Interesting properties! It's cool seeing the 1900 home as it's the same age as our house. We renovated our century home without going deep into debt. It's very doable if you are a creative thinker with carpentry skills.
Yes it's a very good idea to have someone with knowledge of cellar structure to check that out. Maine is known for bad foundations on old homes. Just saying. I like the one in Bang-or. Lebec is lou-beck.
Maine is a beautiful state with many many lakes and a very long coast. I live on the coast and the prices in midcoast Maine are very high . The house your showing is sure in a remote area. This is more then just country living this is called the willy wags.😅 Washington county is a nice area on this secound house built in the 1900s.
A word to the wise. Be prepared to live in the middle of nowhere with these properties, with lack of amenities that you would have in more urban areas. It is beautiful, but take stock of what you will be living without beforehand. And know that your winters are very long and very cold. Plus you will always be "from away" to the natives. I know because I'm living it.
It would be good to have a wood burning stove to use to heat house too!
It's VERY expensive to live in Maine. Heating alone is a hardship.
Those prices seem very cheap. Florida has expense cooling !
Yeah, I bet it is expensive.
It's not as bad as you think. If you use oil, yes. But most of us use several sources, like wood, pellets.

Truth!
I love Maine
On the first house the siding doesn,t look good but i guess you could pa8nt it.
It has shakes that need replaced and painted. We drive by it.
It has double oven
Is the first one haunted?? The listing is very odd with for sale, taken off, listed, sold and all over again. Something is not right 👻
