I am a 70 year old lady and shot par the other day a 71 at my course. What you are showing is exactly what I do to drive the ball far. It took me years to realize that I need more weight starting out on my forward leg and that has made all the difference. Hope everyone has a beautiful day!!!! I am headed out to golf....
@@janetbarnett1986 congrats! Hope we are helping you enjoy this great game. 👊
Look like No Norman swing.I'm 79 and can hit it 286 - 290.
I am 83
Play 4 to 5 times a week
I'm 71. When I was 39, I broke my neck and lumbar spine. The Doctors put metal rods in my spine. They told me I was lucky to be able to walk although I was particularly paralyzed on my left side. When I turned 63 my wife bought me a set of golf clubs. I've been playing golf for about 7 years now and I hang on your every word. Thanks Todd and Nick. P.S. my Dr. can't believe it.
So cool Randy, keep at it!
And you are the one that hits the golf ball 320..?
I started playing golf when I was 65 now I’m 86 when I started, I could hit the ball 250 to 270 I Now use a 48 inch shaft senior and I can get the ball up about 200 220 yards. I don’t care I love it. I play golf in winter in Florida and then the summer in Port Jervis New York best of both worlds.
I am 63 and I am coming off a 12 year hiatus from playing golf due to 6 major surgeries. I find your golf advice to be very helpful. Thank you
Great to hear. We have other great content on our website at usgolftv.com
i started golfing at age 147 and i'm now 12. i'm hitting it further every day, and right down the middle like a laser beam!
57 years old from Nova Scotia Canada will definitely try these tip. Thanks again ⛳️
Hi Todd, great information. I am a 64 male from North Carolina who started playing golf in June of 2023. I still have not broken 100 but I see it on the horizon. Thanks for the time you put in on your videos, they are helpful for us newbies.
Hi, I’m just south of 78 years old. I enjoy watching your videos, excellent tips for ‘the experienced golfer’. I’ve just gotten serious about the game in the last year, I’m hooked and really appreciate your methods to improve my game!
Thanks, total team effort on our side. Have you read our book THE BAD LIE which can be found on Amazon.
I’m 77 and have lost a ton of distance in the last few years. I’m going to try your tips and hopefully get some distance back. Thanks
I am 74 from Montreal Canada your lesson is great I must master your suggested drive movement
I have difficulties exceeding 190 yards ….
I am 59 but have a bad leg injury and I have to say your lessons have helped me tremendously. I am from Marchand Manitoba Canada. Love your videos.
I am with Todd on this. Like you I have an issue with my left leg which is the most important side for the vertical movement. After a lot of research as well as diagnostic tests, I am looking forward to hip replacement and getting my vertical force back.
It been my observation that as my friends get older their driver trajectories gets lower. I don’t think this is something that has to happen. It’s just a habit. I definitely will be following Todd’s advice once I get my new hip 🤗.
I’m 72 and really appreciate this video… thanks!
73.6 years. For true, I hit a 310 yd drive three weeks ago with my new TM Q10 driver. Longest drive ever for me. What was different? The almost 40 MPH tailwind that wouldn’t let the well hit ball down. LOL. I wasn’t thinking of hitting a drive that far. Never have. But even for us old guys things can come together yet and make us smile at what we can do. Thanks for the lesson.
😂
Mark, from Chesterfield, MO. I am 70 and have been playing consistently in the 80’s and driving the ball better. Thanks for all the tips and the video lessons.
We got you covered. Are you following the Vertical Line Swing system?
46 the old from Rocklin, CA here. 321 yrds at any age is super impressive!
My wife, son and I are beginners and we found your video very helpful. Thanks for posting! 💥
At aged 72 it’s not impressive, it’s a downright lie, period!
I golf with a lot of older guys, and I always listen to what they have to say. They might not hit the ball far, but their course management is amazing.
Love this video and all your assistance. It has improved my golf. I am an Australian Air Force veteran with lower back and right shoulder issues. Keep up the great work!🇦🇺🇺🇲✔️
i’m 68 playing of 5.8 / got injured, a chiropractic doctor made it worse for me / struggled with sciatica and an unstable SI joint for a year / couldn’t walk but kept playing golf / had to change my swing / i’m now doing your third option (plus off course strength training to rebuild my core stability and muscles around my joints) / still searching for more club head speed / yesterday I started to focus on bringing my hands way above my shoulder in the back swing --> that added 30 yards !!! thought it was a coincidence a good day but i went to play again to see if it worked again and yes! I’m basically almost back at my old club distances / it’s amazing what you can do by creating more momentum / effortless power and -in my case- most importantly a pain free movement (can’t do the jumping swing anymore, tightens the gluts and pinches the sciatic nerve too much)
I would love it if you did a comparison of the vertical line swing vs. stack & tilt vs. single plane and explain why VLS is the way to go. Also please bring AJ on a future video to show us his 300+ yard swing.
I am 74 years old and just getting back to playing golf. I am looking for a routine to work on my driver so this video is just Right for me thank you.
Basic physics for the golf swing. Seventy-eight and still wanting to hit it further. Thanks for the lesson.

