@@pamelamaynecorreia1688 Im from central Alberta, too, and am liking being able to drive safely, but a bit concerned about how warm it is. So I’m keeping calm by making a colour wash quilt (from thrifted fabric) that I first saw Kate make. 😌
I was diagnosed with SAD in my 30s (now 70) so I understand the sentiment of being down as the dark takes over..oddly, there’s been three lots of things happen that has made it better. There is a vlogger named Cecilia who lives on Svalbard, so has polar night from October until March (ish). Last year as the polar night came she talked a lot about what she enjoyed about polar night and it gave me pause, I also noticed that she’d come out on her porch, regardless of the weather and enjoy a cup of coffee. This particularly struck me because in the Summer I sit on my patio at 5-6 a.m. and enjoy a cup of coffee snuggled in a quilt..and decided to not change that schedule other than move from 5 to a more sensible 7 a.m. but loosely sticking to a schedule.. and the last came from you..watching you hand sewing brought a sense of calm. So, I’ve picked two projects for the next three months, one of them EPP quilt just big enough to wrap around my shoulders when the light comes back in the spring. And the other is hand stitching a robe from scraps of cloth.. you made a particular quilt using the method of overlapping material.. I do enjoy your videos, it’s comfy on the virtual green couch!
I found Cecelia Blomdahl on Svalbard as well !!!! Lovely time to reflect and embrace the beautiful diversity this planet holds. Kate, you ARE loved and appreciated for your soothing voice and perseverance to plod on through seemingly endless projects. As far as the bathtub, I recently put an old claw foot tub in my yard for a cold plunge. Perhaps you can find a creative way to use yours too ! Love ya !

What a wonderful day sewing in your cabin. So cozy. Eileen has the best of all worlds for a Spicy little goose. You have to just love her. Thanks for sharing your day Kate. ❤

I can understand Kate, why you do not like the dark evening, as you need good light for your creations - but I LOVE the dark evenings, as I feel all safe and snuggled up in my little house, with my greyhound Madge, with all the curtains pulled shut. It is lovely being with you in your lovely cabin, and I hope that the shower you are having fitted will bring you much joy. Blessings from Jilly & Madge, from West Devon, England. xxx

Hello Kate I found you about 2month. Ago and quilting as never interested me but you are changing my mind but I love to listen to you you have such a relaxing voice and you lift my spirits when I feel down, lovely lovely Kate thank you. Janet
Kate, your hexagon quilt is my favourite of all the quilts I see you making, I love the way the colours flow through it, its a stunningly beautiful quilt.
When I was a girl, our dad took 2 of us kids to a neighbor’s house to drop off a package. •We got there, and the neighbor had 3 fierce guard geese. We didn’t want to leave the package in the driveway, we wanted to put it on the porch, so it would stay dry. •Dad said, “We’ll each pick one goose, and stare at it until it backs off, then I’ll get the package to the porch.” He reminded us not to let our attention wander, or somebody could get hurt. •It worked! Not sure if that would help with Eileen, but it’s good for visitors to have something to try, in case there is ever an unexpected meeting. 🪿P.S. I have never met a silly goose. They were all somewhere between Firm and Intense. 😉
Oh Kate you make so many of us very happy when we see that there is a new video from you (and Anna). Please continue to keep us up to date on your progress with all your projects. I started doing the hexagons while watching tv and I love it, I only have about 100 finished so I do have a long ways to go yet. It’s a good distraction for me. I have two quilts that I’ve been working on as well, when doing them I sit in my sewing room and turn on the utube channel and watch your old post. So thank you so much for allowing us all to sit on your lime green sofa and being a part of. you’re such a sweat and kind lady. 26:31
Indigo curtains for the cabin! That way, open or closed, you’ve got blue skies! My grandma had a whole flock of geese and I have to say you haven’t lived until a flock has had a go at you. I love your videos. They always make me feel a bit better.❤ Then there’s the inspiration!
A bit chilly, so a lovely half hour with you in the sunny cabin, and seeing the garden and Ants fence & Eileen, was a warming pick me up. Your projects are really progressing very nicely🎉. Can't wait to see the finished bathroom. Nite Kate ❤
This video was like a visit from a friend! I cannot believe I was sitting here paper piecing when the notification came. So, I stitched along with you. How lovely. Thanks Kate! I got to sit in your wonderful cabin. ❤
Very nice chair back. When I finish all my Christmas afghans for gifts I’m going to make seat and back out of the paper piecing for the child’s chair that was my granddaughters when she was two. She now has four children who give me crochet orders of what they want and need. Lol
Many, many years ago, I embroidered a stamped cross stitch that ends, “and stitching in front of the fireplace”. During our winters here in northeast Georgia I spend doing that and the long dark days just give me more sewing time. You’ll love your new bathroom. 5-6 yrs ago we renovated our two bathrooms and built walk-in showers with benches and handrails. Best thing we ever did. Enjoy.
These are also my favourite video's as well, they are so relaxing and soothing as is the beautiful music playing in the background. I totally understand what you said about getting out of your head and into your hands, definitely something I need to be currently doing. So thank's Kate for bringing some calm and serenity into my life. xo
Hi Kate lovely video of you and stitching in the cabin! Yes please show us the finished construction and thanks for the remainders of getting out of your head and into your hands and doing what you can when issues arrive ☕️☺️in life
I've just discovered your channel and I'm enjoying stitching along with you. I'm making my first quilt and I've already learned so much. I'm piecing hexagons and I'm so inspired by your work. Thank you for your little oasis of charm and respite. ❤
I am right there with you, we are having our bathroom redone too! I have fallen out of the tub twice now, so we are putting in a standing shower only now. I'm sure your bath room is going to look great!! I am about a 4th of the way done of my quilt top, a hexigon epp. Thanks for all your inspiration!
What a lovely day, Kate! I love seeing your projects, and have learned so very much from watching your video’s. I look forward to seeing more of what’s coming to your garden channel, and I do also enjoy Ant’s channel. Seeing your home, the area of England that you live in, plus your voice and music are all so lovely and calming. I smile when I think of you and your family, and wish you much happiness.
Stitching a little hand painted flower and bird scene while thoroughly enjoying the day in your cabin Kate. I can’t believe it has been a year since I watched Ant creating your fabulous wood quilt wall! Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
I have started making hexies either for a hanging or lap quilt. Making hexies is like eating potato crisps....they are addictive! I have several Trip Around the World quilt tops I made long ago and really need to get them backed and finished. I have knitting and crocheting for my next craft show, plus sewing for myself.....many projects in the pipeline......just like you! Thanks for the inspiration!
Kate, I love visiting with you in your cozy cabin and chatting while you stitch. I also dislike the early darkness (I am in northern Wisconsin, USA), but we can chose that as you say ‘out of head, into hand’…keeping busy with something we enjoy.
Hi Kate, I love your sweet videos! When I started learning to quilt four years ago, I saw English paper piecing I thought, that is just to slow and tedious for me. That is one thing I’ll never do! Well, what do you know, two years after finding your videos I had to try it! EPP really trains me to enjoy the process because if you get to eager to be done you’ll just go crazy. And I do enjoy the process now. I love setting out my little basket and picking up my needle and thread, thanks to you!
Eileen is the most spoiled goose in the Universe😂. I grew up in a small village and have been chased by geese and roosters as a child and as an adult. They are vicious and scary! Your and Ant’s thoughtful solution makes me very happy. Thank you for this lovely video with us! I love the windmill wooden “quilt” in the cabin, remember how Ant made it. We are lucky to have you and your way of bringing peace and quiet grace and happiness into our lives, Kate ❤
Ohmygoodness I know how fierce a goose can be! I have encountered some pretty mean ones. You completed EPP quilt for your granddaughter is beautiful. Love love your Liberty and Plus WIP you have going on. Loved watching you stitch. ❤
I have just received your beautiful calendar and I am so pleased with it. Thankyou also for the surprise enclosure of a piece of your lovely gift wrap. Many Thanks.
Thank you so much Kate for your inspiring videos, what nice and peaceful moments spent with you in your cabin and in your beautiful countryside of Northumberland. Martine from Paris❤
We are putting in a shower and taking out the tub. The work is scheduled for January. At 77 I an anxious for the job to be finished. Enjoy your day and your new shower.
I had a good laugh over Eileen’s goose poop. When we lived on a golf course at one point, the course was visited regularly by Canadian geese. Naturally there there was goose poop which annoyed the golfers to no end. Never did get rid of those birds. 😅😅❤❤
You are such a delight. I'm so glad you are changing out your tub to a walk in type of shower, it will be so much safer for you. 😅 I live in the US, state of Washington. You are such an inspiration to me. I love your little "get away" cabin. The colors you choose for your projects make me want to finish up my own projects.
Wow, that little + shape. That looks so neat. LOL, but you definitely have a lot of patience. Both of your projects there, with tiny pieces. Beautiful work.

