It’s funny how Warrior’s best promo was his last promo. Not because of how eerie it turned out to be but how it wasn’t the usual Warrior rambling promo it was a promo that made sense and was inspiring and brought a smile to my face

I never like Triple H. But he really went all out to extend the olive branch. He pushed for Warrior to be inducted to the hall of fame, and knowing Warrior’s character, he tried his best to make sure Warrior didn’t had any confrontation with anyone, telling Terry to please stay away from him until the induction. But it’s all cool in the end. Hulk & Warrior finally made peace. Damn it, the book he gave Vince, it got me crying like a bitch.

this is a fantastic complation esp the last 20 minutes...some of the backstage stuff that went on during his HOF time and whatnot are things that ive never heard of. one of my favs growing up. its so unreal the timing of his passing and that he made peace with everyone before he left this world. only problem i have with it is that his daughters were far too young to lose their daddy. i have two daughters myself so to me thats heartbreaking. but amazing footage of his last days for sure! great job on the video!

You’re being harsh on that post-WM 12 Warrior return promo with Goldust. Probably the best Warrior promo ever. “I’ve got a full length movie for you-me kicking your ass from beginning to end!”
I always wondered whether that Summerslam 91 dispute was done to cover up steroid issues with Warrior. Looking at videos from around that time, Warrior is getting noticeably smaller, and I don’t think it’s coincidental that Warrior, Hogan, and Savage all took breaks around that period, only to come back leaner. It’s all too convenient to me.

Kevin Sullivan that was booking WCW at the time said Warrior came in so Hogan could get the win back. In his words he thought it was “Strange” about how Hogan was so set on getting that win back from Warrior. It’s Hogan so nothing surprises me when it comes to placating his giant ego. Remember, WCW booked Hogan almost identically to his 80’s run. They even brought Zeus in for Gods sake!

I saw the Warrior at a high school show he came out into the audience after the match and was throwing chairs around. people ran away. my buddy and I stood there clapping and cheering. I put both hands up for a high 10. he interlocked with my hands shook my arms around and kinda gave me a little shove backwards. I played it up and fell backwards about 5' into the padded wall of the gymnasium and he gave me a WTF look, and then a little smirk and kept on throwing chairs. it made my year. I was at the Nitro where Sting and Warrior took on Hogan and Hart. Not a great match, but it was so awesome to see the one and only time Sting and Warrior reunited. My biggest fantasy at this time was for them to reform the Blade Runners, even if they didn't use the name, just to give some much needed hype for Warrior, who was gradually losing the audience's attention as his storyline with Hogan was trainwreck after trainwreck. 98 was definitely one of the worst years for WCW as egos all around ruined some great potential storylines.

I pleaded with my parents to visit my aunt again next week to watch wrestlemania. I didn't realise it was shown on a tape delay because of the time difference between the US & The UK. lol
I'm not sure if being English had anything to do with me not being that keen on Hogan, but I became a Warrior fan pretty quick and was chuffed when he beat Hogan. It really felt like you were witnessing something historic. Hogan and Warrior weren't the greatest of workers, but they knew how to tell a story.

Very good compilation of my childhood hero! I didn’t care if I understood him or not. The guy brought something different, fresh, and very entertaining to the WWF! In my eyes he was bigger than HH .... RIP Warrior your spirit is STILL running threw our hearts and minds. 🙏🏼

Warrior got so much flack for allegedly not caring about the business and holding Vince up. But did Vince ever care about the boys?

    • @TheZigzach
      @TheZigzach 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Of course he did. At the end of the day Vince was their boss and he was giving them an opportunity.

So are contracts only one way documents? People piss and moan about Vince all day but there are 2 parties that sign a contract. Don't like your contract? Get a better agent. Warrior deserves all the flack he gets. This rose tinted nostalgia glasses Marking out is ridiculous...WCW Warrior WAS the REAL Warrior. The garbage worker, garbage promos, the selfish behavior, and not having the WWF promo machine behind him. What happened?

I will never forget talking about the fake Warrior at school and how the real one had died. Then there was the same thing with the Undertaker. School playground stuff was amazing. We talked about Wrestling and Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles soooo much!!!

i think people still misunderstand jim's warrior gimmick. he said outlandish nonsensical things because his deal was that he was so jacked up that he had lost his mind. hearing him speak outside the ring and away from promos, you could tell his in-ring persona was seriously less intellectual than he was. the warrior was an incarnation of jim's spirit in the jim, ring, and life dialed up to 11, not his mentality.

    •  4 ปีที่แล้ว

The things he said in the ring were ahead of there time and one would need eyes to see and ears to hear to understand the Warrior's message and a dictionary would be needed for most of us, the fans, the Warrior was speaking spiritually from a high plan of knowledge. Some people just did not get it as life is spiritual and were trapped in this Carnal World, so some who are not spiritually gifted did not understand this message maybe, my opinion Ultimate Warrior is and was always the best, a awesome man.

@@StrikeTeam0316 Seriously. It's one of the most tired arguments against making any kind of criticism. Also, Sid may have not been the best promo in the biz (clearly), but with his look, facials, and when he keep the promo time to a minimum, he was a tour de force that the fans ate up.

Do you believe Hellwig DID know a lot more than he was letting on in that final appearance as the Warrior in the ring that night?
I believe people know when they're going to die, maybe not consciously, but something inside seems to make these people feel an urge to get their affairs in order, make peace where once there was none.
My grandmother told me about how my grandfather wrote an extra passage in her birthday card the year he died. Every year he wrote the same words in the birthday cards, but that last year he wrote an extra passage. She remembered this and said it was as is somehow he knew...
I believe Jim Hellwig may have somehow just knew, you know?.
