Thank you for the tutorial. You are so calming and easy to listen to. You don’t rush thru the blocks and it makes it easy to understand. I just found your tutorial and definitely will be following.
This is the first tutorial of yours I’ve watched of yours. You are so relaxing to watch and such a great teacher that I decided to subscribe. Thank you for doing this!
Thank you for this tutorial! Love the block -- this would make a great scrappy quilt by keeping the outside borders of the block the same, for a place for your eye to rest and using scrappy four patches.
I love how you sew another half square triangle. It only takes seconds to do an extra step. I’ve been doing this for a while. Glad to see someone else doing it too!
Thank you! I challenge myself to use as much of the fabric as I can. They are great to use in borders or to make coordinating pillows. How do you use yours?
Hi from Atlanta. I just found you! I am so happy to find a new quilting friend. I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing your videos. Love the way you teach. Like you are just talking with friends. Thank you for doing these videos for us.
Just found your channel!! Love this block. I can't wait for the pattern to be on your etsy. I would definitely purchase this!! Love it. Love the reds and cream colors you used in the video!! Beautiful!! Well done.
Thank you so much for your support, Lena! This pattern is free for you right here. All the measurements are in the description or you can pause the video where the measurements are on screen. I did finish a quilt top using these blocks around a medallion. I may make a pattern of that. If I do, I'll be sure to post it.
Thank you, Avis! I did make a mistake though. It actually finishes 15" (squared to 15-1/2") I hope you can still use it. I had to add sashing to compensate for the missing inch.
When I first viewed this, I thought it looked hard to make. After watching you, it looks a whole lot easier. This is a pretty block. Your quilt and table runner are beautiful. Thank you.
Ha! I'm not crazy! The dx2000qi does not want to jump that bump no matter how I fiddle with the presser foot knob. ,Frankly, I I do 99% of my work on my tl2000. I do love my rotating mats, but I'm a June Tailor slot ruler and block loc girl and they lend themselves to a rotating mat in my opinion. I really enjoyed your video and tutorial style. I've subscribed and look forward to future content. HAPPY QUILTING!
Thank you so much, Caryn! This DX5 has an option to ease the pressure of the presser foot; but, I always forget to use it. Thanks for you input on the rotating mat as well! I'm still on the fence; but, I'm leaning more toward getting one. :D
This block looked so complicated but your tutorial was so thorough - definately going on my list of blocks to try in 2025! Love the secondary pattern with the left over half square triangles ❤
It's a Beautural 1800W from Amazon (not sponsored - ha ha). It's the second one I've purchased. My first one over-temped on me but there was an alarm that let me know. I bought it again for that safety feature; but, I'm not sure it's anything special. Here's a link though a.co/d/hMXLnBX
I have two rotating mats. One is 7" square, the other 17" square. I use the 7" one much more. The 17" one is just too big and in order rotate it, you need a bigger space than what I have.
I didn't even know they made them in the 7" size! That would be perfect. Thank you so much, Ann! Now I know exactly what to look for when they go on sale.

I like to clip or pin so I can get things organized and they stay that way. I have some interrupted sewing times.🥴
That's a great idea, Norma! When I have to walk away form a project for a while. I put all of my pieces in ziplock bags.
