Yeah so this video was supposed to be released way earlier but the original one is still stuck processing!!! WEIRD. I blame the Masters in Beef Advocacy program :P
Note for TH-camrs: I think it was because the upload was interrupted and restarted and the video was scheduled. Who really knows though. I finally just reuploaded it and that worked quickly so if you ever see "Processing will be begin shortly" for more than an hour then it is probably messed up.

👍. The points of concern were picked up and tackled well: the title of that video, the canines - baffling how people ignore what their eyes tell them about human canines and simply focus on the word, the bone study, the stroke, the B12 *missed out here by both that video and by Mic was the data about 40% of all Americans, and a higher percentage of seniors, being deficient*, the good summing up list of health benefits of vegan diet - and yes the scant attention given to animal suffering. A good Mic the vegan video, again. Thanks. And congratulations on completing the public health course. 🎉💐

Just clicked away from a V on instagram saying vegans don't need supplementation and I'm like '!!' even omnis need supplements for b12 at certain age so that is just a lie to try to make veganism sound easy. Vegan for 11 years myself, it's not hard, but we do disservice to those who would switch by lying to them.

The 8.7 million species of animals have a 100% success rate with their species diet as long as they had access to the food and no accidents happened. If a vegan diet does not have a 100% success rate with simple intuition based on evolution, then someone is trying to outsmart nature which will have a 100% failure rate.

I can see olives, tomatoes, broccoli, beans, a yellow pepper, a rice puff cracker, what's the stringy stuff next to the olives and what's the large yellow portion on the bottom with leaves on top of it? I really love the idea of a more plant based diet but its soooo hard to do that in a third world country like the Philippines where you're slapped in the face with pork or chicken everywhere you go, unless you find that exceptionally rare restaurant with overpriced tiny portions of vegan food,

Literally every study on every diet can find significant health increases.
Most people have no clue what they put in their mouths: whenever you examine people on a diet, versus a sample of the population that doesn't diet, you will find the people on the diet to have better health outcomes.
And yeah, nutritional science is still on its nascency: even today, you can find doctors recommending the food pyramid, which is basically a General Mills advertisement campaign.

A whole food plant based diet and a ruminant carnivore diet both are good for ones health. I have tried both for months at a time, but as a middle aged man, it was only after being on the carnivore diet that I personally experienced (2-4 weeks into the diet) waking every morning with an erection like I did back when I was in my teens and twenties.
I'm a lap swimmer, and had no problem swimming a mile nonstop on both diets.
For health and well being regardless of diet, the important thing is to exclude all processed foods, all seed oils, most sugars.
Many of the plants we consider food today did not exist 100 to 200 years ago in the form found today. They have been modified via selective growing techniques and/ or geneticaly modified techniques. As a result fruits are more sugary, and many individual vegetables were developed/designed from one or two types of vegetable ancestors.
Lastly, if you love your animals, feed them natural foods too; not processed foods. That means feeding your cats a diet that includes raw meat or if cooked meat, but not boiled.

I would add that a vegan diet does not necessarily correlate to good health. If you are not eating meat - great - but don't expect to be healthier by eating non meat products such as bags of chips, French fries, non dairy chocolate bars, processed vegan foods, etc. Though these are foods not containing meat, they are also very hazardous to ones health. I would also add that strong bone is not the sole result of eating calcium rich food. You can eat all the calcium you want, but if you are not engaging in some form of stress related bone activity, your bones will continue to weaken. Use it or lose it is the phase that comes to mind. If the body discovers that it doesn't need to expend resources on growing bone strength, it doesn't - it simply doesn't waste it's time. To build stronger bones one needs basically two things: bone stress and proper nutrition to support bone growth. Take one or the other way and you take away bone health. Just my two cents... Peace and love always.

There's plenty of B12 in nori sheets and plenty of Iodine. No need to eat steak or fish. If you run out of money for a multivitamin you can grab some nori sheets from the store for $5 in a pinch and eat 2-4 sheets per day. Just munch on them plain or make your own vegan sushi rolls or just tear them up and sprinkle like a topping over salad or steamed rice with some veggies. Yummy.

