- Yoel and Mari, Cubans go to an American football game for the first time EVER. Football is about as American as apple pie and bald eagles and thanks to one of our subscribers, Mark, we were able to go to a USC college game. Watch us go from tailgate to the field and experience for the first time this essential American sport.
Yoel is a recent Cuban immigrant and Mari is Cuban-American who just never went to a football game before.

Hey, Yoel and Mari. Remember, that same thing was happening in a thousand other locations that have colleges and universities throughout the US. Everyone who enjoys sports knows that, win or lose, we play again next week! I'm so happy that you got to experience it.
And at all levels - even children who get to have mini versions of this. Its really beautiful to see. I didn't react to Yoel watching my niece go to her first softball game (shes 8 years old) and he almost cried seeing the little girls with their uniforms and bats. Simple things.

Know what would make Yoel feel like he's on another planet? A hockey game. That would be like "What kind of sport is this?! Why is it so cold? How are they moving?? Skates???? Are they playing on ice?! THEY'RE ALLOWED TO FIGHT?!?" hahaha. He'd love it!

I grew up in Detroit where the Red Wings were our royal family. He'll get it- it's basically passionate soccer on ice.

@@YoelAndMari lol Cubans aren't aliens, but some of my family from the Caribbean felt like hockey was from another universe when I took them to a game hahaha. The Arena staff was super nice too, and did a "lets welcome our guests from Trinidad & Tobago" announcement and put them on the scoreboard screen. It was a blast :)

Love it. I absoluetly love to see Yoel expirence all the things we take for granted. It was drilled into me that I knew my family history, and where we came from so that I myself never take for granted what my grandfather and father worked so hard for. I am the grandson of a welch, scotchs/Irish Imigrant. My grandfather did everything he could when he got to America. Worked at Hoover dam, helped build skyscrapers as an ironworker... He worked his fingers to the bone for the American dream. My dad served his country in the Vietnam era, and witnessed the Cuban Missle Crsis first hand... It was bred into me to never take for granted the things my ancestors dreamed of... They didn't just dream it for themselves, they dreamed it for generations to come. They dreamed it for me... Yoel, thank you so much for just being the best you that you can be. God bless you Me amigo, welcome home :)

I am HONORED to have gotten the love reaction and response from Yoel and Mari for my original plain, boring comment to the dropping of this video. It's Thanksgiving today here in Canada (we celebrate it a bit earlier up here) and I am thankful to have discovered Yoel and Mari and this wonderful channel this year. I just love seeing all these things through Yoel's eyes, things that are just regular for me. And he got full experience, tailgating and all. And got to go fieldside, I mean I am jealous. Keep showing more.
Since both soccer and baseball are popular in Cuba, it might be time to consider either a professional soccer or baseball game here in the US as your next sports experience. Also, I don't know if you are interested in this but it would be quite an "American" thing to do - a trip to a shooting range.
It takes something as simple as watching someone from a less fortunate country experience for the very first time what we take for granted every day for us to truly appreciate all that we have - and how inconsequential our "problems" really are. Your trips to local grocery stores really made me thankful for all I have. Thank you both for sharing and keep up the great content!

There were no losers that day. Yoel discovered that it's the experiences - the camaraderie of fellow fans and familia that makes a great sports experience. Especially if you don't know the sport or whom to root for. I'm guessing that Yoel had a good time and was just observing things...soaking it all in. You can'r absorb America in one day. It's a lifetime.

i feel the same way about night clubs in Miami. It don't matter if you spend all your money there and can't afford it anymore and have to quit going after going there for 2 years it was a party and it was so much fun so enjoy it while you can. lol
And now for the best news of all...... Cuba still has 11 million more wonderful people, just like Yoel and Mari. I would love to have every single one of them move here. It would be a big win for us... and for them. Everybody wins!

I am American.. and have always enjoyed watching many sports on tv.. never had I went to a game..until one day...when I was in my 30s.. took me to a Seattle seahawks game.. going to a game is above and beyond anything that's televised.. and totally worth it.. was an amazing experience for me..now I understand why soooo many people buy and forever hold on to season tickets..and repeatedly attend each year..

Just so you know most Americans have never been to a professional ball game, Disney, or many great sites here in the US. myself included, im 62.. America is huge so many people have never been outside their States...sometimes it takes the perspective of foreigners to realize what we have and how we should appreciate it and discover the diverse people and the many beautiful places we are blessed to have and see right here in our own backyard called the USA..Thanks and God bless you both on all your wonderful future discoveries in your new Country, Welcome home!

I just returned from a trip to Cuba, and it was so incredible, so fascinating, but so sad at the same time! We stayed at a casa in particular and booked everything through locals, so we learned a lot from everyone we talked to. We even watched a Liverpool FC game with the local supporters and we brought them a bag full of items such as Liverpool flags, shirts, hats, signs, etc. We travel the world meeting up with Liverpool supporters everywhere and this was the first time ever that we met with a group who didn't have access to these items. The US embargo is ridiculous and appalling but also the system there doesn't work and every day people are suffering as a result. I can only imagine how immigrants feel when they do arrive in the USA and they walk into Walmart, Costco, or really any store. I never thought about what an immigrant would think about attending a sporting event! I am so happy that my friend (Earl Liberty in your video) told me to check out this video. I look forward to watching more of your videos! Thank you for creating this wonderful content.

I have been in so many stadiums in my life and I still get that giddy feeling when I walk in every time. Getting to see his reaction to something as amazing as this has been an honor. I love these videos so much
I’m not a football fan but I remember going to the Michigan Michigan state games with my family when I was younger. It’s was so fun to be in that atmosphere and the food and tailgating that’s what the party is called. I find myself being moved by the genuine reactions Yoel has to these experiences because I can’t imagine what it would be like if I didn’t know. I can’t imagine what it would be like to not have sports or concerts or music festivals. These are things we take for granted and it just sucks that there are places and people in the world that don’t know what these things are like. It doesn’t have to be this way.❤️❤️❤️
to be fair, Christin, Cuba has sports and concerts (lots of them) and music festivals. Its just not to the grandeiur as USA or hvae asa many things.
I've watched football all my life, attended my first pro football game in person when I was 25 and it was so amazing!!!! I remember that feeling of awe at the size of it all. And I love ya'll's content.
I am so thankful that they were able to experience American Football. I live in America and never been to a game. My dream is to see the Bears play. Glad you two experienced it and that this will be in your memories for a life time.

Drag racing and NASCAR racing are the most popular forms of auto racing in the US, might be a fun time to see one of the events they hold.
OMG! Yes! My dad took me for the first time as a teenager, and I love it still. NOTHING on this earth like going to NHRA event and feeling the earth rumble and your whole body shake from the raw power of the funny cars and top fuelers. Yes, bring ear protection.
What a blast! Like kids at Disneyland! Football is the best team sport in the World, its tough and it takes a team to win, no individuals. I was blessed to have two sons big enough to play college football. It's so much fun. Keep content coming guys.
