    The argument for the Ojamas being here was weird. I think they're better than other weak normal monsters just because they DO have that unique support for them. • @DaRkLoRdZoRc

      I think that the rationale is that, while the Ojamas are a surprisingly effective archetype, they're one of the few archetypes that relies pretty much entirely on support cards and not the Monsters themselves. I haven't played Yu-Gi-Oh! in a longass time, but here's a few comparisons of other Normal Monster decks that I can remember:
      Thousand Energy/Triangle Power: Boosts the power of Monsters on the field so they can run over your opponent's Monsters.
      Blue-Eyes White Dragon: While the game is built around absurdly long chains of effects and Summons nowadays, having a 3000 ATK wall between your opponent and your Life Points is rather nice. Something like Chaos Max or Alternative Blue-Eyes is even better.
      Skull Servants: Even if the Servants themselves have little use (from what I faintly remember), their mere presence powers up other cards, like King of the Skull Servants.
      The Ojamas are the one Normal Monster archetype where you almost never want or even NEED them to see use, because they're infinitely more valuable being bounced around the hand, deck, and Graveyard via their Spell cards. Even if you manage to swarm the field with them via something like Ojama Red, there's nothing that they can do that some other card won't do better. Even a group of Skull Servants can ATTACK without needing outside help. As far as I can remember, none of the Ojamas have any attack points at all on their own - not even their Fusions.
      tl;dr: The point here isn't that the Ojamas DON'T belong on this list because they're part of an archetype; it's that they DO belong on this list because, *even IN that archetype,* they're garbage compared to every other Normal Monster archetype in the game.

    Actually I think level 3 is a pretty good level for certain types of cards and archetypes. The rank 3 xyz lineup is pretty good for starters, including cards like Leviair, Nightmare Shark, Break Sword, Grampulse, and my all time favorite, Dante. Several cards aid and encourage rank 3 xyz plays like Tour Guide, Rescue Ferret, and the Terrortop+Taketomborg engine. It's probably because Burning Abyss is my favorite deck that I've learned the value of level 3 monsters.

    I'd like to suggest Best Ritual Monsters. Rituals have been getting better thanks to good generic support like Incantations and, most of the time when an archetype is focused on them, support tends to make them consistent as hell to pull off to counteract Rituals innate weaknesses. It'd be nice to see some love to my favorite special summon subtype in the game (and a worst list would be a little easy if you're just going off the old vanillas)

    Tyhone #2 would actually be pretty dope in Forbidden Memories too, as you can fuse him with several dragons to get Red Eyes, and then fuse Red Eyes with Meteor Dragon to get Meteor B. Dragon, the best monster that the player has access to. The only problem is that you just can't get him in any way without cheating.

    So apparently Dark Chimera and all of Panik's monsters originally had even 50 numbers for their attack value, but once it was ported to the anime, they included the boost from their weird Yami equivalent with boosted their attack by 30%. So in order for the attacks to stay the same after this effect, they changed the base number.
    So Dark Chimera was actually supposed to have 2100 attack, but was changed so that his attack would get close to that in the anime.

    Its so crazy, I remember using Lightning Conger to get out of sticky situations in the very early GBA games because they had type/attribute circles. So LC (Lightning Conger), because of its really odd typing, was able to get rid of some higher level threats that otherwise I couldn't deal with cause the games would make you have weak decks cause you "couldn't handle using" better cards. Was a really interesting and frustrating mechanic to work around

    In terms of level 5 normal monsters, there are a number of really bad ones, like say Rock Spirit, which is a level 5, spellcaster, earth monster with 1650 and 1900. And Leo Wizard has even worse stats... and there's not really many EARTH Spellcasters normal monsters either so, go figure that one out for yourself.....
    List Idea: Cards/archetypes that are meta with support but were released several years ago. I.E. Thunder Dragon is now an archetype thanks to the support it got this year even thought the card was originally released several years ago, over 15 at minimum I'd say.

  • @nihildwo4874
    @nihildwo4874 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    i mean from what i got from the video is:
    your criteria were: how easy is it to bring out?
    how bad are its stats ?
    how much generic type support and attribute support can it make use of ?
    but you never mentioned the criterium : does its type/level combination enable extra deck plays (which would kinda be the reason as to why you want to swarm the field with them).
    i mean i can agree with all of the cards on the list since i can t think of any real specific usefulness of any of these cards for an extra deck monster you can run. if you for example would have used shapesnatch as the worst level 5 monster i would immidiately make the counter argument of "wait, you can make cyber dragon nova with shapesnatch, so because of that it is slightly less bad than any non-machine type level 5 monster".
    if you make a similar video like this it might be wise to include this criterium as well in order to avoid a comment section full of comments like this.

