I'm thinking about clubbing in Berlin some time soon but never did it. I'm 44 already and recently single after being married for 9 years. In my younger days I did plenty of clubbing in Amsterdam where I'm from but that's a lot more casual by the sound of it, like no dress codes or things like that. So any tips for an older dude to get started? And at least in Amsterdam its very easy to "buy certain things to make the evening more interesting" if you know what I mean... How would that work in Berlin?
@ageoflove1980 @ageoflove1980 in my experience Amsterdam partying is also fun, but different from Berlin. Indeed, it's harder to get into a club in Berlin. Dress codes depend on the kind of party, but dressing a bit "sexy" while staying yourself is the go-to here. But it's easier to get inside alone, definitely not with a group of men. Also better to go very late in the morning, or for Berghain, like was mentioned, going Sunday around noon.
Berliner here. Very good video, the only thing that I‘d tell people who visit Berlin: don’t feel pressured that you „must“ go partying. If you go, you must not take more drugs than the guys in front of you, just chill. The fomo is usually pretty big and this is where frustration comes into play as lots of tourists stand in line and get rejected. Just go there as you like, don‘t plan too much in advance but be aware that each club is individual.
Yeah go there without planning, you’ll get bounced 100%. The honest truth is that everybody is talking about open minded environment, that every body is free. So free that if you don’t dress as they want you get kicked out, you can’t take a single picture because the guy licking shoes on the floor doesn’t want his friend to know about it. All those stories about freedom are a huge rhetorical bullshit.
You may not believe it, I’m a 40 year old, and raver for the last 25+ and when I first visited Berlin I have spent time exploring museums, streets, restaurants etc. Haven’t stepped in any of the clubs there.
That’s how I ended up in tressor ,, I went for a walk ,, accidentally bumped into the owner and told him I collected heaps of techno records in the 90 s in Melbourne Australia and he told the bouncers to let me in ,, I didn’t really plan on going clubbing that night I was walking around sussing out the night life but I had an awesome night ,, one of the best nights of my European holiday
The mexican/spanish couple described more the pre-COVID era. Sadly Musa 8:45 is so right. It has changed a lot since corona :( The music is harder, the drugs are harder, the vibe is harder.. Prices have doubled, which destroyed the balance of "regular" guests and tourists because Berlin residents don't go out as often as before, a lot of "old" folks stopped to go at all, the next generation is more selfish and self-centered.
@@mAthXjAzz keep the world inside for a year and people go crazy and disconnect from their societies and communities. this is does not just go for clubbing ofc
I actually agree with this, I’ve been going to Berlin for years for parties and visit friends, I went last October for the first time since covid and noticed the vibe was different and like you said harder and not in a good way. Even Berghain which I’ve been too many times was different, the atmosphere was more aggressive than before. The best times of my life was spent Sunday afternoon in Panaroma bar but last time it was different! Anyway I go back next week so we’ll give it another go
Just watched small documentary about dying british pubs culture so similiar situation, basicly people go out less because prices high and social media makes us lazy, also covid showed us way to spend time at home
@@eamonlongthe newer generation of Berliners became more cult-like with leftist politics, and less groovier with their music. No more room for different opinions, at least from what I’ve experienced.
People forget that Berlin has a lot more to offer than just the clubs!! Its history makes it extremely special and virtually anything "Berlin" is just different. The football culture is very special for example, the food scene is vibrant and interesting as well! The techno scene in Berlin, and more broadly the electronic music scene, is actually an integral part of the local culture!
Oh yeah went a couple of years ago with the wife and son and had a great time and didn't see a single club. I thought the former Soviet architecture was really interesting. And loved the big park with the Royal palaces at Sanssouci in Potsdam. There is just so much history and yeah some of it very dark and serious. Not only WWII and Communism, but also the story of Christiane F. for example. And traveling doesn't always have be "fun", some experiences are more about learning and showing respect.
