Boy when I tell you I ran🏃🏻♀️to this video. 😂
I nearly dropped my phone I got so excited!
😂
I started hopping up and down in front of my laptop.

@@kory351 Yes!!!! 😂
Me too! 😂
Thank you for posting again on TH-cam. Some of us can't afford Patreon. I'm an old gal on S.S. and love, love, LOVE your videos.
She's gotta a patreon!?
@@moonmama24 yup!!!
Yeah, me too.
@@moonmama24 She talked about it on the video. :)
You get ALL of her videos for as low as $3 a month. It's an unbelievable value. I'm on a fixed income as well. But $3 - that's one less 1/2 gallon of gas, or one less herb in the garden, or one less apple a month. I can't tell you how worth it Christine's patreon is. Hope you can find a way to make it work for you.
Every time you put out a video its like going back in time to Nana's house. The sights, the sounds, the style. It reminds me of the snuggly yet spooky feeling I would get while cuddled up with her on the couch and watching something scary on tv. She would be sewing something by hand, and she would always stick the pins in the arm of the chesterfield. Popop would fall asleep in his chair in front of the tv in his robe and slippers. What wonderful memories, thank you for that feeling.
When I see these videos I feel like Christine is trying to make her dream and somewhat spooky dollhouse but actually has the guts to do it in 1:1 scale. Does that make any sense?
She’s a rare breed
😍 A Christine McConnell TH-cam video?! You just made my day! 🖤
Maybe this is morbid, but someday someone is going to inherit your original works (because I doubt you'll ever sell them!) And I wonder how much of a hard time someone will have in aging and valuing your pieces. You put such an immense amount of work, care, and attention into your projects and they come out absolutely perfect!
When I watch her make this stuff,I think the exact same thing lol I wish I was related to her somehow, that way I could inherit all this AMAZING stuff!!!❤❤❤
Hopefully she puts the dates on them
Just when I think "Wow that looks amazing" she adds another detail, color, or texture that just knocks it out of the park. She really is in a class of her own with these creations 😍
I love how you give us tips, as if anyone could do what you do. Every piece you make could be in a fine art museum
Exactly... ! Part of me feels incapable, and part of me wants to try this stuff...LOL!!!
You have such a dark, incredible imagination. 🦇🖤 It´s fascinating to watch the process. And your space looks like something out of a movie.
Yes it does! The bat wings are cool!
Her whole yt channel looks as if it was made as a full length TV show back in the 80's and now she's giving it a modern twist while the original creativity is still there.
I gasped out loud when I saw you had a video out! And you did not disappoint as usual! I never would have thought to use these colors, the layering or the techniques to make this lamp shade. My gosh! You seem like a person who’s creativity is limitless. Well done!!
Christine, the amount of artistry and work you put into your projects is simply incredible. Your patience and talent are inspiring.
Anytime she posts , no matter what it is , its going to be an awesome videoo ! Am i ever gonna make lamp shades ? No , am i still gonna watch the whole video and enjoy it YESSSS!😂💜💜💜💜
That is gorgeous! I was afraid you abandoned your channel and am so glad to see this video! You seem to have the patience of a saint! Thank you for letting us back into your mind! I needed a dose of it! Lol
she is on patreon mainly!
Well she barely posts to this channel anymore.
More of her videos are unlisted for Patrons only. It's just her choice, I'm sure she has her reasons.
@GretchArmstrong It's fine that she's on patreon. I wasn't making a judgment. I was just happy she posted on her regular TH-cam.
I can confirm, when sewing the needle is an absolute nightmare on the nails. The pain if you slip and the needle gets stuck under your fingernail is something else 😂
I've never found another channel like yours! It's enchanting. ♥️
I second that.❤
You absolute mad woman. I’m telling y’all she is the only reason I have a Patreon. Even just $3 a month is so worth it and never disappoints. Cannot recommend enough
This was free a month to watch ✨

Mother has returned 🖤🖤🖤
The day was lacking some beauty then voilà...Christine appears ❤x
Even her taste in cat/dog breeds is amazing!