65, Muscle Shoals AL. Was off for 31 years with back problems, until January of 2023. Started back then had trigger finger surgeries on four fingers. Still have been able to drive the ball 270 yards. Need to develop more consistency, but I’m patient and really appreciate your tutorials/lessons.
I witnessed my 73 year old grandfather hit a 308 yard drive during an actual round. One of the most unbelievable things I’ve ever seen
I’m 76, from Willowbrook, Illinois. I’ve learned a lot and enjoy your lessons.
I have, and have read, your book, The Bad Lie. Thank you!
Transitioning and starting the downswing correctly and consistently is an area I am working on.
Any help greatly appreciated.
I'm 67, HI 8. I do the opposite. Load the trail leg heavily in the setup with a slight lean backwards and keep it relatively rigid. You do the backswing and there's nowhere to go but forward just prior to the downswing.
Well done. I am 55 and hit a good drive about 250-260. My club head usually around 102.
Hi I’m 65. Thank you for the great tips.
Hello, I am 58 and crom Chile, south America. Great tips, will definitively practice them.
Erm well as strange as it may seem, I am 71 also and I have been playing this great game since I was eight thanks to my father and I still manage to drive a golf ball with a average of 285, now with your tips I will see what I can hit at the weekend, so thank you for them
Let's go, good for you. Have you seen our other products on www.vlsgolf.com
I’m 71 playing off 20 and will be trying out what you have shown in your video in two days time on my local course South Herefordshire in the Uk.
I am from Saginaw Mi I am 65 from last year to this year I have lost distance on all clubs. I like the last move you showed I will work on it. Thanks
Great video. I'm 48 and have a 7 handicap at my course. I went from driving around 260 to barely making it off the blocks. I seem to be topping or coming down on the ball. Driving range good..course bad. It's agrevating. I will try these tips.
You got this, the Vertical Line Swing is changing the game for so many golfers...

I am an athletic 73 yeas old and can only hit the ball a little over 200 yards. This is very disappointing. I will give this a try and see if it will help. I'm encouraged.
I'm 74 and am just returning to the game after over 15 years due to work and later some physical difficulties. I used to hit long drives, but I'm having a hard time getting rotation and building swing speed. I'm sure that just getting out there and doing it will help me to improve, but I need to do these things in the proper direction. I am finding that your advice should really help me.

Great to find your channel, I'm 64 and from the UK , have lost about 40 yds in the last 18 months. Not sure if a back injury is a factor in this but trying to hit the ball out of the park and poor strikes is definitely not working. The Martini tee changed my driver life. Do you use those?
80 yrs old😎👍
Playing from the senior tees theres no need for 300 yd.drives. I'm 68 and max out at about 250 and as most amateurs pretty inconsistent of the tee with my driver. Most of the time I opt for a 5 or 6 iron on the 325 par 4s and par or birdie pretty regularly. So see theres really no need for huge tee shot distances in older age.

@@marknorris1717 welcome! Canada is producing some great golfers right now.
I will second what Todd. is saying, especially concerning golfer 60 and older. I play with a lot of older players who have a ball flight that is half the trajectory of a normal thirty year old’s. I don’t necessarily think it has to do with age but with fear. They have learned over time that a low flighted ball seems to stay on line longer. Without thinking about it, they think they have to hit out and not up to get their maximum distance. This is true that a low ball trajectory provides for more control but the result is that these golfers are hitting drivers less than 220 so they move up to the senior tee box when they really don’t need to as far as strength goes. Frankly, I have pointed out to them that they don’t need to be stronger or more flexible but as Todd explains, just put a little more effort into the vertical component of their swing. For sure though if there’s a knee or hip issue involved they are going to have difficulty rising up through the ball.
@@jerryinsc I’m definitely not implying that anyone in their 70’s would be able to drive it 300 yard’s except Dr. Gary Wiren. Like you, I have a lot of experience with senior golfers. And, yes, you should play the tees that give you fun. However, I can say with confidence that most senior golfers, due to their experiences, start hitting the ball lower and lower. Some of it is related to their physical fitness. But I think it’s mostly due to their perception that a lower ball flight is safer. I can’t disagree with that. However, the trade off in a negative way is distance. So, even without seeing your swing, I would suggest that if you want to hit the ball longer than you do now, look up at the clouds or above the trees in the distance. Make that your target instead of focusing on keeping the ball between the trees. Do look a a very specific point in one cloud or above the top of one tree. Just give it a try. You don’t need to swing harder and you certainly don’t want to fall back as you try to hit it higher. I’ll bet dollars to donuts that you will get 10 to 20% more distance from your driver. A guy once asked me how I get my irons to go higher (if I should so choose) considering your told to hit down. My answer was just think higher. Think penthouse instead of 7th floor. You can still hit down but get a higher ball flight. It has a lot to do with the angle of incidence. Much more than trying to lift the ball. In fact if you don’t hit down you will usually get a lower ball flight with an iron. So my over arching thought is from Ben Hogan paraphrased, trajectory is everything in golf. Nothing wrong with playing the senior tees but if you’re able to hit it further than your buddies, they will be buying lunch assuming your short games are equal.
