologist call the line a waste of money. Doesn't make anything worse but definitely isn't worth the price tag.
So, I ordered that rose hip oil after seeing this video. I finally got it in the mail last night. I put it on, went to bed and woke up looking so refreshed. I showered, put a tiny bit on, in addition with my normal skincare. Let that soak in, my moisturizer, and spf. Waited about 5 minutes and did my makeup. Saw my sister 30 minutes later and the first thing she said to me was your skin looks amazing! You have me hooked! I will be repurchasing the rose hip oil again! It makes such a huge difference.
Just a little tip from an esthetician - the nights when you use the oil and a moisturizer, put the moisturizer on first! Oil is a larger molecule, so if you put the moisture on after, it won’t even touch your skin at all. Your skin looks amazing! 😍 And Elta MD SPFs are my ultimate favs! I recommend them to all my patients! 😊
Tay Galbraith Can you help me with this? There's so much contradictory information about the way to layer skincare. At night, I use the Timeless Coenzyme Q10 + Matrixyl 3000 + Hylauronic Acid Serum, then the Timeless 20% Vitamin C + Ferulic Acid + Vitamin E, topped off with Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel and Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb. Is that a good order? Is the vitamin E considered an oil? If I added an oil, where would it go? Thank you for your help.
GretchenVaughn Sure! What I always recommend is: 1. Cleanse 2. Treat (Serum and eye cream) 3. Hydrate and Protect (moisturizer and SPF). Since you have two different serums, I like to have people use one AM and one PM. Since Vitamin C is a preventative for environmental damage, I like to recommend that in the AM under a moisturizer and SPF. Unless it says Vitamin E *oil*, it’s most likely just an ingredient for hydration. If you were to add an oil, it would be last. So to make it simple, this is how I would see your regimen: AM - Cleanse, eye cream, vitamin c and e serum, moisturizer and SPF. PM - Cleanse, eye cream, hyaluronic acid serum, moisturizer, then oil if you add one. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions!
Tay Galbraith Thanks! I had no idea the Vitamin E wasn't an oil. The Timeless website does say: "Not recommended for oily skin since it contains vitamin E." Ingredients: Water, Ethoxydiglycol, L-Ascorbic Acid, Propylene Glycol, Alpha Tocopherol, Polysorbate 80, Panthenol, Ferulic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Benzylalcohol, Dehydroacetic Acid. I use Farmacy Green Screen for both moisturizer and SPF. I have combination skin so I was concerned it would be too much oil with the Vit C serum. But I will try it now! Thank you for your help!
Have you ever tried Korean sunscreens? I love the Missha Waterproof Sun Milk Essence. It’s so blend-able. I swear it prolongs my foundation, and it’s pretty dewy w/o the greasy feel. Gothamista (Renee) is my go-to for skincare recommendations! I’ve tried a bunch hyaluronic acid serums but nothing comes close to Hada Labo Gokujuyun lotion. I apply a nickel size amount while my face is still damp with toner and it does an amazing job of pulling all that hydration into my skin. I’m a little more high maintenance, so I add another essence, a light weight moisturizer, then rose-hip seed or squalene oil to seal it all in! Have you tried The Ordinary’s squalene oil? It’s so light weight and it softens just as well as rose oil, but it’s odorless, colorless and absorbs incredibly fast. I’m so happy for you btw, your skin looks amazing!! Thanks for always being 100% real with your audience and sharing your journey 😊
Karlie Krinock totally agree with you. Renèe is super knowledgeable when it comes to skin care. I will try the Korean sunscreen. I love Hada Labo and the origin. Drunk elephant I’m not crazy about.
Your skin care videos have been a huge help for me while I’ve been on roaccutane. The rose-hip oil has been my holy grail for making my skin feel so soft, thank you soo much for posting these videos x
I really enjoyed this video! Instead of you holding up products and telling us your opinion, we actually get to see how you use them and your experience with different things. I really love this!
I recommend adding an Essence right after you wash your face. I like the Origins Fermented Essence. And when using the HadaLabo put on skin while it’s slightly damp to have the hyaluronic acid draw moisture from that rather than your skin. Some people don’t know that hyaluronic acid can make your skin drier if not used correctly.