Attention to detail is amazing. Christine's beautiful home is less than a 1/2 mile as the crow flies from my place on the other side of the Mohawk River.
Yesssss, new content! 🫶🏽
The notification I wasn't even expecting, but which still makes me happier than the ones I do expect. 😅🤩
Just before you mentioned that you wore the same outfit for continuity, I was thinking, wow, she's getting so much done so fast! 😂 Love seeing the happy fur babies, too 🖤
No wayyyyy!! What a lovely surprise!! 🦇🦇🦇🖤🖤🖤🌙🌙🌙
I’m certain these will end up in an art museum one day
It is fascinating to me how an artist can manifest an idea in their mind, and create it out into the world. I can sit here for two hours and think of a horse. But when I try and draw it , horse does not end up on the paper. So your abilities leave me speechless. Well, almost.
There's a trick! Lots of artists would think : horse...then do many drawings, paintings, sculptures, etc that imply a horse, as opposed to trying to manifest a very specific rendering of the horse in their mind. So, make it more fun, maybe say "I'm gonna make 10 horses with no rules or expectations except enjoying the process." Also, find the products you really love, finger paint, clay, wire, dirt!! That makes everything better.
@@tmtb80 this is a genuinely good suggestion thanks
What a treat to watch.
I am always telling everyone I know about Christine McConnell and the works of her hands. Then I run down a list of all the things Christine does like sewing, woodworking, designing/drawing her own wallpaper, restoring Victorian wallpaper, baking, restoring furniture, lampshades, making a dressform from cardboard boxes, making clothes, etc. etc. etc. and I feel like I still haven't even touched the surface!
Omg yesssss!!! I Missed you! ❤🥹😍
Omg I love when you upload on Yt!!!
I had to pause at the final reveal cause what on EARTH!? HOW!? My jaw was legitimately permanently open. And with the books and antique wood mirror... Gods, absolutely perfect.
I'd trust her handy works over anything done by a computer, any day of the week!!!
And kitties and puppies make everything better!!!
I sure miss her very short lived baking show with the puppet monsters. That was so awesome.
My style couldn't be further from yours (my home is mostly white/pastel colors 😄), but everything you make is absolutely stunning and watching the process feels therapeutic. So fascinating! 😻
Same! It's not my style but she's so good at everything, it's a joy to watch.
Another priceless YT contribution masterpiece! There will never be another "Mind of Christine!"
I’m a BIG fan. I could watch you on repeat and never get bored . Those lamps are stunning. I can’t get on patreaon as I don’t have a credit card, so whenever you post on TH-cam I’m grateful, thank you so much.
Or at least I think you need a credit card???
@@ElenePerron-hf5jb couldn’t we use a debit bank card? All the same I thought?
Lovely to see the queen of gothic glam back posting on TH-cam again. :)
You take me on a journey into the world I wish I could live in full time.
I love everything you create.
You inspire me so much.
Thank you.
The thimble I use, named Ethyl for her previous owner, is a sterling silver one from around the turn of the last century. Vintage and antique thimbles are sized. Usually the size matches the ring size of your middle finger of your dominant hand. I started getting used to her by just wearing her randomly around the house. Could not hand-sew without her.
- Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
Now I know what to do if I find some old lamps at a thrift store or yard sale. I love your aesthetic.
The amount of detail you put into every project you do absolutely amazes me and they always comes out perfect! You are a great artist 🎨
Day made!!!!
That chair in the intro is iconic! I want one so bad. Also your style is impeccable. I adore you and your videos and was so excited to see a new one! I just binged a bunch of your older ones because they are so so good! Your home is looking absolutely fabulous btw everything you touch becomes so beautiful and unique I feel transported to another time and world. Your talent is something beyond words.✨
Fun fact, Peacock chairs were first made in the Philippines by prisoners as a form of rehabilitation. Since then it's become a widespread symbol for empowerment.
@@LittlestSamurai yes you are right I just read about that. I’m pretty obsessed with old Hollywood and I always see basically any major movie star or celebrity being photographed in this chair. Morticia Addams from the Addam’s Family always sat in one as her throne. I feel like Christine is a talented star transported from another era and this chair definitely suits her⭐️
That turned out incredibly beautiful. I'm in awe of how much talent you have and how meticulously and methodically you are able to execute your vision.
