    What is the best way if the camera doesn’t have animal eye tracking AF when you’re taking action shots? I switched to BBF due to this but ever since I struggle to get the eyes in focus, even when the dogs are still. Very frustrating 😅

    Another great video!! What about when the subject is too close to the lens? (Is that one?)

    • @lucym22

      Is that why there are special macro lenses to get close to subjects?

    If I have a low F stop like 1.4 and I move while taking the photo it will also come blurry correct?

      @ThatPhotographySpot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends how much you move really, but, yes 👌🏼

    The 18-55mm lens that came with my Canon has image stabilizer; and the 75-300mm zoom lens does not! I've always thought that a bit ridiculous. I'd prefer having the stabilizer on my zoom lens. So, now I'm understanding that depending on how close I'm zooming in, my shutter speed should always be at least 1/150 - 1/600, when I use my zoom lens!
    One of the answers I got ,on a forum, to my question about why I'm frequently getting soft focus was that I might be underexposing and trying to fix in in post processing. That's exactly what I was doing. My camera creates noise at ISO 400 and above! When I shot my stepbrother's wedding at sunset, I was moving around a lot; so I didn't use a tripod. Therefore, I didn't dare go below 1/80 and I had my AV at 5.6. The images were underexposed and I had to compensate in LR. However, I was still having an issue with low exposure at the reception; and I was using a flash. So, I still don't know what the problem was there. I probably need to learn more about my flash.
    When I shoot in a dog park at sunset, I like to shoot at about 1/500; and since I want the whole dog in focus, I'm setting the aperture to 8. I think I'll just need to start shooting at brighter times of day. Also, maybe I should experiment with wider apertures. One thing though..... when I experimented with not worrying about the poor performance at high ISO, I found that a properly exposed image at the higher ISO's, though a little noisy, had no more noise than an underexposed image at ISO 400.

    Great video and explanation. The best on utube I have seen, by far. Do you mind me asking if you rate the sigma 50mm, 1.4? I've just got one and am learning to use it.

      I tend to use lenses over 100mm but it's personal preference!

    Been struggling with this for so long. Going back to just practicing on getting sharp photos. I'm doing okay of late with up close pictures on my nifty fifty lens. When taking pictures from a distance, like if I'm trying to get my pups whole body or more of his body in the shot, his eyes/face are never sharp. Do i need to adjust my aperture to a higher number as I move further away from my dog? What am i doing?! This has seriously been a problem I've been trying to work out for couple years off and on. I give up and then get motivated to try again.

    • @ThatPhotographySpot
      @ThatPhotographySpot  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are numerous different things that could be factoring into this the including the lens itself. Some lenses are better that others at different things such as wider shots etc. Hope that helps 😊

    Hello! I really need some help. I have the Sony A7iii and 85mm 1.4 lens. I have the eye AF on. But every time I take a picture his nose looks super weird and blurry and it ruins the whole picture. What should I do!!!

    • @ThatPhotographySpot
      @ThatPhotographySpot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s because you’re using a super shallow depth of field on a longer lens ☺️ if you don’t like the look, you just need to increase your f number and allow light in with other settings (drop your Shutter Speed or increase your ISO)

      @@ThatPhotographySpot in what type of lighting should I use a low f number?

    • @ThatPhotographySpot
      @ThatPhotographySpot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use a low f-number in every lighting situation (except studio), but you’ll need more/better light to use a higher aperture without using a higher ISO 💪

    Bugger. I thought, here's an area where I excel, here's something I can win at, but no; I've only managed to consistently achieve 7 of the 11.

      @@ThatPhotographySpot Ah well, I might be holding off on those ones, since to get good at them it seems like I'd need to bust my lens and camera. Might wait for the natural coarse of events in that regard :)

    Im pretty sure it is my camara that is bad! I want a camara that does all of this adjustments for me... Like we can send people out in space, but we can not make a camara that can take a picture for a person that is braindead?