Artist N Soul Good point. I sleep with a humidifier on to help the hyaluronic acid pull moisture from the air and not my skin. I live in Colorado and man, is it dry!
I just started a new job and it is a little bit stressful, so having little things like your videos to look forward to at the ends of my shifts really does make a difference. So thank you, keep doing what you're doing!❤
Normally when people do skincare videos they just say what they use, do a little demo and then that’s it. I love how you explain, and take your time and it’s on the lengthier side which I personally love. Thank you for this video ❤️❤️❤️
If you haven't discovered him yet, check out videos from Dr. Davin Lim, a dermatologist from Australia. He has tons of great videos and breaks down info in a way that's easy to understand, like why you don't need a dedicated eye cream. Your skin is gorgeous; I'm glad you've found what works for you!
Janet Nguyen I use to watch dr dray a lot and followed a lot of her advice but I’ve noticed not everything she’s right on about. Especially using head and shoulders for dandruff... that’s like the worst thing ever for dandruff and can actually cause it. (I’m a hairdresser I know this to be a fact) I actually used a few eye creams that I’ve seen a noticeable difference pretty quickly! So she might be right about most of the things she recommends and talks about... but I guess you just need to use your own judgment.
Barbi Love I did learn about ingredients from her channel for sure. But she seems to contradict herself at times. Dr dray is always ranting about fragrance (which I try not to use fragrance now considering it dries out your skin) but having said that, she’s always recommending neutrogena oil free acne wash. I normally use cera ve cleansers and lotions. I LOVE them. I ran out one time and the store I was at only had the oil free acne wash. I looked up the ingredients just to check and was shocked when I saw FRAGRANCE!!! This wasn’t the off brand either. It was the exact product she’s always hyping. I don’t know if they changed the ingredients lately or what but obviously I decided to pass up on it. I love the confidence in an eye cream bc it goes on so smooth and makes my under eyes feel super smooth. I also noticed a HUGE difference in my fine lines and under eye area after using Clinique repairwear laser focus serum. You can almost feel it working immediately. I had dramatic results! I look up a bunch of trustworthy dermatologists channels and just basically compare everything they each say. Whatever is repeated, I assume works the best!
I just rewatched this video today, almost 2 years after you posted it. I also was on accutane, and finished about 6 months after you did. I followed your journey to help me get through mine! Thank you again for sharing. Anyway, 2 years later, i've started breaking out again, but not nearly as badly, and watched this video remembering how gentle we had to be to our skin during, and right after accutane. This video was a great reminder of the benefits of a gentle and basic skin care routine- something I think have definitely moved away from. Excited to try going back to some of these products again to see if it helps with the breakouts! Take care, Taylor -Amanda
I've used both the olehenriksen truth serum and recently switched to the Drunk Elephant one. I will say the Truth Serum left my skin more moisturized than the drunk elephant one. However I feel like the drunk elephant one helps with my pores and oily skin more. So perhaps if you have dry skin you may prefer the truth serum more.
Okay in all honesty haven’t watched a video of yours in a while as I’ve been on a murder mystery binge and makeup has taken a back bench, but girl your skin looks AMAZING. This must have taken so much dedication on your part bloody well done hunny
Been trying the Rose hip oil for a month now, and I'm really happy I bought it. Can already see a difference in my skin. Thanks a lot for your recommendation! When it comes to face creams with SPF and a glowy finish, I like the Neutrogena Hydro Boost City shield SPF 25 lotion. Of course there's mixed reviews and it's not as high in SPF as yours, but to me it gives a beautiful glow (not looking oily at all), great moisture, and can work as a glowy "primer" underneath my foundation. Even if I have a day where I don't want to wear makeup, the glow stays in a while. The only thing that could concern me, was if it was enough moisture for your skin if you use it alone. - I'm always enjoying watching your videos. You're doing great!
