Fantastic video! Exactly what I was looking for. You didn’t waste my time with a long boring introduction, you got right to the task. The video was clear, camera work excellent, supplies clearly identified. Thank you!
I’ve watched a couple videos and did not like how they finished the top and bottom. Thank you ! So simple but it answered what I needed to know. Looks adorable
Would help to know the ratio of glue to water for diluting because when my fabric dried, it buckled up. Also, you will have to clamp down the edges with small paper binders while you wait for the glue to dry, otherwise the fabric won't stay.
Thank you for this video. I like that it only has music and speeds through some of the processes. I was wondering why you didn’t cut it out with the pattern attached (allowing for the extra on top and bottom and one side) instead of adding the step of tracing it into the fabric.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I HAVE MADE A LAMPSHADE AND FOLLOWED YOUR INSTRUCTIONS. IT WAS PERFECTLY AND MY LAMPSHADE IS REALLY BEAUTIFUL!!!! IT’S A PITTY THAT I CANNOT MAKE A PICTURE OF IT SO THAT I COULD SHOW IT TO YOU. AGAIN THANKS A LOT.
this looks great, thank you so much for the idea I will buy some fabric to make my son a little jungle lamp been having trouble finding a cute jungle lamp for his nursery corner we split the room so he can have his own area
Great video. Have been trying to figure out how to do this but wasn't sure. One small critique thought. A large sheet of paper, pencil and pins should be part of the materials needed. Its says paper is needed but its rolled up and is hard to see. What kind of glue should also be here.
So simple! And no need to buy a kit! I’ve got lots of old lampshades that just need new pattern or colour so this is fab. Just one question. If old shade is patterned what could you do to ensure it doesn’t show through to new shade fabric? Paint it first?
Hi Claire, yes it´s perfect to refresh old lampshades. In that case you could try to remove the old patterned fabric before add the new one. Normally there is a fabric on top a strong paper or plastic. Check it first.
I never use an exact amount. the idea is to have a texture that is good. One that is a bit liquid so you can apply easily but at the same time it's not too runny. I normally mix half glue half water.
My plastic layer under the fabric is crumbling...it was free but now what? Any suggestions greatly appreciated. The replacement shades I could buy just do not have the right shape/size.
Nice video! I have a lampshade already backed with brown fabric which is probably too dark to cover with another layer. I would like to try removing this fabric but I have a feeling it would just make a mess and damage the plastic layer too much to be worth it. Have you ever tried this?
Hi Robin. It´s a bit more complicate but should work as well. The important thing is create a good template in paper before cut the fabric. For do that you should place a side on the paper, draw the silhouette, turn the other side (be sure that the edge are in the same position), draw the new side and repeat until you do the 4 sides. My suggestion is that you make the template in a soft paper or even a old fabric, so you can test it on the lampshade cut the good fabric. I hope that help.
You made a pattern for the lampshade, and traced it onto the fabric, but I don't remember if you described the seam allowance for the rollover part???? Did I miss something? They came out nice by the way.
I would say a meter... because most fabric shops probably won't sell you less than a meter. Unless you shop at a quilt fabric store. You could always make a 'paper pattern' of your own lampshade (the way she showed in this instruction video), and take that with you, as a guide, when you go fabric shopping✌🏻😊.
That way you have a lighter layer and it's easier to avoid bubbles and wrinkles. But it's more than enough to keep it fix. You just use the glue undiluted in the parts that you need and extra power.
How would you apply it? If you put it only on the edges it won’t look right. If you pour it all over you might see it. Go to the dollar store and buy some glue.

So happy to see this. I was going to buy new lamp shades🤭You have saved me lots of money. Thank you

Hi Carol. I´m glad that help you. It´s easy to make it, and the ends look really great after

i love that it's short and yet very informative and creative!

Was looking for exactly this type of video for my lampshade. Thanks - from INDIA!

Excellent how-to. Quick and to the point!
Beautiful job and you made it easy to do. Thank you❤️
Tried this on an old lampshade, worked great! Thank you!
Thank you for that informative and short and sweet tutorial

Thank you! Question? Can I use wallpaper glue?