Most important what was being said was that club culture changed after covid. The club scene was much more open and living the moment some claim it has to do with the shift of Techno becoming part of mainstream culture. You can put a sticker on your phones camera but you cant protect the setting from a certain mindset (not even a bouncer). Today its more influenced by ideals and expectations perpatuated by videos like this consequently leading to redundant stereotypes even if the stereotype embraces openness and pluralism. One can say that similarly to the demise of folk culture when theyve reached a status of political representation so in Berlin techno culture - it became a commodity/souvenir. The consumption of much heavier drugs also plays a crucial role leading to a loss of sense for the collective and making conversation impossible or at least very boring. Regularly people pass out on the dancefloor. Berlin as a capital for its club culture has long lost its place to other center like Georgia or Ukraine with new ones popping up around the world frequently. Ironically due to the medialization of Berlin as an Ideal and the subsequent creation of new “underground” subcultures with different multicultural backgrounds. Regarding Berlin as a center for personal freedom it has to be said that its biggest treasure is ultimately leading to its demise by the steady influx of global citizens and mass tourism subsequently leading to the dramtic increase of living costs which disperses native people to the city border and steralizing the city with those that can afford living in it. Ergo priviledged people making Berlins claim of being pluralistic, open and multicultural rather paradoxically since those who live out their personal freedom are those who can afford it (mostly coming from a similar social background). All in all one can say Berlin is not that special. But it was the first city from which a certain hedonistic and liberterian mode of living in the context of club culture spread. In regards with LGBTQI aswell as the creative communities preferance to live in Berlin I can personally say that the same people that chose Berlin for its openness are now considering moving to more rural settings away from the city seeking annonymity and economic independece rather than spectacle and a fashion of living. Interestingly this is due to Covid and the newly found possibility of the moveability of the workplace making it possible to live independent from an urban center.
Very well said Hainberger - It reminds me of New Orleans, it had it's prime era now it feels cliche. I do hope the GRIT will stay with all the gentrification.
"the steady influx of global citizens and mass tourism" you know that this your problem for voting merkel, hence the only influx are africans and middle east "refugees", the ones who also have overcrowded the streets and increase the crime and uncertaintity for women on the subways and nights
I'm so happy that I'm older now. I used to go to "Maria am Ostbahnhof", "Berghain" in the first years then "Bar 25", the old locations of the KitKat. Later to "Kater Holzig" and "About Blank" and "b70" and other small clubs. These were the great days. It was much more open, less look-at-me, more cordial. I really met great people. It was also less international, but in a good way. Today people just come from everywhere so people have seen everything and are interested in nothing. I just been to the Sächsische Schweiz yesterday on the weekend and we had amazing hikes with a friend from New York and enjoyed the very special nature. This is 10000000x nicer than the Berghain now.
Especially when comparing hiking to Berghain: maybe getting older and more sober/healthy lifestyle adds a significant bias when comparing now to back in the days… how can we know how big of a role this plays? But i agree with the 'look-at-me' thing… although this already existed in the earlier decades, but it was always only a few people who looked & behaved like this and for me it was just adding to the mix of a crowd. I was on BH floor just yesterday (first time after 10 years)! And it was so fucking good, raving madness like a zoo gone wild… idk how many 0s i would add but definitely X times nicer than Sächsische Schweiz ;)
this is what everyone says that had a glimpse of the "old" Berlin. Language is a huge part to for connection with people. + the destructive effects of smartphones. add some failed state politics and you have this generic shithole we have to experience every day. no more solidarity, only big city hustle
That’s what I was thinking, is it using drugs and having sex anywhere in front of anyone the ultimate freedom??? Really? Ok, I don’t know what that is and have no kinky thoughts to find out. And yet it’s all happening in a caged environment.
Berlin is one of my favorite cities in the world but to be honest you don’t need drugs to enjoy the city. I just enjoy the energy and openness of the city.
Personally found Berlin clubbing vibes really fun & welcoming, went to VOID for NYE and everyone was just loving it! There wasn't a dress code either like I've heard for other places, which is great. Would highly recommend! Great informative video. Although I’ve heard you can stay in queues for hours to get into other clubs like Berghain and that does not appeal to me at all
I'm currently in Berlin for a few weeks after having visited a couple of times for shorter lengths prior. With Saturday night and Sunday morning, that now makes a total of 4 'heute nicht' or not today/tonight on getting into Berghain. Frustrating, but I'll keep trying. And yes, I've done all of the things - dress in predominantly black (maybe I need more leather haha), be chill in line, answer in German (when I can..the last two times then didn't even ask anything and just waved me and others directly through), and know some of the DJ's playing that night. I'm a big fan of techno and even produce it myself (shoutout Ableton Live...a company in Berlin) and I just really want to experience what is rumored to be one of the best systems in the world for techno. Tresor is always a good time. After not getting into Berghain on Saturday, I needed to warm up after standing out in the cold for 2h15m and went there. Classic techno bunker vibes with a great sound system. Sisyphos is cool (when it's warm). Went to Kit Kat on a Sunday after not getting into Berghain and it was somewhat surprisingly...dead. Smoked a joint around the pool and just kind of hung out with the other dozen or so people doing the same. No dancing to be had at all. Assuming they let me in, I'm going to try RSO next weekend.
