  • Family Photo Lampshade Tutorial
Hi, in this DIY video you will learn how to make a photo lampshade . You can make it to be a family lamp shade like the one we made, a picture lampshade of your kids, have pictures of your pets printed or even Wedding Lampshade!
I go Step by Step showing you how to make any kind of lampshade using just two rings, styrene, vellum paper for your prints , ribbon , double sided tape, hot glue, and Krylon Acrilic Sealer (optional fora matte finish and protection)
You can make this project just like a pro and have beautiful results.
These are also a perfect and sentimental gift for any occasion❣️
Or you can simply start a small online shop selling custom personalized lampshades! The possibilities are endless!
    Instructions:
    1-Start by printing Three (3) 8.5 x 11 vellum paper sheets.
(Found on Amazon @ around $6 a pack of 50.)
You will also need to print a smaller piece of vellum paper (8.4" x
4"), that will be your last piece of prints to be attached to your 12" lampshade.
2- Cut a piece of 8.50 x 38.50 Pressure Sensitive Styrene. This paper comes with adhesive backing and is used on lamp making. It is flame-resistant.
    (Available @ LampShop.com @ around $7.50)
You can now start attaching the prints to the adhesive side of the styrene. Do this slowly and carefully making sure there are no bubbles .
3- Stick the double sided tape to the front and back of the styrene, and on both the top and the bottom of the paper.
4- Start rolling out your 12" Lampshade Rings.Top and Bottom.
Make sure to buy one with the proper fitting for your lamp Base.
You can find them online or at our shop thelampsbarn.etsy.com @ $9.25 (free shipping!)
We carry many sizes and many fittings for any lamp base, however,
for this project you will need 12” rings. Make sure the ends of your lampshade are aligned.
5- Finish by spraying some Acrylic sealer. We like Krylon which is around $4 per can at Walmart. This step is optional but it is a great way to protect your prints in the long run.
6- Now add your Ribbon, this is also optional but it helps cover the last seam of the prints
That's it! Enjoy your lampshade and make sure to follow us and subscribe for more awesome tutorials!!

Thank you SO much for including materials. This is exactly what I want to do (but also make it rotate) and none of the tutorials I've found talk about how to get the photos printed on something transparent that the light will shine through.

Thanks I will be trying this one! For the acrylic would you recommend getting a matte version or one that says original glossy?
