This video explains everything. People don’t like the 06 remake Bc it was good, but bc the story leading up to it was so good. It’s like a rehashing of a classic buddy cop movie. The “2 former partners who’ve had it out over the past decade finally come back together to vanquish a common foe. And they find that things haven’t changed so much in the past 10 years along the way”.
To me, the returning DX somewhat filled a hole in my heart after Eddie Guerrero died, as a sort of cheeky anti-hero comedy act. (I also had hopes in Pirate Paul Burchill, but then Vince cancelled that gimmick.) I think the WWE was thinking the same, that they needed someone to fill the role of a comedic anti-hero, as this happened only 1 year after Eddie died.

Rock-a-Billy and the Roadie really lasted that damn long before becoming the outlaws?! Holy smokes. I seriously remember it being a few weeks only. Goes to show how memorable all that stuff was, huh?
That's what happens when a cowboy and an Armstrong brother realize they got nothing better to do and say, "Hey, let's team together." And end up selling a ton of merchandise
I was 10-11 years old when I first was introduced to pro wrestling. It was just before the formation of the NWO in WCW. So I didn’t miss a single Monday night war for 2-3 years straight. No internet spoilers, no TH-cam videos of fantasy booking, wrestling smart marks and everything. I was able to witness the beginnings of DX, the beginning of the Stone Cold character and his rise to the top of the industry and also witnessed the debut of Rocky Mavia, the fans turn on the character and then the heel turn n start of the most electrifying man in sports entertainment (and Hollywood); The Rock! That was an awesome organic rise to the top! What a time to be a wrestling fan. And this is the most hope and excitement WWE fans have had in a long long time with Vince out and Triple H taking over creative
It’s funny to think that WWE were worried that D-X’s antics would get them thrown of the USA Network where as Raw was shown on Sky One in England on Saturday mornings, it started either 11am or midday where as in America it was shown on Monday nights. Sable’s handprint “bikini” top and the Katie Vick video was all shown on Saturday mornings here in England 🏴
21:38 however, it has recently come out, while on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull podcast on the WWE Network, the Undertaker said that it did happen, and that he lied to Shawn, because their relationship and Shawn’s attitude had changed so much for the better since then. So I mean, one guy says one thing, another guy says another thing, and as always, when I hear a something that sounds like a good story, that’s probably exactly what it is
A shame they did not work with Owen Heart, the same Owen Heart that broke Steve Austin's neck? Can you blame them for not willing to take a chance with Owen? I mean I hate to say it but if what Austin discribed occurred prior to their match, Owen chose not to care to ensure their match was safe. Owen could have killed Austin, he ended the guy's career and as someone with a damaged neck and spine due to a military accident while I was in the military, the pain is constant. Even when I am asleep I wake up earlier due to the pain, Austin got dropped on his head all due to a choice Owen made. Owen dying does not excuse the fact that he became an unsafe worker in the eyes of some. Why would someone with a back injury be willing to put their lives in the hands of someone who chose to do his own thing and dropped a man on his head? It is a pity Owen passed away as he did but that will never excuse what he did.
Disappointed that the Oct '99 - Aug '00 DX heel run was skimmed over in 30 seconds - this had great moments, feuding with Stone Cold, The Rock, Mick Foley & The Undertaker, some of the New Age Outlaws best matches, The DX Express, The Kane/Tori stuff, Stephanie Mcmahon, The Mcmahon/Hemsley faction, The Run DMC music, alligning with The Radicalz and placing enemies in unfair lumberjack matches, the Billy Gunn injury that changed the face of the tag team division - this was a great time for DX and they were dominating shows in early 2000 and best of all, DX were proper heels here and got some major heat. You should cover this period and upload an updated version of this collection!
As far as Sean Michaels I think it was his idea later to have the new age outlaws to dx as far as putting them together it was likely both Vince & Russo to put them together Vince may had told Russo to or Russo asked Vince before offering to do so the truth often falls in the middle
I must be a little older I'll never forget being a very young adult when DX was running wild. Although a lot of people say triple h is a better Hill I do think the DX was awesome.
That brought back so many awesome memories of both the early DX and me and my best friend of old walking the streets crotch chopping everything from oap's to phone boxes... in our early 20's!!!!...great video well put together. Long live the degeneration X
I dug the 06 return, the childish pranks always had me laughing. Yeah wasn't the quite same as 97 but, then again the business wasn't the same 9 years later either. Was awesome to see the reuinion.
1:07:29 bro I remember thinking of, first the 06’ DX run as amazing and seeing this run honestly made me feel so nostalgic at the start (maybe not the end)
DX feuding with Undertaker who had his hands full with Kane. Gosh darn that's a packed lineup. OH, YEAH. I FORGOT...THE ROCK.....And a guy named STONE COLD.
FIRST OF all Shawn is show always have been and always will be .. The Fact that Hit man lost was because it was set up but for a good reason..Hitman didn't want to let it go especially to Shawn..Because Brett is a wrestler but no show..sucks but thats the truth.. I
It’s crazy that the original DX was only around for about 6 months. It was so popular at my school before HBK left. It was every bit as popular as NWO was which already had a year under its belt by the time Summerslam ‘97 happened.
I didn’t hate the later version of the tag team of DX with HBK and Triple H but it wasn’t the same but anytime they got back together it would make me go out of my way to watch Monday night Raw but Honestly by that time I had given up on WWE. But I was a huge fan of the original DX days back in 1997 - 2000. Legendary faction. I’m good as far as saying the best WWF faction of all time. Outside of the WWF they come in third place for me, behind The 4 Horsemen and nWo.
I started watching wwe in 2002, so my first experience watching DX was in 2006 and for me it was so entertaining and fun for me but I was 8 so I don't know how much that's actually true lol guess it just shows their audience changed from their original run. Plus, I never got that nostalgia vibe, it was all new for me
@@KaliBeatsYoSoyAquel That’s still cool though man. I’m glad that they were there for you to experience them during that time. Like I wasn’t watching pro wrestling at the time of the first Starrcade in 83 By the time I got into wrestling it was during the late 80s when Ted Turner was buying WCW, but I still appreciate the old Ric Flair stuff. People start watching wrestling at different times and I don’t think people should be punished because of their age. One thing I would do if I were you guys is I would find a couple of buddies around your age and I would go back to 1992 And just watch all of whatever wrestling had to offer but just watch it once a week. So it would be like you guys were watching it like we watched it. Doesn’t take a lot of time a couple hours. I’m not saying you need to go do this right now! LOL nothing like that I was just saying that if I were you guys age I think that’s how I would do it.
@@bdr113080 It's hard to get into the older stuff, especially since I didn't live through it. You talk about watching wrestling in the 80's but I started watching in the 00's hahah and even though I am very aware of the history thanks to a lifelong obsession with wrestling I can't see it as more than a historical archive where I can go back and learn a little about the past but I will never feel as though I'm living it, because I don't have the memory or the nostalgia for it. I remember watching the 92 Royal Rumble a few years ago and feeling confused, there's something almost eery about it. It's funny though, because what causes nostalgia in me for "the good ol' days" are Ruthless Agression era matches. Times change and it's weird
No matter what anyone has ever said about Scott Hall or Kevin Nash, if it weren’t for them we might not have gotten the nWo, DX, the Attitude Era, the Monday Night War, or the end to Goldberg’s Streak 🔥