As an Berliner I do know this thinks already, but it is very interesting for me, to see the perspectives from visitors and new Berliners. I like this channel (since I found it few minutes ago).
“I left Berghain today in the morning. What is really interesting is that when the lights went on, the music stopped and nobody wanted to look at each other. Everyone was looking on the floor. But here on this event (ecstatic dance) the complete opposite.” If that doesn’t tell a lot, then I don’t know … F*cking, masturbating and drugs everywhere. Disgusting. Such a low frequency. If this is a form of freedom, then I honestly feel sorry for you. Poor souls. The humankind is done with this kind of mindset. And it’s actually the opposite of a freedom. And let me see you going there SOBER. No drugs. No alcohol. If you can also be as friendly and free as you think you are …
I have been partying in Berlin night clubs a few times sober and could still enjoy my time or even casually connect with strangers. I think most people can, but choose that they are going to have even more fun when they're not sober.
My sister went to Berghain completely sober a few times and enjoyed it, so yeah, it`s possible. But that was long before Covid, so if it changed much like people said maybe it`s different now.
For future interviews, it might be enriching to include seasoned ravers who have deep roots in the scene. This could provide a more authentic perspective on the culture of techno and raves. It seems that these individuals might not be fully familiar with the scene, even within their own country.
I miss kitkat club. On my last day in berlin, i visited kitkat. What i saw inside i never saw in my life. I also ate a esctacy pill inside and danced like a maniac.Nightclubs in germany are on another level.
I love the Mexican guy. Especially when it comes to drugs and clubbing. Back in the day, (90s) ) everything was actually a bit more "relaxed". But that guy is to to the point and I couldn't describe it better. And I've been a pioneer of the scene since 1991.
Question for people who live in Berlin: are people OUTSIDE the clubbing/techno scene just as open-minded? Im not talking about drugs or sex stuff. Just general tolerance towards "alt" lifestyles, like being childfree, single by choice, switching careers at midlife, etc. I'd like to live in a diverse place, make new friends, and all of that; i am SO over drugs and partying but im not really into a traditional lifestyle either.
I don't know if I'd like to live in a society where drug abuse, promiscuity and weirdness are not frowned upon and seen as a virtuous consequence of freedom.
Ive visited berlin twice with my boyfriend..we are open minded but come from a small town in Scotland with 1 club that could fit about 300 people inside. We experienced a total culture shock in berline. We went to a gay bar, berkenkammer something. I was using the urinal and felt soemone squeeze my bum. Expecting it to be my boyfriend i turned round to find an older german guy wearing leather with a grin on his face. The scotsman came out in me and i got rather angry, he didnt look at me for the rest of the night
Thank you for sharing your experience. Berlin can be very extreme when it comes to partying, even compared to other big cities. I can imagine that if you come from a smaller town, then the shock is even amplified.
In switzerland we have this Checks for drugs in front of the Party already for over 30 years...and its for free, and they tell you really fast whats inside your stuff. So this things exist already for a long time , aswell in Germany ....so this not new at all. Peace and Kisses from Berne
I've been to many techno clubs in Madrid and there was no need to dress up posh in heels at the underground clubs. She went somewhere different. In fact the Spanish scene before covid was a lot more approachable than some of the vibes in Berlin but I was living in Madrid so was a local.
Berlin, in its present state, symbolizes disintegration, where ethical guidelines and morals have vanished. Once vibrant and culturally significant, the city now teeters on chaos, with eroded societal bonds leaving a landscape devoid of collective conscience. Anonymity in Berlin is a double-edged sword, offering refuge and reinvention while fostering isolation and stripping away accountability. In this void, vices like drugs, sex, and violence flourish unchecked. The violence is both physical and existential, reflecting the deep psychological wounds of its inhabitants. The lack of community and collective responsibility traps residents in a cycle of chaos and despair. Broken people are drawn to Berlin's dark allure but find themselves further alienated from functional society. The city, a sanctuary and a prison, magnifies their fractures, making healing elusive. Ultimately, Berlin exemplifies the destructive power of disintegration, where the broken remain broken.
