      people will willing kill animals if they believe its nutritionally or environmentally superior. Unfortunately a lot of people aren't mentally well enough to care about others.

      I think one reason may be that it’s implicit in the term veganism that it spares the lives of animals.

      Yea it's really gross honestly, they've such a hard on trying their hardest to debunk its health and environmental benefits, that they ignore the very real ethical concerns with their own diets. I don't understand it, especially coming from "objective science" channels.

      Full truth about veganism is it completely denies the mountain of evidence for plant intelligence.
      Personally, consume whatever you want. But, I always find it funny when you put a plant intelligence study in front of a vegan. The excuses are absolutely beautiful. 😂
      It's a pro animal religious movement, and they're free to do it. They're not free from reality, though.

      @@gmr1241Guaranteed you were not on a Keto or Carnivore diet when all this happened. Of course ANY move towards eating better will have improvements. One thing Vegan's never seem to address is just how come so many people, especially with autoimmune dysfunctions, get completely better when on a carnivore diet versus any pure plant based diet. Our intestinal tracked doesn't look like any Herbivore tract, not even the great Ape. How do you explain our survival for over a million years without any high percentage of plant based foods whatsoever? And, most of the vegetables and fruits we consume today didn't even exist a few hundred years ago, so exactly why would our bodies be supposedly "better" at digesting all this stuff suddenly, in the last 0.1 % of our Evolution versus what we ate for hundreds of thousands of years?

The points of concern were picked up and tackled well: the title of that video, the canines - baffling how people ignore what their eyes tell them about human canines and simply focus on the word, the bone study, the stroke, the B12 *missed out here by both that video and by Mic was the data about 40% of all Americans, and a higher percentage of seniors, being deficient*, the good summing up list of health benefits of vegan diet - and yes the scant attention given to animal suffering. There is a few people that seem to somehow either get B12 from a source which is unknown... or that their bodies microbiome some how makes B12 for them. There is cases of vegans being vegan for over 40 years, and they don't take B12 supplements, par if it's added to food. And so this seems to indicate some people make their own B12 somehow. However there is also cases of vegans not taking B12 and getting seriously ill with mental problems, and even dying as a result. So it is important for most vegans to play it safe and supplement B12, even if there is a chance they make their own B12, I don't think risking mental health issues is worth the gamble. So I think all vegans should encourage B12 supplementation to be safe.✌

    B12: Douglas Graham speaks about people that are B12 deficient at the beginning of a long water-only fast, but by the end of the fast their B12 levels are normal, indicating that the B12 is produced by naturally occurring bacteria in the human, given the right conditions. Anecdotal only.

This is the person I’m so thankful to for raising us on lots of garden veggies and whole foods in the 60’s, which I think gave me a really good start in life that has really paid off. Dang. She has listened to TH-cam ‘researchers’ and is convinced that veggies have 27 toxicins in them or something. I’m shocked. But she has lost a lot of weight that she needed to loose. A whole food plant based diet and a ruminant carnivore diet both are good for ones health. I have tried both for months at a time, but as a middle aged man, it was only after being on the carnivore diet that I personally experienced (2-4 weeks into the diet) waking every morning with an erection like I did back when I was in my teens and twenties.
    I'm a lap swimmer, and had no problem swimming a mile nonstop on both diets.
    For health and well being regardless of diet, the important thing is to exclude all processed foods, all seed oils, most sugars.
    Many of the plants we consider food today did not exist 100 to 200 years ago in the form found today. They have been modified via selective growing techniques and/ or geneticaly modified techniques. As a result fruits are more sugary, and many individual vegetables were developed/designed from one or two types of vegetable ancestors.
    Lastly, if you love your animals, feed them natural foods too; not processed foods. That means feeding your cats a diet that includes raw meat or if cooked meat, but not boiled.

