I'm with ya. In NH you cannot tint driver front and passenger front, and it can only be 35%.I used to do NH state inspections for a chain shop and had to fail cars for this tint BS
I tinted windows for a while in my early 20s for good friend. He sadly passed away but i learned alot about tint from him. Definitely have to say you have a great installer there!
I was so hoping to see footage and talk about how he dealt with the rear window including removal with regard to the defrost lines. I was bummed that there was nothing on it. Maybe next one? 😉
There's a good vapor steamer cost $280 Jeffy 120 volt because the one it shows in the video looks more like water hose also is good idea always cover the panels with tape plastic customers likes when you do it.
The car looks great, well done. On a side note be careful with windshield tint, even clear in Florida. An installer I know used to do it until a client got in an accident which wasn’t his fault. The accident investigator saw the film because it had crumbled up due to the windshield cracking and he got a lawsuit against him for “obstruction of view”. People will sue for anything.
"It's more about the installer than the film." I've had probably 15 cars tinted and this is the most important advice in this video. Find the best rated tint guy in your area and stick with him for life if he does a good job. And by good job I mean that the install should be literally perfect, no specs of dust, bubbles, or gaps in the film. My installer cleans every window 7 times (!) before even considering applying the film and he'll clean it up to 10 more times until he's not happy. He also does the installs in a sealed, anti-static room built specifically for tinting. If you show up and they want to do your install outdoors or in a busy shop then just cancel your appointment and find somewhere else. Oh and don't think you have to pay a premium for the best. My installer charges about 30% less than the big chain shops in my area (I tip him the difference though) and his reviews online are perfect while the chain stores have 3 stars or less everywhere.
Nys here. Tint law is ridiculous. 70 percent is the darkest you can get on windshield, front side windows and rear side windows. Back window any darkness. In my chevy colorado I'm running 20% rear side windows and back window. Never got a ticket yet. I had to remove my 20% front side windows though which killed me. I loved it.
Hi Matt I just had my detail at dealership and I was disappointed with the detail. My question is why the paint look like purple and the color on my car is dark gray ? Can you help me out ?thank you LC
That tint fluid everywhere drives me nuts. Most installers don't give a rats ass about your ride and won't even clean up or take precautions when installing. They'll just let fluid run everywhere and they don't give a shit. For this reason I've held off on tint and I live in AZ!! Edit: I should clarify I’m talking about solution all over the interior not exterior.
I work at a dealership, some of these tint guys give no fuck to all the water/soap mixture they leave all over the door panel. I've seen some finish the job and couldn't be bothered to wipe off the panel. Not all are like that tho. And I won't tint my rsx type s cause I'm just crazy about oem plus rn lol
@@tunertime9554 - yep I"m all too familiar how stealerships tint cars. The Honda dealer near me tints ALL Hondas that come in, every single one, so you can only imagine how disastrous the tint job is. So when I bought my 15 Si I told them when it comes in...DO NOT TOUCH IT....no tint, no bullshit accessories and definitely no wash. My brother bought a Civic Ex that was in stock and already gone through the dealers "detail" process...there was tint solution stains everywhere, including inside the speaker grills on the doors. He's not as OCD as me and doesn't care but I was crying inside lol. BTW I'm all about OEM + as well, have been for many years.
I’m a window tinter in Southern California and IMO any tinter that doesn’t take door panels off and cover everything with a towel isn’t doing it right. Some people don’t like that we take the panels off but after doing it for awhile it’s so easy and the chance of breaking something is zero to none. I’m sure you can find yourself a shop that cares about your vehicle! Honda’s are actually some of the easiest door panels to remove there is no way they can mess it up lol
John Mylonas 70% is what they used. It lets 70% of light through. I have 40% on my windshield. It’s dark, but I’ve seen as dark as 20% on windshields in person.
I want to remove my tint - got quoted $90 - feel thats too cheap to be a good job! So I'm in the weird position of trying to find someone more expensive!
Matt if you remove that vtec sticker. so help me god
But you are God?
S.o.s.
Swing on sight
Exactly
Cops should worry less about tint and more about left lane drivers.