The Agnes quilt is my favorite also, Kate. Your use of the different colors is phenomenal!❤
I love sitting with you and chatting. I’m almost finished with my crochet so then I can try the paper piecing.
Enjoy.
Love watching your videos. You are soothing to listen to and I enjoy listening to you talk about your life
The cabin sounds like heaven 😍
No wonder it’s your favourite,it’s a work of art ,the lilac sets it of beautifuly
These are also my favourite video's as well, they are so relaxing and soothing as is the beautiful music playing in the background. I totally understand what you said about getting out of your head and into your hands, definitely something I need to be currently doing. So thank's Kate for bringing some calm and serenity into my life. xo
Agnes’s quilt is awesome! She will treasure it
Hi Kate lovely video of you and stitching in the cabin! Yes please show us the finished construction and thanks for the remainders of getting out of your head and into your hands and doing what you can when issues arrive ☕️☺️in life
You can see it on my other channel The Last Homely Garden xxx
A friend of mine was going to toss over 200 hangers. I grabbed every single one of them! Can’t wait to cover them too!
Stitching a little hand painted flower and bird scene while thoroughly enjoying the day in your cabin Kate. I can’t believe it has been a year since I watched Ant creating your fabulous wood quilt wall! Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
Love Agnes' quilt, again.
Goodmorning Kate I enjoy your show I am always crocheting and your stories are wonderful to listen to 😊
Kate, I love visiting with you in your cozy cabin and chatting while you stitch.
What a perfect little hideaway for you. I am certain you will spend many happy days there.
These are my favorite type of videos……like several years ago.
Ohmygoodness I know how fierce a goose can be! I have encountered some pretty mean ones. You completed EPP quilt for your granddaughter is beautiful. Love love your Liberty and Plus WIP you have going on. Loved watching you stitch. ❤
Thank you lovely Kate ❤
I have just received your beautiful calendar and I am so pleased with it. Thankyou also for the surprise enclosure of a piece of your lovely gift wrap. Many Thanks.
I had a lovely time watching you sew while crocheting a Christmas snowman. One day I hope to do some EPP and your projects look so pretty.
I loved the blue hexagon quilt so much. I made one for my myself,
This video is my favourite type you do it was what drew me to your channel it’s very warming on a cold November Sunday 😊
You are such a delight. I'm so glad you are changing out your tub to a walk in type of shower, it will be so much safer for you. 😅
I live in the US, state of Washington.
I can’t quilt now but I still watch your videos!
What a lucky little girl, Agnes is
