    Mike at "The Dent Company" is an absolute class act person in general and icing on the cake he just happens to be the best PDR tech in Tampa! No question. He's repaired dents in my wife's E Class, my Ferrari, and I need to bring him my truck! It's fun to OCD people like us to watch him work in person. I'm glad to see him here on the channel!

    I’ve had the pleasure of watching a good PDR guy (not quite Mike’s level) remove dents for hours and hours. It’s something I wish I could do but the level of patience, skill, and time required is not something I could do. I can spend 40 hours wetsanding, compounding, and polishing a car, but having to spend 8 hours on a decent sized dent would drive me to insanity. Big ups to PDR technicians who’ve invested so much time perfecting their craft.

    Why is the video so dark and grainy?

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      It's dark because Mike wanted it darker to show the dents easier, especially better for seeing on the camera. Grain will be present when shooting higher ISO to compensate for low light, you also have to realize the RED camera is running a CPL to minimize reflections on the car, a CPL will darken the footage so higher ISO is also needed for that. A lot of stuff goes into this process to make it better. We can remove noise in post but you have to compromise each way for a perfect balance.
      That's why it's dark and grainy.

    The difference between a guy like this and someone you can find on google is IMMENSE. Be careful with PDR - I had a guy close to this level who did all my work on my 135i- one day he wasn’t around and I got impatient with a dent and took it to some guy I found on google with “5 star reviews” he’s good right? He drilled a hole against my request not to and he destroyed the panel by making the area so waved/destroying the clear. The car ended in a body shop anyway and I got rid of it. Since, I exhaustively research a company if I need dent repair in Colorado. I know who to go to when I go back to florida now, but this gentleman isn’t common, they are rare- you have to do your due diligence to sniff out the hacks
