The annoying thing in Germany is - no matter where - that there is always a rule for everything and certainly always someone who gets pissed off for not obeying the rule telling you off for any minor thing. In many ways, Berlin is more relaxed than other places in German, kind of the Prussian Mediterranean.
Funny interveuw. But integration is someting you do yourselve.
We Czechs usually don't wear our hearts on our sleeves (possibly for historical and cultural reasons) and if someone doe's, they are quite suspicious. We need to authenticate you first. If you cannot spare a bit of your precious time to go through small talk first, we will never really open up to you. Reciprocity. Maybe even more important is - don't ever decline or leave any food on your plate when you are visiting our home. Very rude (but we will usually don't tell you so, you are still our guest). Anyway, after the succesfull "first contact", Czechs are very hospitable people. Just watch any YT video of foreigners meeting total strangers ending up stuffing themselves with food, getting drunk, singing and dancing together etc. Just be a little bit like us, we will usually embrace you fully. And don't be affraid, we won't bite :) P.S. One sentence in (although broken) Czech unlocks our hearts, pantry and wine cellar.
I know this guy, we did a DMT refresh course at south of Spain. Nice guy. Big respect, real OG diver
How cool and what a coincidence. He really is one of the biggest sweathearts I have met.
Why Eastern Europeans and slavic people in the Netherlands speak so much better English than the slavic people in England??? The same with the black or African/asian- muslim people
1:09 i think he is from Kerala
You are very correct sir
@TheMovementHub I'm from Kerala
Nice. Greetings from Germany
After partying in Berlin you will find all other club scenes boring.
Don't worry, even Czechs hate people of Prague.
Seems like boring people which I have 0 interest in visiting. They say Americans are fake, they all seem fake. Trying to hard to “keep a stiff upper lip.” Just relax and be yourself. Lmao
I'm from NYC, and it seems that the club scene in Berlin now is what NYC was 25 to 30 years ago... Been there, done that! I won't be in any of them...
Trick question , German culture is being erased
german cultute used to be ,science ,music ,philosophy ,intellectualism, now its kabab and Sharia (and always just as antisemetic)
Woman at minute 5:40 says that it is easier to flirt in Madrid, but it is because they dont have standards and they talk to all foreign women because they have terrible and rude women in Madrid and they can end up arrested or insulted if they talk to a woman
In Barcelona we have standars and all women in this video have a low category. Dating culture here is OK but not for you baby
I love that shirt
I actually though the same 😅
mkay so techno is ok, don't get me wrong. But if you want anything besides techno - and there's tons of other genres of dance music - Berlin sucks then. Nah
Man, I envy you, if you can let it go. But you have to. Its his problems, blow him a kiss 😅
7:11, the girl says "Germans are more easy-going than the Turks", I found it a bit offensive as a Turkish man(I am living in Türkiye). Both cultures has its own pros and cons. It is not that strict. Let's recall some cons for German side; According to a couple of statistics Germans among the top countries that cheat within marriage. Besides, I am sure still there is some burnt flesh smell in the air since there are some group of people in Germany who love to fire around (you got what I meant) I am planning to do my masters in mathematics and contribute to the society that I live in, want to travel around and see the world. But just because of those kind of racist thoughts I do not want to even get out of my country. Note that you can come to our country and enjoy our beautiful nature as well as hospitality.
My family is from NRW and it is a completely different culture. Very chatty Very much small talk Very provincial and sheltered in terms of attitude etc... But also muticultuarl in Cologne etc.
I would also agree that NRWlers are the most open and easy going Germans I've met so far
The Turkish guy hit the nail on the head in every point.
Dating german women is like the Dentist profession, like pulling teeth, nearly impossible
Most prefer dating an app or spend most of their free time with their smart phone than with a real person
Its getting dangerous and people act like is nothing happend. Unsafe
berlin such a complicated stadt
hmmmm... I think we can look to be a bit paranoid or cold... when someone is way to warm from starters and we dont know him... I would compare it to bright sun when you took sunglases because of it... there is nothing wrong with you... we just arent used to it.. thats it 🙂 I have a american friend she is very polite, warm etc. ... even Im pretty extrovert person... english speaking... i took some time for me to get used to it... p.s. Im not from capital... I guess its different than rest of country but it will be case of all places over the globe anyway I guess 🙂
Mr GF is from Czech and grew up during Communism. She is always turning off the lights when not in the room. Luckily for me I'd do the same as my Father grew up during the Great Depression. So I sometimes say, " Are you sure you're not German? " As us German American are known for hard work and being frugal.
Best dating app to connect with someone in Berlin?
I understood Hinge is quite good
Everyone is absolutely clueless! This is a disaster, we need to get it together as an entire generation and get more serious about marriage.
I'm from america and I fell in love with a girl from the Czech Republic and she fell in love with me 😊😊
How beautiful. Best of luck to you guys ☺️
I’m an Hamburg based Italian. I see a lot of similarities between the two countries.
Looks like hell
Congratulations, you are interviewing they very people who are destroying Berlin.
In my opinion Czech food is one of the best in the world. It lacks freshness sometimes: like obviously fresh seafood that I love but in every other aspect -it's the best. No other cuisine can create so much flavor from simple ingredients. Czech soups and stews are better than anything I tasted in Italy or France, yet those cultures are celebrated for food.
Why are they here in the first place? Didn't the typical Italian Machiavelist attitude from the likes of Berluscorni or Fabrizio Corona to mention some prototypes with standard Italian mentality live up to your expectations?