On my TH-cam recommended videos a 2003 "documentary" called "The Perfect Human Diet - Exploring the obesity epidemic - full" popped up. I started watching and after watching 21 minutes really don't want to watch anymore. In the first 21 minutes it talks of indigenous folks who had adopted a western diet (sad) and became unhealthy encouraged to go back to their ancestors diet only to regain their health. Those ancestor diets were, you can guess, meat landen. If you can stomach watching it I would love to see you do a refutation of the video. That I would watch. Also I couldn't find where their funding for this "documentary" came from. You are a great researcher so perhaps you can get that info when I failed. Thanks for your great videos,!

@@witty_kitty when I first went vegan I struggled and only lasted 9 months. I wasn't eating enough calories. I went back to pescatarian for a few months but hated it because I knew what was happening to fish. So, I researched everything I could at the time. Recipes, how to eat at restaurants, and found vegan groups on Facebook. This helped me a lot because I wasn't so alone and I learned a lot from the others. It also got me into activism which only solidified my stance on ethics.
Seriously, you have it so easy these days. The information, products, and larger community didn't exist when I first went vegan.
Where there is a will, there is a way.

My canines are so insignificant, that they look like other teeth, like they are in no way pointy. 😂 I personally never saw "big" canines on a person, sometimes they at best are a little pointy and it looks like dracula teeth, especially when we were kids we were so interested in those things, never saw big canines, don't know why ppl use it as an argument at all 😅

    • @weirdunclebob

@@ryanhulme3303 You might call it that but you'd be wrong. Any medical professional will tell you that a vegan diet is suitable for humans at any stage of life unless they deny the science.

    • @ryanhulme3303
      @ryanhulme3303 ปีที่แล้ว

@@weirdunclebob Well I have sources from Oxford, Cambridge, the NHS and British government, even Harvard... all of which have concluded that veganism is an unhealthy diet. ANY diet that requires you to take supplements as a prerequisite... is by definition unhealthy. Can you comprehend that fact? Please address that point before you speak about anything else.

    • @weirdunclebob
      @weirdunclebob ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@ryanhulme3303 Just to clarify, veganism is a moral philosophy not a diet. Vegans eat a plants-only diet sourced without harming or exploiting animals. That's the whole and sole purpose of veganism, to avoid harming and exploiting animals. Nothing more, nothing less.
Those very sources you cite state quite clearly that a well planned "vegan diet" is NOT an unhealthy diet and can even provide benefits that other diets cannot. Dig deeper and you'll find the facts. I often use the NHS's statement to back up my claims. I tried linking the NHS page but TH-cam doesn't like legitimate links so you'll have to look it up yourself. Just search NHS vegan statement and you'll see it.
As for supplements, vegans generally only need one: B12, and that's easily sourced by tablets, injections or fortified foods. Also, if you think supplements are a bad thing, you might want to research all the supplements that go into standard animal meat products in the animal Ag industry including B12. I think you'll be surprised at what the industry has to do to make their "products" legal to sell.
Enjoy your research. May it make you a better person!

    Re sources of B12
    Sea-buckthorn in Germany at least
    where it is called Sanddorn
is available in jam and chocolate flavourings
    It is ubiquitous.
I suspect it is a common as
    Northern Germany and Northern Poland
basically have a lot of sandy soil
and they grow well especially in the coastal areas.

The Biggest Lie About Veganism: It's healthy! Grab you a ton of supplements and pretend your slice o' watermelon is steak OR just get you one nice, juicy, rare rib eye! Real cheese sauce is optional, butter is not!

Full truth about veganism is it completely denies the mountain of evidence for plant intelligence.
Personally, consume whatever you want. But, I always find it funny when you put a plant intelligence study in front of a vegan. The excuses are absolutely beautiful. 😂
It's a pro animal religious movement, and they're free to do it. They're not free from reality, though.
