Video with real helpful appreciate it worked on cards and trucks a lot 70s and 80s fixing to put a clutch in I have 250 dually so this kind of freshen up and make sure I ain't forgotten nothing but thank you
I have a tune only truck with a bad clutch, once I get the funds I've been dreading doing the clutch since I've never done one, this video makes it seem like the hardest part is the trans itself
Awesome video very detailed! Going to do mine soon. Was turning the crankshaft with a wrench to get the starter to catch and it broke off the end of the starter today. Thanks for posting this
Doing the worx clutch flywheel pressure plate, oil,pan rear main seal.I put84 cab on 91 1ton super duty hoping 3 inch body lift will save me as far as the cab is concerned pulling oil pan
Great video but I sure wish someone would show the full process. I got my clutch in and everything bolted up right, started my truck and it would not go in any gear. Re dropped the trans and my clutch fork seemed to be installed right but had two big gouges in the metal on my slave cylinder side. Something was locked up
I have a '90 F-250 7.3 non-turbo with the zf5, the ring gear on my dual mass flywheel is bad, would you suggest I just convert it over now to the solid flywheel? And I'm guessing it will be the same as you show in your video? Thanks for the time and effort in your video, very informative.
@@tracyhill7960 Idk about that, but the solid is just stronger, I think a dual mask flywheel is their to help with vibrations and driver comfort, I drive alot old cars so vibrations are a normal feeling for me lol
Can Anyone Help me figure out why my clutch is hooting? I've had my clutch assembly replaced twice in less than a year and it still "hoots like an owl" and yes they've replaced the throwout bearing both times. Is it possible there's an issue in the pedal instead? Any help is greatly appreciated!!
On the ground and in rocks but put down big rug and half sheet ply wood for jacks to roll ... But 2 days later got it in .... Wish I would've used the 6in bolts as quied pins in the begging but hey u learn but its in how what a diff it makes totally diff truck 7.3 turbo 5spd. All bout can't wait to turn it up n lil more boost
Not that I noticed, but the pressure plate does put alot force on to the clutch plate so it could, if its moving alot you could have something on wrong, or a bad part
So it stead of pulling my trans cause I bought brand new upgraded transmission. I just pulled my motor cause I’m doing performance upgrades. Would it be same thing
Having an issue getting truck to go into gear after new clutch. When i was tightening down pressure plate the fingers were moving which seems odd so I exchanged it for a even better clutch assembly and same thing now truck wont go into gear while running. I also replaced master/slave cylinders. Out of ideas now
It's not grabbing the gears . It still moves but it takes a while for it to get going. The stick shift goes in every gear okay but it acts like it not grabbing the clutch plate. What is wrong with my transmission.
@@TattsForLife okay thank you because I’m about to change my clutch and was wondering how much it’s going to cost plus I need to change my rear main seal

Aah! I get it now! Your single mass flywheel came with the pilot bearing in already! Awesome. I was so confused
Pretty much!

Thanks for the vid..all my research on 7.3 is showing only 47 to 49 ft pounds for flywheel as well as manual with my clutch kit
Thanks for the info!
Be careful! The dual mast requires 49 and the single mast is like 89 or 90
Nice job
Thank you
Great vid thanks for the specs too
Welcome, happy the video was helpful
How much did all your parts cost ?
I got a Ford f-350 5 - speed overdrive manual transmission. 1999 3/4 ton , 7.3 motor 4×4 , 4 - door truck.
its a older video, I do not recall the cost, I say under $500
Very helpful, thank you for the video.
Glad it was helpful!
Great job .
Thanks you
Good video...attention to detail is much appreciated....What part of the country are you from. I would pay you to do mine.
them 7.3 are hard to work on, lol I get sick just thinking about changing a part on one lol
Does the cab need to be lifted to take the top transmission bolts out or no?
No it does not
Do you have a video of you taking the transmission out?
I sure don't
Good work
Thank you so much 😀
My 95 F 350 7.3 has a dual mass flywheel. I am not sure what year yours is, but do you know if our rigs can use either type of flywheel?
They can
Great video. Do you get any grinding noise after installing the single mass flywheel?
only in reverse but that is caused from the transmission gears for reverse and not the clutch
@@TattsForLife awesome, what year is your powerstroke?

I like the way the solid flywheel preforms, but I use mine to tow alot

@@tracyhill7960 We FINALLY figured it out! It was the slave cylinder. Praise the Lord it wasn't anything catastrophic! Thank you!
I order that same kit but it didn’t fit for my f350 1992 4x4 manual do you know which one would fit
I am not sure on that year truck
Thanks for the video, that was easy to follow and helpful. Did you do this on the ground or on a lift?
sadly I had to do this on the ground, as no lift I know of could lift my roll back lol

Did you record removing and reinstalling your transmission? Break in period suggestions for the new clutch?
just drive normal for a few 1000 miles for the break in on a clutch, and no I did not record the install
Did you take the transmission completely out or remove the driveshaft and slide the trans back?
Can be done either way, I fully rebuilt my transmisson so it was already all the way out when I installed my clutch
When you were tightening down the pressure plate to the flywheel, did the fins move on it??? I am having troubles with mine.

I also replaced master/slave cylinders. Out of ideas now
any trouble before the swap? and as your tighten the clutch down the fingers will move some as the disk puts pressure on to the clutch
Could be a bad slave cylinder
Do you have a link to the product
I think my kit for my idi said 45 torque. I will recheck because I think you are close with yours
yes its always best to double check
It's not grabbing the gears . It still moves but it takes a while for it to get going. The stick shift goes in every gear okay but it acts like it not grabbing the clutch plate. What is wrong with my transmission.
It's probably the clutch disk, check to see if it's worn or glazed
Is there any trick to getting the old bearing out??
a bearing puller tool helps alot
How much does something like this cost after everything is done
I did it all myself was just out cost of parts, was under $400 but it was a few years ago, cost for parts may have went up some