    • @sturmmagier1
      @sturmmagier1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      With links monsters all monsters that can swarm are in a way useful. Granted you cant make cards that need effect monsters or knightmares but you can make link spider/proxy dragon and then go into knightmares/Borrel dragons.

    • @nihildwo4874
      @nihildwo4874 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      i mean i know that all monsters that can swarm are useful for link plays or xyz plays. hence why he took the generic type and attribute support they can use into account.
      my point was - i was not sure IF he has taken a look at the xyz line-up for the specific level or and have taken a look if a specific attribute or type would allow a crappy monster to be technically be usable as a material for a very strong monster.
      if we for example had a level 2 normal monster with 0 atk and defense but that monster would be aqua type you could make the argument that that monster can technically be used to make toadally awesome, which is a very strong card. that would make it slightly less bad than for example a level 2 normal reptile monster with better stats.
      and well, if he had named the hypothetical aqua type monster the worst level 2 normal monster in the game, the entire comment section would be full of comments saying what i just said "hurrrdurrr, you can make toadally awesome with it".
      since he never mentioned he has kicked a card out for this reason, i was not sure he has taken that factor into account, so all that i am saying is: if you make a similar video in the future, it would be good to take a look at this as well if you did not do it. this was just meant as a feedback and not a negative comment in any way.

    Ojamas: Sure, they're individually weak. Their archetype can do some really crazy stuff, though.
    Hieratic Seal: having played Hieratics in Duel Link, having a level 8 dragon-type vanilla is kind of important for their plays. That being said, I preferred running them with ol' Blue-Eyes rather than Seal.
    Flying Fish: If this had been released in the Synchro era I would have assumed it existed specifically for Synchro plays off of cards that float low-attack monsters. But this was released all the way back in freakin' Labyrinth of Nightmare. That's freakin' Android Format.
    Soitsu and Aitsu: These guys solely exist as a reference to _Sexy Parodius,_ another Konami game.

    I stopped playing Yu-Gi-Oh roughly when Pendulum Monsters were released, have never played competitively or even online, so I have no real idea of how people play the game outside of my person friend group. This makes these videos really interesting.
    I did, however, have a Hieratic Deck (with Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon and some of its Xyz variants, which probably wasn't good but it worked in my ultra-casual setting.)
    I never had a copy of Inferno Reckless Summon to play, even if that idea actually sounds kind of cool in the deck, but I just shoved three Blue-Eyes into the deck instead of the Seals.
    The vast majority of the effects just refer to Normal Dragon monsters and set the card's stats to 0, so it's an equally valid target, while at least being theoretically useful if I can put it on the board through other means than Hieratic Dragon effects.

    Have you heard of my friend Ojama Red? When it’s normal summoned, it dumps all of your ojamas from your hand onto the field. Combo that with Tri-Wight

    I won my first tournament with skull servant, as a joke, I got him over 4000atk and beat a blue eyes deck to claim victory... ahh the good old days when 1 duel would take 15min

    Interestingly, lightning conga was kind of good in YGO: The Sacred Cards (gba game), because opponents would always attack face down defence monsters, and with the deck restrictions and low cost to put into your deck, and your opponents really awful decks, you could set up a good play or two with it, leaving the opponent with only one weak attack position monster on the field.
    But yeah, apart from badly programmed video games from 2002(?) I don't really see a use for it lol

      What? Why? The ojama deck is good and the og trio is mandatory for the deck, but the monsters themselves are ass

      @@KingOfDarknessAndEvil they're supossed to be that way, in this game there's simply more than broken expensive cards and hot new summon mechanics, there's also support and knowing what to do with everything you have... even vanillas 👑

      @@VixXstazosJOB True, however because of that I think it's not wrong for him to put them on the list. It's like he made a list titled "top 10 hot things on Earth" and put fire on it or something

    4:09 No, no it can't. Bahamut Shark requires 2 level 4 WATER monsters for material, Flying Fish is WIND.

    I can't agree with your number 10 pick. Ojama's can be fun to play. Their support makes a pretty neat God engine; which no one ever really saw coming. Well not usually. I like to run them with The Creator as well. To each their own I guess. Good video non the less.
