The “ sit down “ causes many rotational problems . Also getting my hands to high or away from my knees . Creates a series of compensations then getting thin or hooked shots .
I love how you pieced root cause issue with then how to turn after. You give all the info in one video and its amazing. The golfing world needs you to have a 1,000,000+ subs ASAP
Thanks Giles. For me this is one of your best lessons. Your channel also makes it easier for me when I get some questions asked during a round in a group that I don’t know as I now simply say to subscribe to your channel as you’re not only a better golfer than I am you also have a unique ability to show and explain. Hopefully this keeps getting paid forward as it should see you achieve more than 100k in subscribers sooner than later as I’m sure I’m not the only one.
Great instructional video. You hit on every important aspect of a sound fundamental swing. Love posture and pivot drill. They are now my primary swing thoughts.
One of your best videos yet, thank you for combining so many important points and drills together in a single video. #2 and #3 are my biggest issues. For #2, slightly hinging my lead wrist while also extending my trail wrist until my lead wrist is flat is a great takeaway thought. Even if I maintain good wrist positions back down to impact, I find it difficult to release the club without introducing lead wrist extension just before impact rather than releasing correctly using forearm rotation, making my misses slight pushes right. I watch many videos of pros like Fleetwood or Korda releasing the club but can't quite replicate it yet. For #3, the pivot drill you gave is brilliant. Not only does it cue your rotation, but it also helps keep your hips from reverse pivoting or moving towards the ball and causing early extension.
Thanks, Gill , for very good help. Rotation, rotation, my little problem is not easy, but I am working on it . I am in Canada , Gallaghers Canyon golf course you are in ? Thanks for your excellent videos
Since subscribing to your channel, mind you I'm a total newbie, I've gone from not completely terrible to not all that bad 😂 still got work to do but every tip has helped. Thanks
With #2, it feels like the clubhead/hands doesn't seem as deep behind my head when I hinge more with the right wrist using the 2/3 -1/3 right-left hinge (i.e., it seems more of an upright/hands higher backswing)
Hi do we have to lock the wrist for ball impact and getting the square club face? If we don't, the ball wull force the the club face open or loosen upon ball impact. Lastly, can I use the left foot to push to right foot downswing? I always let my left foot passive except supporting the weight durinh upswing. And right foot take over the weight shifting.
When you swing the club your wrist hinge was minimal. I tried hinging my wrists early, it totally ruined my swing. My wrists don't hinge until the top of my backswing and only slightly like you did on your swing. I have foot drop on my right foot, I'm a left handed golfer, so trying to get on my heel is next to impossible. I try and flare out my front foot which helps immensely for hip rotation for me. My rotation is minimal but I do hit the ball straight.
Which of the root causes do you suffer from?
I find when I focus on pushing into the lead foot my ball striking goes up tremendously. Love the example with the yoga wedge.
Hi Giles - Rotation is my biggest failing, sometimes leading to overbalancing! KR, John, 74 near Seaford E Sussex 😥

Posture. No doubt.
@@LaurenceMSchwarz it’s one of the most common ones I see
this was one of the best ever lessons on how to rotate properly.
Thank you so much!

That would be a dream!
First on TH-cam golf instruction with slow mo to get the point across. Well done as usual.
Glad it helped! Something I’ve tried to implement more in recent videos

A lot of great information that’s easy to understand. Thanks for your instruction! Now…take it to the course 😅😅😅
Try it on the range first 😂
The best video I have seen so far on TH-cam. Thanks mate. You just earned a subscriber and a like
Thanks for the sub!
Very good one that I ll always keep in my playlist. The toes/heel thing was a key concept that helped me gaining almost 11yds per club.
Amazing! That’s a huge distance gain
Excellent well explained lesson
Glad you liked it!
Clear, concise, great demonstrations, two camera angles, and slow motion too.
Excellent video
Thank you very much!
Lots of great informations in one video.. wow. Three of those drills really were helpful to me. Thanks
Very welcome!
Been looking for this video as i am just starting with golf and this is perfect!

Exactly that! I do have videos on how to get the left arm and wrist releasing verses cupping
a million-dollar lesson proper!
Thank you!
Nice, clear description of these common swing basics and fixes!
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent video will take this to the range 👍
Thank you! Hope this helps

Thank you! You have earned a new suscriber. You explain things very clearly.
Thanks for the sub!
Good stuff...I really believe if a struggling golfer tries these exercises you will advance and understand your swing much better.
100%! Glad you enjoyed it
Amazing detail
Thank you!
Some great swing alpha on this vid ✅
Thanks
I can usually hit each root on just the front 9..thanks for the demonstrations
I feel like we can all relate to that
Good stuff, definitely going to use alignment stick drill
Go for it!
Now I only need to watch one video because you cover most fundamentals thanks
Exactly that!
Thanks for another amazing video!
No problem! Glad you enjoyed it!
Very good vid! Thank you!

Clubhead going deeper is caused by rotation & hand depth 👍🏻
giles, you have s great channel.
Thank you Steve!
Wow this is fire
Thank you mate!

There’s no locking of anything. You’re gripping it tight at impact but definitely no locking. Both feet have to push in downswing
@@Gilesgillgolf thanks so much. I have been neglecting the left foot for whatever reason. I will give a try.
@@oceanyt8 good luck!
I fall back toward 7 or 8 o'clock with all long clubs. I can't seem to get thru the ball and it causes short, fading drives... frustrating!
There will be a root cause reason for that!
