Thank you again for taking the time to help some of us remember good times. One day if god gives me life, I will try to get my self again into another beauty 2000 Honda Si! Good Bless YOU!

Please don’t paint the carbon hood. It’s crazy you mention Godspeed I remember him too. I had a cf hood on my silver 2000 Celica GTS 6 speed which was my first new car while at the end of college.
Obsessed Garage not boring it’s passion. I was same way when selling cars especially at BMW and Porsche. I studied everything on the cars and knew the options on every car I inside and out. I even knew most of the prices even though it changed every year and even updated throughout year.
The dedication and respect you have for this civic is insane. I see so many riced out or abused civics on the road, but this is so well done. I dream of being able to financially and technically achieve this. Im beyond impressed dude. Fingers crossed for the giveaway
In 2000, I was 18 and this was my dream car and build. It's gorgeous and has been a blast to follow the progress. Front to back, it is perfect! Inspiring and motivating, thanks for your efforts, Matt!

See, the problem with giving this car away, and its a dream of mine to own a car like this, is security.. Someone like me, who lives in an apartment complex, I would have to go out and pay for public storage at the very least as I do not have a garage. I would likely be targeted as well. If I won this car, I wouldnt tell anyone, and I might have to consider wrapping it or doing something to make it less noticeable for someone like me living close to the hood in Philly. Maybe Id consider stashing it up the Pocono's near my Vacation house and just drive it up there when Im on vacation.. Would def have to consider a ton of things. A car like this would be a bigger target than a Super car in my opinion. At least here where I live.

As old OG honda boy from the 90's I freaking love this built. The car is badass and there is no such thing as overdone , everything you did is what I what have done back in the day. Can't wait to see the ITR motor in the car.
I love this car. It puts a big smile on my face just seeing it. I almost bought one in this color. It was last one at the dealership in 2000. I regretted not getting it. I ended up buying a 2001 ex sedan. I will be trying to win this.
If you paint the underside of the hood, you should paint it the same blue as the rest of the car. Leave the outside raw carbon but paint the underside to match the blue.
Matt I doubt you will see this comment but they do make an adapter set so you can add center caps to those particular TE37's. Just thought I would pass the info along. This is by far the best representation of what is possible with the em1. I do wish you were adding a JRSC or something of the sort but this build is awesome regardless!
Your videos are incredible. I love your attention to detail and it would be amazing to work with you and learn everything the way you do it. There aren't many people nowadays that build cars with your attention to detail. Thank you for giving us a glimpse into your world!
I've been lucky enough to travel to FL and meet John at LHT. He's fantastic and this build is legendary!! To say this is great work is an understatement.
Definitely what I imagine when I think about the dream Honda Civic. You’re doing an amazing job and hopefully one day I’m able to build something close to this. I currently have a White coupe but it’s nothing close to this
I can't wait for the give away... What a dream come true this would be. I had the Electron Blue 00 and unfortunately stolen twice while living in Miami, FL. Had Volks, Sparco Seats, Greddy Evo and a few other bolt ons. I think I would still have it if not for the total loss. The first time it was stolen, I lost the wheels and seats and then when it was stolen a second time, they took it all... Engine, Transmission, fenders, you name it :( Love the videos Matt, thank you for everything that you are doing. I hope who ever wins it appreciates the nostalgia, thought, love and detail that you have put into it.
Two suggestions although you already discarded the first one... 1. ITR or GSR subframe and steering rack. 2. Since you are getting the JDM ITR Swap you could consider performing a 5 lug swap and using the 36mm axles. To go with this and keep making it the most expensive Si you would get a) new wheel 15, 16 or 17 wheels b) as a bonus you get the 11.1 front and 10.2 rear brakes. To give this a special touch, I would upgrade the brakes once again to 11.8in RSX-S brakes in the front using new rsxs rotors, whichever spoon caliper kit comes for the Rsxs and new rsx-s front wheel hubs and bearings. I had this set up in the past along with the ITR 1in brake booster and mc which was awesome. Ok enough , i know it is too late to suggest this, but worth a try if you are tempted. Love the build, keep it up.
Man..I owned this same car in 2001...damn I miss my em1..I acquired my em1 because I bought a 2001 em2, it was stolen and crashed after I put 4000 miles on the od..the insurance check was for 16500.. I was able to find the car I wanted in the first place used for sale with 40000 miles..99 Honda civic Si electron blue..man the memories I had in this car...it was ultimately stolen as well, and recovered..put 10000 into it, had it for a few more years and blew the engine..sold the shell...Ill never forget the memories I had in that car..especially in the 2000s you were the man with this car...
That stereo shop truly bent you over. My very first car was a 97 civic and I'm a huge car audio enthusiast so I know how extremely easy it is to work on these cars. I can't believe they charged you that much thats insane.