I don't agree with your opinion about the violence. Yes, here you can feel sometimes a little bit aggression in the air, if you are in the wrong time to a wrong place - like in almost any big city over the world. But at least in our clubs. I live here for more than 30 years, and never have been experience significant amount of violence and not physical violence at all. (and only kindness in the clubs) Futher more, I can't see any difference between Anonymity in Berlin or Anonymity in London or Paris or New York ... (Anonymity is actually a double-edged sword, I agree in this)
@@MrTommispilot Your personal experiences are like a single thread in the vast tapestry of reality. While your perspective is valid, relying on anecdotal evidence is like holding a candle in the dark-illuminating only a small space. Crime statistics, however, reveal a broader truth that extends beyond individual experiences. Just because you haven't personally experienced violence doesn't mean it isn't a real and growing issue. The broader reality of rising crime rates isn't negated by individual experiences, no matter how long you've lived somewhere. Relying on personal anecdotes can lead to an incomplete understanding of the situation, as it's important to look at objective data rather than solely your own experiences if you want to tacke a public issue.
@user-kd7qu5hj5q The drugs are very cheap. But you meet a wide variety of people in these clubs. Some are trust fund people, tech bros, doctors, artists, poor Berliners, etc. GBL (a GHB analog) was very cheap when I used to go there, as was speed, and ecstasy. I actually met a girl in Berghain, asked her what drugs she was doing (some coke and GBL) and she said she was an ER doctor and had to work the next day.
I'm living in Berlin for 12 years now and clubbing is fucked. Seeing stoned people everywhere bores me....same stories every time. and everytime the famous party is just in their head.
I've been living in Berlin since 2008. I have DJed throughout the city. The drugs are actually spoiling the fucking scene you melts, I've had guests coming into the DJ Booth to ask me for Coke etc. Tossers.
@@mokujinsan9946😂😂😂 well some people come just because of that. Berlin is messed up with dr*gs. I'm saying this since high school. Kids already start partying hard at a very young age here.
@@TheMovementHub I've been a DJ since 1988, I'm from the UK part of the original rave scene full of drug memes, but Berlin was an eye opener to the extent of the use of drugs. Germans are not really that bad, it's the Spanish, Argentinians, Italians and Americans that go completely mental over drugs.
@@mokujinsan9946wow, that's a long time. 36 years of being a DJ. Chapeau. You must have seen a lot. Yes I remember all these memes. It's interesting to hear from your perspective that people go harder than that in Berlin.
I don't know. I lived in Berlin 8 years, been to all major clubs there and a huge fan of live music, DJs, theres nothing like the club experience there for sure. Just the sheer sound systems, the lighting, and architectural spaces made for these gatherings..some feel like you're on some underground submarine in space. Overall, the night life is a very novel thing to a newcomer, nothing like it , I would say. However, like anything, believe it or not, it can get old. I met local Beliners, by the time they're like 19-20, have seen it all, looking 10 years past their age, becoming young and jaded quickly. The last time I went to Berghain, it felt really..hmm let's say.. inauthentic and over branded. There is so much hype around it, I guess it's no surprise. To get in there everyone is told to wear black, dont talk too much, blah blah...but as I looked around, everyone was basically wearing the same style of black clothing Matrix Euro trashy costume...I mean no variation either...it just looked so cookie cutter and plastic..I'm sure it wasn't like that years ago, but i guess the same thing happens anywhere that gets too big and too famous, and yes, funded by the government. But there are other great clubs, and always a great time in Berlin, if you don't stay too long 😂.
Great video!! I´m going back to Berlin, to visit the city for the second time, I am from México City and wanted to go to a techno club, since I am a big fan of techno and metal music. I was wondering if someone has an advice for a 27 year old mexican girl that wants to hear good music and dance! Is it safe to go alone? Do I need to be extra aware? Any advice is welcome. Thank you!
I would say the techno scene in Berlin is pretty safe and consensual. But be careful with taking drinks from strangers (there might be something inside that you wouldn't expect), and also watch your own drink carefully.