We need more of these. Plus another season of your show.
Your back! Hello! LOVE your content. Pro tip, when airbrushing smooth gradients, don’t go back and forth (stopping and reversing direction mid surface area), you wan to go clean and smooth solid strokes from outside the exposed area (off the page) to across the surface…to off the surface again. Big broad strokes.
So good to see you back, more Christine content is a very welcome suprise!!
A new Christine McConnell video on TH-cam is such a TREAT! Thank you!!
Christine is one of the most talented ladies I’ve ever seen! These shades are amazing! Everything she does is amazing! I have to rely on a professional to make a lamp shade for me! She has mastered so many different types of crafts! It just blows my mind! Bravo!
Nothing short of perfection as usual. You’re work is so inspiring.
LOVE the Morticia chair ♥♥♥
25:26 “One of the things I love about doing lampshades is that you almost *can’t* over-embellish them.”
Noted. New maximalist obsession unlocked.
the intricacy of your designs and subsequent projects never ceases to amaze! while I have to say they are not something I feel capable of reproducing, it is fascinating to watch you work. thanks for sharing your talents.
Hi, Christine, glad your back on youtube after a long time. I LOVE YOUR STYLE.
Every second was perfection. You are definitely a Jill of all trades and a master of all... I love how every detail is so considered. An absolute joy to watch. Thank you 👩🏻🏭👩🏻🎨👩🏻🍳👩🏻🔧👩🏻🌾👏🏻
I still can't believe you and your crafts are real.
Finding this channel, made my today worth it, out of thousands of things I did today. Finding this channel made myy worth it
It's always a pleasure receiving a new video Christine ❤
I didn’t even know I needed new lampshades, but here we are!
She easily convinces me I need something too haha
Christine, no more pain for fingers when sewing 🧵 many places sell finger covers, even using nail polish remover finger covers. They’re even sold at Dollar Tree” get looking cause we all love you and your work and your great videos!❤
I love that she mention that she doesn't just jump straight to the project, she does a lot of trial and error practice before hand. I find that many creators create the illusion that they do everything perfectly for first time and easily. And whenever i try at home and fail it discouraged me to keep on going saying i don't have it in me. Been watching Christine for years she is truly magnificent 😊. I love the Victorian/Spooky style
The way you can work with such creativity and precision on so many different types of projects is insaaaaaane. Not even a perfectionist you're just perfection incarnate
Have you tried a leather thimble? They also make ones with metal pieces in them for pushing thru harder materials. And buy a size smaller because the leather stretches and molds to your finger after time. I love mine.
Hands down one of the most creative/skilled person I’ve seen
Oh, to have her patience, knowledge and, talent ❤ Truly a gift 💞
I really love you so much Christine. Your videos really make my day better and It's like a breath of fresh air. Been having a really tough time with my dad in icu and having to drop a lot of my passions to be a caretaker, so it's fullfilling to see you being creative for me and I can live vicariously.
I hope your Dad recovers soon!!! HUGE (((((HUGS))))) 💜💜💜
Girl that chair is giving me serious 1964 Addams family vibes and I'm here for it 🖤
Christine my love. You are blessed with special skills. You are beyond amazing. The lamp shades are works of art. Your home is a museum of beautiful furnishings and artistic taste. Congratulations my dear on your creations. Such beauty is a blessing. Until next time. Take care and stay safe. Love ya🥂🍾👍🌹😇🌈❤️🕊🇺🇸🙏🌞
Please do some classes!!! I’d love to have a tenth of the knowledge you have. You have got me so motivated to so many projects I’ve put off because I thought they were too hard. Thank you for teaching me that I can do it, I just have to tell myself I can, and the technics I’ve gotten from you so far have be awesome! Thank you so much for all the hard work you do to bring us these wonderful videos!!