There was a mini dx reunion on smackdown in Chicago when it was survivor series weekend. They appeared after the show though was pretty amazing and fun to see the live one last time
something a lot of people missed is when Shawn was a "chef" his boss used his actual last name Hickenbottom. for those that don't know Shawn Michaels actual legal name is Michael Shawn Hickenbottom. But this was when kafabye was still kind of a thing and hearing a wrestlers real name was kind of taboo.

I agree!
I like the 97 and 06 versions of DX and i liked their 2012 run to
Great job!
Oustanding upload, very informative and entertaining!! I miss the DX of the 90's.
That brought back so many awesome memories of both the early DX and me and my best friend of old walking the streets crotch chopping everything from oap's to phone boxes... in our early 20's!!!!...great video well put together. Long live the degeneration X
We've Been Bamboozled! Gold! 😭
The Outsiders in WCW.... DX in WWF.... The Kliq did rule the wrestling world...
You Keep flushing and flushing!
And the Nugget keeps spinning!
AND WONT GO DOWN!
I love your videos !!
The images you choose are perfect for the narrative and your delivery is perfect. @11:04 you said 1991 instead of 1997.
I dug the 06 return, the childish pranks always had me laughing. Yeah wasn't the quite same as 97 but, then again the business wasn't the same 9 years later either. Was awesome to see the reuinion.
One of the best catch phrases in the WWE...."OH you didn't know?..."
1:07:29 bro I remember thinking of, first the 06’ DX run as amazing and seeing this run honestly made me feel so nostalgic at the start (maybe not the end)
1:01:16 I loved the ‘06 run too. It was good regardless. Ppl can’t expect ‘97 and ‘06 to be the same way different times in the world
DX feuding with Undertaker who had his hands full with Kane.
@@noelrobles1799 what? Forget Brett. He broke SCSA's neck and DIDN'T APOLOGIZE
80s and 90s wrestling were great eras.
You can almost hear the eyeroll when he says "And Shawn Michaels had found God."
No matter what anyone has ever said about Scott Hall or Kevin Nash, if it weren’t for them we might not have gotten the nWo, DX, the Attitude Era, the Monday Night War, or the end to Goldberg’s Streak 🔥
This is one of the crown jewels of TH-cam I love this channel I hope wwe network buy all of this content and make it there official bio and you get paid big for it because you deserve it. Also did I say how much I love this channel. And I hate wrestling... Joking 😃
Awesome in depth retrospective of the greatest and most important faction of the attitude era. And if you're not down with that then I got two words for you...
Hammer Time ?
Cherry Pie ? Oh wait, you mean
SUCK IT
WM14 was my first PPV, what a night.
Would have been cool to have the rest of dx vs spirit squad
There was a mini dx reunion on smackdown in Chicago when it was survivor series weekend. They appeared after the show though was pretty amazing and fun to see the live one last time
something a lot of people missed is when Shawn was a "chef" his boss used his actual last name Hickenbottom.
for those that don't know Shawn Michaels actual legal name is Michael Shawn Hickenbottom. But this was when kafabye was still kind of a thing and hearing a wrestlers real name was kind of taboo.
great narration Fit Finlay!! SALUTE
Great video
