Wow, this tip was so simple but absolutely worth spending 9:30mins of my life for, I never thought that i can fix WB that accurately and easily, Thankyou very very much for sharing your valuable knowledge🤍
I. Am. Literally. Mind. Blown. What a short and super sweet/helpful video!! Can't wait to try this out!! Thank u so much! I have a black dog and excited to see how this method works on him!
Ohhhhhhh this is brilliant. It’s exactly what I needed and such a fast way of doing. Win win!! Thank you for sharing such valuable content. Ps your new horse is gorgeous. XX
The thing is that I'm not really dog/animal photoshooter but I do appreciate your knowledge and skills. Once again you surprised me with the trick I haven't seen before. Thank you for that. You are a 🌟
Skin tones are something I REALLY struggle with. What a great tip. I have never thought about the upping the vibrance and trying it out that way. Thanks again for another very educational video!
You just blew my mind! After 8 years of photography and watching probably thousands of videos, including plenty of paid courses, this is the first time I've come across this little trick. White balance is my nemesis!! I went straight to Lightroom to try it on a bunch of new and old photos, and WOW. It worked amazingly on most, but I did have trouble with a few. I'd love to see you demonstrate some more examples using skin tones specifically.
Oh, this is going to be so helpful! I've never heard anyone suggest that we increase our vibrance and saturation so that we can check our white balance and see what's going on in the blacks, grays, and browns. This is way cool!
Setting the WB WITHOUT a neutral colour reference - who new? I did a shoot at the weekend and was having a hard time deciding on an acceptable white balance, this technique was extremely helpful - thank you!
Really great tips. I have always watched editing videos for help and have struggled to understand what I doing. This is a big help especially when I do not use LR or PS like all professionals on TH-cam.
Thank you for this! I’m just learning all of this and photography and only have Lightroom mobile, however there’s still things I learned from this video. I’m always struggling with colors that are off, I can see it, but don’t know how to fix it, it drives me crazy! Your videos have already helped me so much! Your knowledge and experience are incredible, thank you so much for sharing your incredible talent with the rest of us! I’m starting later in life, I don’t want to waste any time, I want to learn as much as I possibly can in a straightforward way. Thank you!!!!
Lisa, that's such great feedback, thank you so much for your kind words🙏 Really excited for you starting out, hope you continue to find the content we put out there super helpful 🥰
Brilliant video! This is something I was trying to improve on this morning and along comes this video perfectly explaining it. I mostly do wildlife photography but after getting nagged by friends and family to photograph their dogs, cats, and horses I found this channel a couple months ago, and it's made my work twice as good as it was before. Your videos are so clearly explained it's been incredibly helpful, really I can't thank you enough.
Thank you so much for this video. I was struggling with colour balance, I never liked it really, I always felt that something's wrong with my photos, and now I know what it is and how to fix it!
Wished I had spotted this sooner. I have a chocolate Labrador and use mostly Lightroom, I’ve been struggling with getting her colour balance right. Just re-edited my photos of her using your tips, what a difference it’s made. Great video and thank you for taking the time to put all these videos together.
THANK YOU for this video, I am ”suffering” from colorblindness (I have a bit difficult seeing difference between red and green and also between blue and purple). I just got into photography and I’ve noticed that white balance has been the one thing a I’ve found difficult to get right. This will definitely help me as the ”wrong” colors will show even clearer. Thank you Jess!
Very interesting and effective technique, indeed. Thank you very much. I do have a question though: what if I took my shot during the blue hour and I have to keep this atmosphere in my final edit? Should I leave a slight blue cast on the dog's coat?
Thank you for sharing your great tips with us! But what if there are blueish reflections of the sky on dark hair? Isn't it just natural? Or do we want to get rid of those reflections just because they don't look good? I've just probably answered my own question... :)
Thank you so much for the great feedback 🙏 Everything with photography is usually a case by case basis, but most of the time I balance to the light hitting the top of the subject to neutralise that 😊
Brilliant techniques but apart for the skin tone, where orange is always predominant in all major photographs, hence adjusting the white balance only you will never reach to adjust to neutral tones.
Not too sure about this one. Using this method you can also take away the gold from golden hour, the blue from blue hour and the weird green glow from under a storm cloud. Some colour casts are meant to be there, and white isn't always meant to look white, otherwise you might as well just hit the autobland button. Or perhaps I'm misunderstanding the intent. Other than that, good method if you don't know where your white balance is at.

Glad you found this useful and that the 10 minutes you invested in this proves its worth going forwards 🤓

Wahoo - good luck!
Can't believe I never thought about that, hyper-saturating to target the right colors makes a ton of sense, thanks :>
Ohhhhhhh this is brilliant. It’s exactly what I needed and such a fast way of doing. Win win!! Thank you for sharing such valuable content. Ps your new horse is gorgeous. XX

Thank you. Very helpful. Are there any changes to this using local adjustments now that we have masking for subjects, objectives, etc?
Very very nice 👍
Thank you 🙏

Very good video, I struggle with this. Just one suggestion, can u remember to toggle the before and after at the end of each image thank you 🙏🏻
Ok, no problem!
You are such a great teacher! I have never seen this approach to white balance and it makes so much sense. I cant wait to try 👍🏻😁
You can do it! 💪🏼
What if you have multiple subjects with different color casts please?
Use masks and do it in Photoshop 👌🏼
Very interesting and effective technique, indeed. Thank you very much. I do have a question though: what if I took my shot during the blue hour and I have to keep this atmosphere in my final edit? Should I leave a slight blue cast on the dog's coat?
Yes! This is where knowing what colours should be there is important ☺️

Brilliant techniques but apart for the skin tone, where orange is always predominant in all major photographs, hence adjusting the white balance only you will never reach to adjust to neutral tones.
Amazing tips, thank you! But why do all photographers hate on true to life green? 😂
It’s often the brightest and most saturated area of an image, so it fights constantly with the intended subject. That’s probably why 😊