Love what you have done with the car and kept it stockish makes me think back when this car came out i always wanted one but never got the chance to own one but great job this is a car that should be babied for years to come
Keep in mind the cutoff-line of JDM headlights is made for driving on the opposite side of the road. That means the elevated portion of the cutoff will be on the traffic side instead of the shoulder side. You may notice less visibility of road signs at night, as well as oncoming traffic sometimes flashing you with their brights (cause they think yours is on). Probably not a problem these days since everyone else is driving SUVs and trucks.
You don't need to change the whole rack and pinion to get a better ratio! Just change the pinion. Get one for an integra and have them put it in when the engine is out. I've heard the 97 itr pinion gives the best ratio but I'm not 100% certain whether that's true or not. I DO know the integra pinion will give a better ratio than stock though. Love these videos and look forward to seeing more 👍

The master cylinder upgrade will really help brake feel assuming it’s got a larger take-up cylinder at least. Huge difference on my 128i when I put in larger calipers and upgraded to the 135i master cylinder. Sounds like that’s the only real weakness about the car that you mention.

IDK if you know this or care but these cars all have a (recent) drivers airbag recall that is a "check and replace if needed". It might be smart to have it done before you take it off and leave the car with an open recall on the carfax..if it matters. Maybe the FL Honda Bros @AHCgarage can make a video about it..
I got a letter since March from Honda about that recall, they were suppose to send another letter confirming that the part was delivered to the dealership so i can come in and get it replaced. Im still waiting for that. Anyhow my EK is is stored for the winter.
@@JDMEXforme I got that same letter and it said there were not parts available and the 2nd notice would be when parts were available. I got that 2nd notice last week but it also says they may or may not actually replace the inflator depending but they need to inspect the current inflator to determine. Making the appointment at the dealer they will confirm they have a part available for you if you end up needing it.
im going to miss you calling us little honda bros

Is George not going to touch this car? I just noticed that you always say 'John' instead of 'LHT'. In any case, SHOUT OUT TO GEORGE.
Ha, ha... Yeah, George is the real star.
You're living what everyone dreams doing one day, going all out.
I miss seeing these on the road all the time...
This car is BEAUTIFUL!🥲
Im in love with this Em1, i've been seeing this car for quite awhile on your videos, you have a nice taste in mods, I really hope I win this mint car!
I live in the UK, is your Comp open to me? If so, i would care for this little beauty. Ive previously owned two EK4, one was the Jordan. This car is a little beauty, nice work.
Seeing this build just makes me glad my GSR isn’t perfect. I would be so worried driving the EK around here in Florida.
I owned a 2000 Si. I bough it brand new, I wait like 2 months. I owned until 2011 I drove it every where putting 135K miles until I sold it for 8K to a Acura tech. Now I would love to get one like the want you are playing to give it away. So what do I need to buy or do to get into the give away? Thanks.
Dude, this is THE DREAM CIVIC SI 🤩
My dads friend has a purple one that is in amazing condition and the same spec to and its a si too
im 19 now with a 2020 civic si coupe ... and i still jam A Tribe Called Quest lol
Honestly I wouldn’t give away this car, reason being civics always get stolen and it is rare to see one in this great of condition.
It's coming out amazing! Maybe one day, she'll come back home to Minnesota to join her sister that I own!
Get tommy to talk about this more I forgot about it and im so happy I have alot of content to watch
How do we sign up for the give away?
@@B95_P oh ok thanks.
Little Honda bro checking in
How about painting the underside of the hood electron blue pearl?
It's ironic how I had the same interest in 1999-2000 but couldn't afford to buy parts. This would be a weekend car for me when I win this gem🙏😉
Em1 goals my friend. If I win it don't worry about a thing I'll treat her good.
this really is a great build and story
Little Honda Bro here. - Thank you
Man I can’t wait to see The Lht videos..... sitting on the edge of my chair.