Goodmorning Party Peeps...Damn i remember those days and vibe early 90's in the clubs and underground party's in the Netherlands,Belgie,Germany and it was awesome. About sex in tha club, yep we where saying to each other if some in the group have AIDS well........... and about drugs we were eating them like smarties . Now 56 years old and still alive and i say it one more time it was focking awesome. Have a nice day. 😎
Berlin is the true Adult party place...LA, NY, Miami...they have nothing on the Germans when it come to partying!! I am so happy that I live in Germany.
Berghain and what it symbolizes is, in fact, more or less pretentious nonsense. And yes, I've been there more than once as I used to live in Berlin. This isn't "clubbing" - an electronic soundtrack to your night doesn't make it clubbing. Berghain is a lot of individuals who desperately want to say they've been to Berghain. When just getting inside is apparently some kind of big deal due to the Security, how is that remotely connected to the foundations of Techno and what it represents? It's not at all. Berghain is attempting to be some sort of wild art instillation where everything is permissible and personal freedom is paramount, but in truth, it's really just a bunch of pretentious wannabees - the majority of them tourists or people from other countries living in Berlin, doing a lot of drugs while listening to techno so they can talk on social media about having done this in "Berghain" and in their mind feel special or elite...there are countless better environments than the most overhyped building in Germany to take drugs and listen to techno. The Mexican dude sums up the vibe quite well, but he's wrong when he says he's noticed the atmosphere has changed due to harder drugs - the drugs are the same, but the atmosphere has changed due to people being pissed off at their experience...all that hype and expectation and queuing forever only to get inside and realize it's not that special at all.
Thank you for taking the time and giving your perspective. Indeed, many people nowadays advice going to other clubs than Berghain. Friday and Saturday is indeed Touri night. On Sundays one can find more locals though.
@@TheMovementHub You're welcome. And I know this information about Sundays. But the vast majority of people don't want to attend a club on a Sunday because if they're taking any substances, they're going to feel like shit on Monday morning and possibly the first 2-3 days of the week. The door policy is a joke - turning people away who have bought tickets and possibly traveled from another country to get to Berlin to experience that? There is NO defending that policy. And the Security become these almost celebrity-types or Gods?😆When you really think about it, you understand why so many people now think of Berghain as being almost anti-techno. This is so far removed from techno's origins and the spirit of the movement that grew out of techno in Detroit/Berlin/Rotterdam that it's impossible to ignore it. This is basically Reality TV/Celebrity techno.
Thank you for saying that @@TheMovementHub.❤But I'm not special in thinking this. Many people across Europe feel like this. I was at a club in Cologne last year that made Berghain look boring and pretentious. There's a club in Bogota called Hard Kapital that makes Berghain look like a children's Disney movie - hard techno, the best cocaine you're ever likely to experience, and Colombian after-parties so crazy that they become core life memories.☠ Berghain is a product of hype - it's been marketed very well...like a myth. But in truth it's just lots of people doing drugs in a room while listening to techno. You can stay at home and do that every weekend with your friends, and without all the pretentious bullshit from security who believe they are celebrities. Love, Respect, Techno. Say NO to fake people.💚
As a Berliners it’s very weird to see how people cosplays as clubbers and seeing all the things they do because they think it is done that way. The drugz the outfits the attitude. It’s cringey. And ithers on the other hand are overwhelmed. But at the end of the day it is just part of Germanys/Belrins you get history. And it’s not what it was in the nineties anyway. So the whole rule thing and extreme thing is so weird. It used to be a safe space with good music for queer people, gay men. The music in atraught Clubs back then could compare. It was directly after the fall of the fall, so young people just went clubbing in lost spaces, it was a whole culture. Nowadays its so different! If you don’t like clubbing or the music you don’t have to pretend to like it.
funny is, that 15 years ago, the discussion was almost the same with berghain. probably now, the popularity has pushed into mainstream meanwhile. this makes berghain even more desirable and mystical. from my personal experience, bh was good, but never the best party location for me. smaller clubs can offer a more warming clubbing experience with nice people. ok, the bh and pb soundsystems are great.