Dutch are very friendly and quite social, the habits we learned from Italy and use in our daily lives are enjoying a good cup of coffee and the Dutch sometimes eat pasta several times a week, even though as a Dutchman I make the best fresh basil pesto possible, Mama and Nonna make it even better. Does France have super good wines? The ones from Italy really are tastier. Italians are traditional, hospitable and warm, but also very confident; Nothing beats their country, cuisine and customs! The Dutchman has planned his life so we don't waste each other's time! Italians are generally disorganized and the only thing predictable is that they are unpredictable. Rarely do they plan anything (and when they do, their plans change at the last minute), as one of the rules of Italian life is spontaneity. However, don't expect employees to be punctual. When they do go to work, they do not have their proper work gear with them. They are also bad at meeting deadlines. They often do not take urgency, keeping appointments, dates, opening hours and deadlines into account (the football match is the only event that starts on time). In August, the Italian population goes on holiday and there is nothing to do at home (except the tourist sector). Italy is also known for its corruption (and the Mafia). There is corruption at every scale in society, even in government. Tax evasion is the national sport and you certainly don't have to be involved in the hidden economy to be part of it.
that explains their inferiority complex with exports to the Netherlands. they underprice their products too much for the offered quality.
Why was there no Asians expat there interviewed?
The answer is… CITIES!
Germany didn’t learn anything from the history
Dude, all those “phones don’t spy on us” talks… Yesterday Reddit recommends me this trieddating Berlin survey and now TH-cam hits me with this video. Great video though, keep ‘em coming!
😅🤗
Total BS...they don't understand this culture at all...should learn history and.religious background of this country ..might help them in understanding ...I live here 24 years...among Dutch ppl...have Dutch friends...they are great ..respect your privacy...do not pop up at your home any time they wish ( but you dont).Italians are great abroad as it seems..but abuse each other in Italy...and yes Italians are all.about family..but only their specific family...other families do not interest them...even if drama is happening with neighbours next door...😮 " motto of Italians " my family is greatest and most important and yours is shit😢"..both are just arogant 😅😊..why not moving back to their greatest country ever ..and back to family life ???😅
Squat party
Amsterdam still is tolerant when you compare it to the rest of the country which is changing the last years. We are becoming less tolerant to people who just take lot but don’t give a shit. Many expats buy or rent with their tax profits houses, so younger Amsterdammer have to leave their city. Those expats socialite with other expats and don’t speak the language of the country they live in. We speak english to them and they do no effort to do a step in our direction. As an Amsterdammer you feel a bit misused this way. It irritates. As a whole it’s nice to live in a city where almost every nationality, culture and believe is present. Think about feasts, food and music. But one should living here become a bit Amsterdammer with own cultural background and don’t just live on your island with huge ‘grachten/canals’ around you and no bridges.
I lived in Amsterdam for 17 years and eventhough all the generalizations are true, I think it's just very rude to speak so harshly about the country you have chosen to live in. I mean, there's not a single mention of something positive. And this is a very typical stance on foreigners in Amsterdam. They love to talk sh*t about it, but they chose to stay. If a Dutch person gives the inevitable question "if it's so horrible why don't you leave?" They call her racist 😂
So an open letter to the "latin" as he calls himself gentleman, the sentiment goes both ways, we also find you very rude if you come into the office every day going "HELLO" at everyone loudly, being all buddy buddy, touchy feely, standing close together or whatever else if common down south. You dont get to be friendly with everyone here, that shit is earned, we dont smile at everybody, we smile at people we like, we keep our talks to ourselves, if you stand to people closer than 1 meter, rude as hell, also the handshake, if your handshake is weak or for some godforbidden reason you used your left hand, consider yourself done. Please think of Czechia like England or Japan, quiet reserved is good, loud and standoutish is bad, very bad.
I am an American married to a Czech man. We visit Czech Republic often to visit his family. I have to disagree that Czechs are unilaterally rude. It's a cultural difference to many countries - the USA included - that they are very reserved upon first meeting them. I believe part of this stems from the formal vs. informal aspect of their language translating into real life formalities. I also think that living under Communism changed their culture to a large degree because you couldn't trust your. neighbors to not turn you in for saying something "wrong" or against the regime. In any event, I have been treated with nothing less than the most amazing hospitality and friendliness outside of Prague (Plzen and the surrounding areas is where his family resides). Everyone takes us in and can't feed us enough! Food is love in this country IMO. 🙃 That being said, the average Czech on the street will not smile at you and be superficial or warm towards you - they don't know you and don't care. But once they get to know you, or are even introduced to you by someone they like or care about, they you almost become family to them. I am always dismayed at this misconstruction of the Czech culture because it is a false assumption - and, I think, is more true in Prague than anywhere else. If I had to live with that many tourists around all the time I might be a little rude and cranky at times, too.
I think the biggest contributor of this stereotype is by how the French view customer/worker relations. In the US, the customer is king... always. They are the source of the business's income and therefore what the customer wants, is what they get. It's a money-motivated society and so that's how it works. In France, a person's dignity is always going to be more important than your money therefore if you give a service worker an attitude, you are almost guaranteed to get an attitude back.
7:33 Does this man have a TH-cam channel?
Yes. If you type in "Allen Thomas comedy", his channel should appear
0:32 He integrated well. LOL
disgusting concept for a video. Subversion of the identity of the nation
These video interviews with the people of these cities are fantastic, thank you for making them.
Thank you so much for your words. That just made my day 🤗🤗🤗