I have that ! it's amazing and I always get compliments but it gave me some pimples , not sure if it was due to that but I'll try it out again because it really is amazing but for now I'm using neutrogen hydro boost gel cream and water gel and rosehip oil which is 😍😍
Megs baby glad to hear I’m not the only one who likes it👏🏼 but sad to hear it gave you pimples. I’ve been considering to try the Hydro boost gel cream. Not that the other one is bad or makes my skin break out (I really like it). Does the gel gives the same finish and moisture?😊
Thank you for sharing your routine. I’m always hoping to find products to help my post-acne, red, and textured skin. Your skin looks GORGEOUS! Just have to say you’re the only TH-camr whose videos I actually feel inspired to comment on. Thanks for all you do and for sharing your wisdom!!! ❤️
You can tell that I am already on vacation mode for Thanksgiving. When is saw this upload, I thought " wait, no foundation Friday? Weird" hahah, calm down it's only Monday, you have a whole week still ahead of you.
Ordering the Rose hip oil TONIGHT because of your recommendation. I keep making excuses but your skin seriously looks amazing and I’m so happy for you 💕
I've been on retinol from my dermatologist, now for like 4 years. And let me tell ya, not a wrinkle in sight and no fine lines. I use .025% because if I go any higher I've been prone to burning. I have permanent burns all over my face. But yaaaalllll retinol is sooooooo good. It's a great exfoliant, it promotes cell rotation and all that good shit.
I am living for your skin right now! I can imagine that feels sooooo good to have your face looking like that after what you’ve been through. I start my Accutane journey tomorrow and if it works on me anything like it has on you I will be a very happy woman! Thank you for this video.
Guuuuurl! Try mixing your rosehip oil into the protini! It delivers the oil deeper into your skin and that way the oil won't block all the peptides 😍 so glad to see your skins doing so well! Also check out the hada lobo cleansing oil! No residue and no burning! Feels like a dream ♥️
@@taylorwynn also your vitamin c looks like it has oxidized, that's why it's so dark orange. It should be a lot lighter. gothamista did a video on it if you want to check it out. It can be harmful to your skin to use when it's oxidized! I love you girl! It's like Christmas whenever you post a video ♥️
Just purchased Drunk Elephant products last week because you started mentioning them, very good stuff! Thank you for this review Taylor, you’re awesome ♥️
Try out the Cosrx Aloe sunscreen! It is great under make up, has no alcohol, is moisturising / glowy but not greasy and it doesn‘t feel heavy on the skin. I love it and I have suuuuper sensitive skin! Plus it‘s like $12 on YesStyle 😁
@@anneteti2866 I know! Personally I'm not allergic to fragrance that is just labeled as perfume / fragrance. If you are really sensitive, maybe try the Canmake Mermaid SPF. It's really lightweight, like a gel. No alcohol, not greasy and fragrance free!
I truly do admire you for being so open about your acne journey. It's something that's so hard to talk about and share. I've had struggles with it before. Love your channel😘
Dr Dray on TH-cam is a dermatologist and she talks about soo much details on products if you like that stuff and she says the alcohol has a bad rep but she explains why she doesn’t care about it usually. Like cetyl alcohol I specifically remember
Yessss cerave is the very first facial cleanser I’ve tried that doesn’t make my skin tight or dry and I’ve actually seen improvement in my skin!!! Looooovvveee ittt!!!!
I love hada labo! There is a premium version of "lotion" as well that is thicker and had multiple sizes of hyaluronic acid in it. It's a little stickier but I love it!
Same! It almost single-handedly fixed my flaking skin that was made worse by a genetic condition I've had. Hada Labo Gokujyun and the premium version have been a staple in my routine for five years now after stumbling into reddit AsianBeauty back in college.
Ive been using rose hip oil for about 2 months and it has made a huge difference!! My forehead, especially, is much smoother, the acne scarring around my jaw line is almost gone and even the redness around my nose and chin is starting to lighten. Great recommendation!! My daughter, who is 1, and i love watching your videos!
First, I love this video. Second I bought some of the things you mentioned bc my skin is hella dry (trying to rebuild my moisture barrier) and I just have an issue with texture. Anyways, my skin has never felt softer or more plump than after I applied the rose hip seed oil.. I had to put on 3 layers because my skin literally DRANK it and it was dry to the touch but I woke up and was like WOW. Then after showering I put on the $35 sunscreen and.. I just can't imagine what your skin looks like in person with just that on. My skin feels velvety and looks so beautiful just like glowing. Honestly just... thank you for posting this video. Your skin has seriously transformed since I first saw you pre accutane, and this video has seriously helped me. You're a real #baerrito
The ordinary rose hip oil broke me out :/ But as far as eye creams go I’ve been using the derma-e advanced peptides and collagen eye cream and I really like it so far
I'm so happy for you. I was on Accutane my first semester of college and it was such an exhausting process, but SO worth it! Your skin looks amazing, you're glowing!!!!