Yes, completely agree. I miss it :)
- LUV, LUV, LUV it. Beautifully done. Thanx 4 sharing.
Thank you. Simple and well explained.
Much better video instructions than others. But, did I miss the part to also have 2cm extra seam allowance on top & bottom? Thanks from the USA.
Yes you missed it. It's there.
Thank you for your great video ! I am going to try this . You have inspired me .
Wow !! Exactly what I was looking for.
Sangat cantik dan indah lampunya nona😍👍
Thank for sharing. I love your technique.
Perfect! Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you very much!!
Hi, great video. Could you please tell me what is the name of the white base which was already there on the lampshade?
And also, before trying anything permanent you could just place over the new fabric, turn on the light and check if it show throught.
Do you need to cut it on the bias, or does it matter because the pattern is already curved?
How do you make sure there are no air bubbles without using too much glue?
Great tutorial! Thank you 😊
Thanls a lot. I'm glad you like it. :)
Wow just beautiful, I need to restore mines but they are bell shape, do I follow the same techniques to make the pattern? Ty
Hi! I love your video!! Where can I buy that lampshade without the fabric?
Simple and easy thanks for sharing the idia
Very nice. This should look great with Velvet
One of a kind and the best of all.
Nicely done, I would have never figured it out. 😆
beautiful!! is that ok using any fabric? thank you
Excellent tutorial. I wish you had given the amount of glue and water though. I am definitely trying one.

@@parafernaliablog1768 is there an alternative to the water/glue that you recommend?
@@jenniferloveland1314, you could use hobby/fabric spray glue...I have seen that being used, in other lampshade videos ✌🏻😊
My plastic layer under the fabric is crumbling...it was free but now what? Any suggestions greatly appreciated. The replacement shades I could buy just do not have the right shape/size.
Thank you! For my GF, this is going to score me some big brownie points!

what glue is this? thanks--the spray adhesives are a toxic nightmare
I kinda want to do a shade ill do it soon. I hope.

Hi. I've never tried it, but if there is a plastic layer under maybe you can try to wet the fabric little by little and see if that help to remove it.
Super dzięki za ekstra pomysł❤
What are the pegs for? You don't seem to use them in your video!
Hi Anna, You can use the pegs to hold the fabric tight after applying the glue. Some times could be helpful.
Beautiful thank you for sharing your great idea with us 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰❤️💙🇱🇧
What kind of glue?
Hobby store will help you.
Wouldn't 8 to be easier to to the top and bottom hems said first and then attach the fabric to the lamp?
Thanks for the video
I have a pagoda style lampshade that I would like to put fabric in, but not sure this technique would work.
Hi Robin. It´s a bit more complicate but should work as well. The important thing is create a good template in paper before cut the fabric. Just what I need. Thank you so much.
Excellent. Thanks. I even liked the music :)
Straightforward thank you (:
Bravo pour cette vidéo très intéressante
Beautiful job AND I love the material!
Very helpful. Thank you.
You made a pattern for the lampshade, and traced it onto the fabric, but I don't remember if you described the seam allowance for the rollover part???? Did I miss something? They came out nice by the way.
No she didn't. I think she re-cut a totally different one because of that mistake.
at 1:53 2cm margin at both longer sides and one of the short side
What's that first fabric u put
You do not allow extra for overlap or rims????????
OMW!! Thank you!
How much fabric would you recommend purchasing for a shade this size?
I would say a meter... because most fabric shops probably won't sell you less than a meter. Unless you shop at a quilt fabric store.

great simple video
What is this hard white layer that is already on the shade.
It´s a white fabric lampshade. The tutorial is to revamp and old one.
Why did you use *diluted* glue on the whole of the shade?
That way you have a lighter layer and it's easier to avoid bubbles and wrinkles. But it's more than enough to keep it fix. You just use the glue undiluted in the parts that you need and extra power.
@@parafernaliablog1768 makes perfect sense! Thanks so much for your answer! :)

as in it wont overheat or anything?
Yes, it is safe if you use an led o low consumption light bulb. But you shouldn't ever use a incandescent bulb.
Good
😁 BEULTIFUL 😍❤️😘
Merci infiniment le top aurait été de nous montrer comment finir
But not all lampshades are round !
Mine are square, and oblong !
Not so easy then !
th-cam.com/video/UwgLBNvS0lQ/w-d-xo.html You're welcome! ;O)
It´s a bit more tricky but you still could create a template of your lampshade using the same system. It should work

Inches vs cm?
just google conversion...duh...approx 1"

👏👏👏
What kind of fabric you are using ? And where i can get it .thanx
Fabric or hobby store
Just buy a lampshade you like you can't get wasted time back.
good video, but lose the music
I accidentally disliked this video but hopefully I undid it. Thanks for this vid :)
Can I use my hot glue gun for this?
How would you apply it? If you put it only on the edges it won’t look right. If you pour it all over you might see it. Go to the dollar store and buy some glue.

Music is soo annoying
I’m sorry but that’s the WORST music. I couldn’t watch the video. 🙄
There is always the option of putting your volume/sound on mute✌🏻
Music is horrible! The scratching noise I just cannot listen to
Put it on MUTE... Jeez!!! PPL are so Stup...d
I just not a fan of videos that aren't narrated or explained.
What kind of glue?
