It's heartwarming to see ... him talking about liberty, freedom, and a better life. The one thing I can't help but think is that if everyone comes to the US for those things, they will never exist in their home country.
Freedom isn't free. It requires a lot of courage, blood, sweat, and tears from the people.
They must seize it from those in power who live off the backs of the people

My father’s family is from Pinar del Rio. I was born here and had everything… had all the video games you could have… I don’t really know how to describe how these videos make me feel… like an alternate timeline… knowing how life would have been if not for the great USA. Even hearing countless stories of communist Cuba growing up, even seeing how we send basic items to people there, these videos make it real on another level. God bless you for posting these videos.

This brought tears to my eyes watching his reactions to his first real Christmas... as American's most of us don't think twice about the holidays because we were born celebrating Christmas and gift-giving is a normal thing... but we still have the very poor who have nothing to give and can't even afford to eat on Christmas. We have charitable organizations like Salvation Army that take donations and use the money to create care packages for the poor during the holidays... Toys for Tots accepts toys and donations to make sure children born into circumstances where they won't get any gifts at Christmas will have something to open on Christmas morning. You and Yoel live in a very nice home, you have money coming in and a means to make money. So many others don't even have that. I'm happy to see Yoel has found someone that loves him enough to make his life so much better. God Bless and Merry Christmas.

I (along with my 2 children) was stationed at NAS Gitmo Bay, Cuba (1990-1992).
There were only a handful of Cuba people that came threw the gate to work on the base.
One gentleman worked Public Works & when he retired from the base … he was allowed to go buy things (a lot of baby stuff for his family) from the base NEX to bring it threw the gate to the Cuban Side.
He even bought things for the Cuban Gate Guards.
Let me say from my experience…the Cuban People are beautiful hearted people!

Just read 1984 for the first time ever a month ago as a Vietnamese immigrant. I have no words to describe how I felt…. So much tears and revelations. They don’t tell you nothing… it’s just so shocking to see your oppression spelt out and even more shocking to understand just how shielded from reality I was… I’m crying right now seeing Yoel in a free country, free to read this book. I send only love and courage to one that is brave and free!

This was so touching, to see Yoel's reaction to his first Christmas gifts after this year feels like seeing an old friend, or even a family member enjoy Christmas again! Maybe that's what it means to be brothers in Christ. To see the goodness of people's gifts to him, and even to needy immigrants is so heartwarming. Welcome to our country! This was my husband first Christmas in canada. He was a political prisoner in cuba so to be free and home with family in a free country with our 2 boys It was really special he was overwhelmed my family went all out, he also didn't have anything in Cuba. Really puts in perspective for us how fortunate we are. My kids got their wish the only thing they asked for and their request from Santa was that they didn't want presents they just wanted their dad home. The opportunities our boys have is not lost on them. I'm so happy for your family. ❤

I saw that huge smile on his face when he found he had a Play Station 4. We as Americans really need to fight a lot hard to preserve our freedoms. i never really thought about it. Many years ago, when I was 20 years old I married a man from the Middle East. It never occurred to me that many things were new for him. I think he had been in the country about a year. we bought our first car; a used Delta 88. Gorgeous car. within a few years we bought a new Chevy Impala. When you have to struggle a little and wait, you value that item much more.

In reference to the biblical passage, Matthew 7:11, which states, "If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!", I recall when my son asked for a pair of cowboy boots. Upon this, I decided to purchase a pair of Camen Lucchese boots. To this day, he maintains them in excellent condition, showcasing the enduring nature of love and care for others. ❤

His wish that the people of Cuba could experience a fraction of what we take for granted and the emotion he displays makes me both grateful and ashamed.