I am sure your have been told a million times how amazing your artistry it but I want to draw attention to your camera man and how lucky you are to have such a partner, to capture the different angles while you work. He really knows how to film and I admire his work. My artistic eye caught on to the touches of red right away from the cardinal to your opening scene. And I knew full well that lamp shade was not made in one sitting one afternoon. But the color red throughout the video really was as you say "cohesive", also a nice contrast to the shades of brown with the project at hand. Great choice. With his skills and your artistry the two of you make an amazing team to create such beautiful and engaging videos. Bravo to you both.
I hope you don't disappear for so long again! I love living in my 1889 Victorian home and you confirm all my decorating decisions that others find off the wall because they don't understand that all things should not be modernized and are worth keeping for what they are.
I don't believe in God, I believe in Christine McConnell. Teach me your ways, oh Goddess of arts and crafts!🙌
Wonderful!! So enjoy seeing your 'stuff'
Amazing as always. Your previous lampshade video helped my mother restore a vintage lampshade! It came out wonderfully.
Sewing can be awful and tedious but the possibility of ✨later alterations✨ wins for me too!
Your skills never cease to amaze me, seriously, you are ABSURDLY GOOD, not only on imagination but also on making them true
I’m amazed at the detail and design of these lampshades. Beautiful and Victorian yet looks like they would be at home in H.P. Lovecraft’s bedroom.
Archimedes looks so good😻
The lamps look AMAZING and i can hardly wait for the room reveal😊xx
How incredibly gorgeous these lamp shades turned out ! So talented! Poor fingers , but worth it ! 🖤
I could listen to your channel's music all day! It's so trippy & magical! In the midnight, full moon, wine, , ,
Stunning lampshade, i gasped upon seeing the finished project, wow!
Aaaah I always get so excited when I see a new video from you omg!! ❤❤
Comme toujours un travail incroyable. Magnifique. J’adore ce que tu fais Christine. Bravo et merci de partager avec nous. 🌺🌸🌺
Every time you upload a video I know it is going to be outstanding, however I never seem to recall just HOW mesmerized I was the last time watching your masterful skills! Each end every time I'm left in awe, inspired and kind of intimidated by your craftsmanship! And now I am going to organize my own crafting table :D Thank you kindly Christine, you are wonderful!
Your lampshades are Absolutely INcredible AND you made the same one TWICE!- which to me, is even more Astounding!
Their fluid shape and the way you've finished them reminds me of the French artist Erte- simply WOW!
Your talent is mind blowing.
I’ve been dying to see the wallpaper!!
Very creative and detail-oriented artist! Her patience and perseverance is amazing!
Christine, those lamps are above category! Extraordinary!!!
This is simply one of the most glorious lamp shades I have ever seen. Gosh you're such a talented woman! Wowzers!!
I also drop everything to watch her videos she is just spectacular and her talent is out of this world. God bless her.
I really respect not only the amount of pains-taking work you put into this project but also the beauty that was created. Elegant & facinating. Thank you for sharing. Your ideas are fabulous and tips greatly appreciated.
It's so nice to watch a dark and vintage style craft video like this.
Weirdly enough, I was just thinking about your channel this past week and wondering if you're still making videos since it's been awhile and magically... POOF... your video appears.... (I guess you've been busy on Patreon). I love visiting your Victorian world of oddities and all things vintage. The time and care you put into those beautiful lampshades is admirable. They are gorgeous 😲
Your creativity & artistic skills are a gift🖤
My heart stopped beating - a new video! I missed you so much! Happy to have you back!
Love when a new video comes out. The lamps shades turned out perfect. I hope your thumbs have recovered.
Wow this is incredible! Absolutely stunning. You are so creative. ❤
It is absolutely wonderful to see you back Christine. You are so much fun and so creative. Thank you so much for making my day with this video! ❤
I remember when I lived in London for a few years back in the 90's & I'd pass this apartment. They'd always have the drapes open at night so you could see straight inside & omg it looked just like the styles you show on this channel & they had so many of those Victorian shaped lamps all with red fabric & the entire room glowed red. It was truly stunning. Victorian heaven. I'm glad I found your channel tonight x
Its a good day when christine posts
Soooo glad you posted a video!! ❤ everything looks amazing!