I've been visiting Berlin since I was 6 and I'm living here for about a decade now, and I still find that Berlin clubbing hype stupid. All these people seem somewhat brainwashed to me. I used to go to parties, but as soon as I've seen clubs in Berlin, I've stopped, because the people here are behaving like cult members and it's annoying to watch and experience. IMHO music and clubs in Berlin are boring and bland. It's almost sad, because these clubs could do so much better and become so much more unique, but they choose to follow the hype and cult of drug addicts who under the influence view these places as their temples. Also the dress code is so boring. All these clubbing peeps look the same!
Great video and many facts especially from the mexican and spanish couple. ”People not there to show off” is not true though, that is the exact reason why I dont enjoy Berghain. Too much stupid looks from the people who just visit berlin for the weekend, in the queue and inside. If your local you know what I mean
One of my sons moved to Berlin from Spain and started working at Wilde Renate and taking all these drugs like ecstasy, speed, ketamina... Here in Spain he only used to smoke marijuana 😥
I put if off in the middle. Weird outsider perspectives of berlins club culture, totally touristy which sux 1. differentiate the clubs. Don’t talk about it as if it is everywhere the same. 2. it’s not the government that tastes the drugs. That are social projects for health prevention purposes.
Drugs have been tested in doors of clubs in Spain (from Energy Control / Fernando Caudevilla - Doctor X) since 20 years. Things like harm reduction dont start existing when you start discover them (02:15).
I've been to the Army of Hardcore 2018 in Oberhausen. i was in bed for 3 days afterwards, just drinking beer to feel better. it was horrible. i love techno, but all those drugs don't work for me
I've been to a club in Bogota called Hard Kapital with Colombian friends - I had only known them for a couple of days the night we went, but after a chat about what music we liked, they wanted me to experience this with them. This happened in 2017, but it was such a good night that I still remember it vividly. Daniella Haverbeck playing a hard techno set in Bogota was not something I had expected to see while experiencing South America, but thank you to the Colombian people for being so friendly and curious about the Irish guy partying with them. Much love to Colombia and its people.💚

There was silly me thinking this would be all about the music. Sounds like the Berlin scene has been messed up by tourists and not like a place I want to visit right now! You don't have to dress raunchy for an underground techno club, that's ridiculous. The couple being interviewed here sound really wide-eyed and like they'd never been part of original rave culture back in the day (eg being looked after and offered water by other punters was totally normal).
What I don't really get is the fixation in those few clubs. If you only want to experience a kinky, sex positive clubs or parties, there are a lot more all over Germany. The mix with top DJs might be unique, but I have the feeling most of the tourists want to watch sex going down in a club. And that's not exclusive to Berlin 😊
Same thoughts on that one. A lot of documentaries of Berlin are made from foreigners for foreigners/tourists. Real Berlin life looks different. Ask the locals 😎

Any idea why it changed that much?
@@ageoflove1980 you said it man! I wish to go to Potsdam next time I go!
Yes. You hate it or you love it. I hate it! You love it 😂
Every city has a history😂
@@dickens123 Every city has a DIFFERENT history.

Same + Tresor ;)

this is what everyone says that had a glimpse of the "old" Berlin. Language is a huge part to for connection with people. + the destructive effects of smartphones. add some failed state politics and you have this generic shithole we have to experience every day. no more solidarity, only big city hustle
Very qualitative video, you found the right people to describe the scene and experience
Thank you :). I'm glad to hear you liked it
Why do people always associate freedom with debauchery? That is not freedom that is being a slave to the animal self. True freedom is of the soul.
Lol freedom of choice? We can choose to be whatever we want, that in itself is the beauty of freedom. Sounds like you have a bias.
That’s what I was thinking, is it using drugs and having sex anywhere in front of anyone the ultimate freedom??? Really? Ok, I don’t know what that is and have no kinky thoughts to find out. And yet it’s all happening in a caged environment.
Have you been?
Its just sick people trying to rationalize

Berlin is one of my favorite cities in the world but to be honest you don’t need drugs to enjoy the city. I just enjoy the energy and openness of the city.

That sounds tough. I wish you the best of luck with your next attempts. Hope you will have a great time.
Very cool interviews - liked hearing the personal reflections and the experiences of the clubs.
Great work.- very much enjoyed the video.
Thank you for your nice words. I'm glad you enjoy them :)
As an Berliner I do know this thinks already, but it is very interesting for me, to see the perspectives from visitors and new Berliners. I like this channel (since I found it few minutes ago).