I've been using rose hip seed oil for just a few days and it's like magic. I never would have bought it if you hadn't recommended it and I'm so glad that you did! It makes my skin feel soooooo good. I want to fill up a tub and bathe in this stuff. It's made my really, really dry skin feel so smooth and soft and I'm breaking out less, healing faster, and it's just amazing. THANK YOU so much for talking about this oil!
Jodi K this is the one I use as we don’t have cerave in Australia and it doesn’t have the parabens like cerave. It’s so good. I got it on a trip to France and didn’t expect to love it. So glad it’s stocked here in Aus!
I LOVE the Hada Lobo! I also recommend the CosRx Snail Mucin Essence! It does wonders for healing after acne. If I were to recommend a second CosRx product it would be the galactomyces “power” essence.
I usually mix Hada Labo Hyaluronic Lotion with The Ordinary Rose Hip Oil at night and it feels amazing!!! Rose Hip Oil is so so good itself, but mixed with Hada Labo is even better. Try do this and you won't regret I promise))))
Make sure to use it on a small area of ur face at first. I used it all over my face and I got HORRIBLE acne overnight. Clogged my skin like crazy. I use hemp oil now. Works perfectly and it's completely non comedogenic. Helps my acne prone skin sooo much. I just make sure to dap off the excess with a tissue and my face doesnt look oily at all. Smooth and hydrated
I LIVE for skin care routines/updates from you! You are so thorough with your thoughts on different products, and I just appreciate it so much. Sending you love across the Pacific from Hawai'i!
Samantha Lowe it’s very strong and on the bottle I believe it says they recommend to wait two weeks in between uses. Not to exceed 10 min with it on and to use a sunscreen after use and really I learned this the hard way def reapply every 2-3 hours for the first week after at least. Best to avoid the sun altogether if possible while your skin is healing. Possibly can peel a bit too
Yeah, Katie is right. I only use it a few times a month. It is very strong. It tends to burn a little when first applied, but it calms after a minute. I leave it on for normally 20 minutes and never had any issues. My skin is so smooth after using this!
Just curious if you've tried having a podcast or radio on low in a different room (to help with, what seems, Love's separation anxiety whining). No shade, just trying to help a fellow animal fan. Hugs from Canada 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦. Had to add that I love that Cerave cleanser too. I use the foaming in summer and hydrating in winter time.
Love her! I've watched other Dermatologists, but I like her the best. She has a better teaching style, and I've learned a lot from her recommendations and info.
Deborah
oh I adore Renee/Gothamista! Her voice and demeanor is so calming and she is SO incredibly knowledgeable about skincare!
4. Blythe Vital Treatment Essence for Hydration
Masks: I like Drunk Elephant Sukari Baby Facial
Dior Rose Mask
Boscia Charcoal mask
I am currently trying out the Kate Somerville Sunscreen and liking it a lot.
You seem to act like it’s no big deal lol, it kinda is!
haha thanks! I have a whole playlist documenting my experience on Accutane!
That’s what I love about her! She made it seem like it was no big deal when she did have acne and now that she is acne free she’s the same. I think I see a little bit more confidence but not much of a difference. She’s great!
keepinitreal I sell unlimited use Neutrogena acne clearing masks and activators here!!

keepinitreal Yes! She’s one of my favorites. She’s came so far not only with her skin but with her channel and subscriber following. She’s still the same person she used to be and her content just keeps getting better and better.
Taylor Wynn what helped with indented acne scars
I recently purchased rosehip oil and mandelic acid! CHANGED MY SKIN and I couldn't be more happy. My skin is a huge insecurity of mine like many, and your one of the only youtubers I found that actually suggests products that work. Im not sure why or how but I do believe its because your skin isn't perfect and a majority of you tubers have perfect skin now a days! You struggle with your skin and you actually put time and effort into caring for it to try to make it better. Your skin has shown so much progress and it amazing to see it first hand. I appreciate every tip and trick you give your subscribers!