Jason Ricci I live in nh aswell would I get pulled over for 20% all around
The little speed up and music at 6:30 were phenomenal... all in the details
You have a top notch tint guy there, he's extremely passionate about this industry and a perfect fit to guest on your channel! Great work!! 🙌
What shade of tint is on matts civic i might of missed what they said
kia bass 879 15%
Do. Not. Touch. The. VTEC. Stickers.
UP!
I can vouch for this comment if its not too late.
Leave the Vtec sticker on. :)
Thumbs up! Haha
The sticker adds +50hp
@@daarionaharis3675 literally the vtec does though 😂👍

We got a "Dang it!" real early this episode 😁👍

The VTEC stickers are essential.
Taking them off is similar to removing the Hellcats off a Hellcat.
Martin was my trainer at tinting school in Florida he was nice guy .. 🌹🌹
Didn't know Matt Serra could also do window tinting. Super-versatile guy.
That tinter lifts, bro
lol I'm sure he has "special" help.
Definitely has help. Got roid gut
If you pull off the vtec stickers I will unsubscribe!!! Who’s with me???!!
@John Mitchell noooo its still going to be an Si, if it makes 200HP or 500HP.
Didn’t know Johnny Sins did tinting
Zugga868 😂
man of many talents
Doctor, fireman, tinter, and the list goes on.
Jack of all trades
You beat me to it.
Digging the new music during the sped up spots. You’re throwing out content like a mad man. Keep it up brother.
Martin did my windshield and he is a stand up guy, i refer him all the time to people.
Never even crossed my mind to tint the front windshield!
This guys oozes professional.
I was so hoping to see footage and talk about how he dealt with the rear window including removal with regard to the defrost lines. I was bummed that there was nothing on it. Maybe next one? 😉
I have the windshield tint on all my cars, well worth it

The EBP EMI w/ dark tint is to die for
Timestamp 14:15 😂🤣😂🤣, that was my face too hahaha. #goals for real lol

^Found that guy, who is that guy, that talks up a guy, to prove video guy wrong. Cool story bro

Get it tinted again; whenever I see a cop anymore I just drop my front windows rain or shine 🤣
Long Island trooper ticketed me $60 PER window. I've been rocking 20 and 5% in the rear in Tampa, FL --- I sware cop cruisers have darker tint than I
this is Florida we do not participate in winter
Excellent edit
Hey Matt I bet you can't find a prelude with the same color as the civic and about around the same mileage.
Oh...when is the tire dressing going live?????
I'd leave the Dohc Vtec stickers. I know its not much but without the badges and a few other parts it just looks like a ex or dx.
Could he steam the window from the outside keeping the water outside and still relax the glue?
This guy is a beast
I got pulled over in Virginia for 20% film on my truck and that trooper damn near arrested my ass lol.
Wish Prime XR Plus was more available in Australia. Only found 1-2 installers and none are near me 😔
Nice one Matt! Keep it up
Looks great!
Why can't you rotate the tires on the gt3?
I've seen lot of detailers applying Meguiar's yellow carnauba wax on top of a 3M cream wax. Does that make sense?
Did you get 4 sets of te37 og in bronze and 1 set of rega’s
Can we see the dent removal process ?
In home depo sells a painter's plastic tape l use it to cover the panels the way you won't wet and it's. More professional
Can Marty recommend someone in souther California to do tinting of my cars? I don't trust the locals in the Pomona area.
Tint is way too dark for my liking and why would you take off the OEM vtec decals.. Installer dude is legit though.
Have you tried Carpro's Trix yet?
Hi Matt I just had my detail at dealership and I was disappointed with the detail. My question is why the paint look like purple and the color on my car is dark gray ? Can you help me out ?thank you LC
Instructions were unclear, so instead of detailing it they just resprayed it in purple.

I’m confused . The front windshield is 70%? some would say 30% or no? Or is 70 so light that one can not detect the tint?

For the car? Electron Blue Pearl. Code: B-95P
Holyshit where the hell did you find an old Civic SI

I thought you can’t tint a moonroof?
You can get pulled over for tint in Florida?
Are you giving this car away?
Yep
Jiffy vapor steamer
Should have named his company, Uncle Festers Window Tinting.
Only you would order 5 sets of wheels 😆
Big like !
Loooks waaaaaaaay better
15% tint is just too dark for my taste but good work and detail.
Black roof liner?
Water soaked dash 😥
Sell me those leather seats when you remove them.
I wouldn't put a tint on that car. Keep it clean.
bring back the new film style
