French biography with Kenenisa Bekele. It discusses his life, the tragic events with his fiancee, and how he trains at 2000 - 3000m of altitude. www.allrunn.in
@HugRunner Just because you don't understand it does't mean it's annoying, much less a real language. Sure, chinese might sound like just a bunch of sounds to many, but to foreigners, English sounds like a bunch of blabbery, too. Don't be jealous just because another country got the chance to do something many of us would have personally enjoyed doing. It's a great documentary. If you don't understand it, then sorry. There's lots of other places where you can find information like this about him
@HugRunner Just to get something out of the way, im not french, or of french descent, so all my views are my own and unbiased. First of all, i dont know why you find french annoying, its rules make way more sense than english grammar and it sounds a lots nicer than english (in my opinion). Also, your question has a pretty obvious answer. First up, Kenenisa doesnt speak french, so his dialogue is covered by a translator, so the original interview probs exists somewhere. Plus it was done for news,
Meh, why would someone do a French biography about one of the best runners in the world... There's obviously a lot of interest for information on him so why not be as broad as possible and do it in a real language...
Teff is the healthiest I repeat the healthiest grain in the world. Its full of Vitamins, nutrients, amino acids, fiber , more protein than wheat, more iron that any grain out there, more calcium than almost all grains, no gluten, and guess what folks the Arsi state in Ethiopia most Ethiopian athletes come from is the major region where teff is cultivated in Ethiopia.
That's just so stupid. They got the opportunity, not me, to do a documentary or biography and it's not made so as many as possible can enjoy it... I would have done it much better. And just because someone speaks a language it shouldn't be changed or have added subtitles to reach a broader audience? I guess you want to watch e.g. documentaries on discovery channel about rare tribes in their native language with no subtitles or voice-overs as well then? Just stupid, think next time please.
@HugRunner so why would a FRENCH broadcasting agency targeting FRENCH speakers do it in another language, do you think that ex. Dutch news is presented in english? of course not. And even if french is an annoying language, they would still be responding to a LOT of people, because the fact remains french is globally popular.
@track2996 Well its #1 hated too. It's not influential at all, just annoying and unfortunately widespread. And the question still remains; you get like the biggest opportunity ever, you get to follow Kenenisa Bekele, why would you ruin it by cover it in French? It just confirms all possible kind of assumptions and prejudices about French I guess.
Perhaps because the people who did the commentary are French and Bekele speaks French. Perhaps you should do one yourself, but is 'Meh' English? Now using that phrase is annoying!
He doesn't speak French. In fact, Bekele spoke in English and his native language probably Amharic or Oromo then it was translated to French... He just said a few words in French trying to learn even in the car he was listening to a tutorial CD and repeating...
@HugRunner French is the second most influential and widespread language in the world, and this was probably made for tv... try being bilingual or a little more open minded...
are you f**king kidding me??? French is equal to English in EU-European Union (no, that's not a country) and it is official language in many other countries, especially in Africa. you should get subtitles, not insult nations and people worldwide
j'ai eu la chainse d'être a coté de Kenenisa Bekele en photo je garde du bon souvenir !
Even though I don't speak or don't have a good understanding of the french language I still watched this

@pumperclown - Nah, dude. It is also what we eat. I know Ethiopia and most of the food there is organic and fiber rich.