May I ask what type of skin do you have?
Yes I would like to know what kind of skin you have!
I just got my rose hip oil today!!
Loved every second of this video and your routine! Your skin looks so glowy and fabulous - glassy forehead for days!! 😘💗
Gothamista just got done watching a whole playlist of your videos 🤗
@gothamista @thataylaa Do either of you recommend rose hip oil for oily skin? My skin has finally cleared of acne and I’m so scared to try anything new! Halp 😊
KikiCray don’t use straight up pure undiluted oils, rather a good moisturizer with some lightweight oil content.
Glass skin ftw, amirite?
Pause, and take a minute and look how BEAUTIFUL her skin is!!!
Everyone you’ve inspired and brought together makes such a difference in my life and hopefully so many others 💕💕 I used to feel so weird about leaving comments on videos because I feared being viewed as a creeper but it is nothing but friends! xxoxo
This comment made my night. 💕💕 So happy you feel comfortable commenting :)
Love it 🖤🌯🖤🌯
Karen Doppel I completely agree!!! Taylor is my favorite & her community is lovely like her!!!
💕💕💕
Don't you think about it after this comment! Taylor's subscribers are super supportive & I've always found a helpful tip piggybacking on hers, but always with positive notes.
Thank god that The Ordinary is so affordable because I just loaded up my cart! Thank you for sharing your routines!
It is so crazy to see your skin now compared to a year ago!! Seriously amazing!! Looks so good!
I love that you foster animals! Thank you for using your platform and showing how awesome the sweet shelter babies are! ❤️
I added rosehip oil last month because of your recommendation and it has changed my whole life!!! I can’t believe the difference in texture!!!
FamBamTV which brand?
Angie I got mine from amazon, it’s the Pure Majestic brand, it’s the one marked Amazon’s Choice!! I think next time I’ll try The Ordinary since that’s what Taylor loves, but I really love the one I got too!
My favorite is Mario badescu. Ulta often has this brand on sale
saame here!!
I chose Teddie Organics. It’s also done wonders for my cuticles!
Samantha Jennings that’s a great idea!! Combining the two steps would really help cut down on time at night, I’m gunna try it! Tyty!
Samantha Jennings I took a screenshot of your comment lol! Thanks for letting us know, I definitely need to try your method ❤️👍🏻👍🏻
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don’t ever sell out and keep giving honest reviews!
I get my Rosehip seed oil from the Vitamin shoppe, the brand is Life-Flo and it’s cold pressed/organic for any of you who want to try it. I loove it and it’s only 8$
Emma Mills I got mine from there too but it broke me out like crazy and made my face red but I tried the ordinary one and it worked for me
Succ Cxopp everyones skin is so different it’s hard to tell, just a another suggestion for those not finding the ordinary one 😄
I bought the vitamin shoppe one and love it! I think it works for me
Idk if you'll see this since it's an older video, but if your interested I'd LOVE an updated skincare routine.
Amber Marie you think the rose hip oil has really helped? I have acne scarring/pittingand I hate it
Kayla Weigart Yes!
Amber Marie do u have any specific brand you use? I’m horrible and haven’t done a skincare routine and I need to!!
I love that you actually test these products and don't just recommend products that don't do anything!
Your skin has been looking fabulous!
Oh awesome I'll check her out, thanks!!
I love dr dray
Yes!!!! So informative! I love when she goes through shelves at stores!
Nancy Newman she’s the best!
You’re the ONLY TH-camr who’s commercials I never skip. All the support for you!
I started using rosehip oil the last couple weeks and man my redness and texture really has calmed down quite a bit! Thanks so much!
Thank you!
Not all alcohols are bad. Mineral oil isn’t bad. Follow Dr. Dray. She’s a dermatologist. Learned a lot from her about ingredients
but the one in the sunscreen is denatured alcohol which is one of the drying alcohols thats bad for your skin
Love dr. Dray!
