One point I didn't respond to but should've, he said that 70 people a year die from eating green potatoes and getting solanine poisoning! He once again did not cite a source but from this German risk assessment institute, few cases have been reported in history and there have been ZERO reported deaths from this in the last 50 years! That's despite 7 billion humans regularly eating potatoes! www.bfr.bund.de/en/press_information/2018/15/solanine_in_potatoes__green_and_strongly_germinating_potato_tubers_should_be_sorted_out-204286.html
Solanine is bitter tasting so dangerous, green potatoes should be obvious and easy to dodge. If you somehow end up eating some, it is probably going to result in some nausea.

He should be legally compelled to make a video retraction. It should be THE LAW. When a doctor says a wrong thing in their capacity as a medical advisor, they need to be forced to either correct themselves or give up their privilege to practice medicine. Any good doctor would GLADLY say "I was wrong!" All the plant based docs, when shown they're in error, say loud and proud, "I was wrong!"
If someone can't admit they made mistakes, that's a HUGE red flag.

Being vegan is a cult unfortunately. Anyone who's done actual research into this stuff knows that vegetables have a very horrible risk-to-reward ratio and don't really have any reasons to eat them. Optimal health is most likely Low carb with high fat and high protein, however some variance shows that some people handle zero carbs just as well or better. Long term ketosis has shown to be the most effective treatment and preventative measure for so many issues it's actually kind of hilarious.

I am an ex-vegetarian Hindu. In my society, it is a grave sin to eat meat and eggs. Milk and honey are welcome. I can gurantee that my 7 generations of ancestors never ever had meat. Since childhood I had skin problems, teeth problems, leg pains and poor performance at school. As an adult, doctors say I have fybromyalgia and several pinched nerves, tight IT band, tight piriformis and extreme thoracic back pain. Gassy football belly is an everyweek issue. My mother had ulcerative colitis for about 25 years. My grandpa died of throat cancer but he never smoked. My father died of after effects of stroke. No one in my extended family can say they are fine. Every person has some health issue despite eating home grown, home cooked vegetarian food. All of them take medications since their 30s.
I need to get my body out of these pains.
I am learning to adapt to the awful smell of meat and eat it. After 30 years of a tradiional generational vegetarianism, I have found relief in eggs and poultry. The positive effects are felt within hours. Will try mutton next. Cow is sacred to us so no beef. Meat heals inflamed gut.

@@alankritakaushalI don’t think we can blame the plants for your family’s health when you were still consuming dairy. Dairy, especially full fat, can be very problematic. For example, I personally break out with painful cystic acne when I consume dairy. It clears in about a week of eliminating dairy. Is it possible these carnivore dieters are seeing these cool improvements because they’re eliminating processed foods? The cholesterol of carnivore dieters is certainly nothing I’d want to intentionally duplicate.

Just because plants are trying to kill animals that would eat them doesn't mean that those same animals haven't evolved to cope with or even thrive with those very plants. Suggesting that we shouldn't eat plants because they contain chemicals that can stress the body is like saying standing up and walking places stress on our joints, so we should sit down and avoid moving around. Although, sadly, there are people who actually hold that view.

@Leo but this study is definitely concerning though, th-cam.com/video/GeL7_0FgsfQ/w-d-xo.html. It's a pity that a lot of studies compare vegan to omnivore, without mentioning what those omnivores eat, and claim vegan to be superior. IMHO, it could just be due to removal of the SAD part that helped, but the above study does show that a low carb diet that eats meat and removes grains increases the chance of getting diabetes by 50%+, compared to low carb+ whole food vegan, any thoughts?