Great to have you here
“I left Berghain today in the morning. What is really interesting is that when the lights went on, the music stopped and nobody wanted to look at each other. Everyone was looking on the floor. But here on this event (ecstatic dance) the complete opposite.”
If that doesn’t tell a lot, then I don’t know …
F*cking, masturbating and drugs everywhere.

Maybe this was due to the pill...not to the club. Eat a pill in another place and enjoy the party in your head there.
I will say without drugs sadly its rare
They have free substance testing at festivals here in Australia
I don't know if I'd like to live in a society where drug abuse, promiscuity and weirdness are not frowned upon and seen as a virtuous consequence of freedom.
I'd be terrified to live in the opposite.
Oh god yeah. I could imagine that influencers and such treating a club almost like a zoo would ruin the entire scene.
This kind of scene in Berlin was also common before the influencer era.

Nice post. I was quite tired of seeing constant glorification of this type of lifestyle.
Tossers.

I agree with you
Thank you for saying that @@TheMovementHub.❤But I'm not special in thinking this.

Get yourself in front of a real soundsystem at an underground tekno free party 23...
Also in the Nederlands people can test their drugs. It’s mad but I’m sure it saves lives! The governments know that they can’t stop drug use but they can make it safer. 🤷♀️
We were doing this more than 25 years ago..... this is nothing new..... the UK 30 years ago it was wild..... it's just boring now.....
Netherlands also let people test drugs for free without issues
Wild chaotic Berlin. No rules.
The definition of uncool
En España también los hay, en Madrid o Barcelona, lo que pasa es que ella no lo conoce jaja no te flipes
So nice people! I would love to club with all of them ❤
Berghain became it's own parody 10 years ago. The scene in other cities must be really awful if they find modern day Berghain refreshing.
The guy asks a girl if he is allowed to talk!
He is impressed that people on drugs give other people water lol
He would be impressed what many People in Germany think about Berlin
That's where the 1980"s went!! 🙃👍
America or Berlin which is better?
Drugs are legal in German
Hate hate hate drug use
Then don't do them?
If you do a lot of drugs does it effect your brain/mind long term?
Yes, should only do drugs a few times a year max
@@samdibb7978 what kind of ways does it effect someone?
Sounds interesting but i‘d rather attend a CREAM SODA party.
You would love Kyiv too then, especially Closer and some other (I would not tell the names, but one of them is my number 1 ever). And festivals like Stricka, Brave … Kharkiv’s Kultura Zvuku was so good, but sadly they’re no more in Kharkiv. The music isn’t just hard, but interesting. Help Ukraine win and you will see one of the best electronic scene in Europe developing
hyperpop clubs in Amsterdam are much like that haha
I had no clue hyperpop clubs exists 💀 I thought hyperpop was solely an online thing 😂
I would dance too brooklynbloodpop 😂
There was silly me thinking this would be all about the music. Sounds like the Berlin scene has been messed up by tourists and not like a place I want to visit right now! You don't have to dress raunchy for an underground techno club, that's ridiculous. The couple being interviewed here sound really wide-eyed and like they'd never been part of original rave culture back in the day (eg being looked after and offered water by other punters was totally normal).
What they are saying is accurate , it’s not being wide eyed
What I don't really get is the fixation in those few clubs. If you only want to experience a kinky, sex positive clubs or parties, there are a lot more all over Germany. The mix with top DJs might be unique, but I have the feeling most of the tourists want to watch sex going down in a club. And that's not exclusive to Berlin 😊
always the same story lines presented by non berliners - authentic xD
and when u know the truth u know its a shthoIe lol
Same thoughts on that one. A lot of documentaries of Berlin are made from foreigners for foreigners/tourists. Real Berlin life looks different. Ask the locals 😎
🎵Los que hacen clubbing ,creen que es lo mas importante ,🎶 cantaba Moris en los 70
How boring to be in a club where the males dont make a move... Flirting would be my main thing when going to a Club
Absolut ausgelutscht die schuppen... 😂😂
Wo issn gut?
@@TheMovementHub mbia, weißer Hase, Mlk Blankenburg, geheimclub u Ellen noir Magdeburg, elipamanoke u sky Leipzig, Paula u Sektor Evolution Dresden, Karl graf Kassel...
ritter butzke by far the best club in berlin
