You're the best, Matt. I really respect your dedication to this channel and addressing your mental health. I too struggle with anxiety and depression and it's nice to know that I'm not alone. Thank you, Matt. Keep doing what you do. Edit - This Civic is just beautiful and what all of us Honda boys who started driving in the 90's wished we could have. It's perfection.
This is the cleanest Honda I have ever seen! I am happy Matt got to do something most will never do! Live there childhood dream on building out that one car they never let go of!!
Very relaxing video. I’m just sitting back to some macchiato and watching you do what I love to do. This is definitely therapy to me. Actually really happy I found the channel man, good luck on the new house. I’m hoping to do the same this year. In my 40’s now, suddenly realize how fast things move. LOVE the Home theatre idea!! That’s my dream
I really love the comment that you made. “ I realized there’s some value in what I’m doing and want to make a reasonable margin“ No reason to be in business and give stuff away! That’s called a charity. Keep up the good work!
It seems that the chair is going to hit the paint every time you get closer to the car (drying the door jambs for example).Confortable but a little risky I think. I'm not a Honda guy but I like cars and that's a damn good looking Civic Matt, thank you!
43:48 oh wow that foot rest on the stool is way too big! It got sooo close to scraping up against the quarter panel door jamb! I’m not sure I would risk using that stool that close to the car again.
The detailing product talk was spot on! And gosh the way the water just slides off the car 😳. I wish I could win this I love Honda. I’m 19 and I’ve had 2 my recent one got stolen:( . This cars perfect
One of my go to products is meguiars hybrid ceramic wax. I find it being the longest lasting spray product I've used. I use it on unprotected customers cars to save time but still giving way more protection than beadmaker or most other traditional paint sealants. It doesn't have great slickness but I use either beadmaker or their detailer to deal with it. I don't like using big name consumer brands but I haven't found anything better from a pure longevity and hydrophobic performance.
Man i miss my civic em1 now,the day i scrapped it my 11 year old son cried,he loved that car i had it for 13 years, wish i kept it and did a b18 swap, but due to work commitment i had no time to run in and out of garage.😥😏
Hey Matt, I was thinking earlier today hadn’t heard anything from OG in a while then Bam A wash and talk is always a welcome thing. Always interested in anything home theater related looking forward to what you do in your new home and I’m sure you heard but just in case Panasonic oleds are now available officially in the US value electronics have made a deal to be able to sell them just thought that might interest you anyways glad you had some time for yourself enjoy the videos have a good one.
I went and bought one of the regular Vyper chairs after seeing that stool in the video. I agree that the footrest seems a bit large for the stool... I hope they make a version that's a bit smaller. BTW, I also own a Tesla Model 3 Performance and a 991.2 Porsche.and I agree the EV is a nerd car. Look forward to seeing how you de-nerd the thing.
I’m getting ready to put our house on the market also, and more than one person in real estate has advised me not to spend a bunch of money on things that the next person is likely to change anyway. They said to make repairs like painting the exterior, or replacing the roof. Things that might detract from the selling price. But I thought about painting cabinets and replacing countertops, and they said to not waste my money on it. Do things that will make the house sell easier, but that’s it. If the house is already under contract, then spending a bunch of time and money fixing stuff is a total waste.
I tried 2 oz in the bucket and did not think it was enough. 3 oz imo works great. Edit: haha i saw a single sided Gauntlet on a Chinese site. It had the mesh type material on one side like other similar towels.
Low, wheeled chairs help, but I'm beginning to think if I had a detail shop, I'd have a QuickJack or even a built-in ramped platform to elevate clients' sports cars. Doing my S2000 right now, and working the lower fenders and doors with comparable, even pressure to the leverage and control I have up top necessitates laying on my side. Doing a proper touchup and correction on the front bumper cover is going to require removal (need to replace grill clip anyway). If this was a job and I had to pick a part of it that would eventually ruin your joints like playing football, it's polishing at weird angles and extensions, instead of bringing the work closer to your zone of leverage.
Great content as always. Do you consider putting a list of products you use when detailing/washing? I know you say it throughout the video, but a link would be helpful.
Hydes Rust Stopper seems to be unavailable in UK now. Not sure if it still going in USA? I recomend Bilt Hamber Atom Mac as an alternative if facing supply issues
Yep, Atom Mac is great. Keeps my brakes amazingly nice-looking. Had a lease on a car for 3 years and it ran out in nov 2020. They commented on how especially nice the car looked. Here in Norway this model was very prone to rusty brakes , but mine looked like new. I apply a few sprays throughout the winter and when it rains/snows, not just when I wash it.
man i need to win this car. love it. got to enter as i need supplies for my cars anyway,. my brother dialed in his house before he sold it. same reasons as you. ill keep that in mind when i sell my house. no time soon as i just moved in. now i need this blue civic with high revving engine and sick manual in my driveway lol.
Matt, Can you provide me with the parts/details to install a ceiling mount/appratus that swivels 360 degrees around the vehicle as shown in this video. With thanks
@@timkinley1779 Thanks Tim. Could you kindly provide what parts (inclusively) that I would need to complete a full set up using the boom pole with a krenzle system mounted on a wall. Because I'm going with a boom pole I don't need a hose reel. With Thanks
Hey there - love your channel and love the stuff I ordered from your shop recently. Curious if you have a video on how to remove swirls? Is it necessary to decon the car and strip of all wax or can I apply something over? Thanks!
For bucket washing, I like Hyperwash better than Adam's. Around an ounce and fill with water (5 gallon bucket). 1/2 ounce if using only one-bucket method.
Yeah it’s worth it if your in the market for a nice ph neutral shampoo. You don’t need a foam cannon - you can use it in a bucket or bubble bath and don’t forget your collinite 845 rubber ducky. It’s better than hyper-wash.
Congrats on the Tesla. You might want to rethink your stance on where you choose to get any bodywork done though since independent shops have to be Tesla certified in order to obtain parts from them and I’ve heard it isn’t the easiest thing to become certified.
Looking forward to seeing the Tesla. Although i’m not a big fan of modding Tesla’s I know you don’t do “janky”. I think it will become your favorite car. I’ve owned a non-performance Model 3 for almost two years and I still go to the garage just to look at it. After a while you and your wife will fight over it so you will get have to order another one.

I really hope I win that thing! Just needs the hood painted to match and the windshield tint removed (state law issue where I am) and it will be perfect!
"De-nerding" the Tesla is now the project I'll be looking forward to the most.

We have stools with smaller diameter rails! Also, we're adding protective wrap to the backrest and the foot rail as we speak :)

Adding more H2O wouldn't necessarily change the ph. It would give you a more accurate ph to measure.
A cool series: you testing off the shelf products from autozone.
If you didn’t coat trim, what would you use?
Have you tried the double twistress towel? It’s basically a larger version of those orange towels.
Coating is the way to go. Other products just don't last. If you are worried about getting it on the paint you can tape it off first.

Yeap, you've gotta polish it. Which means you've got to do the prep before polishing as well, to do it properly.