Mineral oil is a byproduct of gasoline production and while it retains moisture and is inexpensive, it can be a skin irritant.
makeupfascination mineral oil isn’t even an alcohol lol
If there’s anyone I’m taking skin advice from on TH-cam, it’s you. Your skin has been thru a lot & it looks amazing!! I have problematic skin...I’m on BC for acne but sometimes my skin just looks awful in regards to texture and I have no idea how to minimize the scarring although I’ve spent so much money on skincare throughout the past 2 years 😒😒 I wish I felt confident going bare faced 😩
Also, for anyone who cares, since Taylor mentioned adapalene in her night routine, Differin (sold over the counter) is 0.1% adapalene.
Rosehip oil broke me out soooo bad and it was such a bummer because it was so moisturizing and felt so nice. I’m glad it works for you and others though!
Same. It broke me out real bad overnight.Made my skin so vibrant tho. Such a shame :(
Claire Young which one did u try? This brand? I’ve tried 4 and the other 3 broke me out too lol. This was first that just worked like it was supposed to. Hopefully the ones that didn’t work for you were different so u can try this one! Glglgl
The rosehip oil works well for me, but the ceraVe cleanser she mentions breaks me out horribly!
Same here, I got the Ordinary brand one and broke out horribly 😔
Rosehip can cause breakouts on acne prone skin. Also try using a rosehip oil that just contains rosehip oil, no other ingredients.
PLUS it has rosehip oil in it 👍
Kayla Farnsworth palmers?
@@chelseazaydaraensehon1198 Palmers cocoa butter skin therapy cleansing oil. Found in the drugstore.
Just want to say, watching your videos helps me so much when I’m feeling really anxious! I think it’s because you’re so real and chilled out which is such a nice change from so many other TH-camrs on here. I really love your videos. Thank you so much for making them! 💕
Skin care is so hard for me because I don’t wanna blow all my money on products that won’t work on me
Bhumi Patel Best way to go about it is to try stuff out, Ulta will take anything back as long as you have the receipt. I bought a fancy moisturizer from that brand that has something to do with first aid, and it’s supposed to be good for sensitive skin, but it burned on my skin so, thanks Ulta for taking it back
Look at Beautypedia's recommandations.
I like to really dig into reviews of products I'm interested in and then try to find sample or trial size bottles on eBay or Ulta combined with a coupon, plus like previously mentioned Ulta will take it back!
Stick to basics! The cerave facewash she used has changed my skin so much.
@@SheWhoWalksSilently this is where getting stuff online helps 😳 email / app receipts 😁
Luv is so adorable! ❤ My dog just jumped on me super concerned about her whining though. Lol
I have watched this video countless times. I am trying to lock down my skincare routine, and this has been IMMENSELY helpful. I tweaked a few things, and I am LOVING the results.
Your skin is beautiful, and who wouldn't want that too?! Thank you!
Laying in the tub, face masking it up and being a wineo. Super excited to watch your video. Love you Tay 💖
You have one of the most relaxing channels. I love putting on your videos in the morning as I’m doing laundry or getting ready for work. Your voice is perfect for the early hours lol. Also your skin has come such a long way. Absolutely stunning.
is anyone else screaming at how expensive drunk elephant products are??? I knew they were expensive but 90??? RIP
Jenna Hoover ridiculous! Many products and brands out there that are much cheaper and much more effective.
It's also full of empty chemicals and cheap ones. You can find much better products for nearly a 10th of the price. Real dermatologist call the line a waste of money. Doesn't make anything worse but definitely isn't worth the price tag.
Try using Derma.e products.
Drunk elephant moisturizers work so well for me but it is 65$ a bottle :(
And for 30ml at that! Uhhh no thanks.
So to make it simple, this is how I would see your regimen:
AM - Cleanse, eye cream, vitamin c and e serum, moisturizer and SPF.
PM - Cleanse, eye cream, hyaluronic acid serum, moisturizer, then oil if you add one.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions!
was just about to comment this!
@@chickatay Hi, may I ask you a question? Should oil go before butter, or butter before oil? I use rosehip oil and shea butter
Tay Galbraith Thanks! I had no idea the Vitamin E wasn't an oil. The Timeless website does say: "Not recommended for oily skin since it contains vitamin E."