    I would add that a vegan diet does not necessarily correlate to good health. If you are not eating meat - great - but don't expect to be healthier by eating non meat products such as bags of chips, French fries, non dairy chocolate bars, processed vegan foods, etc. Though these are foods not containing meat, they are also very hazardous to ones health. I would also add that strong bone is not the sole result of eating calcium rich food. You can eat all the calcium you want, but if you are not engaging in some form of stress related bone activity, your bones will continue to weaken. Use it or lose it is the phase that comes to mind. If the body discovers that it doesn't need to expend resources on growing bone strength, it doesn't - it simply doesn't waste it's time. To build stronger bones one needs basically two things: bone stress and proper nutrition to support bone growth. Take one or the other way and you take away bone health. Just my two cents... Peace and love always.

    The 8.7 million species of animals have a 100% success rate with their species diet as long as they had access to the food and no accidents happened. If a vegan diet does not have a 100% success rate with simple intuition based on evolution, then someone is trying to outsmart nature which will have a 100% failure rate.

    There's a lot of benefits of Taurine, which is difficult to get on a vegan diet, so I've been supplementing with capsules 2 or 3 times a week.

    I'll admit I haven't actually looked myself yet, but can you or anyone post a link to the study about bioavailable B12 in duckweed please?
    I knew there was B12 in duckweed but didn't realise any research had been done to prove whether it is bioavailable or not - the last article I read on the subject suggested that the research hadn't been done or was in it's early stages, so really interesting.

    Most of cow's milk is actually not that rich in calcium. In our country they actually add calcium to the milk. So why not just drink plant based milk that has also added calcium and other nutrients

    Hi Mic! I haven't looked through all your videos yet but have you ever done one about vegan/vegetarian diets and developing
    Hypochlorhydria? I developed that condition after being a vegetarian/vegan for over 20 years of my life and had no choice but to start eating meat to deal with the side effects that almost killed me. Didn't know if you knew of it or other ways to treat it. Thanks!

    When it comes to science, there is no debate and there is no "balance". Data is the only thing that matters. The scientific data behind whole food plant based diets has been extensive and rock solid for DECADES. There is nothing to debate

    I turned vegan a couple of years ago & have no issues with cholesterol, high BP, diabetes & some of the 'normal'' stuff we see nowadays. My chronic rheumatoid arthritis has also begun to reverse to the extent that at sixty I am now able to technodance all night long at the dance clubs that dot Goa's beaches down here in India! I have never felt better, physically & mentally!
    Ofcourse I pay attention to my nutrient intake, particularly Iodine which I get from seaweed, & I also use methylcobalamin as a B12 supplement.

    Someone else has probably mentioned it but Joaquin Phoenix became vegan when he was three years old! Same time as his whole family.

    • @weirdunclebob
      @weirdunclebob ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @ryanhulme3303 You might call it that but you'd be wrong. Any medical professional will tell you that a vegan diet is suitable for humans at any stage of life unless they deny the science.

    • @weirdunclebob
      @weirdunclebob ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @ryanhulme3303 Just to clarify, veganism is a moral philosophy not a diet. Vegans eat a plants-only diet sourced without harming or exploiting animals. That's the whole and sole purpose of veganism, to avoid harming and exploiting animals. Nothing more, nothing less.
      Those very sources you cite state quite clearly that a well planned "vegan diet" is NOT an unhealthy diet and can even provide benefits that other diets cannot. Dig deeper and you'll find the facts. I often use the NHS's statement to back up my claims. I tried linking the NHS page but TH-cam doesn't like legitimate links so you'll have to look it up yourself. Just search NHS vegan statement and you'll see it.
      As for supplements, vegans generally only need one: B12, and that's easily sourced by tablets, injections or fortified foods. Also, if you think supplements are a bad thing, you might want to research all the supplements that go into standard animal meat products in the animal Ag industry including B12. I think you'll be surprised at what the industry has to do to make their "products" legal to sell.
      Enjoy your research. May it make you a better person!
