All human beings should have basic human rights protected by their citizens. No matter what political spectrum you are on. We dedicate this to all immigrants seeking those freedoms, including Cubans.

That's why we need to pay close attention to people running for president and others for holding office. Government is not for the everyday Joe. I don't care if there rich or poor they serve the rights of the people first.

7:45 America is called a melting pot, because all the different cultures melted down and became American.
The problem in the modern day, that people have with certain immigrants, Is they want to come here and keep the culture they have from their country.
This causes people to feel identification with the country and culture they came from, instead of unifying, into all being Americans.
The irish, the Italians these groups were once hated in the United States, and now are not seen as anything other than pure Americans.
These groups had the same dream and anyone that shares the American dream, can be American.
But if you come here, for free handouts, and want to live as if you were still in the country you came from. Then you don't have the American dream. You're just looking for an easier time , than you were previously having.
This is why Americans love Cubans!
You have hard-working people, who know how to fix everything, and they improve any neighborhood they move into.
You can always tell which house belongs to the Cuban family on the block, because it's always the most beautiful from the outside. Perfect grass, perfect plants, flowers ect.
Cubans that immigrate to the United States, also share the identical History of the United states. They're throwing off the shackles of tyranny, in pursuit of Liberty..... You cannot get more American than that.

You said it. My sister, my brother, and I all joined the Army and Marine Corp. for the same reason except we are not immigrants. However, Yoel said it best that the US is made up of immigrants; and, we should want their freedom as much as our own. There are some I’ve met that look down their noses at people who serve in this country’s defense feeling superior to them. Without those who do serve, I dare say their freedom would not exist and I’m wondering if they would feel so superior and smug if that were the case.

Like someone on here said, we take our freedoms for granted & forget that this democracy was built on the backbones of our ancestors who came to this country seeking freedom from poverty, oppression & human injustices. You’re right, there should be. The problem is that neither party (the big 2) have any interest in really fixing it. Both the D’s & the R’s use it to garner political support. Still, no matter how you reform or streamline the process, immigration needs to be controlled. People immigrating into this country need to time to assimilate to the culture and establish themselves before the next wave is processed. This is what keeps a country and society healthy. Moreover, there’s no nation or state - historically speaking, that has survived endless waves of immigration.

Immigration is a tough process but theres a difference btwn immigrating from central and south america the carribeans europe etc vs Immigration/refugee status from cuba.. so in total honesty refugee status is a very long process yes but thanks to their communist countries they can claim refugee status vs asylum from an opressed country.. but i agree immigration in america needs to be overhauled and less complicated

It really is easy for anyone born here to take everything for granted. Sure America is still going through a lot but nothing like what's happening in Cuba and other countries around the world. Seeing Yoel's face lit up watching fireworks was downright magical. My dad is an immigrant from Mexico and he's worked hard for a long time to provide the life for his kids that he never had. Welcome to America, Yoel. I hope you'll have the same freedoms in Cuba someday. ❤

I wish you and yours the very best and hope you have a long lifetime of fun and happiness in the states!

The biggest issue I think people miss or conflate is when we say legal immigration (like a work visa, green card, marriage and naturalization). We want everyone we can get that believe in our countries values, our culture and can help build our economy! I am third generation American btw haha
P.S. We need more people like y’all (1st hand accounts) spreading this message of how dangerous socialism/communism truly is

He is absolutely right, on all accounts! Also, for future videos it would be interesting to see Yoel react to something like Hamilton, that tells the story of one our founding fathers who was also an immigrant like himself. @Doug Sawyer if two opposing sides spend all their time attacking eachother and expecting things to change aren't they BOTH at fault when no progress is made? You know the definition of insanity? You seem pissed off at the entire world but clearly aren't willing to comprmise or at the very least listen. This country wasn't made great based off of one sides ideas and that one side only. This country was made great based off of the fundamental value that one side isn't in complete control over the majority of people. To share and mix ideas for the betterment of the American PEOPLE. Not for your own selfish gains and values. It doesn't have to be THIS or THAT only. Seems like both sides are fine with the country burning to the ground as long as they can keep arguing with eachother like morons.

As American born citizen, I have always appreciated , (and yes took for granted), the freedoms our constitution gives us. I always applauded immigration to this country and was in aw of what the legal steps were to become a citizen. New citizens from other countries really had earn their ticket in. So....until recently, I was comfortable with the system........and I've seen a threat to our freedoms these past couple years and I'm p*ssed off big time. Your presenting what Yoel's first time experiences brings it all home as to just how important preserving this country's way of life is. Illegal immigration and giving them a free ticket paid for by real citizens is a nasty slap in the face of those who worked hard to gain their citizenship. Thank you and keep it up.

I must say, it is not that we don’t have sympathy for the people who are trying to get into the country. We do. But there has to be a controlled way to go about it, not just illegally sneaking in and breaking the law. And now, with the global pandemic, it is a very dangerous situation. These people come with nothing, not even identification. There has to be a proper way to process all these people.

China has about 9.6 million sq kms and 1.4 billion people. The US has 9.8 million sq kms and 330 million people.

This type of thinking is anti immigrant and flawed. Do you realize right now without immigrants the U.S. would be losing population? We simply don't reproduce enough to keep up with our deaths. That means if we didn't have immigrants our country would be shrinking. Let people come here that want to work and live free. We have plenty of room. Don't act like every person in the world wants to come here either. Sure lots of people do, but there are plenty of other countries with just as good if not better quality of life than the U.S. Yes we are very lucky you live here. Im sure many in China, France, Sweden, Canada, Australia ect. Wouldn't trade their quality of life for ours though.

@@g-urts5518 no, existing Americans are the backbone of our country. Those that have been here for generations, raised families, built communities, fought in wars, and believe in the constitution and stand for the flag. That’s our backbone, don’t get it twisted. Ideally, immigrants who want to be here and would be proud to be America should be welcomed. However we have to many immigrants who come here, hate the country and the people, and take the money and run. As for your brilliant idea of inundating less populated areas, it would fail miserably due to the resources needed and the local infrastructure. In the past 20 years or so, America has become Cuba when it comes to freedom of protest and opinions. On paper, it still says that people are “free”, but in practice the government turns a blind eye to destructive “protests” when they have the correct opinion (blm), but then crack down immiediately on protests when they have the wrong opinion (republican). At least Cuba has the decency to openly state that such opinions/protests are illegal. What we have instead is anarcho-tyranny (government selectively applying law). As this continues, America will become like Cuba in more and more ways.

    • @jdanon203

Our last president had a bunch of protesters gassed to clear them out for a photo op in which he held a bible upside down in front of a church. I mean people in this country need to wake up. We're already there. Add in laws that will keep making it harder and harder to vote to change things, and we're pretty much on a path that will lead to a violent end of the country if not by the end of your life, then certainly during your kids' lifetimes. At this point I am merely hoping the dissolution of the U.S. can be done peacefully and everyone can then be happy and get what they want in the end.