I have only met 1 guy who went carnivore for 8 months and started having joint pain and was losing strength in the gym (gym buddy of mine at the time) who went back to omnivore because he still loved eating meat but couldn't sustain meat only.
Again even now my second paragraph is only personal anecdotal evidence that carnivore doesn't work, so for many people short term it might be great. All evidence we have points to longevity being associated with less or no meat consumption and higher plant intake. Until we go through another 20 years of carnivore evidence we won't know.
For me removing meat alleviated my 40lbs overweight, short of breath, joint pain riddled body within 1 year and no symptoms have ever come back. When it comes to soy, I think we should be careful about the type of soy we consume. I have had issues with eating isolated soy protein. Prior to that, I consumed tofu, tempeh, and soy sauce with no problem. If you are going to consume soy, I would suggest to keep it as unprocessed as possible, and don't over do it. Too much of anything can be bad, so try to stick to a variety of foods if possible. I also wanted to note that I had heard somewhere that Asians (and whites) deal with higher rates of infertility than other groups of people. That is something to keep in mind. I agree with you that varying our sources of plant protein is important and that we should pay attention to how our body reacts to specific foods.
There are studies showing that Asian American women have a lower fertility rate and a lower chance of successfully responding to fertility treatments. One in particular found genetic components (higher rate of a specific mutation linked with infertility and higher rate of endometriosis for instance) as well a cultural components (higher maternal age on average at the start of the fertility treatments and higher rate of consumption of fish with higher doses of mercury). (Vu et al. 2022, F&S Reports)
As far as soy is concerned, a meta-analysis found that there is some evidence to suggest positive associations between soy consumption and women's fertility but concluded that more evidence should be collected due to sample sizes/quality. (Rizzo et al. 2022, J Nutr Sc)
Take this with a grain of salt because this is very anecdotal but I work in scientific research and have heard geneticists complain about the lack of available funding to study the genetic components of infertility. The current treatments bring in a lot of money so there is an incentive for some questions to remain unanswered.

This acquaintance of mine who's only 30 something developed many terrible health symptoms. Through research, she hypothesized that oxalates have accumulated way too much in her body and cause problems. Previously, she was eating a low carb, a lot of vegetables diet. She then switched to mostly carnivore, eliminated all high oxalates vegetables and foods, eat a bit of veg here and there, and what do you know, her health symptoms all improved remarkably. What have you got to say to this?

I like to take my health advice from those who look healthy lol. Dr Chaffee wins hands down. Anecdotally, i have reversed or 'healed' every one of the many automimmune issues i experienced from the age of 3 weeks on a meat and water diet - 5 years this year. I am 53 years old, hands down the healthiest I've been since birth. Tried every single other diet approach over the years, including vegan and the typical western female diet of my generation, tiny amounts of lean meat and huge salads through my 20s. Carnivore turned around my health the day i stopped eating plants and continued to improve in the years following. My chronic eczema immediately improved and was gone within 2 weeks along with many more issues. Meat only is lifesaving for some folk 😊

I have often taken issue with some of Mic's responses but in this case I am going to side with him. In my years of studying human nutrition I have come to the conclusion that there are countless compounds in foods that can help or hurt us depending on context and bio-individuality making human nutrition a VERY complex study, however for those who tolerate them well plant based nutrition does seem superior to strictly animal based by a fairly sizable margin. However when going to the extreme for plant based as Mic does I had sever complications, extreme fatigue and significant cognitive decline plagued me, In years of self experimentation and tracking nutrients I find my ideal to be around 2/3 plant based in terms of protein and very high fiber, moderate fat and as low carb as I can get on a heavily legumes based diet, but that is mostly due to a per-diabetic condition that I was born with. The more non-starchy vegetables I get in my diet the better I feel and function, I eat them in shocking quantities and have never had any issues with cancer, that accusation make me laugh. While observational studies are not perfect for many reasons they can and do give a very good perspective on optimal human diet assuming you can eat that way and the results are very clear, vegan, vegetarian, and pescatarian diets are about as good as it gets if you can eat that way.
I have gone full fledged keto every year for several years now as a mechanism to keep my weight under control and it does work very well for that but I don't recommend it as an everyday lifestyle especially if you work outdoors in a very hot climate as I do as it reduces your ability to hold adequate water, I only do keto cycles in the cooler months and my keto cycles are much more plant based than most with avocados, nuts, and seeds making up most of my fats and I NEVER restrict non starchy vegetables, if they don't make up the bulk of your diet you are doing keto very wrong IMHO and many experts will agree with that.

I dont understand people that say they were vegan for 7-10 years and then bam carnivore diet. Like how? Ive been vegan since 2016 for health reasons (cancer) first and then I was introduced to animal agriculture and thinking about eating animals makes me feel sick. I can tell you for certain, I will never eat meat again. I cant see a situation where my mind would change so easily. Ohh by the way Ive been on remission since the end of 2016. I truly believe changing how I ate helped my body fight off the cancer. I can't imagine going back.
