Thanks for the idea of turning the tool around, reversing the lathe and doing the light cuts. Just used a slight variation of this and got a nice 45 deg chamfer!
Seeing this 8 yrs after it was posted, great video. The tool you use to mark the part with the dye on it. Are those spring calipers? Where can I find some of those exactly like yours? Thanks👍🏽
My god your awesome I never knew what that was for I have been making custom parts 5 so far got three more to go I was cutting my I'd to size then doing a 45 from both I'd to both od basically like a v with a flat in the middle on rod stock I was making my 45 by angling my carbide at a 45 trying to get a rough shape started and going to the I'd and jog over a quarter turn out a quarter turn till I got to I'd size then a lot of sanding u just saved me a lot of time! Thank you