Ingredients: Water, Ethoxydiglycol, L-Ascorbic Acid, Propylene Glycol, Alpha Tocopherol, Polysorbate 80, Panthenol, Ferulic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Benzylalcohol, Dehydroacetic Acid.
I use Farmacy Green Screen for both moisturizer and SPF. I have combination skin so I was concerned it would be too much oil with the Vit C serum. But I will try it now! Thank you for your help!
You and Angie are the only you tubers I watch and trust before I purchase anything lol so crazy that you love her too.
Taylor’s baby voice when talking to Luv is literally the cutest thing ever😍😂
That's what I thought too lol Her voice is adorable
Your baby voice with Luv is honestly so precious🥰 also thank you for giving alternatives to drunk elephant, my bank account appreciates it!
I was going to comment about Dr. Dray teaching me that eye creams are unnecessary. Just need a good moisturizer!
So many say that, like Dr dray & Dr Sam Bunting & Paula's Choice. But I like her eye creams & eye gel. And cerave
@@southernladyish she is correct re zinc pyrithione
Fragrance in H&S can bother people. She recommends other brands
I cannot believe how AMAZING your skin is now! Holy hell does Accutane work. Mind blowing. You look gorgeous!
I never comment on videos but u saying sabah el khair is like the best thing to start my day today felt for once included as an Arab ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Also try the cetaphil sunscreen I use it when am not using my bb cream or under my powder foundations they have ones for different skin types
Take care, Taylor

You have no lines but u have permanent burns? What?!
Ohhhh trying that!
I LOVE it too! Ugh I tried some other crap the other day I was traveling and my eyes felt like they were on fire!

Its a chemical sunscreen can be irritating to very sensitive skin.
It has fragrance though 😭😭
@@anneteti2866 I know! Personally I'm not allergic to fragrance that is just labeled as perfume / fragrance. If you are really sensitive, maybe try the Canmake Mermaid SPF. It's really lightweight, like a gel. No alcohol, not greasy and fragrance free!
Yeah my skin is super sensitive 🙁 but I’ll definitely check that out!! Thank you l!
I haven't seen your videos in a few months and you literally look so much different with clear skin
I always advise putting creams under oils, as water cannot penetrate oil . Oils should always be your last step to seal every thing in. Xxx
I love how high pitched your voice goes when you talk to doggo, all we get to hear is your usual professional sounding voice, hehee

Letty Brown Angie is great!!!
“Simple” micellar water is VERY gentle and from the drugstore. I use it to remove my eye makeup all the time so you should try it 😊😊😊😊
Micellar water can leave a residue on your skin-I like the plane Jane toners :)
I'm so happy for you. I was on Accutane my first semester of college and it was such an exhausting process, but SO worth it! Your skin looks amazing, you're glowing!!!!
Try the cerave eye cream! Literally the only one that doesn’t kill my eyes!!!!
The LaRoche Posay Toleraine Hydrating Cleanser replaced the Cerave for me. Dare I say I love it way more?!
Jodi K this is the one I use as we don’t have cerave in Australia and it doesn’t have the parabens like cerave. It’s so good. I got it on a trip to France and didn’t expect to love it. So glad it’s stocked here in Aus!

Thank you so much for a video focused on dry skin! So many videos out there for oily skin. ❤️
I have dry skin and literally every oil I have tried breaks me out. Def will be buying the Rosehip. It's one of the few I haven't tried
Agreed, it breaks me out, too.
Rosehip oil broke me out horribly. Bummer.
Corinne Morris when you do get it make sure it’s organic and cold pressed! I absolutely loooove using it
It's highly comedogenic...I would encourage you not to...try goji seed oil or cacay oil instead. These oils are not comedogenic
I LIVE for skin care routines/updates from you! You are so thorough with your thoughts on different products, and I just appreciate it so much. Sending you love across the Pacific from Hawai'i!
I love the Oridinary aha bha peeling solution! I need to reorder it! It makes my skin so soft!
Samantha Jennings I love it too! It has dramatically changed my skin texture and reduced my scarring a lot!
How often do you use this? Everyday?
Loved your Accutane journey! You have always been beautiful but you just glow now!! I guess even makeup is more fun now too!
